Baraquiel 33

The first event had been surprising, extremely surprising, in Endeavours eyes. He'd seen the voracious and unpredictable Class 1-A Student with the Explosive Quirk. Inwardly, he winced "That boy has spirit…however, he needs a lot of work."

Harry nodded "He really does. I've managed to beat into his skull something that resembles restraint. However, his emotional state influences his ability to restraint and he's exceptionally emotional. Despite him protesting that he's not. I had anticipated Midoriya to win this, however, I did not expect him to do that."

Endeavour chuckled "Grabbing the sheet of metal, scrambling across the ravine and then activating all of those landmines was nothing short of genius. Harry…you said this kid was quirkless?"

"It's…complicated. He has a quirk, but, he's not activated it. He's not the first."

Endeavour nodded "It needs requirements?"

"Yeah. It's a physical quirk…" Endeavour winced. Late Bloomers weren't common but there were records of the event.

"Have you seen anyone that would benefit your teaching?"

"That electric teen…I've made him my apprentice."

Endeavour nodded "I know how you feel about lightning quirks, is there that much difference between them and electricity quirks?"

"It terms of quirks…not really. It boils down to ionisation and how much is done. It's negligible although Lightning doesn't bode well for an energy source."

Endeavour nodded "I would offer to bring Midoriya on board…" He paused "All Might's teaching this year isn't he? Midoriya is quirkless under the pretence of being a late bloomer. All Might and Midoriya are connected aren't they?"

Harry nodded "Midoriya is All Mights Successor. Remember our chat, some years back?"

Endeavour grimaced "I remember. I've been preparing for it."

"Send Midoriya an Offer, regardless of how he does in the Festival. Might want to make a scene of it as well, I don't see Midoriya winning it as of yet. It'll raise his spirits knowing that his hard work has paid off especially if the Hard Working Flame Hero sends him an offer."

Endeavour nodded. He saw Midnight take the stage and personally his favourite event, the Cavalry Battle. Endeavour had been cursed during his own UA Festivals; he'd had evasion games or team-based strategy board games made lifesize against Nezu. How he got a fullsized replica of Battle Ships made…complete with era-based ships ALL Armed with practice ship ammunition. It was eight alumini against Nezu, in a best out of 7 game. There were six students against Nezu directly and the other thirty-six had to rescue hostages from the wreckage of the ships. The sixteen who scoured the most rescue points would move on to the next round. Endeavour noticed it for what it was, a combat class pay-paper-view an insight into the future generation of heroes and also revealing the heroes that Nezu believed were headed for greatness Top 10 greatness.

Naturally the Number 1 Spot was owned by All Might leaving the other 9 Slots was fight between UA and Shiketsu High-School. Mirko for one at Number 6 or 5. Then there was Hawks, definitely, not UA or Shiketsu High. Endeavour had his suspicions at that.

(Toya)

Toya fell back onto the bed, Moe landing on top of him. Her head on his chest and her hair landing in a messy sprawl up to his jaw and onto the pillows. "Toya, if we don't start being…careful. I'm going to have a tough time explaining it to my boss."

"Just say you managed to have a few days off with your boyfriend, not a lie, and you're pregnant." Toya replied, looking down at her.

"Your Old Man won't press the issue?"

"Oh he'll bitch and complain about losing one of his best and second-in-command to having a child. Considering his most recent turn of events…I…really doubt that he'll have much to complain about. Considering he is a Grandfather now."

Kamaji Moe, Burnin', looked at her boyfriend "He's a grandfather! Hang on…Fuyumi, right? I remember there being a small get together for that affair. The HSPC wanted to press the issue but when the representative looked like he'd had a kiss from a lightning bolt they reconsidered."

Toya chuckled "My in-law hates reporters. You know I don't use that word often." Moe giggled at that, she hadn't met Baraquiel that often and she was pretty sure that she'd seen all of his events on tv and got the podcasts that he turned up on.

"I like him."

Toya looked at her "How so?"

"He's covering for you, set you up in and I must say…I very fancy apartment and given you carte blanche for what you need to do. However, I question is his sanity and willingness to have you do this."

"Moe…I'm dead. At least on paper."

Moe sighed "I can't believe you're going along with this."

"I swore to myself that I'd reveal what my father is really like…I…never intended to survive it. But now, I've got quite a bit to return to."

Moe looked up at him curiously "Like?"

"My wonderful lady, my niece and nephew, my sister, brother-in-law, my brothers and…mom." Moe propped herself up. "So…would the prospect of being a father entice you to come back?"

Toya's breathing hitched, he was well out of his depth "Moe…if I commit to this, I'm in all the way. I'm not going to be bedhopping if I do this…I'm not going to commit to this unless…"

Moe kissed him on the cheek "Toya…I want in. I want you to be my baby's dad. When you do this, go undercover, keep me in the loop. I'll pass it onto Endeavour."

Toya rolled over, his hands rolling underneath Moe's hips "Well then. Let's get started." Moe moaned as they joined once again, on the TV blared.

(Shigaraki)

The UA Festival was on. That infuriating school, however, it was a very good insight into the future crop of Heroes. His own two plants amongst them, he had marvelled at their ability to pass the first test.

As athletically skilled, he was, he wasn't stupid enough to know that the UA Course was a course was on par with the Gordonstoun Athletic Trials. Gordonstoun had links to British Heroics. It and Howarts located on the other side of Scotland were purported the best Hero Academies in the UK.

Heroes from those Academies were well known in the West and were popular enough for Hero Enthusiasts to know of. Sensei's influence in The West wasn't as extensive or expansive as it had been. Thanks to one particular family, the Potter Family.

Unfortunately, Shigaraki recalled the alabaster pale skin, the unruly thunderstruck black hair of Baraquiel. The actual quirk of the Potters wasn't precisely known but all Shigaraki knew was Baraquiel was Harry Potter and the name Baraquiel was noted amongst the Potter family since Heroics started as a profession.

Furthermore the Potters could be recorded as appearing across a myriad of notable periods of history. What caused Shigaraki to pause, it appeared that the Potters marched very much to their own tune. Whomever they allied with suddenly experienced years or even generational fortune at the expense of the Potters.

"Sensei?"

"Yes, Tomura?"

"Did we manage to retrieve that Nomu?"

"We did. Something catch your eye?"

Tomura hissed slightly "I might have a clue into one of our foes…one that I'm outmatched against."

There was a rustling and a deep hollow chuckle "Oh…"

"Did the Nomu possess any damage anywhere on it relating to lightning or electricity?"

"Doctor Garaki and his Apprentice were most annoyed at that. Apparently his Apprentice nearly had a melt down at the fact you took an unfinished product."

"Garaki said it was ready!"

"His Apprentice thought differently. He says 'There's a difference between ready and tested readiness."

Shigaraki nodded. That sounded like the Apprentice, definitely a High Intelligence, Low Wisdom build. Shigaraki predicted the man had Con or Dex as his second stat.

Shigaraki turned around to watch the second round.

(UA)

Izuku paled at being the target of so many glares, but, he smirked at the opportunity. Noone wanted to be on the Team of the most sought after headband.

He turned to Kyoka, who shook her head "Izuku…I want to test myself against you."

He nodded. Tokyami acquiesced and soon enough he was working with a very put out Uraraka and some Girl called Hatsume Mei. Izuku bristled as Uraraka wrapped her arms around his chest, she was meant to be supporting him and not feeling him up. "Let her down firmly. Not gently." He remembered Baraquiel-sensei saying.

"Uraraka-san…stop. I'm not interested in you like that." Uraraka looked at him with the expression of a kicked puppy. Izuku steeled himself "I think of you as a good friend, but, I don't have any intentions or desire to go beyond that."

"But…why did you…"

"Why did I save you? Squished peers make me uncomfortable. Dead peers even more so."

Uraraka shuddered at Deku's tone. It sounded so much like Baraquiel it unnerved her! Despite the man not being much older than her, the same with the new staff…the way they seemed to look at them, the Heroe-In-Training it felt like they were nothing more than insects to be examined. "How can you like that man?"

"Uraraka-san, Baraquiel-sensei has been nothing but amazing. Yes…he grinds us into the dirt, yes he kicks all of us around…he wants us to live…do you remember what he told us when everything descended into darkness and madness at the USJ? Welcome to Heroics 101, you play for keeps?"

"He killed people! Heroes…"

"Heroes kill…they have done and they will do. Heroes live with the fact they're actions have reactions. If by killing two people, you can save three thousand…would you?"

Uraraka paused "I…don't think I could. You, Tokyami?"

The Ravenheaded teen paused "Every time…I'd hate every single moment of that scenario. I'd remember those who I couldn't save and strive to do better. Get ready…here they come."

(Shoto)

Shoto watched as everyone rushed Midoriya and his team. "No. We hold fire."

"But Todoroki…it's 10million points!" Iida barked.

"No Iida…think." Denki chimed in.

"Coming from…" Iida began.

"Enough. Iida. Baraquiel is watching, Endeavour is watching. Heroes are watching…they're always interested in seeing everyone rush the winner, however…" Todoroki casually swiped a headband from a passerby. "If we hit the other teams it shows…"

"Some sort of strategic planning and that even though we're not going to make a play for the big points we're building a solid platform of points for ourselves." Denki finished.

Yaoyorozu nodded "Let's do this."

(Bakugo)

Bakugo cackled as he soared through the air, like a living wrecking ball attached to a piece of tape. Noone was going to deny him the chance of winning this thing!

He'd taken Tape-Elbows, Red and Raccoon-Eyes because out of the majority of the extras; they knew their places. Damn that Deku, Bakugo couldn't wait for the final round. He'd watched the UA Festival with and without useless Deku countless times. No matter the year, the format was always the same. A race, a team rescue and then combat the only thing that changed were the specifics.

Katsuki would give credit where credit was due, Deku…Deku's mind it scared the shit of him. The way he could analyse quirks, break them down and devise a counter-measure for them all on the fly, that was something he'd never be able to do. He let out a vicious explosion as he grabbed another headband.

He'd apologise to Deku…despite being quirkless, there was noone that he, Bakugo would want at his side to be a hero. He just wished that his childhood friend…wait, Deku was a pebble wasn't he? He shook the thoughts from his head. He had a tournament too win, the apology would have to wait.

"COME ON EXTRAS!" He yelled as Tape Arms reeled him in narrowly avoiding a horn that would have caught him in the unmentionables.

(Endeavour et al.)
"That Midoriya…he really is something. You think he's worthy of All Might's…Legacy?"

Harry rubbed his face as he opened up an unholy looking bottle of what looked like an isotope drink. Only, it had the consistency of a milkshake "I'd rather he didn't. But, he's the only one who can. Enji…Midoriya Izuku is on a short list of people with the capacity to take on the quirk, a shorter list of those that I can trust to wield power, an even shorter list of people that I'd want to have this power and a list of one name of someone who I think could use it, make it his own and take it beyond the level that All Might. Enji, Midoriya Izuku is without a doubt going to become his generations All Might."

"Then what am I to do? What are you to do?"

Harry smiled "We pave the way. The storm is coming, the entity that crippled All Might is making moves; right now…Enji all you can do is trust yourself. I've got my own plans in motion."

"Surely we can share resources!"

Harry shook his head "No…Enji…Endeavour listen to me; there is every chance that when my plan works and I reveal my source, my plant, my inside man…I'm going to be on a express train to Tartarus. All Might's going to retire, and he's going to be going out in a Smash that's going to rock the very world. You're going to be Number One, I'm going to kickstart my ascent up the rankings. I can only hope that I can create such a lightning strike that any prosecution service that should send me to prison, that verdict will be untenable."

Fuyumi looked at her husband "What do you want out of this…clusterfuck of a plan?"

"Hopefully not a divorce and I can be a parent. Being a hero, being a teacher…none of that matters to me. I'd much rather be unemployed, unable to do any hero work than lose my family. I've lost every single close family all I have are some distant cousins. I've now got you, and the twins and my…interesting in-laws and I'd rather not lose that."

Fuyumi nodded "Father I know what my husband is planning. It is better…"

Endeavour nodded "Harry, son-in-law, I'll be ready. I'm not happy about it but some part of me is interested in what you're planning even though I have a feeling I might be in the middle of it."

"You're sharp Endeavour." Harry thought as Midnight ended the tournament.

"Let's catch the third round. Food?"
