Episode 6-Hyperion
It was another night in New York, and people were running like crazy as meteors came down.
"Where the heck is Iron Man?" Matterhorn asked while seeing the destruction as she was flying then not a minute too soon Iron Man caught up.
"Sorry, for the delay. Sparkles," Iron Man said to her. "What're we looking at, Jarvis?"
A tight cluster of meteors is entering Earth's atmosphere at 200.7 miles an hour. Heading straight to the eastern seaboard.
"How large of a cluster are we talking about?"
From the scans, an explosion in the X-36 star quadrant. A planet, sir.
"Avengers Assemble!" Iron Man said as the rest of the team showed up. "Thor, Zapp, you're up!"
Both of them fired lightning bolts to destroy the stones.
"Stones from the sky, hardly a challenge," Thor said.
"Then sit down, butterscotch," Hulk said while riding the Avenjet. "Leaves more for me to smash."
Hulk jumped and his immense strength to smash then headbutted some of them.
"Well, that's using your head," Matterhorn magic blasted one.
"Whee!" Fill-Second said as the jet fired its weapons. "Cupcakes, we missed one!"
"I got it!" Cosmos jumped off and blasted it with an energy bolt then started to freefall. "Did not think this through!"
"Not to worry," Radiance caught her on a flying pink carpet just as Marevelous smashed with her forehooves.
"Your welcome," She said, then the three mares looked up to see a giant meteor entering the atmosphere.
Warning, a designated Class-Z meteorite has just entered the atmosphere. An Earth-Killer, sir.
"Earth-Killer? Two words I never wanted to hear together. Avengers, go!"
Hulk thunderclap it to lose its flames then he and Thor try to punch it and Matterhorn and Phoenix Blaze fire their magic beams at it.
"Keep at it! Don't let up! Hulk smash! Like you never smashed before!"
Hulk slams his repeatedly as his fist at the meteor then slam it to split apart only chunks crashing on the city.
"Ponyfeathers, we need more power!" Zapp shouted as everyone prepared for the worse.
"It's been nice working with you… What the cupcakes," Fill-Second as the meteor started to glow.
"Something's killing this earth killer. Jarvis?"
Scanning.
The space rock exploded into millions of tiny pebbles.
"What just happened?" Cosmos asked.
"Stark, was it you?" Matterhorn asked.
"Not on my best day."
"Pardon me, we got company," Radiance pointed over to someone.
"Who's that?" Marevelous asked.
"I don't think he's from space," Cap noticed.
The person winked then left, leaving a sonic boom in process.
"Did he just wink at me?" Hawkeye asked.
"Yep," Hulk replied.
The next day at Avengers Tower…
"Looks like we got a new contender for the title of Earth's mightiest hero," Stark addressed in the meeting room. "Calls himself Hyperion. A touch grandiose, even by my standards."
"On the contrary, he seems quite impressive," Thor argued.
"I've been analyzing this guy for weeks. His power ratings are the charts," Falcon said.
"How off we're talking here," Pinkie asked while eating pie.
"Heat vision. Invulnerability. Super strength, flight."
"Just another pretty boy in a cape," Hulk scoffed.
"Ahem," Straight gestures to herself and Thor since they both were capes.
"Wonder how his aim is."
"He diced a meteor the size of the Grand Canyon into cheese cubes. I call that accurate."
"I say it's time for a face to face. We could use someone like that."
"Says the guy who got winked."
"I feel we're getting off the more important questions, like what motivates this Hyperion?" Radiance asked.
"Some people hear the call to help where they can," Cap said. "There should always be an ideal."
"Agreeable, Captain, but on the other hand, who tells the man who saved the world without breaking a sweat, no?"
Much later….
"You have to be kidding me," Rainbow rolled her eyes as she, Applejack, Twilight, and Sunset watched the latest edition of DBC (Daily Bugle Central) of Hyperion's efforts have reduce the level of crime at a faster rate.
"Well, now speaking to Hyperion has become a priority," Twilight said.
"How are we supposed to find him?" Applejack asked.
"Got his position," Starlight said. "Hyperion shares the same energy signature as the meteorite dice so I was able to track him."
"So where is he?" Rainbow asked.
"Well you're not going to believe it."
The team boarded a large plane over the skies of New York.
"Wow! This is amazing!" Fill-Second exclaimed as they examined.
"Ah, the Avengers," Hyperion noticed them. "Forgive me, I was putting the touches on the statutes. Image is important. It's all about first impressions. Striking fear into the heart of the villains before I throw a punch."
"Looks you forget one power scan, Cosmos. Super hearing," Masked Matterhorn told her.
"I cannot tell you how pleased I am to finally meet you all. I have been admiring you from afar. Your abilities are impressive and wide ranged. Stealth, technology, unbridled strength. I mean there's a reason they call you 'Earth's Mightiest Heroes' in or out this dimension."
"You've been studying us?" Iron Man asked.
"You've been studying me too, right?" Hyperion countered. "It makes sense. I wanted to know what I was dealing with before I made contact. In short, I was very impressed."
"Can't say the same," Matterhorn implied.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Why?"
"Breaking the ice, your methods are a little extreme. Your power makes some people nervous. By that I mean we want to know who you are."
"Ah, my origin. I'm afraid it's not a happy one. Quagmire, display file E-712," Hyperion said to the computer then it showed the file. "On my planet, life was far different from yours. However it came with challenges. Villainy, corruption, and war had grown like a cancer on the soul of my world. I tried my hardest to carve it out, but sadly I failed. In the end the corrupt people of my world end up destroying themselves. There was nothing I could do. I barely escaped."
"So, you're an alien, the last of your kind, with both awesome powers and super intellect?" Falcon asked.
"Indeed."
"Ponyfeathers! I miss another one," Cosmos groaned.
"All that remains of my home is in this citadel. With this technology, I will use its advancements to save your planet."
"Save our plant?" Cap asked, then Hyperion used his super hearing.
"Hold that thought. Some people don't learn from their mistakes. Make yourselves at home, I'll be right back," He said then headed out.
"I don't like where this is going," Saddle Rager admitted.
Meanwhile…
"I'm not trying to escape! It wasn't me! You can't prove nothing!"
"Silence! You had a chance of reformation, villain. You're a stain on this planet's face that I shall wipe off. Permanently."
Hyperion fired his heat vision and fired at him but Zapp deflected with a lighting blast.
"What the buck, man!" Zapp exclaimed as she was joined by Matterhorn.
"Zapp, I would advise you to stay clear of my eye-beams when…"
Then Matterhorn fired an ice beam at him and wiped the ice off his face.
"There won't be a next time."
"Why are you stopping me? I thought we were on the same side."
"Avengers, don't take lives. We save them." As the rest of the team showed up.
"But this scum adds nothing to the good of Earth. He's a parasite."
"True, but we don't play judge and jury," Radiance scoffed at him. "If we don't follow them, we're no better than the criminals."
"Do yourself a favor, and stand down," Marevelous told him.
"Or else," As Cosmos and Phoenix prepared their horns.
"I understand."
"You do. I thought we were gonna fight you or something," Fill-Second exclaimed then she saw his eye glowed red. "Oh crud…'
"It was the same on my planet, if you're not part of the solution then you're part of the problem!"
He fired his heat vision at them but all of them dodged at the last second then Iron Man collided into him.
"Says the guy blowing half of New York!" Iron Man said then blast a pulse blast at the eyes.
"The bridge!" Phoenix Blaze use her magic to hold it together.
With Iron Man, he fired his rockets at Hyperion with him dodging them and slamming his fist to him then lunged at him but Cap threw his shield to knock him off.
"Hawkeye, Widow, Radiance get the civilians off this bridge now. Zapp, clear out the Wrecker."
"On it," Zapp said then hosted the bad guy on her then flew off.
"Your not helping anyone, solider. Believe me. Peace through force is the only coruse that works. Your posining them with you soft ideals.
"How this for soft?" Hulk asked.
Hulk spear him off the bridge an into the ocean. Both punch each other in the face then Hyperion eyebeam in the face then trap underwater then slammed on the head.
"I could use a little help here," Phoenix requested then Iron Man place a truck on the holding.
"That should hold. Go, and show him the fire."
"Glady, Stark."
Phoenix headed off to face him.
"Allright, Hyperion, let me show why they call me Phoenix Blaze," Her eyes glowed.
She blasted a massive fireball at Hyperion which made direct contact and sended him all the way to Times Sqauare and crashed into a billboard.
"Do not run! I am here to bring you law, order and peace!"
"Fat chance buddy!" A kid threw a rock at him then Hyperion hosted him in the air.
"Why do you fight me? Must I save you even from yousleves?"
Radiance fired diamond blast from her horn which made him let the kid goes then Matterhorn flew in and save the little boy.
"Thanks, Matters," he said to her.
"Don't mention it," Matterhorn before looking at Hyperion. "You have a lot to answer for. Stand down. Final warning."
"Last warning. That's what they said on my planet too. But I showed them."
"Showed them?" Matterhorn asked herself then realized something. "Keep him occupied."
Matterhorn flew out of the city.
"Uh, Matters, where are you going? We're in the middle of something!" Fill-Second exclaimed as she went after her.
"At least someone had some type of sense."
Then Fill-Second stopped dead in her tracks.
"Oh yeah?"
Fill-Second tackled into him then sped off of him.
"Have to admit I didn't see that coming," Hyperion chased after her.
"I'll be full of surprises."
"I'm going to save you, whether you like it or not!"
Hyperion closed the gap but the speedy mare kicked him in the eye.
"You save us? How about no thank you," Radiance offered then hit with a pink bat.
"Your mind can't comprehend what comes next if you continue this path. Humans are flawed!"
He fired his eye beams at her but Radiance created a pink shield to block them.
"First of all, I'm a pony that's a little rude. And second, like humans, you have no idea what humans and ponies can do. You look at our compassion, our patience, our belief in personal dignity and see weakness. You have power, and it has blinded you."
Hyperion punched her then grabbed in the air.
"You only delay the inevitable! Why?" He asked her but Radiance replied with a smile. "A distraction. My citadel!"
He dropped to the ground and headed out.
"Uh, darling," Radiance contacted Matterhorn. "Whatever you're doing, do it now. Because trouble is coming at mach speed.
At the citadel, Matterhorn was using her magic on the area.
"Uh, Jarvis, might want to pick up the pace here."
Patience is a virtuance, Miss Sparkles.
"Matterhorn!" Hyperion came through the roof and confronted.
"Hyperion. I was wondering is there an open spot on your team."
"What I want is you to be gone."
Hyperion came at her with a punch but Matterhorn teleported herself away from him.
"Jarvis?"
His computers are as powerful as him, ma'am. Doing everything I can.
"Play possum, til you access them, on it."
Hyperion fires an eye beam at her but Matterhorn countered with a fire blast.
"Hyperion, I got a question for you. Before you destroy me. If Earth is a crummy place, why call it home?"
"I chose Earth because it was weak and in need of saving."
"Chose Earth? You're saying you looked over your options and thought you can become the top of the food chain here?"
"I offer you peace and order!"
"From the looks of it, the Avengers were going to your rebound team."
"Unlike you, they were able to do whatever it takes to get the job done."
Matterhorn fire a magic blast but Hyperion moved to the side.
"To think I was think you were worthy to be on my team," Hyperion chuckled then it powered down. "The stablizers!"
"So what they are. I knew they were important."
Hyperion fires an eye beam at her but Matterhorn ducks under.
"Jarvis! If you got anything, now it would be a good time to show it."
"It's over! I have defeated you and the rest of the Avengers."
"Just like you did to own," Matterhorn replied as the projector came on. "No, you enslaved them. Just like you want to enslave us."
"I offer them something better."
"You drove them to fear and desperation."
"They refuse you."
"You made them hate you. They didn't destroy themselves. You destroy your own planet when they wouldn't listen to you."
"They didn't deserve me. They wouldn't listen. I tried to teach them right from wrong. They chose wrong."
"I'll let in on something, Hyperion. We ain't perfect. And you're not perfect. You're not even a hero. You're a criminal. Oh, by the way. You might want to seek shelter."
Matterhorn teleported out of the citadel leaving Hyperion confused but it was too late as Zapp crashed through the roof and shock with a large lighting bolt.
"Loser," Zapp said.
Much later…
"You call it, Rarity, Hyperion played us for fools," Starlight admitted to her. "And to think I wanted him to join us."
"Think nothing of it," Rarity said. "I'm glad that Twilight found out his true colors before it was too late."
"Uh, that reminds me of Twilight. Hulk wanted to know where you kept him" Fluttershy asked. "I think he wants a second go at him."
"Tell him he's going to have to wait a long time," Twilight said as she shows Hyperion locked in the Vault.
"Release me this instant! There will be a coming threat. There always is. And you will need me. You'll see! I am Hyperion! I will.."
Then Rainbow turned the camera feed off.
"UGH!" Rainbow exclaimed. "Who needs him! We're better off without that guy."
Everyone else nodded in agreement.
