Child's Play: Puppet Master
A/N: What if the powers that be had to be used to protect you from a different evil?
Ding-dong! The doorbell to the Barclay apartment rang, and Karen walks over to the door to answer.
She opens the door and sees a delivery man standing in front of her with a large package.
"Delivery for Karen and Andy Barclay," he says to her.
"That's strange," Karen replies. "I wasn't expecting anything."
"I only know what I'm told. According to my information chart, this trunk here belonged to a Mr. Barclay, and he stated in his last will that he wanted it to go to his son, so…here it is."
Karen relents and lets the man bring the packaged trunk into the house and sets it by the television and leaves.
"What is this?" Andy, looking at the large box, asks his mother.
"Not sure," she replies. "Something your father wanted you to have."
They remove the covering and reveal an old trunk that was sturdy enough to still be in use. There was an envelope taped to it, and Karen opened it to find a note.
"'An old friend of mine entrusted me with his friends before he passed away. I hope they will be able to do something good for you, Andy. Just treat them with respect, and they will do the same. Lots of love, your father.'" The note read, and they opened the trunk, revealing its contents.
"Are these dolls?" Andy suspects, picking up a figure that looked like a clown of sorts with head that had three pieces making it up.
"I don't think they're dolls, Andy," Karen states, picking up a figure in the form of a woman in a purple dress with a pale complexion and dark eyes. "Maybe this one, but the other ones seem like…like puppets."
"But there's no strings on them."
They counted at least seven of them, each one different from the rest, uniquely crafted by someone that took their time to make them.
"I wonder who made them?" Andy says as he holds up a puppet dressed in a sweater with large hands and a small head, as Karen takes out a small notebook with some highlights in it.
"It looks like each of the puppets has a name," she discovers. "This one is called Pinhead…and this one is Leech Woman (she points at the pale female figure). There's Blade, Jester, Khan, Six-Shooter and Tunneler."
"Pinhead? Tunneler?"
Karen then holds up a puppet dressed in a black trench coat and hat, with a small knife and hook for hands. Away from the two, the Good Guy doll, Chucky, watched with indifference.
Or so it seemed to be.
Unbeknownst to the mother and son, as the delivery man stepped out of the building, a stranger that was standing against the wall got his attention.
"Did you make sure that the trunk was delivered to the family?" He asks him.
"Yes, I made sure," the delivery man answers him. "Why was it so important that they receive an old trunk?"
"It was a gift from the father to his family that keeps on giving. Maybe one day, you'll find out why. Until then, it's better if you don't."
The delivery man then walks away to his truck and drives away.
Please, the man prays silently, please, keep them safe.
To be continued…
A/N: This is another experimental crossover with some hope of being impressive to the readers in the future. A long story short, Chucky has some new enemies he has to share space with…and there's no room in the Barclay household for a serial killer. I hope you eventually love this story.
