Howling 5
Wolf gets covered by hair everywhere; his face turns more like an animal's. He had grown taller and more muscular. Edward could not believe it; he was scared. Wolf stared at Edward menacingly. Edward draws Mana; multiple magic circles form.
"Fireball," Edward unleashes multiple fireballs. Wolf dodges them; Edward puts Adolpha down and draws his sword, "This is bad. If we knew he could turn, then I could have made a better plan; the other group must be dead," Edward looks at his dead comrades, "I at least need to get out of here." Edward draws Mana; his sword glows. He attacks Wolf with a series of sword swings; Wolf uses his claws to block. It surprises Edward.
Wolf disappears and appears behind him; Edward turns around but gets hit. He goes flying and hits the house. Edward coughs out blood; the house doesn't sustain damage. Edward, injured, gets up, "Dam it," he points his sword at Wolf. Edward pulls out a crystal from a pouch; he prepares to attack Wolf again.
Wolf senses Mana and activates his own; he releases electricity. Edward gets hit by it, stunning him. Wolf walks over to him. In the house, Sam and Mike head over to the kitchen; they wondered what was happening. When they see Wolf, they get scared. They duck under the window, "Why does he look like that," Mike asked. Sam had no answer.
Mike asks Sam to look; Sam doesn't want to say, "Come on, you are brave; just see what he is doing." Sam gets up and peaks; his expression is that of shock. Wolf had Edward's neck in his mouth. Blood spilled on the ground. Sam slowly sat down; Mike asked him what he saw.
Sam said nothing; Mike, curious, gets up and peaks. Wolf lets go of Edward's lifeless, bloody body and howls. His howl was heard in town again; Mike, scared, sat back down. The maids were with Victoria, asking what was happening. Victoria told them to calm down. She told them they would be safe. Victoria looks out the window and sees Wolf.
Adolpha woke up and saw a monstrous figure; initially, she got scared but realized it was Wolf. The moonlight shines on Wolf. Dead bodies all around; Adolpha gets up and runs to him. Wolf slowly returns to his usual self. Adolpha hugs him and cries; Wolf doesn't know what to do, so he lets her cry in his arms. After a while, he takes her back to the cabin.
Adolpha enters and walks to her bed. Wolf is about to leave, but Adolpha pleads to him to stay. She gets up and grabs his hand, "Please stay with me; I don't want to be alone." Wolf turned to her; she had tears in her eyes. "Okay, I will stay, only for a little while."
Wolf sits with Adolpha and comforts her. Adolpha was shaking; Wolf patted her head. Adolpha slowly begins to calm down; Wolf could hear her sniffle. After a while, Adolpha seems to fall asleep. Wolf got up and was going to leave; he felt someone hold on to him. He turns his head and sees Adolpha's hand.
Adolpha stands up; she stares at him. Adolpha was nervous; she then let go of him. Wolf continued to look at her. Adolpha takes off her dress; Wolf is captivated by her beauty. He is drawn to her; he lays with her. "Stay with me forever," Adolpha whispers.
It had gotten silent; Mike and Sam were too scared to look. After a while, they fell asleep. Victoria was staring at the cabin; she had seen Wolf go in there with Adolpha and had not come out, "The doors won't open until morning; Lord Michael won't be happy about this." She continued to stare at the cabin. After some time, Wolf had come out.
Victoria had fallen asleep on a chair in her room. The following morning, Mike woke up confused because he woke up in the kitchen. He then remembered he got drunk with Sam, who was next to him. Mike looked out the window and saw nothing unusual; he prepared some coffee. Mike took a sip of his coffee; he looked at the window again.
Mike notices something wrong with Adolph's door; he spits his coffee, "Sam, wake up!" He slaps Sam to wake him up. Mike goes outside and heads over to the cabin; he does not realize the fresh mounds of dirt nearby. Mike gets to the cabin and peeks inside. Mike looks around and notices someone sleeping, "Hello," he whispers.
Adolpha woke up and looked around, "Wolf," she called out; she leaned up. Her sheets fall; Mike gets a nosebleed. Adolpha sees him looking at her; she realizes she is naked and covered herself. Her face turns red, and she shouts for Wolf. Mike feels a presence behind him; he slowly turns around, "HEE, HEE." Mike runs back to the house.
Sam was up and preparing a cup for himself when he heard Mike screaming. Mike gets into the house and hides. "What's wrong," asks Sam. Then Victoria, along with the other maids, walk in. Victoria tells them to wait; she heads out. The maids talk about what happened last night. Sam then remembers seeing Wolf look like a monster.
Victoria walks over to the cabin; she notices the mounds of dirt. She gets to the cabin and walks in; Adolpha is getting dressed. Wolf stood by; when he saw her, he stepped aside. Victoria looks at the damage; she also looks at Adolpha, who has a bruise. Victoria sees the blood-stained bed sheets.
Victoria walks out and calls Wolf; Wolf steps out. Victoria draws Mana and activates the bracelet; Wolf feels pain and drops to his knees. Adolpha sees this and gets scared; she pleads to her to stop. Wolf was having trouble breathing. The maids and guys were shocked at what was happening.
Victoria stops and looks at him, angry with him, "Lord Michale will not be pleased; there will be consequences for this." Wolf gets up and apologizes; he walks over to Adolpha. "Are you all right," she asks him. Wolf nods; he has something for her. Wolf gives her another seashell. Victoria calls Mike and Sam.
Wolf tells Adolpha that he does not want to get her in further trouble; he leaves and goes on his patrol. Mike and Sam came out and went over to Victoria. "Can you fix this," she asks them. Mike and Sam looked at the door; Mike nervously said they could. Victoria told them to do so immediately.
Adolpha was standing by the doorway; she realized something was off. She could hear and smell the sea breeze. Adolpha didn't know that the cabin was built uniquely. She thought it was another prison for her to wait until she was sold. Victoria returned to the house and told the maids to get to work; she headed upstairs.
Victoria sits in her chair and thinks, "Lord Michael will find out one way or another. I know the terror has done to people in the past; these girls deserve better than this. If I keep it a secret, the punishment might be more severe; what should I do?" Victoria had a sad expression. Later, she walked downstairs and called everyone.
When everyone gathered, she told them she had to report the incident to Lord Michael. The girls showed worry; Victoria could see fear in their faces. Mike approached her, "Miss Victoria, how about we keep this little incident a secret for a while? Lord Michael is a terrible man, but he is a reasonable man. If we fix the door, we are good. He doesn't need to know about her almost getting taken." Victoria glared at him; she then realized he didn't know about Adolpha and Wolf.
Sam began talking about the maids, "These girls did nothing wrong; please give them a chance to continue working. When Lord Michael finds out, we will tell him everything." Victoria saw the girls agreeing with him, "Find have your way, but I warned you, it does not look good. I will do what I can for them."
They all felt relieved about it. Sam and Mike said they would return to fixing the cabin door. "I can't believe it worked; it will give us some time to think of a plan to get out of this mess," Mike said hopefully. "Yeah, Lord Michael will be distraught; I hate to think what he will do with us." Sam had been sweating.
They feared what would happen when they tried to fix the door earlier. They figured Victoria would want to tell Lord Michael. Mike thought of keeping it a secret; he told Sam about it and agreed. Mike then said they needed to convince Victoria. That's when they got summoned.
Victoria told the girls to get to work; she insisted on taking care of Adolpha for a while. She didn't want the girls to discover what happened, "The less they know, the better." Victoria took Adolpha her breakfast. Sam was holding the door; he stared at Adolpha. Adolpha glared at him. Mike was trying to figure out what to do.
Victoria arrives with food and enters the cabin; she sets the food down. Adolpha goes over and eats. Victoria stares at her; Adolpha looks different. Victoria takes the bed sheets; Adolpha, embarrassed, could not look away. "Do not tell anyone; understand." Adolpha nods. Victoria takes the bed sheets and goes to Wolf's camp; she burns them. Mike and Sam were confused.
Wolf was walking by where he fought the other adventurers; the bodies and any sign of fighting were gone. He looks at the boat they came on. Wolf pushes it back into the water and lets it float away; once it is out, he draws Mana, and his claws glow. Wolf swipes at the air, and the boat suddenly is cut into several pieces; he continues his patrol.
Back on the mainland, the townsfolk were already at work cleaning from the festivities. Others had gone to the island and prepared the trees for winter. The people talk about the festival and all that happened during it. A few people asked about the howling. "I don't know where it originated, but it was scary." "Yeah, I hope there is no trouble." "The group of adventurers also left; maybe they encountered it." Talk like that was going around, but it was a peaceful morning.
Mike and Sam finish fixing the door to the cabin. "Do you think it works," Sam said. "There is only one way to find out," Mike replied; he closed the door and tried to open it; he couldn't, "See, we could do it." Sam praises Mike; they head back to the house. Adolpha sat on her bed, waiting for Wolf.
Wolf returned to the house; he saw that the door was fixed. He goes to the cabin; Adolpha sees him and goes to the window, "How are you feeling," she asks him. Adolpha remembered he had injuries all over. Wolf told her he was fine. He places some seashells on her window sill, "Here so you can replace the broken ones."
Adolpha turns to look at her collection of seashells; some were broken. She took them and thanked him. Wolf left and returned to his campsite; he saw that his campfire was lit. He could smell a faint scent of blood, his and Adolph's. He sits by the fire and stares at it, "You will be a great hunter someday, Beo…." Wolf shakes his head.
It was noon, and the townsfolk were almost done cleaning. On the island, Mike and Sam were drinking; the maids were cleaning constantly. They talked about what they heard. They were also curious about the head maid, Victoria, because she would care for Adolpha. Some of the girls told them to mine their own business.
Victoria heads to the cabin to give Adolpha her lunch; she activates the bracelet, but nothing happens. She looks confused and tries to open the door. She pulls, and it opens, "Those idiots didn't fix it," she shakes her head in disappointment. Adolpha was fixing the inside of the cabin, which surprised Victoria. Adolpha notices her, and she goes and sits.
"Are they from Wolf," she asked. Adolpha was nervous, "Yes," she whispered. She eats; Victoria smiles. Once Adolpha ate, Victoria cleaned up and left, but not before looking at the door. She noticed something was missing. Victoria returned to the house; she looked for Mike and Sam.
Mike and Sam were in the living room. Victoria talked to them about the door. Mike told her they had fixed it. Victoria then asked if they saw a black crystal. Mike looks at Sam, "A black crystal; did you see one?" Sam shook his head; Victoria looked displeased, "Never mind," she said; she left them.
Mike and Sam were confused. The day went on like usual, and it was late; Adolpha ate dinner. Victoria finished cleaning up and left. Adolpha sat on her bed and waited for Wolf. Looking at her seashell, she heard the door make a noise. She looks over to see it slightly open. Adolpha walks over to it and touches it.
Adolpha opened the door; she was curious about it. Adolpha looks out and sees the house. She didn't know why it could be open, but it was. Adolpha was nervous but then stepped outside; she quickly went back in. Adolpha again was curious and stepped out; she became happy when it sank in that she was out.
Adolpha laughed and explored the backyard. She felt the cold and smelled the ocean breeze. Adolpha then thought of something; she went to see where Wolf slept. She walked to his camp and looked around; he wasn't there. Adolpha became cold and started shaking, "It sure is cold; I never felt this cold inside the cabin."
Adolpha felt a presence; she turned around. Wolf was standing behind her; she smiled and ran towards him. "What are you doing," he asks her. Adolpha hugged him and told him the door was open. Wolf looks at the cabin, "You should go back before you get in trouble." Adolpha lets go of him; she becomes sad, "I don't want to go back."
Wolf saw how sad she had become, "Okay, stay close to me; if Lady Victoria sees you, you must follow her orders. In the meantime, I will watch until you get tired." Adolpha was surprised and happy; she again hugged Wolf. Adolpha promised to do what Wolf said; they walked around the island. Adolpha was curious about all she saw.
In the house, Victoria was thinking about the crystal, "If they broke the crystal, then I can't lock the door like usual. Lord Michael will be upset with this as well. I must keep her locked up one way or another; Lord, please help me through this." Victoria has the other maids finish their work for the day. Mike and Sam went to sleep earlier.
Adolpha played in the sand as Wolf watched; he seemed happy. Adolpha would show him seashells and follow small crabs. After a while, she felt cold. Wolf walked her back to the cabin. Adolpha ran to her bed and got under the covers to get warm. Wolf told her to sleep; Adolpha peeks out, "Thank you, I had fun."
Wolf closes the door and continues his patrol. Adolpha warmed up under the covers and thought about being free. Unknown to them, Victoria saw that Adolpha had gone out; she stared at the cabin with sadness. Victoria knew Adolpha would have a hard time when Lord Michael returned.
The following morning, Victoria headed straight to the cabin. Adolpha was startled; she almost jumped out of bed. The other maids looked through the window, curious about Victoria's actions. Adolpha stood up and looked at Victoria. Victoria looked around the room. "Adolpha, I am aware of the situation. I have decided; you are to come and live inside the house."
Adolpha becomes surprised. Victoria told her about her circumstances and how it would be bad for her. She said to her that Lord Micheal would throw her in a cell somewhere in a basement; this scared Adolpha. Victoria said living in the house would show him she was still under his control. Adolpha thought about it.
"I am thinking of you, so what do you say," Victoria told her. Adolpha looks past her at the open door; she remembers her time outside. She knows it was brief, but it meant more to her than anything. "I will stay here; I have felt some freedom. Please let me live a little." Victoria saw some life in her; she saw she had changed.
Victoria knew she could not convince her, and dragging her in would be wrong. She decided to let her stay; "Very well then, we will continue as usual. When Lord Michael returns, you are on your own," Victoria tells her. Adolpha did not change her mind; she thanked Victoria.
Several days have passed since then; it was still cold outside. Victoria became concerned because they were running low on supplies. Sam was walking to his room when he heard a knock at the door; he opened it. A person from town stood before him, "Good afternoon, we have a delivery for you." More people brought some barrels and other supplies.
The man then hands Sam a letter, "Lord Micheal has sent this." Victoria heard what was happening and headed to the front door; the man greeted her before excusing himself. Victoria asked Sam about the man. Sam told her what he told him, "Lord Michael has sent a letter. Mike also walked to the front door; he saw the supplies outside, "What is that?"
Mike walks over to Sam. Sam gives Mike the letter. Mike opens the letter and reads it; he becomes shocked. Victoria asks for it; she takes it from Mike and reads it. Her expression changed; she had a worried look. Sam asks about it. Victoria turned and left; she called the others. Sam was confused and asked Mike about the letter.
"Good day, gentlemen; how has it been? You are wondering where I have been; don't worry. I know staying on the island for so long must have been tiring. You can relax now; I will allow you to continue how it was before. The visitors must already be dealt with. Wolf should not have had any problem dealing with them."
"How did he know about them," asks Sam. Mike replies that he didn't know; he continues telling him what the letter said. "King John has been looking into noble's dealings; it has caused me to stay in the capital longer. I am writing to you because I want to tell you that I am sending someone to look after you. He will help keep order and eliminate anyone stupid enough to mess with me."
Sam looked scared; he asked Mike what he meant by that. Mike didn't know. "It will take time for him to arrive there. Victoria, have the house clean for him; I hope for your sake, and everyone else's that my princess is safe and unharmed." Sam looks at Mike; Mike told him it would be fine. Mike finishes by telling Sam that the Kingdom was also going to war, "According to Lord Michael, there was an attack; they don't know which nation did it."
Sam and Mike head to the kitchen; Victoria is talking to the other maids. They seem concerned about the letter. "So, we will continue doing our job; Lord Michael's guest will arrive at some point. We will treat him with utmost respect; you will be all right if we don't cause problems." One of the girls asks about the situation with the other nations.
Victoria didn't know much about it, "It must be related to the incident where Queen Annabeth was attacked. King John must have been getting impatient, but that does not concern us." Victoria told the girls that they would resume taking care of Adolpha. After they were done, they headed back to work. Mike and Sam head to the living room.
Sam and Mike talked about Lord Michael; they were concerned about what he might do to them. Sam reminds Mike about what happened during the festival, "Not only did we ignore his order; some people showed up to kidnap the girl. If it weren't for Wolf, things could have been worse." Mike didn't like what Sam said, "Wolf isn't that great; he just happened to be strong, that's all."
After a while, Victoria came to see them; she asked them to go into town and buy a few things. Mike got excited and wanted to leave immediately, "Wait, I need to give you the list," Victoria shouted. Victoria gave him a list of other supplies they needed. Mike and Sam left. Wolf watched them from afar.
Work has slowed in town because of winter; only a few people visited the islands to check out the orchards. The rest of the townsfolk rested and stayed warm during this time. Mike and Sam reached the mainland; they headed to the shops. Some of the townsfolk saw them and greeted them.
"Good afternoon," a shop owner said to them. Sam greeted him back, but Mike said nothing. The shop owner laughed; Mike ordered what they needed and left. Sam was confused. They continued going to other shops; they stopped after a while to rest.
While they rested, they heard some marching. The townsfolk looked to the entrance of the town. Sam went to see an army of human soldiers marching south. The people said they were a group going to fight against those who attacked the Umbridge Kingdom. Sam returned to Mike; he told him what he saw and heard.
Mike wasn't paying attention; he was looking towards a known shop. The woman he went on a date with was working. Mike was feeling depressed; Sam told him to cheer up. Mike told Sam that they should head back. As they got ready to leave, a messenger approached them; he gave them a letter. Mike looks at the seal and panics.
Sam asked him if he was okay. "No, Sam, this is bad; do you know what this is?" "No," replies Sam. Mike said they needed to get home. On the island, Adolpha was getting ready to eat; she didn't eat breakfast because she felt sick. The maids gave her lunch; Adolpha ate but suddenly felt ill. She ran towards the toilet and threw up.
The maids got worried and helped her; one of the maids went to tell the head maid. Victoria came to see Adolpha; she was lying on the bed. Victoria looked at her; she saw her plate, "How are you feeling?" Adolpha said she felt sick. Victoria asked the maids if she had eaten. One replied that she didn't eat her breakfast.
Wolf was walking by and listened in on the conversation. Victoria had a look of disappointment. She walks over to Adolpha, "What I am about to tell you is most important. It is a mistake that I failed to see." Adolpha became scared. "Adolpha, you are pregnant."
Everyone was surprised; Adolpha was confused. Victoria again tells her, "Adolpha, Lord Michael will not be happy about this. You were supposed to stay pure until he came back; the fact is that you are not, and it will cause us some serious problems."
Wolf is shocked about it; he leaves to think about what he has done. He walks around the island. Mike and Sam arrive on the island and bring in the supplies. As they were walking, they were talking about the letter they got. Wolf overhears them, "Got it, we will blame everything on Wolf; when Captain Harris gets here, we will pretend not to know anything."
Wolf begins to shake; he remembers terrible memories. He was chained to a wall; a man was using magic to cause him some pain, "Are you going to listen now?" A hot knife cuts him on his arm. Wolf snaps out of it; Mike and Sam are by the front door.
Wolf walked up behind them; Sam and Mike turned around and saw Wolf standing behind them. Mike scared faints; Sam was frozen in fear, "Did you say Harris was coming?" Sam nods and studders, "We got a letter saying he was Lord Michael's guest; he is going to guard the girl."
Wolf left, and he went to see Adolpha; she was alone and talking to herself, "Oh, this could be good; I can be a mother like a mother was, but Wolf would be in trouble, and he could die. What do I do?" Adolpha was having trouble with what she was told.
Wolf feels helpless; he leaves for his campsite, "What will I do? Harris is…" Wolf stops and stares into the darkness. He looks back and sees the cabin; light from the house illuminates it, "What can I do?"
