"I did not expect to see you here." Tammy said as she stared at Lynn.
Lynn gasped before getting out her laser gun and aiming it at Tammy. "Stay back!"
Tammy raised her hands. "Whoa! Calm down. I'm not here to hurt you."
"What are you doing here?" Lynn asked, trying to hide the fear in her voice.
Tammy chuckled. "Well, technically, I do own this house." She glanced over at Crocubot and Noob-Noob. "We were informed that you ran away from home and that there was a chance you might show up here. Guess we got lucky."
"What do you want from me?"
"I'm just curious about what happened. Did Rick do something to your eye?"
"Why should I tell you anything? You killed Birdperson then tried to kill us!"
"I know Rick probably wouldn't tell you this but Birdperson was a criminal. A lot of gromflomites lost their lives because of him. We set up that wedding so that we could catch other criminals who've committed crimes against the Federation." Tammy frowned slightly. "I didn't exactly want the rest of your family to get caught up in it."
"Yeah? Well, so what? Your weird space federation took over the Earth!"
Tammy rolled her eyes. "We didn't 'take over the Earth'. We assimilated it into the Federation. I know it was probably a difficult adjusting period but if things hadn't happened the way they did, Earth would've benefited greatly from it."
Lynn started to lower her gun. "How are you guys even still around? I thought Rick destroyed the Federation?"
"He didn't destroy the Federation. What he did was make our currency worthless. Something that everyone still living on Gromflom Prime is still suffering from. Did you know that most of the gromflomites there are starving and have to eat their own unborn hatchings just to survive?" Tammy noticed that Lynn's expression was rather mixed. "Look, I'm not here to force you to do or say anything. I just want to talk."
Lynn frowned in thought for a moment. "I ran away because...Rick's bad luck."
Tammy raised an eyebrow. "Bad luck? I guess that's one way to describe him."
"I need to get rid of him." Lynn said without really thinking.
Tammy smiled. "Well, it looks like we have a common enemy then. Why don't we help each other?"
Lynn scowled. "I don't need your help! I don't care how much bad luck Rick is! I can take care of him myself!"
"Ok, then what's your plan to get rid of him?"
"Once I tell my parents about Rick's bad luck, I just know they'll kick him out."
Tammy gave Lynn a look of bewilderment. "Uh, you know this is Rick we're talking about, right? What if he just brainwashes your parents or makes them forget about it?
Lynn frowned. She hadn't considered that. "I...I dunno. But I'll think of something. I'm not gonna lose to him."
"Ok, well what if we could offer you back up?"
"What do you mean?"
"You live with him so you may know more about Rick than we do. If you know any of his weaknesses or about something that might be able to take him down, call us and we can help you."
"And how exactly would you do that?"
"Easy. We just need that portal gun."
Lynn gave Tammy a suspicious look. "What?"
"If we had that, we would have access to anything in the universe. Helping you would be a cinch."
"How do I know I can trust you?"
Tammy sighed. "Look, I genuinely did not want your family to get involved in all of this. I'm sorry about what happened at the wedding. And you have my word that the Federation will never come near Earth again. We just want Rick out of the picture."
Lynn raised an eyebrow. "Wouldn't Rick get suspicious if I came back home without a portal gun?"
"Use this." Tammy then got out a completely wrecked portal gun that she had taken from Crocubot and Noob-Noob upon defeating them. "Go home and pretend you have amnesia. It'll be like you never left home. It's not exactly a perfect plan but at least Rick won't press you about it."
"How am I supposed to contact you?"
"You still have those upgraded phones right?" In hindsight, Lynn was glad that she had left her phone at home before going on that adventure. "Here's my number." Tammy handed Lynn a piece of paper that had her number on it. After memorising it, she handed it back over to Tammy.
Lynn contemplated this idea for a moment. She didn't exactly want help but she knew what Rick was capable of. Having a backup plan if all else fails couldn't hurt, right? She didn't exactly like the idea of cheating but if that's what it takes to win then so be it. "Fine, deal. But don't be surprised if I never call. If I can just prove to my family that I'm better than him and get them on my side, I know they'll listen to me."
Once again, Tammy looked bewildered. "Uh, sure."
Lynn took off her cloak and dropped her laser gun as well as everything else she had with her that she didn't have before running away, besides her eyepatch. She then got out her portal gun before firing a portal to her home before exchanging portal guns with Tammy. Lynn then stuck her head through the portal to check if anyone was around before stepping through.
Once the portal closed, a gromflomite soldier gave Tammy a concerned look. "Ma'am, are you sure we should've just let her get away?"
"We have this now, don't we?" She said as she admired the portal gun. "Besides, I just know she'll call us back." She had never talked to Lynn when living on Earth but she knew from Lori how overly competitive and stubborn she was. If Rick was in any way responsible for what happened to her eye, she wouldn't stop at anything to get payback.
The next time Tammy heard from Lynn, she was furiously sobbing about how much she wanted Rick dead before telling her about a strange item called an infinity ball.
...
Lynn grinned as she marked an X on her calendar. "Finally! Today's the day for the big game!" She exclaimed to herself. She was currently wearing her soccer uniform which included a sweatband that had five orb-like jewels knitted into it. She headed out of her room to make sure everyone was ready to watch her triumph. "You guys ready? The game's starting soon!"
The door to the twins' room opened up first as Lola, currently wearing a pink leotard, cartwheeled out of her room before performing a jump flip and landing a perfect split. "Ready!" Lola answered. "Gah!"
She was then tackled to the floor by Lana, who was wearing wrestling gear. "Gotcha!" Lana shouted as she put Lola in a headlock.
"Get off of me!" Lola shouted as she managed to push Lana off of her. "What is your problem?"
Lana shrugged. "Sorry, Lola. I've got alligator wrestling later on today, after Lynn's game of course, and I wanted to practice."
"Well practice on someone else!"
Lynn chuckled at her younger sisters before she noticed Luan leave her room, riding a unicycle. She approached. "Hey, Luan! Ready to watch me dominate today?"
"Sure am! Though I always wondered, how come we call the game where you have to carry the ball, football, but call the game where you actually kick the ball, soccer?"
Lynn stared at Luan for a moment before shrugging. "I never really cared about any of that."
"Well, ok then!" Luan exclaimed enthusiastically before cycling towards the stairs. "Ah!" She yelped as she inevitably fell down the stairs.
Lynn suppressed a chuckle before noticing Lisa leave her room along with Lily. Lisa was currently dressed as a coach. "Hey, Lisa. Got any tips for today's game?"
Lisa shook her head, smiling. "I'm afraid not. You are the greatest soccer player in the world after all. There's no advice I could possibly offer you."
Lynn chuckled. "Thought so."
As Lisa took Lily downstairs, Lynn noticed Leni exit her room. She was wearing a seafoam green crop top with leggings and was using a jump rope. "Hey, Leni, you-"
"Can't talk! Need to stay fit!" Leni interrupted Lynn before she stopped jumping and jogged down the stairs.
Luna then jumped out of her room, strumming her guitar. She was wearing a red headband with black stripes, a yellow sweatshirt and a red skirt. "What's up, Lynnsanity? You ready to rock the other team's world?"
Lynn grinned. "You know it!"
Lynn then noticed Lori leave her room, talking on her phone. She was wearing her golfing outfit while holding a golf club. "I know, Bobby, but I'm busy today. I have to see Lynn's game plus, I need to work on my golfing. I need to get a couple strokes off my game. Don't worry, I'll come see you tomorrow."
"You ready for the game?" Lynn loudly interrupted.
Despite the rude interruption, Lori immediately hung up her phone, smiling. "Wouldn't miss it for the world, Lynn."
Lynn then realised Lincoln hadn't left his room yet. She went over and knocked on his door. "Lincoln, come on! You're not bailing on me are ya?"
Lincoln then opened his door. He was wearing a red shirt with a white stripe and some red shorts. "Sorry, I was just getting ready. There's no way I'd miss one of your games."
Lynn beamed at her favourite younger brother.
...
As the family left the house and made their way to the van, Rita suddenly realised something. "Wait a minute, where's Lucy?"
As if on cue, Lucy then bursted out of the house and started dancing. She had her hair up in pigtails and was wearing a red cheerleader's outfit as she cheered for Lynn, holding some yellow pom-poms. "Give me an L! Give me a Y! Give me an N! And again! What's that spell? LYNN!" Lucy exclaimed as she finished cheerleading.
The rest of the family clapped for her. "Nice one, Lucy." Lynn complimented.
However, while everyone else was clapping, Lincoln found himself distracted by Mr. Grouse's abandoned, boarded up house. He wasn't sure what happened but it seemed like Mr. Grouse just disappeared one day. Despite knowing this though, he could never shake the feeling that someone or something inside that house was watching him.
"You okay, Linc?"
Lincoln snapped out of it as he saw Lynn giving him a concerned look. "It's nothing. I'm just gonna go check on Grandpa Rick before we go."
Lynn rolled her eyes. "Really? I don't know why you waste time on that old fart."
"Well, he is part of the family." Lincoln argued before making his way to the garage with Lynn deciding to follow after him.
The two entered the garage to see an elderly, frail old man who was keeping himself busy playing with his chemistry set. He was wearing a pair of glasses and a blue sweater. "What a loser." Lynn thought to herself.
"Hey, Grandpa Rick." Lincoln greeted. "What are you doing?"
Rick jumped slightly as he'd been in deep concentration before looking at his grandchildren. "Oh, h-hey kids. I-I'm just w-working on my ch-ch-chemistry stuff is all."
"You sure you don't wanna join us for Lynn's game?"
Rick shook his head. "Oh, you know, I-I don't think those games are for me b-but you kids have fun."
A mischievous grin then appeared on Lynn's face as she noticed a flask near the side of Rick's workspace. "Oops." She said as she tipped it over, spilling its contents onto the floor.
"Oh geez, what did you do that for?" An upset Rick asked as he immediately went to go clean the mess. "Ugh, my back."
Lynn laughed to herself as she left the garage. Lincoln followed her with a mixed expression on his face. "That...wasn't very nice."
Lynn waved her hand dismissively. "Ah, it's no big deal. It's not like I got him electrocuted or something like that." She chuckled for an uncomfortably long time.
Lincoln watched as Lynn entered the van, taking the sweet spot as she usually did. Lincoln glanced up towards the blood red sky before entering with her.
...
"LYNN! LYNN! LYNN!" The whole crowd chanted as the game began. Lynn's team consisted of no one but herself. She was the only person solely representing her team. The other team consisted of the greatest and most famous adult soccer/football players in the world.
Lynn ended up thoroughly trouncing them.
...
To celebrate Lynn's victory, the family had decided to head over to the Burpin' Burger. Upon entering the restaurant, everyone inside cheered for Lynn. "Thank you, thank you." She said as bowed to everyone.
Everyone that was in line stood aside, letting Lynn get to the front while the rest of her family took a seat. "Sup, LJ?" The cashier greeted. "You here for the Lynn special." He asked, referring to an order that had been renamed in her honour.
"You know it, I'll take a dozen for my fam too."
"And that'll be free of charge, obviously."
Lynn grinned. Of course it was free. No one was going to charge the President of Earth after all.
...
It didn't take long for Lynn's order to arrive as everyone started eating their burgers (apart from Leni, who was eating a salad). As they were eating, a man approached the table along with his young daughter. "Don't mean to bother you, but my little one would love to meet Lynn Loud. She's a huge fan, she even made her own jersey." His daughter then showed off the back of her jersey, which had the word 'Lynn' knitted into it.
Lynn smiled at the girl. "Honored to meet you. Next game, I'm gonna score a goal just for you."
As the father and daughter left, Lincoln gave Lynn a look of admiration. "You really are amazing Lynn."
Lynn chucked. "I know."
Lincoln then looked slightly embarrassed. "Man, I wish I was half as good at sports as you are."
"Well, I don't think you'll ever make it to my level but I could help train you to be better."
"You'd do that for me?" Lynn nodded. "Thanks! But..." Lincoln frowned. "I don't know. I don't seem to be good at any sport to be honest."
Lynn raised an eyebrow. "Come on, there's gotta be one sport you're good at. Don't worry, I'll help you find it."
After she and Lincoln finished their meals, Lynn stood up. "Me and Lincoln are gonna walk home so we'll see you guys later." Lynn announced before she and Lincoln made their way out of the restaurant.
"Why are you doing this to us?"
Lynn paused, blinking in surprise before turning to Lori. "Huh?"
"We really wanted you to ride home with us." Lori admitted.
Lynn stared at Lori for a moment before shaking her head. "Oh, uh, sorry but me and Lincoln have got plans for the rest of the day." She then grabbed Lincoln's arm and hurriedly rushed out of the restaurant.
...
As Lincoln and Lynn walked down the street, Lynn asked. "So, what do you wanna try first?"
"Well I-" Lincoln was interrupted by a scene happening down the street.
"Hey, watch where you're going, jerk!" One man shouted at another.
"How about you stay outta my way!" The other man shouted back before the two started brawling.
"Well?" Lincoln turned back to Lynn giving him an expecting look, not at all bothered by the fight happening nearby.
Lincoln scratched the back of his head. "I'm not really sure. What do you think I should try?"
"Why don't we try football? I can teach you everything you need to know about that one."
Before Lincoln could reply, the two passed by a man carrying a large bag of money. Once he was out of earshot, Lincoln asked. "I wonder where he got all that money from?"
Lynn shrugged. "Who cares? Anyway, what do you think?"
"Well, I guess I could give football a try."
"Great!"
As they continued walking home, another incident was occurring nearby.
"Hey, cut it out!" Lincoln recognised Clyde's voice.
"Make us, dork!"
Lincoln looked over to see Clyde getting shoved around by Hank and Hawk. "Clyde?" Lincoln was about to move forward to interfere when Lynn placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Forget it, Linc."
"But, shouldn't we do something?" Lincoln tried to argue.
"Even if we did, it's not gonna change anything. Some people are winners and some people are losers. That's just the way the world works. You don't wanna be one of the losers, right?"
Lincoln thought for a moment. "...no."
Lynn gave a satisfied nod. "Good. Because you definitely don't need to hang out with people like Clyde." While she felt like she was being slightly harsh, this was just how the world worked. People took justice into their own hands. If anyone has an issue, it's up to they themselves to solve it. The strong thrive while the weak are left behind.
And considering Lynn was the strongest woman in the universe, that suited her just fine.
...
After getting changed into her regular outfit (though the sweatband stayed), Lynn was in the backyard with Lincoln as he was holding onto a football. "Alright, let's see how far you can throw it."
Lincoln reared back, perhaps a little too strongly as he accidentally threw it back. It bounced off of a tree before hitting him in the back of the head. "Ow!"
Lynn tapped her chin. "Hmm, that could use some work. But let's see how good you are at catching."
After instructing Lincoln to stand back a bit, Lynn picked up a ball. "Hike!" Lynn shouted before throwing it.
Lincoln ran back as he tried to catch the ball, only for it to hit him in the face. "Ow!" He crashed into the ground. As he laid there, he noticed Lynn approach him, looking somewhat disappointed. "Uh, so how did I do?"
"You know, I think your problem is you just don't have the body for this. We should focus on working out. Maybe starting with some push ups."
Lincoln sat up, looking somewhat nervous. "Um, maybe we should try and find a sport I really like before focusing on working out. I don't think football's really for me."
"Ok, but what should we try then? Isn't there any sport you think you might like?"
Lincoln thought hard for a moment. "I guess...badminton might be fun?"
"Great, then let's try that!" Lynn said as she grabbed Lincoln's arm and pulled him up.
...
Lincoln and Lynn were now in a badminton court as Lincoln had a hold of a shuttlecock. "I'll let you serve first." Lynn told Lincoln.
Lincoln threw the shuttlecock upwards and hit it with his racquet, only for it to barely make any distance whatsoever. Lynn stared at the shuttlecock for a moment before going to pick it up. "Ok, well let's see if you can hit it back. Just try and put some muscle behind this one." She went back to her side of the court before serving the shuttlecock, sending over the net.
Lincoln ran towards the shuttlecock, only to feel a cramp in his leg, causing him to trip up. "Ah! Charley Horse!" The shuttlecock hit the ground.
Lynn approached Lincoln awkwardly. "So, uh, having fun?"
Lincoln shook his head. "Sorry but I don't think badminton is really for me either."
Lynn sighed. "Alright, what next?"
Lincoln thought for a moment. "We could try skateboarding. Ronnie Anne loves that one."
Lynn noticed Lincoln had started frowning. "What's wrong?"
"It's just...I haven't seen Ronnie Anne in a while. She's been visiting the hospital a lot since some of her family got injured somehow." Lincoln rubbed his arm. "Sid and her sister, Adelaide, got injured too. Even Sid's Breakfast Bot got wrecked somehow but nobody knows how any of this happened." Lincoln noticed Lynn had started staring off into space with a blank expression. "Lynn?"
Lynn shook her head. "Sorry, I was just...thinking about...stuff."
Lincoln sighed. "On second thought, maybe skateboarding isn't a good idea."
"Ok, well how about basketball then?" Lynn suggested.
"Fine."
...
The two were now at a basketball court as Lynn was bouncing a basketball before passing it to Lincoln, who barely managed to catch it as it knocked the wind out of him. "Alright, why don't you try bouncing it?"
Lincoln attempted to bounce the ball like Lynn did, only for the ball to end up hitting his face. "Ow!"
Lynn let out a groan of frustration. "Ugh! Concentrate, Lincoln!"
"I'm trying!" Lincoln insisted.
Lynn pinched the bridge if her nose before going over to pick up the ball. "Ok, it's not a big deal. Why don't we try shooting for the net." Lynn led Lincoln closer to the net before handing him the ball.
Lincoln was about to make a shot before he hesitated. "You know, I'm starting to realise a lot of these end with me getting hit in the head somehow."
Lynn waved her hand dismissively. "It's all part of the learning experience. Besides, what are the chances it'll happen again?"
Lincoln shrugged before deciding to make his shot. Unfortunately, he didn't score as the ball bounced off of the net, this time hitting Lynn in the face. "Lynn! Are you okay?" Lincoln asked. It didn't seem to have hurt Lynn at all (in fact, she didn't even flinch) though he could hear Lynn growling in anger. "Y-You're not upset are you?"
All of a sudden, Lynn was smiling. "Upset? Why would I be upset? I don't have a reason to be angry at anything." She then sighed. "Ok, maybe basketball isn't for you either. But don't worry. I know just what we should try next."
"And what's that?"
"Baseball."
...
Lincoln and Lynn were at the park as Lynn handed Lincoln a baseball. "Ok, let's try pitching first. Just throw the ball and I'll show you how to hit it." Lynn then took a few steps back before readying her baseball bat. "Ok, I'm ready."
However, Lincoln wasn't preparing to throw the ball. The sight of Lynn with her baseball bat made Lincoln extremely uncomfortable for reasons he couldn't explain and he found himself staring at her with a disturbed expression. "What's the hold up?" Lynn asked.
"I, uh... I don't think I want to do this. I don't think baseball's for me."
"You're giving up already?!" Lynn exclaimed in disbelief.
"Sorry. M-Maybe we could try something else?"
"Ugh!" Lynn dropped the bat before storming off.
"Lynn, wait!" Lincoln shouted before following after her.
...
Lincoln followed Lynn all the way home at which point, she looked to have calmed down. "Are you okay?" Lincoln asked.
Lynn paused, sighing. "I'm fine." She turned to Lincoln. "Ok, why don't we try wrestling?"
Lincoln cringed. "That sounds painful. Plus I don't I'd be into something where I have to hurt people." He sighed, looking disappointed in himself. "I don't know, none of these sports seem all that fun. Maybe I'm just...not meant for sports." He then noticed a disturbed expression appear on Lynn's face. "Lynn?"
"I, uh...I gotta take five!" Lynn then dashed inside the house.
Lincoln blinked in surprise for a moment before glancing at Mr. Grouse's house. He narrowed his eyes. Why did it feel like someone was watching him? He shook his head. Maybe getting hit in the head so much was causing him to imagine things.
...
"Did he see you?" Mr. Grouse asked.
"I don't think so." Maggie answered as she moved away from the window and approached him, Darcy and Carol. The four had been living together for a week at this point. When Lynn took the infinity balls, they watched as the world transformed around them. Everyone around them, including their families, had turned into almost completely different people and the world became dangerous. Due to being the only ones on the planet unaffected, they were all they had now as they decided it would be safer for them to stick together than stay with their families, only going out when it seemed like no one was around to get food and supplies.
Carol had been pacing back and forth before she let out a frustrated groan. "Ugh! Why can't we just run up to Lori's sister and just take that stupid sweatband away from her?"
A memory of a powerful, intimidating Carol standing over her, having only gotten a hold of two infinity balls, flashed in Maggie's mind. "That would, like, probably end badly. She's way too powerful."
Darcy was sat on the sofa, looking miserable as she sniffled. "I miss my mommy and daddy!"
Maggie went over to sit next to her, placing an arm around her to comfort her. "I know."
As Darcy hugged Maggie, Mr. Grouse sighed. "Sorry kids but it looks like there's nothing we can do right now. We'd have to hope for a miracle at this point." Though considering even Rick was brainwashed, they had no idea who in the universe was capable of stopping Lynn at this point. The only thing the four could do was try to not completely lose hope.
...
Lynn entered the bathroom and started washing her face, trying to stop herself from hyperventilating. She didn't get it. She was the strongest woman in the universe. She was a master of every single sport that exists. Everyone loved her. She was President of the world! So why was she still unhappy?!
After splashing her face, she looked up at the mirror, only to stare in horror at the sight of herself with blue hair, a unibrow and something dripping out of her mouth.
"AHH!" Lynn screamed before shattering the mirror. She took some shallow breaths as the world around her started distorting.
...
Lincoln had been waiting outside for Lynn when she finally came back out. "Is everything okay?" Lincoln asked though just as soon as Lynn stepped out, a limo also arrived. "Huh?"
"Sorry, Linc." Lynn started. "I'm just...not feeling myself right now. I need to take a break so I'm going to the White House to work things out for a while."
"But...what about finding a sport I'll enjoy?" Lincoln asked as Lynn got into the limo.
"I...I don't know." Lynn admitted before closing the door as the limo started moving.
As Lincoln watched the limo drive away, he couldn't help but let out a disappointed sigh. He trudged back into the house, up the stairs and into his room before collapsing onto the floor from exhaustion. A familiar feeling of worthlessness washed over him. He so desperately wanted Lynn's approval but nothing he did ever seemed good enough. Why was he never good enough?
Lincoln then spotted something in the corner of his eye and looked under his bed. It was a large purple container. "That's...odd." Lincoln remarked as he got up to take a closer look. He wasn't sure why but something about the container felt familiar to him. There was a wire attached to the container with a small device at the end of it. Next to that device was a note. Lincoln picked it up and read it. "Lincoln, push the button." This felt very strange. Lincoln was wary about pressing the button in case this was some kind of prank.
And yet for some reason, a part of him was telling him that he should absolutely press this button. Deciding to take a chance and trust his instincts, Lincoln pressed the button.
Immediately after, he disappeared.
