(SPIDER-MAN × TMNT)

HEROES IN A SUIT AND HALF SHELL

CHAPTER 1

Manhattan, New York — 7:33 PM

It's night time in New York city, the cold breeze blowing in the air between the bright, and tall buildings that make up this city. While the city is booming with all the people try to work for some cash in the morning, it's not much different when it's dark. Everyone is working hard to make a living for themselves, or to provide for their families.

At the bowels of this so-called 'City That Never Sleeps,' you have the sewers—the city's underworld where the light rarely shines, and anything putrid like trash, or contaminated water get flushed down to. Here, you can find worms, algae, cockroaches, rats, - and four mutant turtles.

Yeah, weird right?

Hidden from the world on the surface, in an old, abandoned train station, four humanoid reptiles are training hard in the art of Ninjutsu. Squatting on the dojo's floor, the four turtles prepare to test their strength and skills on each other in two separate pairs. The one wearing the blue bandana around his head, LEONARDO, is paired against the youngest of them all, MICHELANGELO—wearing an orange bandana. The other pair is comprised of one turtle wearing a purple bandana named, DONATELLO, and the other wearing a red one named, RAPHAEL. On the other side of the dojo watching the four is their humanoid rat sensei wearing a reddish-brown kimono, and holding a crystal-like walking staff, SPLINTER.

Standing stoically, he signals them all with loud and clear tone, "Hajime!"

Leonardo—armed with a katana—charges at Michelangelo wielding two nunchakus. The latter, with unshaken confidence, avoids the swing of the blade by jumping over him, and starts talking to his brother mid-fight.

"Oh, yeah. Michelangelo's in the house. Ya can't touch this!"

Continuing his flurry of attacks, Leonardo swings his blade while his brother keeps dodging them all; bouncing around all over him while still flapping his mouth.

"I'm over here. I'm over there. I could be anywhere."

Rolling to the back of his brother, Michelangelo prepares to strike next as he flings his nunchakus at his sides.

"How do you stop what you can't even see?"

Now, HE charges at Leonardo. Unfortunately, while he blindly charges at him, he left an opening. Using the hilt of his katana, Leonardo hit him straight to the stomach. The momentum of his running made the jab at his gut feel so intense that Michelangelo almost immediately fell to the floor, curling like he just experienced an upset stomach.

With his one-sided victory, Leonardo asks his beaten little brother, "Like that?"

The young turtle then replies in a weak groaning voice, "Good one, Leo."

With one fight over, the other one between Donatello and Raphael is still underway. Expertly twisting his wooden Bo staff, the turtle in purple prepares to fight. Meanwhile, Raphael bends his neck to one side and the other, making cracking sounds—clearly unfazed.

"All right, Donnie. I'll make you a deal: put down the staff, and no one gets hurt."

"You said that last time, Raph. And you hurt me regardless," says Donnie, not buying the offer after his past experience.

"Yeah, but less than I would have."

"Heh. Yeah, right."

Not falling for his brother's words, he swings his staff at him. Bobbing and weaving, Raphael avoids Donnie's attacks. The turtle doesn't let up as he keeps swinging, spinning, and jabbing his Bo staff at his brother. But Raphael isn't even breaking a sweat, and keeps dodging every strike Donatello throws at him. When he raises his staff to finally land a hit, his staff was gone from his hands a split-second later. Looking in front of him, he sees Raphael with his Bo staff in hand. He gives it a quick spin before easily snapping it in half.

Donnie, already defeated, asks him, "Should've dropped the staff?"

Raphael answers, "Should've dropped the staff."

Yup, should've dropped the staff. Raphael then starts beating Donnie's shell like he's beating a drum before turning around to face Leonardo. The two finalists face each other, while the two losers squat on their knees on one side of the room to see which one of them will come out on top.

The two turtles take a knee before standing back up with their weapons in hand— Leonardo; katana: Raphael; two Sais. With two combatants ready, they charge at each other, and their weapons clash, making a ringing sound that echoes throughout the dojo. Pushing their weapons against each other, the metals make slightly ear-piercing grinding sounds until they separate. The two brothers swing their blades around while adding in some punches and kicks into their moves.

Raphael dodges Leonardo's blade, and gave him a jab to the face with his elbow. He tries to follow it up with a slash with his Sai, but Leo quickly turns, and dodges it to sweep him off his legs. Quickly getting back up, Raphael blocks the katana's swing, but Leo threw one Sai out of his hand to the side—sending it flying between Donatello, and Michelangelo and sticking to the wall behind them. Now with only one Sai in hand, Raphael prepares himself for the next strike.

Without hesitation, Raphael and Leonardo charge straight at each other, and bring their weapons to another clash. But this time, Raphael redirected the swing, then knocked the katana right out of Leonardo's hand, and catches Leo's arm before using his momentum to throw him off his shoulder, and land him on his shell. With that, Raphael is victorious.

"Nice try, dude," he says to Leonardo with a smug face.

"Yame!"

With a loud voice, Splinter stops the training as he walks to the dojo floor where all of his sons all squat onto their knees, with Leo being the last one, and respectfully bowed to his sensei.

"You all did very well, my sons," the master compliments them.

But Raphael arrogantly adds, "But I did better," which earned a raised brow from Leonardo at his right.

Splinter corrects him with, "this is about self-improvement, Raphael. It is not about winning and losing."

Though, the smug look on Raphael's face means that he's still holding on to the fact that he outlasted his other three brothers.

"I know, sensei. Though it doesn't change the fact that I won, and they lost."

That reply only gave him a pinch on the cheek from Splinter. He winces in pain as he embarrassingly corrects himself at the amusement of his brothers watching him squirm.

"B-But what's really important is that… that we did our best! Good job, everyone!"

Satisfied with his words, Splinter lets Raphael go while letting out a mischievous chuckle.

Meanwhile, back on the surface, a jewelry shop is being closed as the shop keeper locks the doors on her way out, and puts her key inside her purse. Then, she makes her way to her car waiting on the parking lot. As she enters her vehicle, she starts the engine, and makes her way back home. But little did she know that in the shadows, some thugs wearing dark, stylized, punk-themed jackets slowly make their way to newly closed jewelry shop. Using a crowbar, one of them breaks the lock holding the door closed, and let themselves in.

Looking around, they see all different kinds of priceless accessories—ranging from necklaces, bracelets, rings, etc., and start looting the place without a care in the world. But while they help themselves to whatever they can get their hands on, their criminal activity isn't left unnoticed. A nearby surveillance tower has detected a criminal activity in progress, which sends a signal which not only notifies the police, but also someone else. Perching on top a skyscraper, a strange person takes out his cell phone to see a pinged location of where a crime is taking place. Looking at the screen, he squints his big white eyes, as he jumps off the building without fear.

.

.

.

A few minutes earlier, the turtles and Splinter all share a table and eat the only edible things they could find in the sewer: worms and algae. What other choice did they have? They couldn't just go up to the surface. Another thing is that these mutant turtles once were normal, but an unfortunate incident happened which resulted in their transformation into what they are now. Their Mutation Day occurred was exactly 15 years ago, making this day their 15th anniversary, which then technically makes the turtles 15 years old. And after all the training they've had since childhood, they believe that it's time that they go up to explore the surface. However, they're a bit too scared of their sensei to ask about it. While they understand that he's trying to keep them safe, they also know they can't hide in the sewers forever. Now the big question is, 'Who's got the guts to ask him first?'

Taking a deep breath in, and letting it out, Leonardo asks Splinter the question they've been meaning to ask.

"So, uh, sensei, now that we're 15, don't you think that we're finally ready to go up to the surface, and see it for ourselves?"

With the question finally out there, all they need to do now is wait. Hearing Leo's question, Splinter answers without hesitation.

"Yes…"

FINALLY! The answer that they've been waiting to hear for so long! They can finally—

"…and No."

Wait, what?

The turtles' celebration was cut short after hearing that last word. On Splinter's part, it was brutal of him to give his sons high hopes only to have it crashing down on them.

"You have all grown strong, yes. But don't forget that you are still young. You still lack the maturity to use your skills wisely," Splinter says as he leaves the table, and the turtles.

Turning to face them, he then continues, "Wisdom comes from experience, and experience comes from making mistakes."

Taking what he said into consideration, Donatello then asks him, "So, in order for us to gain wisdom, we first have to make those mistakes. In other words, we can go."

But Splinter shuts it down with a "No."

Donnie retorts with, "And yes?"

"No!" Splinter shuts it back down again, earning a frustrating sigh from Donnie.

Leonardo then tries to object but with respect to his sensei.

"Sensei, we understand that you're just keeping us safe, but we can't spend our whole lives hiding down here. You've taught us the art of Ninjutsu since we were kids, but all those years of training will go to waste if we don't put them to good use."

All the turtles agree with what he said. Splinter then puts his hand on his chin as he rethinks his decision of sending his sons up to a world where they've never been before. He can't deny that Leonardo's claim holds some truth in them, but as their father, he still fears for their safety. He glances back at the turtles, and notices that they are kneeling right in front of him while wearing sad, puppy dog eyes; begging him to let them go.

With a sigh, he conceded, and finally gave them the answer they've always wanted to hear.

"You may go. Tonight."

And with that, the turtles are about to embark on a new adventure—out of the sewers. Later, they prepare their weapons, and gear; psyching themselves up for what may happen on the surface. This will be their first step to maturity as they are about discover the world out of their home.

Leonardo's katanas are sharpened, and ready for action. Raphael's Sais are pointy, and waiting to kick butt. Donatello's staff, and Michelangelo's nunchakus are locked and loaded. The four stand stoically as Splinter sends them off on their journey.

"The world you will all be going to is a strange, and hostile one. So, maintain awareness at all times."

The turtles reply, "Hai, sensei."

"Stay in the shadows," he added just as they turn to leave.

The turtles reply again, "Hai, sensei."

"And don't talk to strangers," Splinter adds again.

The turtles reply again, "Hai, sensei."

"Everyone is a stranger," he adds again for the fourth time.

The turtles reply again with an annoyed tone, "Hai, sensei."

"Make sure you go before you leave! The restrooms up there are filthy!" then a fifth just as the turtles reach the stairs.

"Sensei!" they all say in unison, with mixed tones of annoyance, and begging to let them go already.

Finally giving up, Splinter sighs, and gave them a few words of encouragement, "Good luck, my sons."

Now without Splinter holding them back, they excitedly head to the surface—

"Look both ways before crossing the street!"

OH, COME ON!

.

.

.

.

.

In a random alley, garbage bins are filled to the brim with trash. Dirt everywhere, sticky unmentionables sticking out of the lid, flies buzzing around, and normal rats scurrying around this putrid section of the city. Smack dab in the middle of the open area, is a man-hole cover, and from it comes the mutant ninja turtles; finally, out of the sewers, and into the one of New York city's many alleys. Their noses take in the polluted air, as their eyes slowly process the sight of the few towering buildings occupying Manhattan.

Michelangelo exclaims in awe at the sight in front of them, "It's so beautiful."

Making the most out of the time they are spending out of the sewers, the turtles take a stroll through the city, and taking in all the new things they never thought they'd see in person. Leonardo, feeling adventurous, peeks through every corner they come across. Donatello notices an electric parts shop full of tech that he could potentially use to make all sorts of gadgets, and gears. Raphael finds a public gym in a nearby park, and he started doing pullups, and leg lifts. And as for Michelangelo, he suddenly finds himself mesmerized by the swirly in the middle of the switching neon lights. Raphael then pulls Mikey by the hanging bandana to meet up with the others.

"It's our first time out of the sewers and we're already seeing a lot of new stuff," says Leonardo, clearly still excited to see more of what the city has to offer.

"So, where do we go next?" Donnie asks him.

Suddenly, they hear a vehicle coming their way. Pulling over to the sidewalk is a police car stopping to the red traffic light hanging in front of them. Inside the vehicle are two cops out on their nightly patrol. While it is their job to keep the peace in the city, that doesn't keep them from yawning from boredom. As soon as the red light turns green, the car and the cops inside go on in their merry way, and continue their patrol.

Peeking their heads out of the dark alley, the turtles sigh in relief that they weren't seen.

"That was a bit too close. Those humans almost saw us," says Donatello coming out of the trash bin's shadow.

"What's the problem with that? Why don't we just wave our hands and say, 'Hi'?"

SMACK!

Mikey gets hit on the head by Raphael from behind. Michelangelo rubs his head in pain, and asked his brother why he needed to resort to violence all of a sudden.

"Ow, dude. What the heck was that for?"

"Did you forget what Splinter taught us? Ninjas stay hidden. We stick to the shadows," Raphael answers his forgetful and careless little brother.

Looking around, Leonardo searches for a way where they can continue exploring without being seen.

"We're too exposed down here. Come on, let's go high."

Following his lead, the turtles climb high up to the roof tops where they freely run, and jump; parkouring over the buildings like an obstacle course. Their silhouettes forming as the moon shines over them. Sliding over to the edge, they look over the city as the cold wind blows off of them. Tonight, was the most fun they've had in years.

"It sure is peaceful out here," Leo says to his brothers beside him.

"Sure is. I could get used to jumping on rooftops at night," says Raphael, clearly enjoying what amount of time they have outside the sewer.

"We haven't explored much of the city, but there's so many possibilities for us to discover," Donnie follows up, already imagining the many things that could happen in a big city like New York.

"Do you guys ever wonder what it would be like if we didn't have to hide from humans all the time? We'd be famous! Be superheroes, fighting bad guys, and whatnot," rants Michelangelo with head high up in the air.

"Oh, yeah. We'd definitely be famous. Famous for scaring them off, and having a mob of humans waving their torches, and pitchforks to kill us with," Raphael says sarcastically.

In a way, he is right; humans have a long history with responding negatively to things that they don't understand. So, the thought of humans immediately accepting them is just wishful thinking at this point in time.

Leonardo chimes in; supporting Raphael's claim.

"Raph's got a point, Mikey. We can't just expose our existence to everyone. Not only will that defeat the purpose of being a ninja, but it might put our lives in danger—even Splinter."

As unfortunate as it seems, that's just the way it is.

"Hey, guys, I see something moving over there," Donnie suddenly tells his brothers while pointing what he sees at the horizon.

"Where?" Leonardo asks him, squinting his eyes to find whatever it is that Donatello saw.

And then, he sees it too. A dark silhouette jumping and running across the rooftops with such speed and fluidity. The other two see the figure too.

"What was that?" Michelangelo asks.

"I have no idea, but whoever it was, he was fast. Another ninja maybe?" Donatello hypothesizes, limited with only what he knows so far, it's logical for him to assume that someone with those moves is also a ninja like them.

Thinking about it for a few seconds, Leonardo comes up with an idea.

"Let's go find out. But let's keep our distance. We don't want to get caught."

As he finishes, he and his brother follow the strange figure while maintaining a safe distance behind him—wondering who he is, and where he's going.

.

.

.

.

Back at the jewelry shop, the thieves are busy robbing the place breaking every glass of the display cases to snatch every piece of jewelry from their stands, and shoving them in their bags and pockets. The crooks move with a purpose, while leaving no accessory untouched.

"Make it fast, boys. The cops could be here any minute. Or one of those "freaks" might show up."

Aware that they can't stay here for long, they speed up their efforts; not wanting to get caught by the cops, or any random vigilante with a bleeding heart that want to stop them, and put them behind bars.

Suddenly… THWIP!

One of the thugs scream as he gets yanked out of the shop by an unknown party. While the others stayed inside to keep grabbing more jewelry, the rest move outside to meet the interloper. The guy that was just yanked out of the shop was seen hanging from the tall light pole on the parking lot; tied up in a strong, sticky substance. Looking up, the thugs see the person responsible perching on top of the light pole.

A man covered all over in a suit of red and blue, and his mask has two big white eyes with black outlines. The red of the suit is covered in web patterns. Then, smack-dab on the chest section is the black spider symbol.

The thugs immediately recognize him, and prepare to fight him.

"He's here! It's the Spider-Man!"

Dropping from the pole, he lands on a three-point pose to meet them face to face.

"Okay, you know the drill: just put those accessories back where you found them, and you'll get a reduced sentence—probably."

Spider-Man quips as he deflects an incoming punch to his face from one of the guys, and made him fall over by tripping his leg. The next guy has a crowbar in hand; he aims for his head, but the wall-crawler weaves away from the swing. The vigilante dances around the crook as he keeps missing every swing he throws at him. Jumping up into the air, he shoots two web lines from his wrists, and pulls himself back down to slam into him onto the ground—instantly knocking him out.

"Go! Keep him busy while we're still packin' this stuff!"

Trying to buy them some time, three more guys approach; trying to gang up on him.

Unfazed, Spider-Man makes another quip.

"Aw, you all comin' to see me? Don't worry, I got enough punches and kicks for everybody."

They attack him all at once, but Spider-Man dodges them easily, and starts thinning their numbers. He jumps onto one of them, and locks his legs around his neck before violently twisting his body to build enough momentum to instantly throw him onto the ground. Getting back up, he immediately turns his attention to the other two. The vigilante quickly gets into one of their faces, and gives him a left hook to the face, followed by a gut punch, and finishes with a powerful right uppercut that sent him tumbling backward onto the floor. The third one charges straight at him, but Spider-Man just catches his fists as he jumps over him to the back. Using the web lines attached to his fists, he locks his arms to his chest, and with a strong tug, the human-arachnid made him knock himself out with his own fist.

Meanwhile, the remaining two guys that just finished looting the store see that the others are beaten down to the ground.

"Crap, they got 'em!"

"Just move it! There's nothing we can do for 'em!"

Knowing that they stand no chance against the wall-crawler, they start running with tails between their legs with the bags containing all the jewelry they've collected. Unfortunately for them, Spider-Man ain't going to let them get away so easily. Shooting his web lines, he trips them, and pulls them upward, then finishes tying their legs together.

"Where do you two think you're goin'? Don't you know it's rude to leave a party without saying 'goodbye'?" the Spider-Man makes one more quip before he takes the bag with all the jewelry in them.

"Now, just stay there, and wait for the cops to come and get you. In the meantime, I'm just going to put all this back where you got them."

As some of the crooks groan in pain from the beating they just received, Spider-Man carries the bags into the shop. Meanwhile, on the nearby rooftop, the four turtles who witnessed the whole thing all sat with their eyes wide open—clearly amazed by the display of skill that the vigilante was showing.

"Dude, that guy's awesome! He just kicked their butts without even breakin' a sweat!" Michelangelo says giddily to his brothers, instantly becoming a fan boy of the man in the red suit.

"I can't believe we get to actually see a real-life superhero in action. D-Did you see how he just takes their hits as if they were nothing? And—and the way he uses his strings to make that one guy hit himself in the face..." Leonardo says in amazement, admiring the how easily he beat the bad guys.

"Meh, I could probably those guys down way faster than that guy," says Raphael sarcastically.

"My brain literally can't process what I just witnessed quick enough. This city just keeps getting more, and more interesting," Donnie then finishes.

As impressive as that fight was, it ain't over yet, as they—and the Spider-Man—hear the roaring of cars' engines closing in.

Skidding across the parking lot's pavement, three cars, and two vans arrive, and out them come more goons. This time, they're heavily armed with more melee weapons, and guns. That's right, GUNS! It seems they didn't take likely having a random vigilante in spandex meddling in their business.

"Hey, freak! You should've just walked away when you had the chance. Because now… you get to deal with the Purple Dragons!" says the gang leader wielding a metal bat with barbed wires wrapped around it except the handle.

But Spider-Man just scoffs at his empty threats.

"Pfft. 'Purple Dragons'? That's what you guys call yourselves?

"Let me guess: you guys play instruments during your free time? Because I think you guys would look SO much better in a boy band. And not to mention your outfits look painfully outdated like they're from the early 80s.

"Same goes for your hairstyles. You guys look more like street clowns than a street gang."

The gang leader took offense to that statement considering that he spent a lot of hours making himself look cool in front of his peers, and intimidating to all the average joe they push around in the city. And an arachnid in red spandex with a loud mouth dares to call his sense of style, 'outdated.' Oh, he is so going to make him pay for that.

Setting the bags down, Spider-Man walks out of the broken shop to meet his foes, and cracks his neck and knuckles as he prepares for another fight.

.

.

.

.

Walking from behind the gang, the four turtles emerge from the shadows, and make their first public nightly appearance. The gang took notice of the four new comers, and soon, so did Spider-Man.

"I don't suppose you guys are here to help these guys, right?" the web-head asks the four on the other side of the parking lot.

"Nope, we're here to lend you a hand," the turtle in blue answers.

"W-w-what— what the hell are these things?" one goon asks, clearly a bit terrified by the turtles' sudden appearance.

"Hehe. We're aliens, brah. Freaky aliens…" Michelangelo jokingly answers before he gets smacked in the head by Raphael.

"Actually, we're turtles. You can tell by the shells on our backs," Donnie corrects, not that the Purple Dragons care.

"Ninja turtles, huh? As if a street gang with an outdated 80s aesthetic wasn't weird enough already," Spider-Man says, acknowledging the new comers' presence, and throwing a bit more insults to the way the gang looks.

Having enough of them, the gang leader commands his stooges loudly.

"I don't care what they are, JUST KILL 'EM!"

And with that, another fight ensues: Spider-Man and Ninja Turtles vs. the Purple Dragons.

Dodging and blocking, Spider-Man fights multiple stooges at once; moving last second before the strikes hit, and countering with his own punches and kicks. Another guy armed with a crowbar starts bringing it down on him, but ends up missing and cracking the pavement instead. Getting a strong punch to the jaw, and a downward axe kick, Spider-Man knocks him out of commission. Jumping high up, he flips on top of the other guy's shoulders, then flings himself backwards with his legs locked around his head. Using his built momentum, he throws the guy to the others running toward him, and ends the move with another three-point pose.

With more crooks to take down, he looks to the other side with the turtles. They seem to be holding their own pretty well despite it being their first-time crime-fighting. Leonardo swings his sword around to block, and parry incoming melee attacks before countering with punches, kicks, and few karate chops. When he saw one aiming a rifle at his face, he charges straight at him with blinding speed, and slices the weapon cleanly in half.

"Yo, blue! Watch the blades, we're not trying to kill them!" Spider-Man shouts at the ninja turtle.

And said turtle replies with, "I'm not trying to, but you got it!" before continuing to fight.

Now onto Raphael, the turtle has been itching for some action since coming to the surface. And the Purple Dragons just made his day. Using his Sais, he easily disarms, and parries the goons' strikes before beating them so hard that their limbs hurt so much that they feel like they're about to break. Stepping up to face him is a huge brute; swollen with muscles, and armed with brass knuckles. Raphael simply just grins as he encounters a potentially worthy opponent.

"Alright, big guy. Show me what you got."

The brute throws punches at the turtle that are powerful enough to break the cement flooring beneath their feet. Raphael starts throwing punches and kicks at his body and face, but it barely fazed him. Dodging one of his punches, he slides underneath between his legs to the back. With nothing to protect himself from the back, Raphael kicked hard the back of his legs which brings him down to his knees. Flipping over back to his front, the turtle kneed the brute to his face; breaking his nose, and front teeth as he stumbles on his back knocked out and unconscious. With his victory against a tough opponent, he turns his attention to the others waiting for their turn to get a piece of him.

Rotating his Sais with his hands, Raphael puts a grin on his face, and whispers to himself, "This day just keeps getting better."

On Donnie's side of the fight, he seems to be holding himself against the Purple Dragons just fine with just his Bo staff. Dodging and weaving from the punches, kicks, and melees, he targets their joints to weaken them a little for him to knock them out with one blow. He suddenly finds himself surrounded by more men. They all charge at Donatello; trying to beat, and stab the turtle. Remembering his training, he stays calm and wait for them to come closer.

Then, when they're all within range, he planted his staff to the ground, and starts giving them all bicycle kicks to the faces while going round in a circle with the staff supporting his weight. Finishing with a stance, he knocks them all down. He relaxes a bit with a sigh as he gets ready to fight the next wave.

And finally, to Michelangelo, the turtle was having the time of his life just taunting the bad guys, and hitting them hard with his nunchakus. It's as if he's a little kid just playing around in a playground.

"Dudes, this is the best day of my life! Not only do we get to fight some bad guys, we get to help an actual superhero! People are going to be talking about us after this!" Michelangelo exclaims like a little kid.

Leonardo reminds the youngest turtle why that's not happening, for like the nth time.

"Mikey, we've been over this! The public can't know about us! Ninjas stay hidden in the shadows!"

"I know, but look at us! We're on a roll!"

Cutting back to Spider-Man, he keeps juking and countering bad guys left and right, while also witnessing how well the reptile new-comers are holding their own for their first fight. One guy tries to strike him from behind, but the vigilante moved his head, and caught his arm before throwing him to the wall, and webbed him up.

"I gotta say; you guys sure are taking this in stride! How long have you guys been doing this?" he asks the turtles mid-fight.

Spin-kicking one of the goons down, Leonardo politely answers the vigilante.

"We've been training for years, but—this is our first actual fight!"

"Really?" asks the vigilante, baffled that this is their first-time fighting crime while coming face to face with the Purple Dragon gang leader.

"Then allow me educate you with a few tips in crime fighting.

"Rule number one—"

Extending his arm, Spider-Man shoots a web-line to the guy about to strike Leonardo from behind, then yanking him to hit the gang leader he's fighting from behind.

"—if you're fighting an entire gang, always be on guard. Because they can get you from behind."

"Thanks for the assist!" the turtle in blue says to the wall-crawler.

Another one of the goons tries to get the jump on the vigilante in red spandex. But seeing him coming, he spins in the air, and knocks him down to the ground before he continues talking.

"Rule number two: Throw your enemies off balance! It'll give you some breathing room!

"Yo, purple! Use your stick!"

Donatello finds himself surrounded again. Listening to what Spider-Man said, he drops down, and sweep the legs of all the guys around him with his staff. His tip actually worked.

"I can't believe that really worked," Donnie says to himself.

Knocking out more goons with his nunchakus, Michelangelo then finds himself face to face against another brute. His towering presence intimidates the little turtle. The brute starts throwing powerful hits at him; each blow threating to shatter his bones, and maybe his shell too.

"Yo, dude! You got another tip for me?"

Beating down more Purple Dragons, the wall-crawler shouts his next rule.

"Rule number three: If you're outmatched in size, use your enemies' momentum against them."

Hearing what he said, Michelangelo readies himself for another attack from the big guy. Pulling his arm back, he throws another powerful punch. But Mikey moves out of the way, and catches his arm. Remembering what the vigilante says, he used the brute's momentum against him. Redirecting his blow, he made the big guy crash into the other smaller goons, and made him hit his face with a light pole—instantly knocking him out.

"DUDE! It totally worked! You see that, guys? I made the big guy hit his head!

"We should be taking notes from this guy," Mikey exclaims for his brothers to hear.

"Ain't no way am I letting a guy in a onesie teach me how to fight!" Raphael yells at his little brother as he flips one guy over his head, and throw him to the other guy.

Over to Spider-Man's side, after dealing with all the Purple Dragon stooges, all that's left now is the gang leader. Missing his swings here and there, the vigilante is just dancing around the guy as he just keeps wasting his energy trying to hit someone with superhuman reflexes.

"This is getting embarrassing. Here, let me help."

Spider-Man knocks the guy's death bat out of his hands before clocking him in the face so hard that he flung backward to the front of the van. With their superior numbers dwindling, there's only one option left to do.

"Dragons, fall back! Let's get outta here!"

Understanding that they stand no chance against them, they willingly followed the gang leader's orders, and fled the area inside their vehicles; leaving the other's that were beaten at the mercy of the vigilante, and the ninja turtles. With their vehicles disappearing, the lot is silent again, with Spider-Man and the turtles standing victorious.

"Did that… just happen?" Leonardo asks his brothers.

"Hell yeah, it did! We just beat up some bad guys, and they ran with their tail between their legs!" Raphael says, feeling good about himself, and for getting into a fight where he can finally let loose.

"You should've seen what I did to that one guy with all that paint on his face. He was like, 'Rraaghh!' and I was like, 'Hi-yah!'

"The guy is going to be eating his meals through a straw tomorrow," Michelangelo excitedly recites his first actual fighting experience.

"Guys, in all our years learning Ninjutsu from Splinter, this is the first real fight we've ever had. And it's on our first day on the surface," Donatello states to his brothers, to which they all agree.

"I guess all that training, and living in isolation for 15 years have really paid off," Leonardo says before they all clap their hands together for a high three.

This night has been eventful for these turtles. Not only did they get to explore various parts of the city, but they also get to fight bad guys with the help of a real-life superhero. So yeah, this is probably the best day of their lives.

Looking across the parking lot, Leonardo notices that the vigilante in spandex is gone.

"Wait, where did he go?"

His brothers turn their attention to where they thought he'd be, but they don't seem to see him anywhere. Instead, they see all the Purple Dragons they beat up all tied up together in one spot.

"He must've left them here so that the police could apprehend them later," Donatello hypothesizes as they approach the vigilante's handiwork while showing keen interest in the sticky bindings that's holding them down.

"Uh, Donnie, what are you doing?" Raphael asks his nerdy brother in purple as he bends a knee to take a closer look.

With his finger on his chin, Donnie explains himself, "I'm taking a closer look at this strange material that's tying these guys down."

"Can you tell what it's made of?" Leonardo asks out of curiosity.

"I might, but I'm going to need to get a sample so I can analyze it back at the lab."

Using a tweezer he brought with him, and a small dagger, the turtle manages to secure a small enough sample of the webbing inside a vial which he then puts inside his side pouch. Suddenly, they hear the faint sound of sirens, most likely heading their way. Knowing what they need to do, they jump up the building, and leave the scene. Soon, the cops arrived to apprehend the captured crooks.

Having enough sight-seeing for one night, the turtles find the nearest alley where they open the manhole cover for them to enter, and disappear back into the sewer.

Back in the lair, Splinter just sits in the dojo while waiting for his sons to return from their adventure on the surface. He takes a deep breath in, then lets it out; repeating the process to help him calm down. While he has no doubt in his mind that his sons will return, a part of him still worries for their safety. It is a natural, and understandable feeling; not just because he's their father, but because of his fear of the tragedy that occurred many years prior.

What lays on his lap is an album full of pictures of him, and the turtles when they were very little. Turning to another page, he sees a picture of the day he first taught them the art of Ninjutsu—the day they chose to follow in his footsteps. Looking away from the album, he sees a picture frame with a photo inside it. And in the photo is a Japanese man in a traditional kimono accompanied by a Japanese woman wearing another kimono in a different design than his. Right in the middle is an infant, held up by the woman close to her chest.

The photo serves as a reminder of who he once was, and what he had before everything was taken away from him. The man in the picture was Splinter when he was a human; going by the name, HAMATO YOSHI. The two beside him are his wife, TANG SHEN; and their daughter. As he reminisces about his past life, he can hear the chattering sound of his sons from the lair's entrance—letting him know they've returned safely. Putting the album back on the shelf, he exits the dojo to welcome them back home.

Walking out of the dojo, Splinter is relieved to see that his sons are home safe and sound. But as they returned home, he noticed that they returned much more enthusiastic than he'd seen them. He assumes that something good must've happened to them on the surface.

"Welcome back, my sons. You all seem very enthusiastic. I assume that something good happened upon your discovery?"

Whoa, did he just repeat what I just wrote? Does being a ninja master make you psychic or something?

Probably not. Maybe I'm just imagining things. Anyway, back to the story.

"Sensei, sensei…" his sons all say simultaneously trying to explain to him what went down.

They are so enthusiastic that their explanations of their experiences are mixing together in a chaotic wave of information that are just too much to process all at once. Splinter is happy to know that nothing terrible happened to his children, but he can't understand all their ranting.

"My sons please. I'm glad you have returned safely, but I cannot understand you if you all explain at once.

"Come, you each can tell me everything from the beginning."

Once they're all in the dojo, the turtles all share their current experiences on the surface. Starting with all the various buildings they find, to their first real fight, and their fateful encounter with Spider-Man. While Splinter is pleased that they are able to put his teachings to good use, he took notice about the last part of their encounter with the vigilante.

"So, he does exist," Splinter says which made the turtles turn their heads—wondering what he meant by it.

"Sensei, you've heard of him?" Leonardo asks on his brothers' behalf.

"I have only heard about him; whispers about a man that is capable of spinning webs, and trapping his opponents like they're his prey. Only he doesn't resort to killing them, but instead, he leaves them to be dealt with accordingly.

"And that he possesses incredible strength that can outmatch that of a charging rhino. From the way they spoke of him, he is seen as a sort of champion among the people.

"And you all saw him tonight?"

Unsure about how Splinter feels and thinks about their encounter with the wall-crawler, Donatello answers his question regardless.

"Uh, yes we did, sensei."

"Did he in any way attempt to strike down any of you?"

"No, sensei. He was just focused on taking down those jerks, and he just left once we've beaten them all down," Raphael answers him.

"Yeah, and he was nice enough to give us a few tips fighting those guys.

"Like that one time I had to fight a guy that's like THREE times as big as me, and he said, '…use his weight against him…' and I did just that. And it totally worked!" says Michelangelo, explaining to Splinter that Spider-Man ain't such a bad dude.

Then, Donnie immediately corrects him, "Actually, '…use his momentum…' is what he said, Mikey."

"Although, it would bring the same result, right?" Leonardo chimes in asking his brother.

"Indeed, it would, Leonardo. Based on your encounter with the man, it is safe to assume that he never meant any harm, and is a capable combatant in his own right if he can defeat multiple opponents with ease."

"It's not just that, sensei. The way he fought around those Purple Dragons, he moved so fast that it's almost like he knows what moves they're going to make before they even do it.

"Like he's already five steps ahead of them," says Leonardo, analyzing how Spider-Man fought.

Donatello then adds his own analysis about the web-head, "And not to mention he just bounces around them, and on the walls. Like he's some sort of animal."

"You mean like a spider? Y'know, since he can shoot webs?" Michelangelo tells them.

"Yeah, right," Donatello finishes.

"While I do share your admiration for this individual, it is a discussion for another time. All that matters now is that you boys are safe.

"It is time for all of you to get some sleep. You all had an eventful night," Splinter finally finishes as he makes his way into his room.

Just as he leaves the dojo, Leonardo asks one final question, "Um, one last thing, sensei.

"It's our first night out of the sewer, we put all the things you taught us to good use, and since we came home safely as promised…

"…Does that mean we can visit the surface from time to time?"

Leonardo, and the rest of his brothers were nervous as they await their master's response to the question he just asked. They had fun exploring the world above their home. Not only did they get to see a lot of new things that they have never seen in person, they get to put their ninja skills to good use by fighting bad guys; plus, they get to fight alongside a real-life superhero—which is a dream come true for Leonardo, AND Michelangelo.

But they know that even though Splinter gave them the freedom to venture away from home, he still fears for their safety. Splinter remained silent for a moment to give his son's question some thought, while they sit on their knees waiting for his answer.

Then, he makes up his mind. Taking a deep breath in, and letting out a calm sigh, Splinter finally gives the turtles their answer.

"As long as you remember everything that I taught you, and stay in the shadows, then you are all free to leave the lair whenever you wish."

YES!

The four turtles whoop with gratitude and excitement, and made several celebratory gestures knowing that they are now allowed to go to the surface whenever they want.

"But only at night. You can only roam freely in the day during emergencies.

"Good night, my sons. And sleep well," says the mutant rat as he slides the wooden doors shut.

Forest Hills, Queens, New York

Meanwhile, somewhere far from Manhattan, there sits a quiet neighborhood. Its residents getting a good night's sleep after a long hard day. Although, there are a good amount of them that decided to pull an all-nighter to get things done soon so they'll have it easy in the following day. Living inside a normal looking house is one such individual. Wearing only a plain white shirt and shorts, a young teenage boy—going by the name, PETER PARKER—is busy drawing, and writing down his ideas on a sketch pad.

Off to the side are ideas that he's already put, and is planning to implement them in the near future. Some of his ideas involve maximizing the storage capacity, minimizing consumption rate of web fluids, taser webbing, laser trip mines, ricochet webs, etcetera. If wasn't already obvious, this kid is actually SPIDER-MAN.

As he brainstorms for more ideas for new stuff he could use in the field, the thought about his encounter with the four ninja turtles popped into his head. He's been doing this super hero gig for almost two years, and he's faced some weird things throughout his career; like a face-stealing imposter, guys that shoot electricity, a man with a literally hard head, and a walking sand castle. Ever since getting his powers, his life was slowly getting further and further away from being called normal. But he still kept going, because the power he received came with a burden—a responsibility.

"Maybe I can think of something tomorrow…"

Closing his eyes, and letting out a sigh, he puts down the pencil, and closes his sketchpad before sliding it into a secret compartment in his drawer that no one but him would know about. He turns off the lamp, and sleeping almost immediately on the bed where his Spider-Man suit hides underneath.

---- TO BE CONTINUED ----

AUTHOR'S NOTES:

And with that, the official chapter of this new fanfiction crossover comes to a close.

Just to be clear the PREVIOUS CHAPTER is more of a TEASER than the ACTUAL beginning of the story.

As I sit back and plan on what will happen in the next chapter, let me leave you all with a hypothetical question: Which villain do you think is going to be the IDEAL big bad in this entire story arc, and explain why you think so?

---- A. Wilson Fisk / KINGPIN

---- B. Hammerhead

---- C. Alonzo Lincoln / TOMBSTONE

---- D. Martin Li / MISTER NEGATIVE

---- E. Sergei Kravinoff / KRAVEN

While the decision is entirely up to me, I still would like to get your thoughts on who do you think would be the MAIN VILLAIN for this story arc. I'd like to keep the story arc Street-level before I build it up to the MAJOR stories (like World-level, Space-level, Multiverse-level)

In case some of you didn't notice, I borrowed a few moves Spidey used in Insomniac's Spider-Man game. Since it was full of fighting moves that I could use, I figured why not use them in this story?

Anyway, I look forward to seeing how this story would fare as I try to take this even further, and let my imaginations run wild. Feel free to leave your reviews below. See you all later! 😉
