The journey to the Malfoy estate was marked by an uneasy silence. Sirius Black and Orion sat in the family carriage, the rhythmic clatter of hooves on cobblestone streets the only sound breaking the quiet. Orion's mind was heavy with anxiety, the weight of the impending conversation pressing on him.
The grand Malfoy manor loomed ahead, its imposing façade a stark contrast to the tense atmosphere inside the carriage. Sirius's jaw was set, his expression stern and resolute. Orion glanced at his father, hoping for some sign of reassurance, but received none.
Upon arrival, a house-elf guided them through the lavish halls to the study where Abraxas's father, Lucius Malfoy, awaited. Lucius, impeccably dressed and exuding calm authority, looked up from his desk as they entered.
"Sirius," Lucius greeted, his tone polite but curious. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"
"Lucius," Sirius replied, his voice clipped. "This is not a social visit. We need to discuss a serious matter."
Lucius's eyes shifted to Orion, noting his distressed expression, before returning to Sirius. "Very well. Please, take a seat."
Orion took a deep breath as he and Sirius settled into the chairs across from Lucius. Abraxas, who had been waiting nervously near the door, shifted uncomfortably.
Sirius began, his voice steady but controlled. "It has come to my attention that my son, Orion, and your son, Abraxas, were found in a compromising situation earlier today. This lapse in judgment is deeply troubling and reflects poorly on both our families."
Lucius's brows furrowed slightly. "Compromising situation? I was not aware of the specifics. Abraxas, perhaps you should explain."
Abraxas swallowed hard, his gaze dropping to the floor. "Father, it was a mistake. We were discussing our plans, and things got out of hand. I understand how serious this is, and I'm truly sorry."
Lucius's eyes narrowed as he studied his son, then looked back at Sirius. "This behavior is highly inappropriate. I assure you, I will address this matter with Abraxas and make sure it does not happen again."
Sirius nodded, his expression softening slightly. "Thank you, Lucius. I trust you will handle it appropriately. Orion and I felt it was important to address this with you directly."
Lucius gave a curt nod. "I appreciate your forthrightness. Rest assured, this will be resolved."
As the two fathers shook hands, Orion glanced at Abraxas. Their eyes met briefly, reflecting the shared embarrassment and regret they both felt.
Sirius placed a hand on Orion's shoulder as they prepared to leave. "We'll discuss this further at home."
Orion nodded, feeling a mix of relief and apprehension. As they exited the manor, he wondered how the events of the day would impact their families in the future.
