In a Coffee Shop in Yongen-Jaya. A group of teenagers gather in the attic of the establishment. Discussing something out of the ordinary:
"I know many here want to explore my older sis's Palace right away, but we didn't anticipate that the shadows would be so strong." Said a girl with short brown hair. Her name is Makoto Niijima:
"Yes, we barely escaped from that place." Said a blond guy with a punk appearance. His name is Ryuji Sakamoto:
"Yeah, those shadows were tough." Said a blond girl named Ann Takamaki.
"But don't we have a deadline to clean the Palace?" Said a blue-haired boy named Yusuke Kitagawa.
"Yes, but we can't be stubborn. We could die if we're not careful." Strangely, this speech comes from a black cat with a yellow collar, his name is Morgana.
"I also wish I could save Sae-san right away, but I agree with Mona about being careful." Said a young man wearing black gloves. He is the second Detective Prince, Goro Akechi.
"So, what should we do?" Said a girl with curly hair and a gentle appearance. Her name is Haru Okumura.
"We don't need to rush. We still have time until the deadline." Said a girl with long red hair and wearing large prescription glasses. Her name is Futaba Sakura.
"Then I suggest we go to Mementos and train a little." Said the leader of the group. He wears non-prescription glasses and has messy black hair. His name is Ren Amamiya.
"That's a great idea! And we can still finish some requests that Mishima-kun requested." Haru said.
"I'm down. I want to become strong enough for Makoto's sis's Palace." Ryuji said.
"Count me in." Ann smiled.
"So everyone agree?" Morgana asked. Everyone nodded. "It's your cue, Joker."
The aforementioned boy smiled as he adjusted his glasses.
"It's showtime!" The leader gave his cue. The image around the group began to distort. Everyone was now in a dark place called Mementos. Everyone wore fancy clothes and fought monsters called shadows.
With the enemy finished, the leader, using the codename Joker, smiled as he adjusted his gloves:
"The show is over!"
After a while, the group rested in a safe zone.
"Hey, Joker."
"Hm?" Joker looked at Noir, who had called him.
"What's wrong, Noir?"
"I found this after we defeated the last shadow." She hands him a device that had a red button on it. Which leaves him and the rest of the group confused.
"What is this?" Skull asks.
"It looks like some kind of device with a button." Panther said.
"What do you think we should do?" Fox asks.
"Should we press the button?" Oracle asks.
"Wait, it could be a trap." Queen guesses.
"Yes, but coming from Mementos, it could be anything." Mona said.
"Do you think it could bring us some benefit to press the button?" Crow asks.
"What if it's a treasure that a shadow dropped?" Skull asks.
" ?!" Mona's eyes shine at the idea.
"What if it's na item that grants wishes?!" Panther said.
"Like with Jose-kun?" Noir asks.
"Yeah! But this time, real wishes! Like asking for a candy that never ends!" Panther said.
"I still think it's pretty risky. What do you think, Joker?" Crow asks the leader, who had been thinking about what to do this whole time.
"I think there's only one way to know. I'll press the button." Joker decides.
"Yeah! Press it!" Oracle said.
"But I'll do it away from the group, and i want you guys be ready for anything." Joker said, taking a few steps away from his team.
"Are you ready?" Joker asks.
"Whenever you want, Joker!" Mona answers. And Joker presses the button. But nothing happens.
"Maybe it's broken?" Skull asks, until the landscape begins to distort again.
"What's happenig?!" Panther says in panic.
"Are we going back to Shibuya?" Fox guesses.
"I don't think so!" Mona says.
"Then what's going on?!" Noir says.
"I don't know!" Mona shouts.
"Guys! Hold on tight!" Joker shouts, before everyone starts screaming and disappears.
In another world.
Japan. G Corporation Building.
On the top floor of the G Corporation building, there is a man with a severe appearance, with many scars covering his body, including his face. One of his eyes had a red iris, and he wore a purple suit. His name is Kazuya Mishima. Current owner of the G Corporation, and organizer of the new King of the Iron Fist tournament.
He is sitting behind his desk, watching some fights in real time. Now he's watching Jin Kazama's fight against Hwoarang. His eyes mainly on Jin, as if waiting for something to happen.
"Excuse me, Mr. Mishima." A voice calls out to him and he realizes that he is not alone. A blonde woman of exuberant beauty appears before him. Wearing a purple dress, black leather jacket and sunglasses. Nina Williams, the assassin, who was hired by Kazuya to command his G Corporation armies.
"What do you want?" Kazuya asked impatiently.
"One of our soldiers found this on one of the floors of the building." Nina said, placing the device with the red button on Kazuya's desk.
"What is this?" Kazuya asked.
"We don't know. We thought it might be a bomb, but we couldn't dismantle it." Mina said. Kazuya took the device curiously.
"It doesn't really look like a bomb."
"What do you suggest we do?" Nina asked. Kazuya tried to crush the device in his hands, but he couldn't, it seemed to be made of a resistant and unknown material.
"I'll press it, if it really is a bomb, I doubt it will kill me." Kazuya said.
"As you wish." Mina said indifferently.
Kazuya pressed the button, and after a few seconds the walls of the office began to distort.
"What is this?!" Nina asked. Kazuya, furious, thinking it was na assassination attempt, activates his Devil Form and tries to break through the walls to escape. But before he can do anything, the two adults disappear.
In another world
In the country of Ylisse.
Shepherds' camp.
In a medieval world, two countries are at war. To end the war once and for all and restore the peace that his sister has always wanted. A group of warriors, the Shepherds, commanded by the new Exalt of Ylisse, King Chrom, fight against the evil forces of the terrible fallen dragon: Grima.
Now a group of Shepherds are in a large makeshift tent, discussing strategies for the upcoming battles.
In the center of the table, pointing to the map, was Ylisse's main tactician, her name is Robin, a woman with silver hair and strong determination.
Along with her were the Exalt himself, the leader Chrom; his younger sister Princess Lissa; the wary Frederick; the clumsy Sumia; the stubborn Vaike; the candy fanatic Gaius; the perfectionist Cordelia; the shy dancer Olivia; Lissa's noble best friend, Maribelle; Chrom's daughter from the future, Lucina; Lissa's son from the same future, Owain; Cordelia's daughter, also from the future, Severa; and Olivia's womanizer son from the future, Inigo.
The strategy meeting has been going on for a few hours, making Gaius sleepy. He searches for one of his sweets that he keeps in his clothes, to keep himself awake. Until he finds something that shouldn't be there.
"If we head through the hills, we could make a surprise attack against the enemy army." Robin explained her plan to her friends.
"Hey, Bubbles. Sorry to interrupt, but—"
"Something wrong, Gaius?" Robin asked.
"Maybe? I was looking for some sweets, when I found this in one of my pockets." Gaius said, placing a device with a red button on the table.
"What is this?" Chrom asked.
"I have no idea." Gaius replied.
"Didn't you steal this from some of our enemies?" Cordelia asked.
"I certainly didn't. I would remember. This doesn't seem valuable for me to steal." Gaius said.
"Lucina, does this look familiar to you?" Robin asked.
"No, I've never seen anything like it in the future. What about you, Owain?" Lucina asked.
"I'm afraid not, my dear cousin! In my long heroic journey against the forces of darkness, I've never even witnessed anything like that! But my sword hand is telling me!-
"What if it's a gift from a secret admirer!?" Sumia asked excitedly, not realizing that she had interrupted Owain.
"If it's a gift from a secret admirer, then the person doesn't know me. Because I only accept gold coins, or sweets, especially sweets!" Gaius said.
"It's impossible to be a secret admirer! Because the gift wasn't delivered to the great Vaike!" Vaike said convinced.
"You live in your own little world." Maribelle said.
"Then it's for me. Maybe one of the maidens from the last village we visited has finally fallen for my charms." Inigo said with his hand on his chin as he smiled.
"Ugh! I highly doubt it." Severa said, already out of patience with her friend.
"P. . No fighting!..." Olivia said almost inaudibly.
"Hey guys, aren't you curious?" Lissa asked, attracting attention. "What if, we press the button?"
"I would be careful, milady. I doubt anything good will come of this. Especially if Gaius found it." Frederick said.
"You know I'm right here, don't you, steward?" Gaius said.
"I'M NOT—"
"AH! I can't take it anymore! I'm going to press it!" Lissa said.
"LISSA! WAIT—" Robin tries to stop her, but it's too late. After Lissa presses the button, the walls of the tent begin to distort.
"What's going on?!" Sumia asks.
"Shepherds! Stay alert!" Chrom orders. But before anything can be done, the group disappears.
Elsewhere.
In the sea between worlds.
Traveling through the stars that lie between worlds, in a spaceship known as a gummiship. Three individuals is discussing their next actions.
They had already found the mysterious device:
"But Donald! This could be a clue!" Said a 15-year-old boy with spiky brown hair. His name is Sora, a Keyblade wielder.
"No! This could be a trap set by the real Organization 13!" Said Donald, who is na anthropomorphic Duck and wizard of the royal court of Disney Castle.
"You both have great points." Said na anthropomorphic dog who oddly enough is named Goofy. He is captain of the royal guard of Disney Castle. "I wonder what Jiminy would say." He said, then remembered that they had left his friend to rest in Master Yen Sid's tower.
"Come on Donald! Aren't you curious? This might lead us to one of the three missing Keyblade wielders!" Sora said.
"Or it might lead us straight to the Realm of Darkness!" Donald said.
"That's perfect! We could check on Riku and the king!"
"I already said NO! That's final!" Donald said, handing the device to Goofy. "Get rid of it!"
"Donald!" Sora yelled. Before Goofy could do anything, he noticed that the device had disappeared from his hands.
When Donald returned to his chair, he didn't notice that the device had teleported, and ended up clicking it when he sat down.
"...quack?"
The walls of the Gummiship began to blur.
"Donald! Why can you click it and I can't?" Sora complained.
"That doesn't matter now, you idiot! WE'RE GOING TO DIE!" Donald screams desperately. And the last thing the three hear before they disappear is Goofy's famous scream.
Elsewhere.
Ren is the first to open his eyes. He checks his surroundings. But it's hard to see through a strange fog.
"Guys?" He calls.
"Here!" He hears Ryuji's voice. He follows it and finds his friends.
"Are you okay?" Ren asks.
"I think so." Ann says, standing up.
"Where are we?" Yusuke asks.
"...Something's wrong here." Akechi says, which makes the rest of the group notice.
"Hey! Why ma i using my uniform?!" Ryuji shouts.
"Where are our Phantom Thieves outfits?" Ann asks.
"Are we in the real world?" Haru asks.
"No, look at me." Morgana says, still keeping his Metaverse appearance.
"Guys, let's stay calm." Ren says.
"... senpai?" A familiar voice says. Which made Ren's eyes widen. He turns and looks at the owner of the voice.
"Kasumi?"
"Senpai. What's going on? Where am I?" Kasumi Yoshizawa asked. A red-haired girl 1 year younger than Ren.
"Hey, isn't that Yoshizawa-san?" Ann asked.
"That voice, is that you Takamaki-senpai?" Kasumi asked.
"Yoshizawa. Are you okay?" Morgana asked.
"Mona-senpai? Does that mean we're in the metaverse?" Kasumi asked.
" .How do you know about the Metaverse?!" Futaba asked surprised.
"No. We're not in the metaverse. I can guarantee that." Makoto replied. But she also wondered why Kasumi was there.
"Seriously, what the hell is going on?!" Ryuji asked with his hands on his head.
"Ouch." Robin stands up, noticing the hazy atmosphere around her.
"Robin? Is that you?" She hears a familiar voice coming from the fog.
"Chrom?"
"Where are you?"
"I'm here!"
"Where? I can't see you."
"It's because of the fog. Stay there, I'll follow your voice." Robin said. She walks until she finds Chrom and the rest of the shepherds.
"Thanks Naga, you're okay, Robin." Chrom smiles in relief.
"So as you, Chrom. And you guys?" Robin asks.
"We're fine. I think." Lissa answers, rubbing the back of her neck.
"You had to press the button." Gaius sighs.
"H. How was I supposed to know this would happen?!" Lissa answers, exasperated.
"That doesn't matter right now. All we need to know is where we are." Frederick said, analyzing his surroundings with caution.
Kazuya is already conscious. Analyzing the fog around him with his arms crossed.
"Mr. Mishima." He turns his head when he hears Nina's voice. "It seems we're not alone." She said, pointing to the company behind her. And familiar faces appeared in the fog.
"Where am I?"
"Lars? Is that you?"
"Alisa?" Lars asks.
"Oh, what the hell is this place? Lili! Did you brought me here?"
"I don't know if you noticed, Asuka Kazama, but I'm just as confused as you are." Lili said.
"Hey! What the hell is this?! I was in the coliseum fighting Jin! How the hell did I get here?!" Hwoarang complains. A roar and animal noises can be heard in the fog, it was only the Masked fighter, King. And he is also accompanied by Kuma.
"Wow, I had just fought Jin-senpai, and then, I was brought here." Said one of the new members, Reina.
"Jin? He's here?" Ling Xiaoyu's voice is heard.
"Kazuya... Mishima!" Jin Kazama's angry voice is heard, as he glares furiously at his father. Kazuya acts indifferently and goes back to analyzing the fog.
"Donald! Goofy! Are you guys okay?" Sora asks after regaining consciousness.
"Yes!" Donald says with his eyes rolling.
"All good!" Goofy says, making na ok with both hands.
"But where are we?" Sora wonders.
"Beats me. Maybe the device took us to a new world?" Goofy supposes.
"Maybe. But what kind of world are we in?" Sora asks.
"Sora?"
"Sora? Is that really you?" Sora hears two familiar voices. And his eyes widen.
"Donald? Goofy?" The two mentioned are also surprised by the familiar voice. They follow the voices and find three familiar figures.
"Kairi?! Riku?!" Sora screams in surprise.
"Your majesty?!" As do Donald and Goofy.
"Sora? Is that really you?" Kairi asks again, surprised after seeing Sora after so long.
" . It's me." Sora said, blushing after seeing Kairi in her new combat outfit. She is really cute in his opinion.
"But what's going on? Any ideas, Mickey?" Riku asked.
"No. Sorry. But it doesn't seem to be the Realm of Darkness." Mickey said.
"Hey guys. I'm here too!" said another voice.
"Axel?!" Sora asked in surprise. "Oh yeah! You were training with Kairi!"
"Gee Sora, thanks for remembering me. But don't forget again. Got it memorized?" Axel said.
"Anyway, we need to stay calm and analyze the situation." Mickey said.
"Mickey?" Another voice appeared. One that Mickey didn't expect to hear. He looked at the owner of the voice that appeared in the fog.
"Aqua?!" Mickey shouted in surprise.
"Aqua?!" Sora and Riku were also surprised.
"One of the bearers we were looking for? How did she get out of the Realm of Darkness?" Axel asked.
"You two." She looks at the two boys. "Are you... Sora and Riku?"
"Oh, yeah... But how do you know that?" Sora asks.
"First of all. Where am I?" Aqua asks.
"Well, I assure you it's not the Realm of Darkness." Mickey said.
"Really? I don't want to think I'm being fooled by more illusions." Aqua said with her head down.
"Illusions?" Kairi asked worriedly.
"Aqua?"
"Aqua? Is that you?" Aqua's eyes widen when she sees her two best friends in front of her.
"Terra?... Vem?" Aqua asked uncertainly.
"Vem?..." Axel asked surprised.
"Wow! Is that Roxas?!" Sora shouted pointing at Ventus.
"No, that's not Roxas. That's—" Axel began.
"Axel?.." Now it was Axel who was surprised. He turns around and sees a new familiar face.
"Roxas?!"
"Vem?..." Aqua and Terra look at Roxas in confusion.
"Axel? Roxas?"
"What?!-" Axel looks at a girl who has appeared. She must be the same age as Kairi. She even looks similar. But she has black hair and wears the organization's cloak.
"Who?..." Axel has a momentary headache. Until his eyes widen. "Xion?!"
"Xion..." Roxas said.
"Roxas?" Another voice. This time a girl, also the same age as Kairi, but with a white dress and blonde hair.
"Naminé?" Roxas is Kairi they say at the same time.
"Seriously. WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!" Sora screams to the heavens.
"Hey, RenRen! Did you hear that?" Ryuji asked.
"Yeah." Ren said. "IS SOMEONE THERE?!"
"OI! WHO'S THERE?!" Hwoarang shouted.
"I'm detecting several vital signs around us!" Alisia said.
"WHERE ARE YOU?! WE'RE COMING TO YOU! JUST STAY STILL!" Chrom shouted.
"WHO ARE YOU?!" Donald shouted. Until finally. The fog cleared a little. Revealing the four groups that were there.
No words were said as the four groups stared at each other. But some of them were startled when they saw certain people in the other groups.
" ?!" Sora shouted.
"Robin-san?" Ren said.
"Even Kazuya?" Robin said.
"..." Kazuya doesn't say anything without taking off his serious expression. But he didn't expect to see those faces so soon.
"Sora? Do you know them?" Riku asks.
"Yes! From Smash!" Sora said excitedly.
"Smash?" Haru asks.
"Super Smash Bros. A multiversal tournament that invites people from different worlds to fight. Remember Mona?" Ren said.
"Yes. I remember." Morgana said.
"That tournament you mentioned before?" Ryuji asked.
"Look! It's Sora-san and Joker-san!" Lucina said. She was also excited to see old friends again. Although she had no affinity with Kazuya.
"Yes. It's been a while." Chrom said, also feeling nostalgic.
"Smash Bros? What's that?" Hwoarang asked.
"Like that kid said. It's a tournament where the strongest in the multiverse participate. And apparently, Kazuya was invited." Nina said. Surprising the group behind her.
"And when was he invited?" Lars asked.
"I think right after his last fight against Heihachi Mishima." Nina said. Jin remained silent. Just absorbing this information. And Xiaoyu looked at him worriedly. Reina gave Kazuya a sharp look.
"Hey, then why wasn't I invited?! I'm clearly strong!" Hwoarang complains, followed by a roar from King.
"I agree with that guy over there! How is Vaike going to be the best if he doesn't face the best?!" Vaike complains.
"Well, there were already three people representing our world," Robin said.
"It's not fair!" Vaike complains again.
"A tournament that invites people from different worlds? But, what abou the order?" Donald complains.
"Border?" Sumia asks
"Sora, why didn't you ever tell us about this?" Mickey asked.
"I'm sorry, King Mickey. It just happened so fast. They called me. I fighted some battles and came back home." Sora said, rubbing the back of his neck. "But I must say, it's really good to see you guys again! Joker, Mona, Robin, Chrom, Lucina, and even you, Kazuya!" Sora said, waving.
The group smiled back, except for Kazuya, who crossed his arms, not wanting to form any bond of friendship with those people.
"Is that kid happy to see Kazuya?" Lars muttered, but his companions heard him.
"He must be na idiot." Reina muttered.
"It's good to see you too, Sora. But I wonder where we are. Is it a new tournament?" Ren asked.
"I don't think that's the case." Robin said.
"But it's very likely that we're in another world right now." Akechi said with his hand on his chin.
"This must be heaven. I've never seen so many beauties in one place." Inigo said with a flirtatious smile.
"Ugh! Just shut up!. The situation is already worrying enough without you acting like na idiot." Severa complained.
"With all this fog. It's hard to tell." Asuka complained.
"The fog is dissipating. We'll have the answer soon." Riku said.
When the fog completely dissolved, they found themselves in a large schoolyard. Which surprised everyone.
"A... school?" Ann asked.
"Really? It had to be a school?" Ryuji complained.
"Does this school sound familiar to anyone?" Mickey asked.
"It doesn't look like Mishima Polytechnical School." Xiaoyu said.
"It's not the school on Destiny Islands." Said Kairi."
"And it's definitely not Shujin Academy." Said Makoto.
"So, we're not in either of our original worlds." Said Robin.
"Seriously, where the hell are we?" Asked Gaius.
"Ah! You're finally here!" Everyone looks at the newcomer. He's a strange little creature with white fur, a red nose, bat wings on his back, and a red pom-pom on his head. And he's wearing a blue overcoat and reading glasses.
"Moogle?!" Sora, Donald, Goofy, Riku, and Roxas shout.
"It's actually Professor Moogstein. But if it's too complicated to pronounce, you can just call me Moogle." Professor Moogle said.
"He's so cute!" Ann said with hearts in her eyes.
"I agree" Xiaoyu said.
"Lady Ann..." Morgana said jealously.
"Ladies, please. Despite my appearance. I'm a professional."
"I thought Moogles were all merchants." Goofy said.
"Like Anna?" Robin murmured.
"Yes, we are, but I decided to pursue a different career path than my Moogle friends." Professor Moogle said.
"Hey, uh... Moogle sensei. Could please you tell us what's going on?" Kasumi asked, raising her hand.
"Yeah. Where the hell are we?" Severa complained.
"I assure you that everything will be cleared up. Please follow me." He said, flapping his wings and flying into the school. Without much choice, the four groups followed the Moogle. He led them to a classroom and asked each one to choose a seat. With everyone seated, Moogle began to explain.
"Well, I believe many of you are wondering why you are here. It's very simple. You are here to live the lives of ordinary students." After these words, everyone became agitated.
"What?!" Ryuji shouts.
"What do you mean?!" Sora shouts.
"Hey! I'm the teach here!" Vaike complains.
"Vaike, not now..." Robin asks.
"Oi, sensei! I don't know if you noticed, but different from that group over there." Asuka points to the Phantom Thieves. "No one here looks like a student!"
"We have adults among us!" Ann said.
"And also many of us were in the middle of very important bussines before coming here." Riku said. Many agreed with him.
"Seriously. We left one world as students, only to come to a new world to be students. Are you for real?" Ryuji complains.
"Yeah. It's not the kind of adventure I'd expect if I ended up in another world." Ann said, agreeing with Ryuji.
"Oh my! Will we be okay?" Olivia asked.
"Everything will be okay, I assure you. It's just a school." Cordelia said, trying to reassure her friend.
"...You said we have to live like students." Kazuya spoke for the first time after being silent for a long time, surprising many people. "What if we deny it?" Kazuya said, leaving the threat hanging in the air, releasing a bit of his demonic power, which alerted everyone.
"What kind of darkness is this?" Riku asked. It was a different kind of darkness than he was used to.
"Are you sure we're not in the Realm of Darkness?" Axel jokes. But despite everything, Professor Moogle remains impassive.
"If you don't follow the rules. There will be consequences." Moogle says darkly, which alerts everyone.
"What kind of?" Mickey asks.
"I'm sorry, but I can't say more than that.
"Hey! You're basically pointing a gun at our heads!" Hwoarang complains.
"Don't look at it that way. If you follow the rules. You can go home." Moogle says, which gets everyone's attention. "And you won't have to worry about wasted time. You'll return to the exact time and place you were taken from. Isn't that great?" Moogle asks. The group exchanges glances with each other.
"And why do we have to go through all this in the first place?" Robin asks.
"Honestly, I don't know. I was only given the task of being your teacher. But I guarantee that if you don't break the rules, you can go home. You could try to see this experience as a summer camp!" Moogle said more excitedly.
The "students" start talking among themselves.
"What do you think of this whole situation?" Frederick asks.
"I feel like a lab rat. I don't want to be anyone's entertainment." Lili said dissatisfied, Mickey looks at her confused.
"Are we in danger?" Kairi asks worriedly.
"I don't think so. He said there would only be consequences if we break the rules. I doubt they would harm us beyond those issues, since they want us to live like normal students." Akechi said.
"But why live like students?" Vem asks.
"I have no idea. Maybe we'll find out the answer later." Robin supposes.
"But can we trust their word?" Cordelia wonders.
"I don't like that idea. Like that girl just said, I feel like I'm in a puppet show." Riku said, also dissatisfied, as was Lili.
"What's your name?"
"Riku."
"Riku. Trust me, I'm also not at all happy about being manipulated and going along with this game at the will of others. But I don't think we have much of a choice but to play with the cards we're given." Akechi said with a frown on his face.
"Well, it's like that guy just said, there's no point in worrying about it. We just have to trust them and do what they ask." Sora said with his hands on the back of his head in a relaxed manner, attracting the attention of the others.
"Are you serious?" Severa asks in disbelief.
"How can you act so carefree?" Maribelle asks.
"Hey, it's like Moogle said, this can serve as a break for us. Besides, we can spend time with our friends and have more opportunities to make new friends!" Sora smiles.
"Hihi! When you put it like that, it makes me feel better too." Haru laughs.
"That's a good way of looking at it!" Sumia smiles.
"RRROOOAAHHH! (I'll be able to recruit more people for the Kuma group!)" Kuma says happily.
"I don't know what he said, but I think he agrees with me!" Sora smiles. Ren sighs, satisfied.
"Wait, are we really just going to accept it?" Severa complains.
"I guess we have no choice. We're going to live like normal students in this world." Ren finally says.
