INT. CAPTAIN'S QUARTERS - RESOLUTE - HYPERSPACE

Ahsoka sits on Rex's desk with her legs crossed. She looks down at Rex who has his chest pushed up against her knees and his hands right next to hers on the desk. Rex looks up at her.

REX
If the General really wants you to be training right now, then that's what you should be doing.

AHSOKA
But I've been training all day!

REX
I have paperwork to do.

AHSOKA
You always have paperwork to do!

The door slides open. Cody walks in, eyes growing wide at the sight on the desk.

Rex pushes off from the desk as fast as he can and looks down at the paperwork in his lap. Ahsoka stays on the desk.

CODY
Sir?

REX
(looks up)
It's just Rex, Cody.

CODY
Oh. Can I speak with you for a moment?

REX
Sure.

Rex looks up at Ahsoka. She huffs and slides off the desk.

AHSOKA
I'm coming back later.

REX
I already told you what to do.

Ahsoka walks out the door. It slides shut behind her.

Rex looks at Cody. Cody gulps nervously.

CODY
What was going on in here?

Rex's face flushes with a light shade of pink.

REX
Nothing.

CODY
You're a little relaxed about the regulations.

REX
What do you mean?

CODY
I couldn't help but notice that from your point of view... You could practically stare up the Commander's skirt.

Rex stands up, appalled.

REX
First of all, no, I couldn't see up her skirt. And second...

Rex looks around for an excuse.

REX
You could've knocked.

Cody stares at his brother.

REX
What did you actually need?

CODY
Oh, Echo wanted you. Now I realize why he didn't want to enter your office.

Rex looks like he might roar like a Gundark.

REX
I AM NOT BREAKING PROTOCOL!

CODY
Echo wants you.

REX
HE CAN COME IN MY OFFICE!

Cody backs away from Rex towards the door. It slides open.

CODY
I'll see you later.

Rex sits down in his chair and crosses his arms. Cody slips out the door as Echo comes running in. He stops at Rex's desk out of breath.

ECHO
Quick!

Rex stands up again.

REX
Is it an emergency?

ECHO
No. We have the perfect prank set up for Fives.

REX
(smirks)
For Fives?

ECHO
Yes. I thought you'd want to be the one to drop the bucket of paint on him as he steps out of the shower.

Rex's eyes go wide as he starts to laugh.

REX
That's a good one, Echo.

ECHO
It was Jesse's idea.

They run out the door.

INT. REFRESHER - CONTINUOUS

Rex and Echo run into the clones' refresher room. The room is lined with lots of showers. Rex sees a bucket above the outside of one of the shower curtains. That must be where Fives is. Rex also sees Jesse, Hardcase, and the Commander.

REX
Ahsoka?

AHSOKA
Shh!

ECHO
(whispers)
We were counting on Fives taking a long shower like he always does.

REX
(smiles)
This'll be fun.

ECHO
Get into place.

Hardcase and Jesse stand by the sinks across from the showers. Rex takes his place behind the bucket, with Echo and Ahsoka standing behind him.

The water turns off. Everyone stays very still.

Fives pulls back the shower curtain and steps out with a towel wrapped around his waist.

FIVES
Jesse? Hardcase? I didn't know you were here.

Rex pulls on the string. The bucket tips right over Fives' head, a stream of blue paint covering his entire body.

Fives stands with his arms out to the side gasping for air. Everyone bursts out laughing. Fives looks at Rex and lunges for him. Rex leans back, crashing into Echo who knocks over Ahsoka. They lie on the floor as Fives hovers over them.

FIVES
(gritted teeth)
Rex!

Fives leans over Rex and wipes a stained hand over Rex's face. Rex yelps.

FIVES
You're lucky the Commander is here or else I might do something worse.

Fives grabs the hanging bucket and throws it at Echo. He catches it. Fives clenches his fists and storms back into the shower, closing the shower curtain. The water turns back on.

Rex stands up, walking over to the sinks and wiping the paint off of his face. Ahsoka walks over to him.

AHSOKA
You look good with a blue stripe down the center of your face.

REX
(gives a look)
I can't tell if you're joking or not.

Rex lowers his face to the sink as Ahsoka leaps up to sit on the counter.

Hardcase steps into the shower next to Fives' and grabs the top of the shower, hoisting himself up to peak over at Fives.

ECHO
Hardcase!

HARDCASE
What! I want to know if the paint is coming out.

FIVES
YOU COULD'VE JUST ASKED!

Hardcase looks at Fives.

HARDCASE
He's still blue!

Fives throws a soap bar at Hardcase. It hits him in the head and he falls backwards onto the hard shower floor.

Rex turns off the sink. A faint streak of blue has stained his face.

REX
Fives, apparently the paint leaves a slight stain.

Fives screams his head off. Everyone backs away from the shower.

Rex grabs Ahsoka by the hand.

REX
Let's go. I don't want to be around when he gets out.

Rex and Ahsoka run out the door. Echo smiles at them, seeing them run out hand in hand.

INT. CAPTAIN'S QUARTERS - HYPERSPACE

Rex and Ahsoka run into Rex's office. The door slides shut behind them. Rex sits Ahsoka down on a crate near the door. He hovers over her, his hands on top of hers on the crate. Rex stares into her eyes and laughs.

REX
That was great.

AHSOKA
(laughs)
He was so upset!

Behind the desk, Cody's head just barely pops out, staring at them. Rex and Ahsoka don't notice.

Rex stops laughing as he realizes how close he is to Ahsoka. He stares into her beautiful, blue eyes. She stares back. Her eyes wander to the faded blue streak on his face. She lifts up a hand and drags her fingers down the streak. Rex blinks at her touch.

AHSOKA
You're lucky he didn't hug you or something.

REX
(chuckles)
Then Hardcase would've forced me in the shower with him.

Cody's eyes widen. What is he listening to?

AHSOKA
I like the blue streak. It's very 501st.

Rex laughs. His laugh trails off as he gets lost in her eyes. He glances down at her lips, then back up to her eyes. He pushes in closer, touching his nose to hers, feeling her breath against his face. Ahsoka closes her eyes as Rex hovers over her lips. She waits. Rex stands up.

REX
No.

Rex turns around to face his desk. Cody flies to the floor. Rex doesn't notice. He takes a deep breath and turns around, looking at Ahsoka.

REX
We can't do this.

Ahsoka stands in front of Rex. She grabs his hands and forces his arms around her waist. Ahsoka slides her hands up his chest and around his neck. Rex looks down at her, biting back the urge to lean forward.

AHSOKA
(soft voice)
Rex.

Rex gives in and leans his forehead against hers.

REX
(whispers)
Is this what you want?

Ahsoka nods against his forehead. Rex tilts his head, his lips getting closer to hers. His lips graze past hers when he hears something clang behind the desk. Rex stands up straight and lets go of Ahsoka.

Cody stands up. He looks horrified.

CODY
Rex, I'm so sorry.

REX
What are you doing here?

CODY
(looks down)
I was in need of a file and you weren't here so I... broke in. Then you came back. I hid, and no time felt opportune to reveal myself.

Rex stares at Cody in shock. Cody shuffles around the desk and to the door.

CODY
(voice cracks)
I'll just leave!

Cody runs out the door. Rex looks at Ahsoka.

REX
Maybe I should go after him.

AHSOKA
It can wait.

Rex gathers Ahsoka in his arms again.

INT. RESOLUTE HALLWAYS - CONTINUOUS

Cody flies down the hall, his thoughts racing. He bumps into a body, which falls onto the floor. He stops to help him up. It's Echo.

CODY
Oh, sorry, Echo. I didn't see you there.

ECHO
Going somewhere?

Cody grabs Echo by the arm and pulls him into the nearest storage closet.

INT. STORAGE CLOSET - CONTINUOUS

The door slides shut behind them. Cody is out of breath. Echo stares in confusion.

CODY
(out of breath)
I was hiding behind the Captain's desk when he came in with the Commander. I saw... I saw...

Echo shakes his shoulders.

ECHO
Saw what?

CODY
He... was about to kiss her. He said no. Then she practically forced herself onto him and his lips were this close to hers. Then I stood up.

Cody motions with his fingers how close their lips were. He starts to panic.

CODY
I interrupted them!

ECHO
It's okay. It's okay. Are they still in there?

Cody's eyes go wide.

CODY
Oh no.

ECHO
No, this is a good thing.

CODY
But the regulations-

ECHO
-Don't matter when you think about their happiness.

CODY
Oh.

Cody still looks confused.

CODY
How long has this been going on for?

ECHO
Fives told me that Rex told him he'd had a crush on her for at least a year.

CODY
A year? How did I not know?

ECHO
No one knew until recently. You can thank Fives and his meddling.

Fives walks in. His skin has a faint blue tint.

FIVES
I could hear you through the door.

ECHO
You're clean!

FIVES
Don't even remind me. I might just-

ECHO
-Cody found out!

FIVES
Found out?

ECHO
About Rex and Ahsoka!

FIVES
He did! You did!

CODY
They almost kissed. Then I left.

ECHO
They're still together.

Fives grabs Cody and Echo's arms and runs out the door.

INT. RESOLUTE HALLWAYS - CONTINUOUS

Fives, Echo, and Cody run up to Rex's room. The door slides open before they can reach it, though. Ahsoka walks out with a smug look on her face. They all stare at her in shock. She walks the other direction.

INT. CAPTAIN'S QUARTERS - CONTINUOUS

Fives, Echo, and Cody burst in.

FIVES
What happened?

Rex stares at the three of them. He rolls his eyes.

REX
Spreading rumors, Cody?

CODY
I know what I saw!

Rex looks down at the floor, then raises his gaze to meet their eager eyes.

REX
We had our second kiss.

Fives, Echo, and Cody surround Rex in a brotherly hug, bouncing up and down. Fives rubs the top of Rex's head.

FIVES
Way to go Rex!

Rex's face is completely red. Cody smiles at his brother.

ECHO
Wait, now we all have had dates before except for Cody, right?

Cody steps back, his face turning pink.

REX
Hey, hey, you know me and Ahsoka can't ever be something permanent, right?

FIVES
Why not?

REX
Because... you know, she's a Jedi.

FIVES
Who cares? You've seen the General with the Senator.

Rex freezes, thinking about a past distant memory.

REX
No. Me and Ahsoka are not a long term thing.

Although, Rex stands there wishing it could be.
