Andrea's Kitchen

Wrong Sister...Wrong Authoress

Andrea turned her computer chair and faced a dark-haired girl wearing dark boots, jeans and a western shirt. The only light color on her was streaks of gray in her hair. That was fine, but what she was saying was not.

"Have you lost your ever-loving mind, Maddie? You want me to do what?"

"I just want you to find me Mr. MacDonald as a husband for me."

"How do you think I can do that? I find Mr. Bennet wives, not MacDonald."

"Have you forgotten? You found him at least two or three… I cannot remember right now. Maybe four…of course, they were not all shown, I think they were mentioned or hinted at in the epilogues. I am not sure. It is not like I was there."

"Clearly you still are not."

"What did you say?"

"Nothing." Andrea rolled her eyes and repeated that she worked with finding Thomas Bennet wives and that she was thinking of quitting. "I only worked with one MacDonald group, they were from Scotland in the early 1800s. And it was their clan leader's daughter who became Mr. Bennet's wife." She leaned forward. "And even if I wanted to marry you off to one of them, I would not."

"Why? I am not a bad person."

"First, you are too overbearing, and second…you? in the Regency era? dressed like that? You must be joking."

"Excuse me? I just stayed at the Regency last week and okay, I have a strong personality, but that does not mean I am overbearing."

"I said ERA not hotel, and yes, you are. You would not be safe in Europe during that time, it is better for you to stay here." Andrea rolled her eyes at the Regency bit and cringed at the word okay.

Andrea was talking nonstop about how she had supposedly written all about Mr. MacDonald when she had an idea. She saw Tauna enter the room, looking as irritated as she felt.

"Please take this lady with you." Tauna said, raising her hands. She was followed by a woman with dark hair like the one at Andrea's table, but with fainter white streaks. Her dress was long, and ribbons held a bonnet in place. "She keeps asking me about London."

"As long as you take that overbearing…one over there." Andrea pointed at her unwelcome visitor. "She keeps saying I can get her with Mr. MacDonald. That I have written many stories about him."

"Oh, she means Sergeant MacDonald." Tauna's eyes lit up and she turned to the visitor. "You have the wrong sister, wrong author. Come with me."

"Oh, I am sorry." Maddie said. "You look so much alike, I thought you were the right authoress." She went with Tauna as the other lady took her place.

"Oh, Tauna?" Andrea said before her sister left the room with Maddie.

"Yes?"

"Buy her some glasses."

"Why do I need to do that?"

"Because if she thinks we look that similar, she needs them."
