What's this? Two updates in a week? Can we make a third? Who knows?

Anywho…

Cute times. Dangerous times. Exciting times. Emotional times. Infuriating, you really should've seen it coming times.

In that order.

I don't own pitch perfect.

Beca kept her eyes on the road the entire drive back. She had no doubt that by this time, Kimmy Jin would have the ammunition she needed to bring Babel down. She chose to focus on those thoughts, and her own driving, instead of her present company and their nights activities. Namely Chloe Beale, and their undercover mission.

Most of the drive was spent in comfortable silence, though Beca couldn't help but feel a sort of palpable tension in the air. For the good of the mission or not, they had crossed the Rubricon. There was no turning back from that. There was no fooling her heart about how it felt when they shared that kiss, or the thoughts of "maybes" and "what ifs" that briefly entered Beca's mind that moment.

It was Chloe who first broke the silence, keeping things focused on the business at hand. "Do you think she's arresting Chicago now?"

Beca hummed thoughtfully. "Probably. It all depends on how fast Kimmy Jin can mobilize her people, or if they were already on call for something like this. Stacie and Uni found a gold mine of info, so it might take time sifting through all of it. I suppose we'd know more in the coming days. There's no way an arrest or a major move from the prosecution against Babel wouldn't make headlines. I'd say a press conference in the coming days would be made for the official charges they're pressing, once they've sorted all the paper works."

Chloe nodded. "Good, but then I guess we have a few quiet days to deal with ourselves, huh?" she absentmindedly said just as the familiar sights of the Barden Tower came into view.

Beca pulled up to a side street parking. She studied Chloe's face for a minute, wondering what it was that she could be thinking about. There was something there, some kind of lingering sentiment, that Beca couldn't place a finger on.

"Guess we're here," Chloe noted, looking back at Beca expectantly.

"Mhmm," Beca agreed with a nod. "Welcome home… darling," she said with a teasing tone before leaning towards Chloe's seat, this in turn brought her face close to Chloe's. Beca chuckled lightly, watching Chloe's expression flash a brief look of panic, uncertainty, and then nervousness. The rather very visible gulp didn't escape Beca's attention either, it was hard not to notice when her eyes briefly looked down on Chloe's lips.

What am I doing? Beca asked herself. She was enjoying teasing Chloe a little, especially since the redhead seemed to be the one who always took her off her guard. It was nice to switch things up a little. To know that Beca had this effect on Chloe, that she could make her feel flustered and blush like a teenager.

And in any other circumstance, she would indulge herself.

But she knew that this was no ordinary circumstance at all, and once more her heart and mind were locked in a battle of logic and emotions. It would be very easy to just give in. She wanted to give in.

Beca knew, even when she silenced the thoughts in her head and buried it deep down in her heart, that she wanted to kiss Chloe again. Properly this time, and not under false pretenses of a mission.

It was clear to her. She wanted to be with Chloe Beale. She wanted her. She lo-

Okay, get a grip, Beca, she thought to herself. She reached out to the handle on Chloe's door and opened it, biting her lips as she looked away before pulling back to her seat.

Chloe let out a nervous chuckle, unbuckling her own belt in the process. "Thanks… honey."

Beca mimicked her reaction as she unbuckled herself from her seat as well and opened her door. "Of course, sweetheart," she said before the two of them locked eyes and exchanged a nervous laughter, followed once again by a comfortable silence between them.

"So, are you going home straight after dropping by the office?" Beca asked as they walked towards the tower.

"I just needed to pick some stuff up, but I suppose the night's still young…" Chloe replied. "And the lack of police presence in the tower makes me feel like the rest of the girls managed to keep things fun and entertaining for the real Andrea Di Marzio and Camille Benign…"

Beca laughed. "Well, I hope we didn't ruin their evening much," she commented. "But what do you have in mind?" she settled on asking. But what Beca really wanted to ask was if Chloe wanted to just stay the evening instead.

She didn't want to say goodbye just yet.

Chloe hummed. "How about we celebrate? Rooftop? Drinks? You, me, and a send off to hell for Babel?"

Beca smirked. "I think I'd like that very much," she replied. Chloe started asking Beca about what she'd want – wine from Beca's apartment, or if they should drop by the late-night convenient store just around the corner – when Beca heard a scuttling sound.

Instinct kicked in, and Beca look at the surface of the cars and closed stores around them. She stayed calm, not wanting to alert Chloe or anyone that could potentially be following them.

Because she had a feeling that they were being followed. Beca could feel it, a pair or two of eyes on them. Though she couldn't anyone per say, or make out their features, she could see a pair of shadowy figures from the reflections, hiding in corners. If she'd have to guess, one of them were hiding on the walkway that led to a nearby parking building towards the tower, and the other in a corner of a closed store.

They didn't seem to be tailing them from the gallery. That would suggest that they were waiting here.

If Chloe was the target, they would most likely try to attack her at her home instead, stalk her house. She did leave alone, and the previous break-in and its near effectiveness would suggest that to be their course of action if they wanted to try again.

Which would mean Beca herself was the likely target.

"What is it?" Chloe asked, noting Beca's sudden silence as the two of them walked.

Beca was quick on her feet though. "How about you go head over the convenience store?" she suggested, not wanting to send Chloe to her apartment in case someone was waiting for her there and mistakenly attack Chloe instead. "I remember the rooftop's quite the mess, Inzaghi and his friends found a new place to have their fun. Let me tidy up a bit, and I'll meet you there in a bit. Actually, I'll give you a call when things are ready, just take your time and head back to the office first if I haven't called yet," she then instructed. Not just to Chloe. She spoke loud and clear enough to send the message to whoever was listening, so they would know where to find Beca. There's a chance Aubrey might still be in the office too, or some of the residents still be in the floor from their own festivities from their temporary "captive" guests. So, if Beca is the target, they would focus on following her in the rooftop. If they even think of going after Chloe, she knew at least that Chloe would not be alone, and the convenience store was quite busy at this time too. A lot of late-night patrons frequented the place on the regular, and the place had a CCTV camera too.

Chloe quirked an eyebrow at her but nevertheless did not question Beca. "Okay, I'll meet you there then."

"Go on then," Beca encouraged, urging Chloe to head to the convenience store already. She wanted to keep an eye on her movements and their surroundings. Make sure she doesn't spot any shady figure try to make a move to follow her.

And no one did.

Once Chloe was clear, Beca made her way towards the tower, and up the rooftop, taking the staircase to avoid getting locked in an elevator with any would be assailants. She kept her hands in her pocket, one had grabbing onto her lighter, her eyes keenly tuned to her surroundings. They weren't going to get a jump on her. She wouldn't let them.

She heard the foot falls follow her a good distance away. Even up the stairwell. She didn't make any sudden movements or took any action to let them know that she was on to them either. Beca kept calm, and assessed her situation. She could only make out two people following her. She could very easily take on two.

Once she reached the rooftop, she hid behind the corner of the wall where the stairwell was. Two tall men emerged from the door. One was Korean with a scar over one eye, and the other was Italian. In fact, she recognized the two of them as someone working under Paulo.

It would seem her brother has found her.

The two pulled out guns and split up, deciding to search on opposite sides of the rooftop. Beca took this as her opportunity. She got the jump on the Italian, Fede, and disarmed him with ease. Fede put up a fight but Beca fired a shot from the gun – one that thankfully had a silencer on it, she didn't want to alarm the tower residents – and injured his foot. With Fede down, Beca pointed the gun at the Korean, Ji-hoon, who was alerted by the sounds of their scuffle and Fede's cry of pain.

"Posalo," Beca commanded. "Put it down. I'm a better shot than you, you'll lose the quick draw."

Ji-hoon looked like he was weighing his options. Fede was bleeding out from the wound on his foot and was struggling to get up, and Beca did have a reputation within the family. He loosened his grip on his gun and made a show of putting it down the ground, making Beca drop her guard for a second.

This allowed a third, unknown assailant to smack her on the side of her head from behind with the use of his gun's handle. The attack caused Beca to drop down on the ground, as she felt a throb from the side of her head and her ear, the parts hit by the attack. Her ringing ear caused her to lose her balance for a split second, feeling slightly disoriented as well. She felt blood dripping down a cut on the side of her head as the third man came to light. It was Paulo's favorite hitman, Alessandro.

Fede took his chance to break Beca's grip on his hand. Despite being on the ground like her, Fede managed to steel himself to point a gun at her. Ji-hoon's was the second. And of course, Alessandro's was the third.

She didn't consider the possibility of a third man. That was her fatal mistake.

Beca had to admit, she may have underestimated Paulo this time.

At least she managed to get Chloe away from this mess.

"Posso lasciarti vivere. Paulo ha detto di farlo, a patto che tu lo riconosca come il tuo capo (I can let you live. Paulo said to do so, for as long as you acknowledge him as your boss)," Alessandro said. "Torna a casa a Milano, piega il ginocchio e baciagli la mano. Non è un cattivo affare, vero, consigliere? (Go home to Milan, bend the knee, and kiss his hand. Not a bad deal, right, consigliere?)"

Beca chuckled. Even in defeat, she would rather just face death than bow down to someone like Paulo.

If this is how it ended, well, she wouldn't have any regrets. Well, maybe she had half-regrets.

She saw her father again. Though they didn't exactly patch things up.

Babel was about to fall. Though she would have loved to see it crumble completely.

It wouldn't be a bad way to go.

At least she'd still have her dignity.

And there was the greatest of her half-regrets.

They say that the brain replays your favorite memories before passing away. Funny how all she could think of now was Chloe.

She Beca met Chloe. She knew love because of Chloe. Despite not admitting to anything.

It would have been nice to tell her how she felt. But for someone like her, there was never really a choice. She knew that.

This was the only way it could have gone.

"Dillo a Paulo che lo vedrò all'inferno (Tell Paulo I'll see him in hell)," was Beca's defiant reply.

Alessandro shook his head but smiled. Beca knew, he wasn't disappointed in her answer. He delighted in death, and she just signed her own death certificate with that response.

Alessandro steadied his aim. I'm sorry, Chloe, Beca thought to herself. She miscalculated, and now she would pay the price. That's just how things are with this life.

But then, something unexpected occurred.

Coo coo.

Beca's face scrunched up, behind Alessandro, Inzaghi was perched on a lamp post.

Even Alessandro was confused by the sudden racket that one pigeon made.

All three of her assailants looked back to where Inzaghi kept making a noise. Ji-hoon pointed his gun, ready to fire at the bird, when all of a sudden dozens upon dozens of pigeons flocked towards Inzaghi. Beca's pigeon took flight himself and led the charge.

It was like a scene you'd find in a horror movie. The birds all flying towards the three assassins, talon and beaks at the ready, distracting and attacking them as if they were whirlwind of sharp needles and feathers surrounding them.

Beca took her chance, kicked at Fede's face, stole his gun, and shot him dead with a bullet to the heart, no hesitation. She was quick to fire the second shot at Ji-hoon, one bullet in between his eyes before he fell lifeless on the ground.

She didn't need to fire a third shot at Alessandro. By the time she had turned around to aim at him, Beca found the sharp cold steel of Lilly's blade running through his chest, her body guard as silent as ever, having arrived in the nick of time from her own mission.

Once the three assassins were dead, the birds flew away. Beca found Inzaghi on the lamp post again, looking intently at her. She shook her head and chuckled. "Grazie," she found herself saying just before her pigeon flew away.

"I'm guessing it's mission accomplished with the flashdrive?" Beca asked, turning her attention to Lily who nodded silently.

"Thanks, Lilly," she then said, thanking her lucky stars above she isn't dead just yet. "Take care of the mess?"

Lilly didn't even need to reply. She was already working on disposing the bodies before Beca could even ask.

The mess of the sudden scuffle over, Beca's thoughts turned back to the one that mattered most.

Chloe.

She wanted to spare her of the gruesome scene and hurried back down to distract her away from the rooftop.

So much for a quiet night of humble celebrations.

Ah, but at least she was still alive.

She still had a chance to make things right.

No half-regrets.

No regrets at all.

That's all that Beca could think about after nearly facing her mortality.

"Beca!" Chloe said in shock, chorusing with Beca who seemed genuinely surprised to see her going up the stairwell.

"I told you to wait for my call!" Beca exclaimed, rushing down to meet her, sounding a bit more frantic than she normally would. In Chloe's defense, she didn't want to wait and had wanted to help Beca in tidying up.

But all her reasons were thrown out the window the moment she saw the blood dripping from Beca's head. "What happened to you?"

"Oh, this…" Beca then replied, a bit caught off guard. As if she had forgotten that she was bleeding. She reached her hand up to where there was a cut, hidden by her crown of brown hair, wincing when she had found the spot.

"Beca!" Chloe cried out, not sure if she should be worried, panicked, or if she should scold her for not being careful.

"I… I hit my head on a table while cleaning up," Beca stammered on placing a hand on Chloe's shoulders to stop her from moving up another step when she made a move to do just that. "Best not to go up there, it's like a crime scene. Inzaghi and his friends had a bit of fun. Let's just go to my apartment, shall we?" she urged her on.

"But what about –?" Chloe wanted to ask, but Beca didn't let her finish.

"Lilly's been chilling up there, mission accomplished and all. She's got it handled. Let's go," Beca insisted and before long they were once more in Beca's apartment. A place that Chloe called home for a little while.

If she were being honest, she still considers it to be that. Mostly because Beca still lived there.

She found it rather bittersweet thinking about just how much longer it would be Beca's home. Especially as the dust settled with Babel.

But Chloe didn't let herself dwell much on such thoughts, quickly busying herself with treating Beca's nasty cut. Beca for her part was on her best behavior, choosing to remain silent about how she had injured herself, sporting her best apologetic and innocent smile while giving vague half excuses.

Chloe sighed, she wasn't going to get a straight answer. She could try to pry, but having Beca so close to her, the supposedly badass but apparently clumsy mafia sat on a bar stool by her kitchen counter as Chloe dabbed on medicine on her cut, was rather distracting for her.

The night had already been filled with so much memories and excitement. She was putting all her effort in not starring at Beca's lips or wondering how it would feel against hers once again.

So many feelings, swirling in her head… and the night was not done with her yet…

But Chloe wouldn't let herself be swayed by them. She can't.

Especially when there was something else in her mind.

Chloe remembered getting home the other night from visiting Dr. Mitchell, examining the lovely scarf he had made, and the letter she had found inside the bag. It was damn near impossible to keep her eyes dry after reading the note that he had penned, what with all the regret and guilt she had been living with as well.

"What is it?" Beca asked, her voice soft, concern in her eyes. Chloe briefly wondered if she had let the emotions she had felt that night surface and show on her face. One look at Beca, and she could tell she probably did.

Chloe hummed. "Nothing, don't worry about it. Just remembering some things… like my dad… I wonder how he'd feel about all that's happened now," she settled as a reply. "But I guess it's too soon and silly to think about things like that, right?"

"No, not at all," Beca replied, wiping a tear from her cheeks. Chloe hadn't even realized she had started silently crying.

"I'm just being silly, no need to worry. But tell me," Chloe replied, "what's your plan once this is all over?"

"What do you mean?"

"Once Babel has been served true justice," Chloe replied. "Are you going back to Italy? What about your gold? What happens when you get it?"

"It's not like I'm going to disappear you know," Beca then said sincerely. "I have things to take care of, though, things I shouldn't drag you, or anyone else here, into."

There was a protective edge in her tone the way she spoke. Beca seemed adamant about it, her business with her family was not something Chloe or anyone one of their friends should involve themselves in.

But Chloe couldn't help but worry. She didn't want to think about Beca's life being in danger. But she knew she couldn't exactly ask her to stay and leave it all behind either.

In truth, Chloe just wanted to stay close to her side. Whatever that entailed.

"Besides, too early to think about that, you know?" Beca replied. "We still need to wrap things up with the tower, even after Babel's been taken down. A lot of loose ends."

Chloe nodded. A part of her wondered if she would ever be a loose end for Beca. She knew she would never hurt any of them, but a permanent goodbye felt too painful to think about for Chloe too.

"Well, since that's too far away in the future," Chloe then said, stirring the topic away from their goodbyes. "What's the plan? While we wait for news? Do you think we can have a day off from plotting and scheming?"

"What do you have in mind?" Beca asked.

"Oh, a day out and about town," Chloe replied. "I've been talking to Dr. Mitchell's doctors, they think he can be allowed a day out with his lawyers. I already have the paperwork too, you know, to allow him to have a day out of being a prisoner. He may not be in jail, but he's still locked up in a hospital. If we go around the small shopping district near the hospital, the officials don't see the harm. Especially with his current circumstance with his health and all. They can grant him that much."

"Wouldn't that be too much for him?"

"A few hours wouldn't hurt. As long as we're back before dark," Chloe responded.

"Sure, why not," Beca agreed, looking away. Chloe wrapped up with her work and stepped away from Beca, busying herself with pouring a glass of wine for each of them.

"Do you think we should bring at least a beer to Lilly, considering you had her clean up the mess that stupid bird of yours made."

"No, she doesn't like being disturbed when she's in the zone," Beca hurriedly replied, a hint of panic in her tone, making Chloe wonder what actually happened in the rooftop. "But that aside, Inzaghi's a good pigeon! He's smart and loyal, I won't have you bad mouthing him," she added rather passionately.

"Okay," Chloe replied, confused by Beca's reply. "Didn't know you were so attached to you pigeon," she added with a chuckle.

"I'm not, but, let's just focus on what's important here, okay? To taking down Babel," Beca replied, raising her glass towards Chloe.

And Chloe relented. Beca was right.

Despite the insanity of their night, with all of its ups and downs. They achieved their goals.

They were taking down Babel.

So why didn't she feel happier than she should be?

Beca looked at Chloe curiously. The two of them were sat in a small café, having coffee after dropping by a small boutique store to buy a tie for Dr. Mitchell. Chloe insisted they buy him something nice as a gift, and asked for Beca's help in picking on, since she had impeccable taste and all.

Now Chloe was handing over the box where the tie was neatly packed in, insisting that she should give it to Dr. Mitchell.

"But this is your gift to him," Beca said, trying to slide the box back to Chloe.

"Last time I checked, you ended up paying for it," Chloe retorted. Pushing the box back to her.

"Yeah, but you're the one who wanted to buy him a gift. You initiated it," Beca replied, sliding it back.

Chloe side, giving the box with a sense of finality. "It would be better if he received the gift from his own daughter, you know."

"I suppose," Beca then said with resignation. Chloe did have a point.

Wait… did Chloe just…

Beca looked back at Chloe, surprised. "What, you really think I wouldn't figure it out?" Chloe then said. There wasn't an air of arrogance or confidence to it, none at all. If anything, there was a softness to the way she spoke. An understanding.

"You still have a chance to make things right with him, you know? It doesn't matter who did what, well, I guess maybe a little, but what's more important is making the most of the precious time you still have left with him. You wouldn't want to live a life of regrets," Chloe then said, reaching out her hand to hold Beca in hers. She gave her a gentle reassuring squeeze. "You don't have to tell him anything, not yet. Just enjoy today for what it is. When you're ready, you should let him know… the truth, how you really feel… Don't be like me, Beca."

Beca looked into Chloe's eyes, a little glassy eyed. Chloe's were too. There was so much unspoken there, so much that Chloe didn't have the strength to say, so much that Beca didn't dare to admit. But in their silent conversation, she found a sense of resolve to enjoy whatever the day would bring her.

When they got to the hospital, Beca did as Chloe suggested, and gave Dr. Mitchell his gift. He seemed quite moved by the simple action that he had asked Beca for a hug to thank her. Beca relented, keeping a stoic face on, not wanting to breakdown or show much emotion, but she did hug him back.

There was something there, a sense of peace and fragility, deep down in her heart she could feel it.

She never thought she would feel her father's embrace again, and yet here she was now.

She relaxed a little and smiled as she helped Dr. Mitchell on his wheelchair.

The day was mostly spent going around. They had lunch at a simple family restaurant that had Dr. Mitchell's favorites. He had a hard time eating, and Beca could see how much his illness had affected him, but he looked happy and content nevertheless.

Chloe asked him if there was anything specific he had wanted to do. Dr. Mitchell requested they get a set of professional photographs taken, after all, it's been years since he had an actual photo taken. Beca and Chloe both indulged him and they went to a nearby studio. Beca managed to sweettalk the rather busy photographer in taking a few shots, a few of the three of them, one of Dr. Mitchell by himself, one with just Chloe and him, and one with Beca and him. He seemed rather content afterwards, that when they asked where else he would like to go, he simply said that some fresh air at the park would be nice before returning to the hospital.

During their stroll in the park, Chloe received a call from Aubrey with regards to some paperwork she needed for Dr. Mitchell's case. Chloe stepped aside for a while to help Aubrey sort things out, leaving Beca with Dr. Mitchell alone.

Beca parked the wheelchair near a pond, resting her hands on the handles while admiring the lovely view they had of the park. There was a kind of peace settling in her heart, and she had to admit that it was getting harder to hold on to her anger and resentments of the past.

Her father was trying to be strong, but she could see how his disease was wearing him down, how he's trying to live his best life with it.

The thoughts she's tried to bury were all surfacing up, getting harder to ignore and run away from.

"Say, Ms. Bella," Dr. Mitchell started to say and Beca hummed to let him know that she was listening. "I know you've done a lot for me already, but can I ask you for one more thing?"

"What is it?" Beca asked.

"You see, there's this girl," Dr. Mitchell started to say, his voice wavering with emotion as he tried his best to sit still and not be overcome with emotion. "She's my daughter, and… I… I don't know if I'll ever get the chance to tell her… to ask her… beg her, really, for forgiveness…" he manage to say in between sobs. "This day, it's been close to perfect, but I… I'd like to have a day like this with her… with no reservations, with a clear conscience… where I can tell her that… that there's not a day that I didn't regret giving her up," he went on to say, his voice breaking, but Beca could hear a light, wistful smile, forming on his lips based on his tone.

Beca avoided looking at him, tightening her grip on his wheelchair's handle. She fixed her gaze far ahead, to two kids playing with their family dog. Their parents keeping watch on a bench not far from them. She swallowed her sobs, and did her best to keep her tone steady, controlling her breathing the best she could, as the tears that she had tried to hide behind her calm façade, the tears that had drowned her heart for so many years for refusing to be let out, had finally won, and streamed steadily down her cheeks.

Beca bit her lips as Dr. Mitchell kept talking. "I want her to know that I miss her so much, that I wish I saw her grow up… I made so many mistakes, and I don't want her to hate me… but I understand… I do, I understand if she does. If you could tell her for me, that I love her, and everything I did, I did because… because I thought it was what was best for her then. I loved her so much, that if giving her up gave her the better life I couldn't give her back then because of my illness, if being apart was what it took for her to be happy, that's what I did. I just hope… I hope one day she forgive me."

"Maybe she already has," Beca replied truthfully, tears freely streaming down her cheeks, dripping down form her chin to the back of her hands that gripped the handle of his chair. "Maybe she also still loves you too," she went on to say. "Tell her yourself that, when you get better. When you clear name. It's not too late you know."

Dr. Mitchell let out a nervous chuckle, wiping his tears away, "Do you really think so?"

Beca wiped her own tears with one hand. "Why not? But you have to fight, and get stronger."

"Of course," Dr. Mitchell replied.

"And on the day you celebrate your victories, I promise you, she'll be there. And you tell her, all that."

"I will."

"Good," Beca replied briefly stealing a glance from her father. She looked forward to the day she had her own strength to admit to the truth to him.

Chloe was right, she didn't want to have regrets.

And she would fight for that future where she could make things right.

Her heart still felt so fragile, but it also felt lighter. Fuller.

In the end, she was glad she had let Chloe talk her into spending the day this way.

Funny how she kept finding what she needed through Chloe.

Chloe smiled to herself, stealing a glance at Beca, who, for the most part of the last two days had been in a light and happy mood. She'd like to believe that she had something to do with it.

Especially with Beca giving her a hug from behind after they dropped Dr. Mitchell back at the hospital, on their way back. Beca had pressed her face against Chloe's back, whispering a gentle thank you, before letting her go and once again adopting the mask of her cool and calm demeanor.

"What?" Beca mouthed as she caught Chloe starring. She shook her head and watched Beca nod towards the TV in their law firm.

Everyone in the tower had gathered in their office, Emily rearranging their TV screen so that everyone could have a good view of the screen. It was a momentous morning after all.

Over the weekend, they had heard a rumor that the prosecutor's office had arrested Charles Walters Jr. of the Babel Group. Whispers of an indictment and various charges were told as the reason behind the prosecution asking for a press conference outside their offices this very day. No real reason other than it being related to Babel was given.

The residents were all buzzing with excitement the moment Kimmy Jin stepped up to the platform and started to speak about the work she had done the past couple of years, her investigations.

But no sooner than she started speaking than Aubrey scowled and Emily was in disbelief. CR, Stacie, were all too stunned to speak. Denise, Jessica, and Ashley started cursing at the prosecutor. Jesse, Benji, Flo, Bumper, Uni, and Donald were confused. Lilly looked like she was about to look for her weapon.

Beca quirked an eyebrow, a cold look settling on her face.

And Chloe? She was filled with rage.

"So, she had a price after all," Beca commented as they watched Kimmy Jin bow towards the public in apology for ever pursuing Babel, announcing that they were innocent and squeaky clean.

"That lying, two-faced – " Aubrey started ranting, but Beca raised her hand.

"I'll handle this," she announced before standing up. Her good mood from the weekend gone.

"What are you gonna do?" Chloe asked.

"I'm gonna pay a dear friend a visit," she announced before leaving, Lilly not far behind her boss.

Chloe sighed.

Truly, there was no end to Babel's evil and corruption.

Will this fight ever end?

Kimmy Jin should probably install new locks, just saying… not that they'll help though… Whatever will Beca and the residents do now?

You didn't think it was over, right? This fic has 45 chapters after all.
