INT. DEX'S DINER - NIGHT

Echo proudly leads Fives, Hardcase, and Rex inside Dex's Diner.

FIVES
This is your joint?

ECHO
Just wait.

A really hot waitress walks out from the kitchen. She's not the lady from Attack of the Clones, but instead a semi-tall, very thin waitress with thick, long, wavy hair. Fives' jaw drops to the floor. Hardcase can't help but stare at places he shouldn't.

She notices Echo and with a surprised face sets a tray full of food down at the bar. Echo walks up to her, leaving his brothers behind, and whispers something to her.

FIVES
What's he saying?

REX
Maybe we should leave.

HARDCASE
Leave! I'm not leaving.

Rex glances at Hardcase, sees where he is staring, and elbows Hardcase in the ribs.

REX
Don't stare. It's rude.

HARDCASE
Are there more waitresses in the back?

FIVES
(looks around)
I doubt it.

Echo walks back over to his brothers locking arms with the waitress.

ECHO
This is Mia.

A round of quiet "nice to meet you"s are said.

HARDCASE
Do you have any friends?

MIA
(laughs)
Echo, did you bring your friends hoping they could get dates, too?

ECHO
No, I just wanted to...
(whispers)
Show you off.

Fives dramatically rolls his eyes.

FIVES
My luck with the ladies has ran out tonight! I'm going back to the barracks. Bye.

Fives huffs and storms out the door.

REX
I might leave, too. Nice to meet you, Mia.

MIA
Nice to meet you.

Rex follows the annoyed Fives out the door. Hardcase sees an ice cream sundae sitting on the counter and sits down in front of it, stuffing his hand into it.

ECHO
Hardcase, are you leaving, too?

HARDCASE
(busy eating)
Nope. The night is still young and food will be my date tonight!

Echo laughs and then whispers to Mia. She giggles, then takes Echo back into the kitchen.

EXT. CORUSCANT STREETS - NIGHT

Rex runs up to Fives.

REX
Wait up! I'm walking back with you.

FIVES
(sourly)
I don't need a chaperone.

REX
No, I want to go back, too.

FIVES
Oh.

Fives slumps his shoulder's forward and lowers his head.

REX
Something bothering you?

FIVES
Our one night on leave in Coruscant and I can't even find myself a good date.

REX
Well, did you at least have a fun time tonight?

Fives practically scowls at Rex.

FIVES
No. Did you?

REX
I guess.

FIVES
It blows my mind how you spend all your time on leave inside.

REX
Well... I just like it that way.

Fives stands up straight, remembering all his past suspicions about Rex and the Commander. He thinks about his next words carefully.

FIVES
You would rather spend your time on leave... with... those who also don't like to go out for a night on the town?

REX
(shrugs uncomfortably)
Yeah, I guess.

FIVES
Well, at least you'll never get into trouble as a Captain.

REX
True.

They approach the barracks. Rex turns to head over to his Captain's quarters.

FIVES
See you tomorrow.

REX
Bye.

Rex heads down the hall. Fives walks the other direction for a few seconds, then turns around. He darts to hide behind a wall, and watches Rex go inside his quarters. Fives follows up to the door and listens.

INT. CAPTAIN'S QUARTERS - CONTINUOUS

Rex walks inside his room to find Ahsoka asleep on his bed. His eyes go wide. He sits down on the bed next to her and gently shakes her awake.

REX
(whispers)
Ahsoka! Wake up!

Ahsoka stirs awake, looking up into Rex's eyes. She sits up.

AHSOKA
Oh! Sorry Rexter! I fell asleep. I thought you would be here like usual-

REX
-Shh! Someone might hear.

AHSOKA
(whispers)
Oh sorry. I waited for you, but you never came back.

Rex slides across the bed to lean against the wall. Ahsoka copies him.

EXT. OUTSIDE CAPTAIN'S QUARTERS - CONTINUOUS

Fives jumps back from the door in shock. Ahsoka is in there? He quickly leans back, wanting to hear more, but the whispers sound muffled.

INT. CAPTAIN'S QUARTERS - CONTINUOUS

Ahsoka sits next to Rex on the bed. Rex tilts his head against the wall to look at her.

REX
Did you need to speak with me about something?

AHSOKA
Oh! No, I was just bored. There's not much to do in the Temple besides train, and I already did that all day.

Rex grunts in approval.

AHSOKA
Where were you?

REX
(laughs)
Fives, Hardcase, and Echo dragged me out to 79's. And then we met Echo's secret girlfriend.

AHSOKA
What!? First, I'm surprised you went there. Second, ECHO HAS A SECRET GIRLFRIEND!?

Rex sits up suddenly, motioning with his hands for her to stop talking so loud.

EXT. OUTSIDE CAPTAIN'S QUARTERS - CONTINUOUS

Outside the door, Fives bolts up straight.

INT. CAPTAIN'S QUARTERS - CONTINUOUS

Ahsoka sits up curiously.

AHSOKA
What's she like?

Rex puts his head in his hands and laughs.

REX
She's a waitress at Dex's Diner. She's tall for a human, but has great dark brown hair. Let's just say Hardcase was staring when he shouldn't have, and Fives was so jealous he stormed out.

EXT. OUTSIDE CAPTAIN'S QUARTERS - CONTINUOUS

Outside, Fives rolls his eyes in annoyance. His resists the temptation to pound on the door out of frustration.

INT. CAPTAIN'S QUARTERS - CONTINUOUS

Ahsoka laughs.

AHSOKA
I'll have to meet her sometime.

REX
(laughs)
You can ask Echo. He was just dying to show her off.

Ahsoka laughs, picturing the whole scenario.

AHSOKA
Sounds like you had fun.

REX
It was okay.

AHSOKA
Okay? What could be better than spending time with your brothers?

Rex takes a fraction of a second to glance at Ahsoka's hand. He then looks straight forward.

REX
(unintelligible)
You.

AHSOKA
What?

Rex curls back up against the wall.

REX
You. It'd be nice to spend time with you.

AHSOKA
But we're always together in briefing rooms and on the battle field.

REX
What we're doing right now is kind of nice.

AHSOKA
I like talking with you, too, Rex.

They sit there in silence, enjoying each other's company.

EXT. OUTSIDE CAPTAIN'S QUARTERS - CONTINUOUS

Fives hears a long silence. He's had enough. Enough secrets from Rex, enough of everyone having a date besides him. Plus, his little vod'ika is in there. Fives breaks in.

INT. CAPTAIN'S QUARTERS - CONTINUOUS

Fives barges in to see Rex sitting against the wall on his bed, hugging his knees. Ahsoka sits next to him, staring up at the ceiling.

Rex sits up straight.

REX
Fives?

Fives' jaw hangs open. He was sure something was going on in here.

FIVES
I thought I heard someone yell.

AHSOKA
Sorry.

REX
What are you doing here?

FIVES
I... Is this what you do when we're on leave?

Rex swings his feet off the bed and stands up.

REX
Yeah. You got a problem with that?

FIVES
You and the Commander...?

Rex's anger starts bubbling to the surface. Why was Fives prying around in his private life?

REX
We like to talk to each other when we have the time.

FIVES
(stunned)
Talk?

REX
What did you think we were doing? You know what, don't answer that. Just go.

Rex puts an arm around his shoulder and leads him to the door. It slides open.

Fives puts an elbow around Rex's neck and pulls him outside.

EXT. OUTSIDE CAPTAIN'S QUARTERS - CONTINUOUS

Fives let's go of his headlock on Rex.

FIVES
What were you really doing with the Commander?

REX
Talking!

Fives gives Rex a look.

REX
What!?

FIVES
Are you sure?

REX
Yes! What else would we be...

Rex realizes what Fives must be thinking. Rex's eyes widen. This time, Rex grabs Fives around the neck.

REX
You disgusting, little-

FIVES
-Woah! Woah! Stop!

Rex slowly forces Fives closer to the ground.

REX
How could you think something like that?!

FIVES
I keep seeing you with her!

REX
SO WHAT!?

FIVES
Well, naturally I thought-

REX
-Get you and your dirty thoughts out of here! Go!

Rex lets go of Fives. Fives stands up but doesn't leave.

FIVES
Look, I'm really sorry, Rex.

REX
It's Captain. Just go.

FIVES
Is there any way I could make it up to you?

Rex stares at Fives.

FIVES
I shouldn't have assumed. I'm sorry.

Rex stares at him for even longer.

FIVES
...And I won't go snooping by your door again.

Rex rolls his eyes and pulls his brother into a hug.

REX
I doubt that, but it's okay.

Rex grabs Fives by the shoulders and glares into his eyes.

REX
Don't you EVER assume ANYTHING ever again.

FIVES
I won't.

Rex lets go of Fives and steps back into his quarters. Fives walks away, a lingering suspicion still dancing around in the back of his mind.
