AC: Chapter 22 will be delayed for a week. Next week, I'll be a bit busy with getting my new car and a bit of my writing time will be busy for that.

Tom and Sarah watched the destruction of the secret base of those who kidnapped Kaz.

"Too bad Peyton couldn't be here and port out quickly," Tom commented, "He would be happy to see Kaz free."

"Yeah. Sucks that we have to stay far away. Still, we would be coded with all the explosions. I'm sure none of them would hesitate to attack us if we were closer."

"And Lord Van Bloot is still alive," the teenage boy watched the fight in the air against Takinom. They were other creatures who fought in the air and went on.

"It won't be long before Kaz is freed. I'm also sure it won't be long before they crushed him and his troop."

"I hope H'earring is okay. He is also in danger," Tom crossed his fingers. He closed his eyes for a few seconds. He opened them again; the battle went on and made little progress. He just hoped it wouldn't be too long.

The longer this battle went on, the more in danger Kaz would be. Not only that, but they knew Chaor was coming and when he was there, it would get even more explosive than before.

Chapter 21: The Rescue Part 2

Lord Van Bloot painfully grunted as he felt a fireball on his chest and sent him away. He spread his wings to avoid crashing on the ground and avoided the troops of Takinom on the ground. He quickly raised from the ground. He knew they had to use their emergency escape soon. He wondered if Atrapool managed to escape yet. He saw many of the creatures who went into the base.

The harpy pushed those thought aide and countered with everything he got. He chuckled when Takinom was hit on her face and dropped on the ground. He cursed himself when she managed to quickly recover and charged at him.

He crossed his arms and blocked a powerful blast. He felt pain in his arms. He shook them and dodged the next attack.

Rothar smirked lightly as he held his axe and was ready to charge. Flame awakened on the blade of his axe, "Don't worry Kaz. I will make sure to cut him in pieces only."

Kaz couldn't see Rothar anymore as Atrapol spun him on his shoulders to have his best arm freed, "Now I'm worried."

The large armored creature chuckled when he heard the reply for a second before he frowned, "I need only one arm to crush a warrior of Chaor," he hit the ground and spikes came out and hit Rothar.

The minotaur partially blocked them with his axe, but felt a few spikes hit his chest. His armor protected him a bit, but it hit hard. He slid on the ground and spun his axe. He sent a few fireballs at the creature's stomach.

Atrapol went to the left and avoided the flames coming at him. He squinted his eyes when he felt the hostage face hit his back, "I suggest you hold on to something."

Kaz found nothing to hold on. He painfully grumbled. He suddenly yelped when the creature dodged more attacks coming at him. His eyes pun a little, "Good thing I can handle motion sickness," he sighed.

"Why are you staying in the side of Van Bloot?" Rothar asked.

The boy thought a bit more. He knew that Atrapol was thew type to stand by the winning side. Still, he knew the creature was also loyal to Lord Van Bloot.

Atrapol slammed the ground with his hand, "Rockwave!"

He hit the other creature and turned around to find the exit. He stopped and decided to switch plan. He needed to use his Flux Bauble and teleport to their safe location. He put his hand on his waist and realised he didn't have the battlegear with him. He grunted as he looked around. It was nowhere. He quickly thought back and remembered he had it when he visited Kaz in jail. After this, he didn't have the gear.

With no other way to escape without the battlegear, he rushed back to the prison.

Kaz grunted when he suddenly dashed, "Where are you going?"

"Plan B," Atrapol simply replied.

Rothar quickly recovered and went after them.

"Just that?" the boy asked his kidnapper.

"Like I'll let you tell Rothar what the plan is," he grunted.

Kaz nervously chuckled, busted. He couldn't struggle to escape. The grasp was strong and he didn't need that huge gauntlet to crush his rib rages if he did that. He just let himself transported like a bag. Any escape plan would wait when he had the chance. Still, no scanner on him and he had no idea where it might be. He would need his friends for that. He hoped they weren't in trouble and stayed far away from the fight.

He winced when he hit the armor of the creature, as Rothar caught on them with a quake that made Atrapol lose his balance. He wondered if Rothar enjoyed a bit when he hurt him a bit. He did block the creature from hitting on his mother.

Tom and Sarah continued to observe the evolution of the fight. It was obvious that Takinom and her troops were winning. At the same time, they noticed that the warriors loyal to Van Bloot didn't seem to panic. They remained a cohesive unit.

"Are they fighting to win or not?" Sarah wondered. It didn't make sense to keep fighting if it was the case. Their defeat was obvious.

"Feels like they are winning some time for something," the boy replied.

"Should we check around or not? Because I still don't think it will be a good idea."

"But you suggest it. You want me to go first, so you can lecture me latter."

"Maybe."

"No. This is too intense and we are useless as hostages anyway. I'm sure Kaz will be okay," Tom nervously chuckled. He had a feeling that his best friend might come back with a few bruises.

"This really sucks. We have to stay here and do nothing," she grumbled a bit.

Heavy footsteps back behind them. They turned around and saw the red creature that rule the Underworlder.

Chaor glanced at them, "Get out of here," before he went forward.

None of them replied. They knew what he meant, even if it annoyed them to be considered in his way, when they were out of his way. It was mostly because they were the guides of the Overworld and the Danian.

The ruler of the Underworlder approached the battlefield. He immediately saw Van Bloot, "Van Bloot!" he yelled the name of the creature.

The green harpy recognised Chaor. He grunted, before he was punched in the face and was sent down. He spun around and landed on the ground near Chaor. Takinom wasn't his main focus now, "Chaor. It has been a while, since you ruined my life with your lies," he glared at the red creature. He was not up for pleasantries. He never was with Chaor.

"Where is Kazzy? If you hurt him, I will pluck your feathers one by one and cauterise your wings so those feathers never grow back again!"

The other creature snickered, "I wouldn't hurt our guide to the Cothica. Maybe you will eventually. It's in your blood, as I said to Kaz."

Chaor was infuriated. He shockingly replied in a calm manner, "You told him lies."

"Worse," the harpy chuckled loudly as he felt the hateful glare of his nemesis, "I told him truths," he dodged a few fire attacks coming at him. He dropped down when more came. He stood up and got a punch on his face. He took a few steps back and quickly gained altitude, "Looks like I hit you where it hurt," a grin reappeared despite the pain and his nosebleed.

Kaz just had the worse time of his life. He was shaken around when Atrapol quickly moved to dodge attacks and when he countered. He knew he was a liability and the creature should just drop him to win this fight. Not only that, more Underworlder quickly closed in behind them.

The armored creature dodged the axe that came to his faces a few times and countered with a kick on the stomach. He sent his adversary against the wall and quickly continued to search for his Flux Bauble. It wasn't the best escape plan they had, but they knew where the rendezvous point. He climbed the stairs as he returned where Kaz was imprisoned.

Kaz himself quickly recognised this, "You are going to jump from my jail? Are you out of your mind?!"

Atrapol didn't bother to reply. The boy didn't know he dropped the Flux Bauble somewhere and went to pick it up. Without that, it would be the best choice. He heard Rothar chasing behind him and he had little time. The moment he entered the room, he found the Flux Bauble. He went to grab it, when a spike came off the ground and sent it away from him. It rolled away and stopped inside the jail where Kaz was trapped for several day.

The large creature turned around and glanced at Rothar.

"You are not going to get away that easily!" the minotaur grunted as he pointed his axe at the creature.

The armored creature frowned as he made sure he held the boy tightly, "Hold on," he ordered.

The teenager saw the battlegear on the ground and was nervous. It was clear that the moment he would use it, he would be gone and the rescue mission would be a failure. Kaz decided to wait. He needed the perfect opportunity to escape. The moment the grasp was loose, he would get away from the creature.

They heard a large explosion, followed by fire. Kaz saw Lord Van Bloot passed in front of the window with fireballs coming from the ground and Takinom chasing after him.

Rothar wasted no time and tackled Atrapol while the other creature was distracted.

The armor creature panicked when he accidentally dropped Kaz on the ground. He took a few steps back to regain his balance and tried to go after the boy.

Rothar held the boy and put pushed the teenager behind him, "Run! I'll finish him up now!"

He blocked a punch with his axe and chuckled, "Looks like things are going bad for you."

Atrapol stomped the ground. The floor raised and the Flux Bauble came in the hand of the creature. He saw the human climbed down the stairs quickly. He put the battlegear on his belt and continued his assault on the minotaur who just recovered from the small quake he caused.

The two clashed together. The large gauntlet blocked the blade of the axe from cutting through the flesh and the armor. He blocked it with the palm of his two hands when it came down. He saw flames coming out of it and burned the face of the creature loyal to Van Bloot. The helmet hid the damage it did on the face of Atrapol.

Eventually, Atrapol managed to push the other creature on the side and went down the stairs after the boy. He didn't waste time and jumped down many stairs at the time. He saw the human at the bottom and running through the corridor. The Underworlder knew he just had to grab the boy and teleport somewhere else.

Atrapol put that plan into motion. He jumped when he was near and caught the left leg of the human. He held him with his left arm while he grabbed the Flux Bauble. He painfully grunted in pain when he was hit at the back. He endured more and more and was ready to activate it. The Flux Bauble began to take life.

Kaz saw this and kicked the helmet. He twisted it at the side and took the creature by surprise. He then managed to slip from the creature's grasp as he teleported away.

Atrapol yelled, "NOO-" before he disappeared and failed his mission.

The teenager panted as he put his hand on his forehead, "Took close," he sighed as he saw Rothar near him. He saw the hand offered to him, "Thanks."

The minotaur pulled him up, "Let's find your scanner when things calmed down. Lord Van Bloot is still around," he warned him.

"Yeah," the boy nodded.
