Author's Note: Warning sort of: Angst, fluff, and some drunkenness but idk how to write drunk.

INT. JEDI TEMPLE PADAWAN ROOM - DAY

Ahsoka sits at a table with Barriss in Ahsoka's bedroom in the Jedi Temple. Ahsoka looks extremely bored. Barriss looks like she's biting back her tongue.

BARRISS
Ahsoka?

AHSOKA
Yes?

BARRISS
What are you doing tonight?

AHSOKA
Nothing really. Why?

BARRISS
Well...

Barriss looks off into the distance. She shifts in her seat.

BARRISS
Are you going to see the clones? You do that often, right?

AHSOKA
I could go see them tonight. Why do you ask?

BARRISS
I'd like to come along.

AHSOKA
To see the 501st?

BARRISS
If you think it's alright.

AHSOKA
Okay. That would be fun.

BARRISS
Ahsoka? What are your thoughts about the rule on attachments?

AHSOKA
Well, I've started to believe that friendships are necessary. Plus I think the war has... helped along certain... attachments. I don't think it's a bad thing.

BARRISS
I see how close you are to your men. My master always warns me not to get too attached.

AHSOKA
My master is very close with his men. I think it's what makes us one of the best army battalions out there.

BARRISS
That's true. Ahsoka... I have something to tell you. But you can't tell anyone about this.

AHSOKA
What is it?

BARRISS
I want to see the 501st tonight because... I... I want to see Fives.

AHSOKA
(almost laughs)
Fives?
(gets serious)
Do you like him?

BARRISS
(smiles)
He's so dreamy. And the way he seems to care about nothing. He's quite heroic.

Barriss puts her elbow on the table and sighs, staring off into the distance. Ahsoka has a wide grin on her face.

AHSOKA
Let's go see him right now!

Ahsoka stands up and pulls Barriss to her feet.

BARRISS
What! Ahsoka!

Ahsoka drags her out the door.

AHSOKA
He's gonna love this.

BARRISS
You can't tell him how I feel!

The door slides shut behind them.

INT. BARRACKS - EVENING

Rex sits with Echo and Fives in the ARC's barracks. All three of them are dressed only in half their armor, and just their blacks cover the top of their bodies. Fives scrolls on a holopad as Echo and Rex clean their weapons. It's a quiet night.

The door slides open, revealing Ahsoka with a smirk on her face. Barriss hides off to the side. The clones can't see her.

The door shuts behind Ahsoka. She bends over them with a serious look on her face.

AHSOKA
You need to listen to me and do everything I say.

FIVES
(looks up)
Agh, Commander, we're on leave. Do you really have to bother-

AHSOKA
-You don't understand. I have someone waiting outside.

They all stare at her, confused.

AHSOKA
She wants to see Fives and... get to know him better.

Echo and Rex give Fives an 'oooh' look. Fives tries to hide his smile.

FIVES
Who is it?

AHSOKA
You can't tell anyone about this. It's Barriss.

Fives panics and backs away, closer to his bed.

FIVES
She scares me.

AHSOKA
Oh, come on, she's not that bad. She thinks you're *heroic*.

ECHO
Oooh.

REX
(smirks)
Bring her in.

FIVES
No! Don't!

ECHO
I have a better idea. If we go out on a triple date, we won't get caught as easily.

Rex and Ahsoka smile. Fives wipes the sweat off of his forehead.

EXT. RESTAURANT - CORUSCANT - NIGHT

Rex, Ahsoka, Fives, Barriss, Echo, and his date, Mia, sit at a table out back of a restaurant. A waitress takes their drink orders.

WAITRESS
What about for you?

BARRISS
I'll have tea.

REX
So will I.

FIVES
(croaks)
Water please.

ECHO
I'll take wine.

MIA
I'll have what he's having.

AHSOKA
I'll have a martini.

Rex, Fives, and Echo all stare at Ahsoka. The waitress walks away.

AHSOKA
What? We're on leave.

Fives stares at his date nervously. Echo leans over into Mia's space and whispers in her ear. Rex looks at Ahsoka.

REX
I can't let you drink that.

AHSOKA
Why not?

REX
You're underage.

AHSOKA
But I'm in the military.

REX
You're also a Jedi. Can Jedi have drinks?

AHSOKA
Skyguy and Obi Wan do sometimes.

REX
I'm still not letting you drink it.

AHSOKA
I'm older than you, and you get to drink!?

Rex sits back in his chair.

REX
Whatever. You can have it. Don't have too much.

AHSOKA
I know my limits.

Rex looks perplexed. Does she really?

On the other side of the table, Mia laughs loudly. Echo continues whispering in her ear.

BARRISS
So, Fives, tell me how you became an ARC trooper.

Barriss leans over the table to look at Fives closer. He leans back in his chair.

FIVES
Um. There was a Separatist invasion on Kamino and me and Echo were promoted after that battle.

Fives lets out a small yelp and lifts his legs off the ground, bumping the whole table. Rex looks down to see Barriss' leg chase after Fives'.

FIVES
Maybe I need some fresh air.

Fives stands up and leaves. Barriss follows him. Rex looks over to Echo at the end of the table. Echo sprinkles Mia in feathery kisses all around her face. Rex sighs and looks back at Ahsoka.

The waitress comes back with the drinks and hands them out.

Rex swaps drinks with Ahsoka.

REX
No way.

Ahsoka uses the force to take her drink back. She hands Rex his drink.

AHSOKA
This is mine.

REX
Bad idea.

Rex turns to look at Echo again. Echo's mouth is locked with Mia's. Rex's face flushes pink and he turns away. He sees Ahsoka staring at them.

REX
I guess we're on our own tonight.

AHSOKA
(looks at Rex)
That's not so bad.

Rex looks down at the drink in her hand. It's empty. He gulps.

REX
You drank all of it already?

AHSOKA
(giggles)
It tasted really good.

Rex takes the glass from her hand and sets it on the table. Ahsoka takes his drink and sips it.

REX
(eyes wide)
Hey, that's mine.

Rex gently takes it back.

REX
Maybe we should head back.

AHSOKA
Back where?

Rex stands up. He pulls Ahsoka to her feet.

REX
Let's go.

Rex locks arms with Ahsoka and guides her past Echo and Mia. He takes a quick glance at Echo. He hasn't even come up for air. Rex sighs and guides Ahsoka out the door.

EXT. CORUSCANT STREETS - CONTINUOUS

Rex holds Ahsoka's hand as they walk down the street. Ahsoka appears to be normal, besides the fact that she keeps bumping into Rex as she walks.

REX
Have you ever had alcohol before?

AHSOKA
Nope.

Rex looks at her, concerned.

AHSOKA
Rex? Did you see Echo back there?

REX
(stares ahead)
Yes.

Ahsoka leans a head on Rex's arm.

AHSOKA
He loves her.

REX
Yes, I'm sure he does.

Ahsoka stares forward, lost in thought. Rex guides her all the way back to the barracks.

INT. BARRACKS - LATER

Rex guides Ahsoka into his private room and sits her down in the chair behind his desk. Rex rummages through the drawers.

AHSOKA
What're you doing?

REX
Looking for something. Ah, here it is.

Rex holds up a small vile. He then gets a cup of water and puts a few drops inside.

REX
Take this. It'll help.

Ahsoka takes the cup from him, then stands up with a wobble and puts the drink on the desk.

AHSOKA
(playfully)
That looks awfully suspicious, Rex.

Ahsoka wobbles even more and takes a step towards Rex. She trips and falls into his arms.

REX
Ahsoka-

AHSOKA
-I'm fine.

She props herself up against Rex as he holds her waist.

AHSOKA
Is the room normally this blurry?

Rex sighs and wraps both arms around her waist. He hoists her up into the air and lies her down on the bed. Rex stands over her. She looks up at him.

AHSOKA
Your eyes are beautiful.

Rex's eyes gleam as he smiles down at her.

REX
Get some sleep. I'll be in Fives' room.

AHSOKA
But Barriss is probably there!

REX
Believe me, I bet she's long gone.

Rex heads for the door.

AHSOKA
Rex!

He turns around.

REX
What?

AHSOKA
Don't leave me please.

Ahsoka reaches a hand up, gripping the air.

AHSOKA
The night is still young.

Rex covers his mouth with his hand to keep from laughing. He reluctantly walks back over to the bed.

REX
Ahsoka, please close your eyes and go to sleep.

Ahsoka closes her eyes. Rex stares at her peaceful face.

AHSOKA
I can feel you watching me.

Rex can't help but put a hand on her face. He rubs his thumb up and down her cheek. Rex leans closer, in awe of how smooth her skin feels.

Ahsoka puts a hand on his arm, sliding it all the way up to his shoulder. She tugs on him. Rex leans closer, his chest hovering over hers.

AHSOKA
Rex?

REX
Hm?

AHSOKA
Kiss me.

Rex jolts away in shock.

REX
Ahsoka!

Ahsoka sits up on the bed and throws her arms around Rex. He tries to peel her arms away. Ahsoka touches his forehead with hers.

AHSOKA
(whines)
Rex.

REX
Ahsoka, you're not yourself.

Rex stands up, but Ahsoka holds on tighter. She wraps her legs around his waist. Rex stands there with his arms out. He's not supporting her at all.

The door slides open. Fives runs in out of breath. The door closes.

AHSOKA
(whines)
Hold me.

Fives' breathing quickens. He tries to back away but Rex snaps an arm up. Fives stops.

FIVES
This is not what I wanted to see.

REX
She's never had alcohol before.

FIVES
Oh no.

REX
She won't let go of me. Pull her off.

FIVES
(approaches Rex)
This is a bad idea.

REX
Just do it.

Fives puts his arms under the Commander's shoulders and pulls her off. Rex grabs her legs and unwraps them from himself. They carry her to the bed and lie her down.

Barriss stumbles through the door. Rex looks at Fives.

REX
What happened?

FIVES
I ran into a bar to get away from her.

BARRISS
Fives, I know you like me back.

REX
Did she drink, too?

BARRISS
Yes, I did. I thought it would make Fives like me more.

Fives walks over to Barriss and puts a hand on her arm.

FIVES
I'm taking you back to the Jedi Temple. And you better keep quiet.

BARRISS
I'll be quiet if you kiss me.

Fives and Rex exchange a look.

Fives squints his eyes shut and dives for her mouth, just barely brushing up against her lips. Barriss sighs and tips over. Fives catches her and notices that she's passed out.

REX
(laughs)
That kiss knocked her out.

FIVES
At least she's quiet.

Fives hoists her over his shoulder and carries her out the door.

Ahsoka sits up in the bed and lunges for Rex's neck. She catches him by surprise and slams her lips into his.

REX
(wide eyes)
Mm! Mm...

Rex gives in and kisses her back, sliding a hand around her waist and putting the other on her cheek. Without breaking the kiss, Ahsoka lies back down on the bed, pulling Rex's head down with her. Rex brakes away.

REX
Commander, get some rest.

Rex stands up straight.

AHSOKA
It's AHSOKA!

Rex smiles with his back turned to her and walks out, leaving her in his bed.

INT. ARC DORM - CONTINUOUS

Rex walks into Fives' and Echo's room. It's empty. Fives must still be dropping Barriss back at the Temple, and Echo must be out with Mia. Rex smiles, thinking about Echo and Mia as he sits down on Fives' bed.

Rex then thinks about Ahsoka and puts his head in his hands, groaning.

ECHO
Something wrong?

REX
(sits up)
Did you just get back?

ECHO
(smirks)
Yeah.

Echo crosses the room to sit next to his brother.

ECHO
What's bothering you?

REX
(sighs)
Ahsoka is drunk in my room.

Echo's eyes widen.

REX
Everything's fine, but... she kept... coming on to me. Is that really how she feels about me?

Echo puts a hand on Rex's shoulder.

ECHO
How do you feel about her?

REX
...I really care about her.

ECHO
Do you think the way you feel about her could be the same way she feels about you?

Rex stares into space, thinking. Rex shuffles in place.

REX
I guess so.

ECHO
Maybe you need to talk to her about it.

REX
(panics)
Echo, I can't do that! This whole thing is already breaking every rule in the books.

ECHO
But you can't help how you feel.

Rex looks down at the floor. An emotion he's never felt this strongly overcomes him. Tears fill the brim of Rex's eyes.

REX
I love her, Echo. And I can't be with her!

Rex buries his face in his hands. Echo lets his hand slide to Rex's back. Rex starts shaking, holding back tears.

REX
You don't know how hard this is.

Echo leans over and embraces Rex. Rex buries his face into Echo's chest. Rex shakes. The tear floodgates open.

ECHO
Let it out.

Echo rubs a hand on Rex's back. Rex sobs.

The door slides open. Fives storms in. He sees Rex crying and then rushes over by his side.

FIVES
What's wrong?

ECHO
He's just sad that he can't be with Ahsoka.

Fives leans against Rex's back and hugs him, putting his head on Echo's shoulder.

FIVES
You'll be okay, Rex.

Rex manages to lift an arm up and pat Fives. Fives squeezes him tighter.

REX
(through tears)
Why couldn't the rules be different?

FIVES
Just break the rules.

Echo gives Fives a look.

ECHO
Rex, you need to do what you think is right.

REX
I don't even know what to do right now.

ECHO
Then maybe you just need time. Just wait and see what happens.

Rex sits up, wiping his eyes.

REX
(sniffing)
You're right. I'll wait. I'll see what Ahsoka does when she's not tipsy.

ECHO
If she loves you back, then you can have that chat with her.

REX
You're right, Echo. Thanks.

Rex buries his face in Echo's neck and surrounds him in a hug. Echo holds him back.

ECHO
That's what brothers are for.

Rex pulls away.

FIVES
I don't get a hug?

Rex smiles and pulls Fives in close. Fives holds him tight.

FIVES
I was the one who noticed you loved her first.

REX
If it wasn't for you and your teasing, who knows where I'd be.

FIVES
Anytime, Rex.

REX
Oh... I kind of have to sleep here for the night.

FIVES
I'll sleep on the floor.

Echo stands up and walks over to his bed as Fives slides down onto the floor.

FIVES
Goodnight.

REX
I never asked how your date was, Echo?

Echo climbs into bed and falls back onto the sheets.

ECHO
(sighs)
It was perfect.

FIVES
(rolls eyes)
I've got two love birds for roommates tonight.

Echo throws a pillow at Fives' head.

ECHO
Shut up.

Fives takes the pillow and curls up with it.

FIVES
Goodnight.

ECHO
Goodnight.

REX
Goodnight.

Rex stares up at the ceiling, thinking about Ahsoka. A silent tear falls down his cheek.
