Tauna's Payback
Jan and Andrea sat out in the backyard, talking to Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth. They had shown up unexpectedly, saying Colonel FitzWilliams was doing his best to find a way to get Jan back to Meryton. Unfortunately, the route he had accessed all of a sudden appeared blocked.
"I do not understand why," Jan was confused. "I gave him the password to both my laptop and computer."
"Um, Jan. Did you start writing?" Andrea asked slowly, biting her lip.
"No, I just read, you know that. Why do you ask?"
"Because I think the Darcys need to look over in that field." Andrea could not keep her laughter in any longer.
Lady Catherine was walking as fast as she could, trying to get away from Mr. Collins. They both had wedding rings on, and he was shouting. His words were very clear.
"My dearest, most blessed lady, the very fragrance and being of my affection for you are as boundless as the sky. You are the very confection that sweetens my earthly existence, the delicate marshmallow that graces my cocoa. The earth upon which your feet touch is hallowed in my eyes, and I hold in the highest regard every step you take. As the honey that enhances my tea, so do you enrich my life with your presence. You, my dear, are the wonderful rose of England, whose brightness outshines the sun above. And as your husband, entrusted by Providence with your well-being, I am empowered with the knowledge of what will be the most supportive to your happiness. It is by the sacred bonds of matrimony that you are bound to heed my counsel."
"My aunt married Mr. Collins? But he is not using large fancy words?" Mr. Darcy physically jerked backward.
"Do not ask me; I did not see that one coming," laughed Elizabeth as she heard Lady Catherine's reply filling the air.
"Have you gone insane? I exchanged no vow with you. I stood before no judge or parson!"
"But you did! Jan was our witness." His words got all eyes on Jan.
"He has gone mental!" Jan threw up her hands and jumped to her feet, especially when Lady Catherine headed her way—very rapidly. "I was nowhere near those two!" She began running when the vicar held up a piece of paper insisting her name was on it as a witness.
"I was not there, I tell you!" Jan was managing to stay ahead of Lady Catherine, who was, shockingly, very fast for an old lady. "Someone forged my name!"
Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth were too busy watching his aunt trying to get a hold of Jan to hear the tapping sound of a keyboard; Andrea was not. So, she turned her head.
"Tauna!" she mouthed. "How did you get into Jan's house, and what are you doing with her laptop?"
"It is called paybacks!"Tauna held up a card—the message written in bold black permanent marker
