A/N I'VE BEEN GONE FOR SO LONG! I've been really busy with work and studies and I have ZERO time at the moment but I managed to salvage this chapter from what I had done last year! Hopefully it won't be too long until I can finish this. Please review!
Beau and Velma were in the tunnel, trying to navigate in the dark because they had left their lanterns in the 'ritual room.' They had been linking arms the entire time, so they didn't get lost, Velma initially feeling to awkward to do so but realising it was for the best. Plus, they had to hurry to help Fred and Daphne. "Looks like there's a light over there. We mustn't be far away." Velma said softly.
"Mhm." Both started to move a little faster, careful not to trip over anything that might be on the ground as it was still quite dark.
"So, Fred and Daphne huh?" Beau casually said.
"What about them?"
"Well they're so obviously into each other." Beau lightly laughed; Velma rolled her eyes, but it would've been too dark for him to see.
"Yeah it is obvious. It's obvious for everyone except for each other."
"Wait… they have no idea that each of them likes the other?"
"I know, it's ridiculous." Each of them laughed, admittedly it wasn't the best time for this conversation, but they favoured it over an awkward silence.
"And what about you?"
"Me?" Velma reiterated. She didn't know what exactly Beau was hinting at.
"Well yeah. They like each other, so what about you? You're all close, do you like the Shaggy guy?"
Velma laughed hard at his words. "Me like Shaggy? He's like my brother!"
Beau smirked, "oops, my bad."
After a short silence, they reached the end of the tunnel, the entrance in the staircase. Beau climbed out first, reaching down to pull Velma up. Finally, they could see again, thankfully Velma wasn't blushing. "We could look in the library… if they have any books on this." Velma suggested, but Beau shook his head instantly.
"We don't have time!" It was then that the front door of the mansion which was across from them flung open, revealing Jacques, Shaggy and Scooby.
"RELMA!" Scooby yelled, running over to her and licking her face.
"Scooby! Shaggy! Thank god you're here. Fred and Daphne are through that tunnel with Lena and Simone. They're cat creatures!" Velma quickly explained but her words came out rambling. Luckily the others managed to understand. "Like we know. Jacques told us everything. We have these wax figures that must've been used for other victims." Shaggy replied and held out the dolls they had picked up earlier.
"We need to hurry and get something of Lena and Simone's so that the wax figures are linked to them." Jacques finished, Velma and Beau nodded in agreement understanding where the plan was headed. Beau's eyes wandered to the sitting room, fixating on a small corner table.
"There's a hairbrush." He began, going over to it to pick it up. "Blonde hairs. Simone."
"Great! Quickly find something that belongs to Lena then we can go and save Fred and Daphne." Velma instructed everyone. They split up and ran to multiple sections of the house to find anything that they could.
"Do what you want to me, but don't you dare touch her!" Fred yelled in the faces of Lena and Simone. The cat creatures glanced at each other, smirking as they did as they knew how vulnerable Fred and Daphne were in that moment.
"Naïve human! We need both of you, one for each of us." Simone cackled, raising her clawed hands above her head ready to come down onto Fred. Lena bared her teeth, just to instil even more fear into the two sleuths. Daphne clung to Fred as best she could, which was difficult with her hands bound together. She closed her eyes, she couldn't bare to watch them try to drain Fred and she was completely helpless. Simone grabbed hold of Fred's shoulders, he resisted as much as he could, after all he was a muscular guy, but he was no match for the strength of these 200 year+ cat creatures.
"Please…not…Daphne." Fred attempted to say, his voice draining with each word as the process of soul draining had begun. Lena was trying to get to Daphne but Simone and Fred were blocking her. Fred's face slowly started becoming more skeletal, his muscles weak causing him to drop to his knees whilst Simone still clung onto his shoulders.
