Episode 3-The Serpent of Doom
It was another day in Manhattan as Thor was battling Ulik.
"Ulik, you are not welcome here. Where did a troll like you get such a weapon from Asgard?" Thor asked.
"I think you have more pressing concerns, Odinson," Uilk shot back.
Then he blasted Thor back a bit, then slammed the ax on the ground causing a crack.
"What damage have you done?"
"You will soon find out."
Thor stopped him from striking the ground.
"Not again."
Ulik then punched him into a wall.
"Prepare for your demise. Long have I waited for this day!" Ulik declared before Iron Man and the Masked Matterhorn blasted him.
"Mind if we crash the party?" Masked Matterhorn asked.
"I'm running a scan on your playmate, Thor," Iron Man said while scanning the troll. "One second and I'll know exactly how to deal with.."
Ulik knocked Iron Man off balance.
"He is not of Earth. Even worse for you, there is magic involved," Thor replied.
"Call it whatever you want. To me, it's just science I haven't figured out yet."
Iron Man did his Unibeam as Masked Matterhorn did a magic blast then Thor threw his hammer right at the face.
"Have at thee, price of Asgard."
Ulik threw the ax right at him only for Thor to hit across the streets.
"Home run," Iron Man said as he fired rockets at Ulik, then Matterhorn froze him in place.
"He is down. There is a much more pressing concern."
"Yeah, lost Asgardian battle ax," Masked Matterhorn implied. "How bad are we looking?"
"Very. Ulik's arrival from the underwood is one thing. His use of the weapon reveals a terrible truth. An ancient legend that does not bode well for me."
"Which legend are you referring to?"
"The only one that mattered to me. For one this day. I may be destined to perish."
Hours later...
"We must find Ulik's weapon."
"Unfortunately, it stinks of your brand of science, which is keeping me on board from getting a fix on it. Tell us more about this legend. Why is the ax so important? ' Iron Man asked.
"It can't remain lost. If it falls into the wrong hands that weapon could mean the end of the world."
"Okay, let's circle back to the tower. I can rig something that will search a lot better than we can."
"And I'll have Zapp, Fill-Second, and Solaria search the city," Matterhorn said.
At the tower...
"How's the prisoner?" Cap asked as he and Mareveouls walked into Ulik's holding cell.
"So far he's the ideal house guest," Stark replied. "Ulik, is it? To what do we owe the pleasure?"
"Ask Odinson. My hatred of you knows no bounds. So I came here too if the legend was true!" Ulik shouted as Matterhorn muted the cell.
"And score another point for the so-called legend. Fortunately. I'm the kind of guy that doesn't let his friends go so easily. Let's hit the datacrux."
Moments later, Stark, Cap, Applejack, and Twilight were scanning for the ax with Thor pacing.
"The waiting is intolerable," Thor said.
"Listen, I'm using everything I've got to find Ulik's missing weapon."
"Thor, your life is up to you. Not a legend," Cap added.
"Each of us has a path that is fated to him. This is mine. I don't expect you to believe."
"Sorry, I don't cryptic. In the meantime, I think I've localized the specific frequency that caused the interference when I tried to scan Ulik."
"You found it?" Thor asked.
"You bet. Now let's see whose beach were are storming today," Stark said the scans show which all made them gasp. "Uh oh."
"The Latverian Embassy. That means..."
"So Doom possesses this weapon?"
"Why do I think there's something about this legend Thor isn't telling us?" Stark asked.
"I have my suspicions as well," Mareveouls told him.
Meanwhile, Doctor Doom was examining the weapon as Skull came online.
"Von Doom, you have usurped an artifact that is rightfully mine"
"It would seem you are mistaken, Iron Skull. The ax-hammer is mine," Doom retorted.
"I sent a squadron of agents to retrieve it. They became victims of accursed Doom dogs."
"Yes, a tragedy. But the war for world supremacy demands casualties. This weapon serves a purpose that only I can properly use. And so I shall.
"We have both heard the legend of its purpose but you are tampering with forces beyond control only together could we…"
"I am through hearing your pathetic sales pitch for this so-called cabal, Skull. This conservation…" Doom finger blasted one of his screens and grabbed the weapon. "..is over. And my own ascension has begun."
Meanwhile, The Avenjet was making its way to the Laveritan Embassy…
"Time to call the play," Iron Man said. "I've got everyone's task assigned."
"Please tell me about me detonating an explosive arrow right under Doom's throne," Hawkeye suggested.
"There is no time to waste archer. We must retrieve this weapon before any damage is done," Thor told him.
"I'm already bored here," Hulk added.
"Don't drag your knuckles yet, Hulk. We can't just bust in."
"Iron Man is right. Any move on the Latverian Embassy has to be handled to a sizable degree of delicacy," Cap said as everywhere looked Zapp.
"It was an accident," Zapp sternly said.
"Needless to say…Zapp, Falcon, Hawkeye, Cosmos you're the recon team. Above and below . We need to get as boots on the ground intel as possible.."
Then Thor and Hulk headed out and attacked the Embassy.
"And our two big guns just jump ship," Fill-Second exclaimed.
Then Thor and Hulk fought off the Doom dogs.
"Not a bad plan," Hulk said.
"This is no game, brute. The weapon is our primary objective," Thor reminded him as he bashed two Doom dogs.
"Who cares about that? I just wanna smash."
Hulk tore the ground as the rest showed up.
"Faclon, Zapp. you're air cover."
"Got it," Falcon replied.
"What are the odds Doom's on vacation?" Iron Man asked.
"Given our luck, probably not," Mareveolus said as she and Cap threw the weapons at the Doom's forces as Hawkeye and Cosmos went underground.
"This is Barton. Me and Starlight are under the embassy." Hawkeye said as walked they heard footsteps.
"I have a bad feeling about this," Cosmos said as they turned around and saw Doctor Doom.
"You are trespassing," Doom said before blasting them.
Outside...
"I think the last of them," Iron Man said.
"What's next?" Zapp asked. "Go inside?"
"Yeah. Find me something else to hit," Hulk exclaimed.
Then the ground came up and everyone saw Doom.
"You dare trespass on Latverian soil?' Doom asked.
"Is that it?" Cap asked.
"Yes. Its power rivals that of Mjolnir and The Thunderer," Thor replied. "So you do have it. How dare you carry a weapon of Asgard!"
"You want it bacK? Come and get it!"
The heroes tried to take the weapon but Doom fought back.
"Man looks like Doom's is stronger than he was before," Zapp said as she tried to grab the ax but it went right back to Doom. "How would he do that? That's a Thor trick."
Then Doom did a power slash at her, making their fall to the ground.
"What enchantment could this mortal possess?"
"It's not an enhancement, Thor, he modified it with Doomtech," Iron Man told him.
"Mods or not, its true purpose remains."
"Indeed it does," Doom slammed the ground causing a crack.
"You dare not tamper with legends older than human history."
"Too late. That which you fear the most is on its way."
"Falcon recon."
"I really don't want to know what Thor fears," Falcon said as a large serpent came from the underground.
"And that would be…"
"The Midgard Serpent. The end of all things," Thor said as the monster tore through the streets of New York.
"I'm getting a scan on our new playmate," Iron Man scanned it. "Is me or this actually getting bigger?"
"Once unleashed the Serpent will increase in size and mass until it is large enough to feast on the Earth itself," Thor explained.
"Wait, you're telling me that snake breath is gonna swallow the whole planet?" Zapp asked.
"Yes."
"This was Ulik's plan the whole time, wasn't it? How does it evolve you?" Mareveolus asked.
"I'm the only one who can defeat the Midgard Serpent. At the cost of my own life."
"Come on, Thor. It's another big lizard. We got more enough muscle and magic to send it back to the swaps," Iron Man said.
"Yeah, we do. No snake is gonna Goldilocks while I'm around," Hulk added then lunged toward the beast.
"Hulk, no!"
The serpent sends Hulk flying with its tail then it heads toward Doom.
"You are mine, Serpent," Doom created binds to trap it. "Doom is your master!"
Meanwhile, Cosmos and Hawkeye emerged from the pile of busted Doom dogs.
"Did we miss anything?" Hawkeye asked, then both of them saw the damage. "I'll take that as a yes."
"We've only gone for a few minutes and everything turned into a disaster movie," Comos groaned.
"Cosmos, Hawkeye, we need to get the people to safety," Marvelous said as bucked some falling debris.
"Zapp, we're obviously short of a big gun. A big green one. Find him and bring him back ASAP," Iron Man told her.
"On it," Zapp flew ahead to look for Hulk.
"You have fought well. If all that I am is to be ended on this day."
"Not exactly a win, even by normal standards."
"If I must fall so the Serpent falls then so be it."
Thor headed straight for it as Doom tried to control it.
"Soon you will be my weapon, beast. The rest of this world will bow before me!"
"No force on earth can control the Serpent, Doom!" Thor shouted.
"We shall see."
Both of them strike their weapons which cause an explosion and Thor was sent back then he landed and heads toward Doom only to fend of Doom's laser hand and did and did a power slash at him.

…
"Okay, if I was a raging green monster who was knocked by an overgrown snake where would I be?" Zapp asked, then she completely knocked him out. "Found, and just my luck he's out like a baby. Come, big guy, we got work to do. Man, I'm not giving him mouth-to-mouth. Well, Matters did say only do it in the event of an emergency, and this counts."
Zapp charged her amulet and brought forth a Thunderbolt that shocked just enough so he woke up.
"You better have a good reason for doing that," Hulk said.
"Yeah, fang-face causing a ruckus."
…
…
"I know the legend, and I'm the only one who can turn it to my advantage," Doom profoundly said as Fill-Second blindsided him.
"No, you're the only one foolish enough to think you can control a force you don't understand," Thor countered.
Both prepare to collide only to be stopped by Iron Man's repulsor blast.
"You two can argue about mythology later. Right now there's the issue of an enormous lizard doing his renovations on the Manhattan skyline," Iron Man said.
"Only I have the power to tame the beast and make it my slave."
"Well that's a great plan," Fill-Second said.
"And impossible. No mere mortal can control…" Thor said as he, Iron Man, and Fill-Second were knocked down by the Serpent.
"Thor, there's got to be a better way here."
"Only by sacrificing myself to the Serpent can the Earth be saved."
"No, I don't accept that."
"The legend can't be denied."
Both of them got blasted from behind by Doom.
"It is Doom whose destiny shall be destined today," Doom shouted as he blasted a truck with the ax.
"Nice trick," Fill-Second gawked.
"No tricks, creature. I commend this weapon now, And in doing so, will fulfill my promise to the world to rule with an iron hand. You cannot possibly fathom my capacity to rule. From this day forward, there will only be one true…" He was crushed by the Serpent's foot.
"Yikes," Fill-Second exclaimed as the Serpent tried to grab her but Matterhorn shot ice in its eye to allow her to escape.
"It's you and I," Thor said.
Then he struck the Serpent beast hard with Mjolnir then its tail knocked Thor into a building.
"Take me and spare the Earth."
The Serpent grabbed and prepared to swallow him.
"I enter Valhalla proudly," Thor said with honor only levitated by Masked Matterhorn making the Serpent chase after them.
"How dare you to interfere. The legend must be fulfilled in order to save this planet
"Sorry, I don't believe anyone's fate is set in stone," She firmly said.
"Sparkle's right," Iron Man came in. "Besides these age-old legends never mentioned the Avengers did they?"
"No," Thor agreed with him.
"Then get ready to write a new one."
Thor, Iron Man, Flii-Second, and Masked Matterhorn landed on a building.
"Thor, there are other ways of dealing with this, going ten rounds isn't going to solve it," Iron Man said.
"All we need to do is get it out of here," Fill-Second suggested. "So what, do you say?"
"I do whatever it takes."
Then all dodge from the Serpent's tail.
Iron Man, do you read me?
"Yeah Cap, where are you?"
We're at what's left of the embassy. Doom's back and you won't believe what we're seeing.
Cap, Hawkeye, Cosmos, and Mareveouls saw Doom riding the Serpent.
"This is the new world order, monster!" Doom struck the ax on its body as the others followed.
"Get him off of there, whatever it takes," Cap said.
"With pleasure," Cosmos said as she fired an energy blast right at him.
"Your interference is not welcome," Doom blasted them but they avoided it.
"This is madness," Thor said as they caught up with them.
"I've got an idea. How did Ulik get here? The same way you did?" Iron Man asked.
"Not at all. Trolls possess knowledge of hidden rifts that connect Earth and the Asgardian underworld."
"Then the first thing we have to do is the rift. I've still got Ulik's weird energy signal on file. Now discounting him and the weapon, let's see if we can find it anywhere else. Found one, I think."
He fired a small laser and small ripples were shown.
"It's like a pinhole in the fabric of space-time. It needs a bigger jolt of power to blow it wide open. Any ideas?"
"Aye. Only one."
Thor fired a lightning bolt to widen the portal.
"There. Ulik's passage to the underworld."
"Then let's make good use of it.."
Meanwhile…
"Serpent, you shall become a servant of Doom. Now and forever," Doom exclaimed.
"Uh, Iron Man, the situation has a crisis point," Cap said. "What is your status?"
"Just hang tight, I'll go high, you go low," Iron Man said.
"Indeed, we must drive it to the portal," Thor said as they attacked it.
"Doom this is insane even for you," Masked Matterhorn said.
"Let history be my judge," Doom said before firing a laser at her as the Serpent drove away.
"Guys, it's not working, we need more power," Matterhorn said then Zapp came on her comn.
Do you want power? I got something for that! Incoming!
"Ready, dude?"
"Ready for round two!" Hulk said as he and Zapp hit the Serpent hard driving it to the portal.
"Pour it on!" Iron Man rallied. "Doom! You need to clear it now!"
"Never! It is my destiny!"
Hulk knocked it into the sky and fell into the portal with Doom as well.
"Quickly, young Zapp, we must close it at once."
"You massive spark, coming up!"
Both he and Zapp did a lighting bolt and closed the portal.
"It worked. We've done the impossible. The Serpent's has ended."
"All in a day's work," Zapp said to him.
"What about Doom?" Cosmos asked.
"I imagine he'll have his hands full in their Asaguardian underworld?"
"Indeed, the Serpent will be the least of his problems."
"Yikes. Somebody better call damage control," Hawkeye said.
"Not bad out there, Falcon," Mareveolus said.
"Thanks, I'm thinking of getting the hang of this whole saving the world thing."
"That's what it's all about. You're just a house guest at Avengers Tower. Speaking which of.."
…
…
"What? It cannot be?" Ulik exclaimed at seeing Thor, Solaria, and Lunar.
"Surprised, troll?"
"I heard the Serpent's roar, the Earth trembled, if it's gone then you should be as well!"
"I decided my own fate. And Odin will decide yours in Asgard. Let it be known that our destiny can be rewritten."
