Chapter Sixty-Eight

A Conference with a Dragon

In the base, everyone was soon quiet and gathered around Tyroth and Sephie on the sofa as they got ready to explain what had happened at Fowler's Superiors' office at the Military Base.

Monalisa and Leonardo remembered only too well the grilling they had received when they arrived, and they were extremely curious to know how Tyroth and Sephie handled it.

Though given the looks on their faces, they seemed like they had been able to handle themselves, and that it was Fowler who looked rather drained.

"So, from the beginning?" Splinter asked as he sat cross legged on one of the mattresses and sipped his tea.

Pandora and Kemeko sat with Michelangelo on another Mattress, Donatello was on a beanbag, Monalisa and Raphael were on the armchair, and Leonardo was next to Master Splinter.

Meanwhile the Autobots were gathered either standing or sitting near the raised platform.

Ironhide, Bulkhead, Bumblebee and Arcee had some engex whilst Optimus and Ratchet were drinking plain energon.

"Well, that's the thing Master Splinter." Tyroth said "is where to start indeed, no sooner did Sephie and I step out of Fowler's Jet that we got a lot of funny looks!"

Sephie nodded.

"And from what I can remember, soldiers are never put off guard, so to speak, but these guys were, especially as they took one look at Tyroth."

Tyroth rolled his eyes.

"I'm kinda used to it now." He muttered then looked at Fowler who was still sipping his tea and looking pale.

"Anyway...this is how it went..."

Flashback

After leaving the Autobot Base, Fowler flew Tyroth and Sephie in his jet to the military base to meet with his superiors.

Tyroth was a little grumpy as when he climbed into the Jet, he felt rather squashed because he was so big, and his wings were cramped.

Sephie sat behind Fowler as he flew the jet, and she kept glancing at her husband who was all scrunched up.

Despite how angry he looked, he did look rather funny, and she wondered if this was how Kemeko felt when she had been hiding in the vent back at the museum where they first discovered the existence of the Autobots and their friend's alliance with them.

After just over half an hour they arrived at the Military base and Fowler carefully landed the jet before opening the top and Tyroth breathed a huge sigh of relief as he sat up straight and opened out his wings that were aching as well as tingling.

"You okay hun?" Sephie asked as she stood up and climbed out of the jet.

Tyroth nodded yet he glared slightly at Fowler.

"Um, maybe I should consider a bigger jet?" Fowler asked.

Tyroth frowned harder.

"I'm gonna fly back on the way home." He stated stretching out his arms "Once we're done here!"

"Follow me." Fowler said gesturing with his head to the main building and Sephie linked her arm with Tyroth's and they followed him.

As they did, they saw many soldiers on the base, and many as soon as they saw Tyroth froze and the other soldiers who had been marching behind saw them and they bumped into each other almost falling over each other like dominos!

Usually if soldiers messed up in marching, they would receive a huge reprimanding from the sergeant but even they were shocked when they took in Tyroth's appearance.

Tyroth wasn't surprised that the soldiers and their superiors were alarmed, yet he kept on walking, Fowler meanwhile puffed up his chest.

"At ease!" he barked "As you were!"

The soldiers and their superiors instantly followed that command, yet it was difficult to concentrate as they watched the agent walk into the building followed by the Gecko and dragon.

Before long, Fowler arrived at the same office he brought Leonardo and Monalisa and the guards stumbled in shock seeing Tyroth.

"Don't tell me..."

"I'm not dreaming..."

"At ease!" Fowler said sternly "Like the ones before them, they mean no harm!"

One of the guards nodded and he knocked on the door before the voice of General Bryce was heard and Fowler, Tyroth and Sephie entered the room.

No sooner did they enter than General Bryce stared at the two mutants and his eyes widened, as did the two guards standing behind him.

"Well blow me down..." General Bryce breathed "Is that...a dragon?"

Fowler looked at General Bryce then at Tyroth who nodded.

"Yes." He said, "I am a Dragon, and I am as real as you are."

Fowler nodded quickly.

"This is Tyroth, and this is Sephie the Gecko." He said in a hurried tone then looked to the two mutants.

"May you both please explain to my superiors who you are and how you came to be what you are?"

"Gladly Agent Fowler." Tyroth agreed and stood before the desk, Sephie beside him.

"Good day, I am Tyroth, and this is my wife Sephie."

"How...How do you do?" General Bryce asked in a polite but rather shaky voice.

"Pleased to meet you." Sephie said with a smile.

"I know you have a lot of questions." Tyroth said "And we will be happy to tell you, we will tell you our stories, our lives and our origin, but we do have a few warnings to give."

"Warnings?" General Bryce asked.

Tyroth's eyes flashed, and he activated his mana that glowed in the dark room and the general and his guards gasped a little as they watched.

"What is this?" they asked.

"Only a small fraction to what I am capable of." Tyroth replied "And believe me when I say, I know how to use it, and anyone who has gotten on my bad side has regretted it."

He added that last part with a snarl and General Bryce swallowed hard, yet he continued to look serious.

"I...See..." he said "Very well, then I promise that I give you my word that what is spoken here is under strict confidence, and nothing will go past these walls, I only wish to know of who you are, and how you came to know the Autobots."

"Of course General Bryce." Sephie said then turned to Tyroth "Shall we hun?"

Tyroth nodded.

"Lets." He agreed.

Like Leonardo and Monalisa before them, Tyroth and Sephie told their story, from their human lives in Chicago before they were mutated after being almost assassinated by one of Overlord's goons, they also spoke about how they had settled in their home of Mutopia to which surprised the General, and Fowler nodded as he confirmed Tyroth and Sephie spoke the truth.

Sephie also showed them photos of their friends and family, such as the Chicago Knights, Tyroth's parents and also of Hugh the police officer who Fowler also reminded General Bryce of also being aware of the Autobots after he had inspected the Museum after the Autobots had tried to recover the Harvester with the Hamato Clan's help.

Tyroth was a little hesitant to speak of where exactly Mutopia was as he was still wary as he was right to be given how the sanctuary's secret had already been compromised once by Diablo's betrayal, so he didn't give any exact details where it was.

They then spoke of how they had met the Hamato Clan, and how they had battled many enemies and dangers including the demon invasion over ten years ago.

"Demon invasion?" General Bryce mused "I believe I was aware that there was such a thing in Chicago."

"It wasn't a myth." Tyroth said "It really happened."

Sephie shivered a little as she thought of the many things that had happened during that time and how a lot of her friends including Tyroth were affected.

Michelangelo getting poisoned, Tyroth getting seduced by one of the demons who was a succubus, and Monalisa almost got her arm sliced off.

Then she remembered how she had been killed by the leader and she could still feel where the blade had run through her along with Tyroth's grief when he thought she really had died, only to have been saved by Donatello who had been carrying the Well's water.

"Long story short," Tyroth spoke bringing Sephie back down to Earth "An ancient evil god like being was trapped, and a key to the prison was hidden on Earth, Myself and the others are the last guardians, those ten years ago, demonic servants tried to find the key, They held great powers and could kill humans with a single touch, that included our mutant friends, the Hamato Clan, only Mutopians were immune due to the Well's magical properties."

'What?" Fowler asked.

"A guardian?" General Bryce asked "A Mutopian?"

"Mutopians is what we call ourselves given our home's name, and those who were mutated by the Well." Sephie explained.

"And when I mean Guardian." Tyroth said "We are the last guardians of Earth to protect it from evil, whether it be magic, supernatural or of Earth."

Sephie nodded then got back on the topic.

"Together with the Hamato clan, we, and the rest of the Chicago Knights fought the demon, succeeding in killing their leader and driving them off, saving not only the world, but the entire universe, and countless others beyond it."

General Bryce blinked as he listened.

"Wow, that truly happened?" he asked to which Tyroth nodded.

"Also around five years back, there was an explosion in Lake Michigan?" he asked.

General Bryce thought for a moment then he glanced up at the Dragon.

"A Planned nuclear weapons test?" he asked.

Sephie bit her lip and looked up at her husband as she remembered only too well what that was, and it was when he had defeated and killed Vulstrun.

"That's what was told hmm?" Tyroth asked "Well, that was me." He reported.

A single punch at the ground. Think about that before you make an enemy of me."

General Bryce blinked then listened speechless as he heard what had been the reason behind it, yet he was relieved to realise that Tyroth and his friends had once again stopped a dangerous being causing more chaos in the world.

After Tyroth had finished explaining, there was a long silence as General Bryce contemplated the situation.

"So..." he said, "All these years like that turtle guy and lizard woman that came here before you, you have been living under the city of Chicago peacefully and fighting crime in the shadows?"

Tyroth and Sephie nodded.

"That we have." Sephie said "We are peaceful people, we have never interfered with human life, only to stop wrongdoing."

"My wife is correct in what she says." Tyroth said "And as well as protect human life, we also protect each other, and believe me when I say this:

'If it's to protect our family, be it the Kingdom or the entire world, we would make anyone our enemy! That's what it means to be a dragon, a guardian of his people, the Mutopians!"

As he said those words, his skin lit up with his mana and a few flames appeared behind his teeth.

General Bryce was a little shocked, and the guards went pale.

Fowler took a few breaths as he sat on a chair nearby and tried not to pass out.

"This Dragon guy is serious..." he thought to himself "I better not underestimate him..."

Another few seconds of silence followed, and General Bryce took another breath.

"I have listened to your words, and I do understand every word and believe it." He said, "And given how you have done many good deeds for humankind in secret, like your friends, and we have no reason to fear you, we will grant you and your friends sanctuary, as well as a liaison with the Autobots."

Sephie smiled softly, being careful not to get too excited, yet Tyroth bowed his head.

"Thank you." He said gratefully "My people will be overjoyed to know."

General Bryce nodded back then looked at Fowler.

"I have to say William." He said, "You indeed have a knack of coming across some interesting beings."

Fowler chuckled and scratched the back of his head.

"Well, um..." he stuttered "I guess I'm just lucky, I suppose."

"Or very unlucky, I don't know?" he thought to himself "Cursed in a way!"

"Again." General Bryce snapped "Don't let me regret my decision!"

"Oh, you have no worries." Tyroth said "You won't regret anything."

General Bryce nodded again.

"I'll hold you to it." He said then looked up at Tyroth.

"Dragon, may I note your accent?"

"What about it?" Tyroth asked.

"You have lived in America for many years from what you told me, but you never let go of your accent."

"Is it that noticeable?" Tyroth asked Sephie with a cocked eyebrow to which Sephie nodded.

"It is true yes General." She said "Tyroth still kept his Swedish accent in parts."

"I see..." General Bryce mused.

"You can take the guy out of Sweden, but you can't take Sweden out of the guy!" Tyroth chuckled mischievously.

End Flashback

"...and that's how it happened." Sephie concluded.

The Hamato Clan and the Autobots just stood or sat in silence as they listened.

"And after the meeting was over, I couldn't bear get back in the Jet after that." Tyroth said "Given how cramped it was in there for a guy like me, so I decided to fly behind or ride on the top! And it turned out it was best for me to ride on the roof since I can't fly as fast as the jet."

Pandora and Kemeko giggled slightly as they imagined Tyroth riding on top of Fowler's jet.

"General Bryce was rather shocked." Fowler said, "But I'm glad we gave you the same chance as the Hamato Clan."

"Me too William." Sephie said "And we will need to inform our friends back in Mutopia."

"And when you are ready to introduce your friends to us, we shall be waiting." Optimus spoke up "But for now, yet me say we are honoured to have you on our team."

"You said it Prime!" Michelangelo cheered raising his glass of soda and the others joined in.

"Thanks guys." Tyroth smiled as he bowed to the Autobots and the Hamato Clan "And we look forward to working with you and helping you in all we can do to help fight against the Decepticons."

"And we are grateful." Optimus replied "Always grateful to what help can be given."

So the meeting went well, and Tyroth and Sephie have been granted the same protection!

Now in the next chapters onwards, we'll be on the Transformers Prime Episode 'Out of His Head' See you then!

Note: For those who watch Fairy Tail who recognise the quote Tyroth speaks about 'If it's to protect our family, be it the Kingdom or the entire world, we would make anyone our enemy! That's what it means to be!"
