Chapter Thirteen

Stories Told

About ten minutes had passed by and the Hamato Clan introduced themselves to Fowler by their names and soon they were sitting with drinks, and the Autobots all had some engex each and were sipping it quietly as they listened to Splinter telling Fowler about himself, the turtles, and their origins.

After Fowler had gathered himself to listen and Donatello had given him some Jasmine Tea as well as distributed drinks to everyone else, he sat without saying a word as Splinter told his story from when he was the great ninjutsu master Hamato Yoshi's Pet rat, to the accident with the mutagen that mutated him and his sons, and it's origins with the Utroms, how they met April and Casey, and about their enemies, the Foot Clan.

After Splinter finished his story Fowler sighed.

"Why am I not surprised? At least aliens were responsible for you, but I'm not sure I can handle many more aliens in general."

"Don't worry, dude.!" Michelangelo piped up "We got other stories too!"

"You betcha!" Pandora agreed.

"Not now guys." Donatello reminded them "That can be another time."

Pandora and Michelangelo looked crestfallen, but they agreed.

Splinter then turned to Monalisa.

"It was some years later we met Monalisa who has been with us for nearly twenty years." He explained placing a paw on her hand.

Fowler looked at the lizard lady before him who had been fanning him with her metal tessen earlier.

"And what's your story?" he asked raising an eyebrow.

Monalisa sighed and the rest of the clan looked rather uncomfortable, and the Autobots also looked saddened.

"I wasn't born a mutant." She explained "I used to be human..."

"Really!?" Fowler exclaimed as he looked again at Monalisa, taking in her scaley appearance.

Monalisa then went onto explain her story trying to be as discreet as possible, but Fowler stared in shock as well as looked disgusted when he found out the full extent of Monalisa's mutation.

"Uncle Sam's Beard..." he breathed, and He looked down at the floor.

"Sometimes I wonder why I bother, when scum like that is allowed to walk freely." He looked at Monalisa with sympathy "You have my condolences, miss."

"Thank you, Agent Fowler," Monalisa said chewing her lip "But despite such a horrible fate, I did find happiness with my new family." She smiled at the turtles, April, Casey, and Splinter.

I have a loving mate in Raphael" she kissed Raphael's cheek then she looked at Pandora who was still perched on the arm of the sofa.

"...and a beautiful daughter!"

"Heya!" Pandora winked and clicked her tongue.

Fowler was silent for a moment as his head darted around like a meerkat as he looked at the hybrid, then at Monalisa and Raphael then at Pandora again.

"Hold up." He said pointing his index fingers up trying to make sense of the situation. "You're telling me, this one is not just a mutant, but a part human, part lizard AND part mutant turtle?" he pointed at Pandora his voice getting high with shock to which all the mutants and humans nodded.

Fowler went pale again.

"I'm feeling a headache the size of New Jersey coming!" he groaned.

"Too much to handle?" Pandora chuckled looking at the agents' stricken expression.

He's gonna pass out again!" Bulkhead stated.

Fowler shook his head.

"No, no. I'm good. I'm good!" Fowler protested yet he rubbed his temples as the stress got too much and he looked at the grinning Hybrid again, and the reality of how she come to be, hit him again like a sledgehammer.

"I'm not good!" he stated, and he passed out on the sofa!

"Told ya!" Bulkhead said triumphantly whilst Pandora started laughing.

"Oh man! Is this gonna be a regular thing?" she asked.

Ironhide sighed and shook his head whilst Arcee stifled a laugh.

"Out like a light!" she said.

"Agent Fowler has... an impressive record of this reaction." Optimus said cocking his head as he observed the unconscious agent.

"Makes you wonder how he was able to get into the military in the first place." Bulkhead shrugged then he saw Fowler stir again after a few minutes.

"Ugh... where... in Sam hill..." Fowler sat up again rubbing his head then looked at everyone staring at him.

"What did I miss?" he asked.

"Nothing of importance, Agent Fowler." Optimus informed him.

Leonardo sighed and looked at Optimus as he had his arm around Kemeko.

"I wonder how he'll take this next one?" he asked the Prime then looked back at Fowler.

"We still got one more story to tell." The blue masked turtle informed "And this one involves Kemeko." he looked at his adopted daughter who bowed to Agent Fowler.

"Konnichiwa Agent Fowler." She said politely.

Fowler blinked.

"Conni-what?" he asked,

"I take it you don't know Japanese?" Leonardo asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I thought most agents knew different languages." Michelangelo asked.

"Well obviously he doesn't know Japanese." Donatello said before shushing his brother.

Kemeko bowed again to Fowler.

"I said, Good day Agent Fowler in Japanese."

"Japanese?" Fowler asked "She's Japanese? ... Sure, why not. It's the most agreeable I've heard all day." He shrugged.

He had heard so much crazy stories he never imagined to be real, he was relieved to hear something that actually made sense for once.

"I am Japanese." Kemeko said pointing to her eyes and her skin tone.

"Well, Asian American." She added "I am the only human in my family, Leonardo is my father." She leaned into the blue masked turtle who held her close.

"Yes, she is my daughter, I've raised her since she was a baby, as my own." Leonardo confirmed.

"So, she's adopted then?" Fowler asked "That's a relief. Unless she was kidnapped."

Pandora narrowed her eyes and opened her mouth to berate Fowler for even suggesting such a thing, but Monalisa glared at her daughter and the Hybrid closed her mouth and looked down.

"May I tell my story?" Kemeko requested, feeling a little annoyed "That way you should get the answers you seek.

"I doubt that" Fowler muttered "But fire away!" he consented.

Leonardo looked at Kemeko and stroked the white streak in her hair.

"Are you sure you're okay to tell it Lotus?" he said, "After all you went through to learn the truth..."

Kemeko placed a hand on his paw.

"I am, dad." She reassured the turtle "The past can't be changed, and even if it hurts at times, I will not let it control me." She looked at the white streak and smiled at her father who looked at her proudly.

"That's my girl."

Ironhide leaned close to Optimus and spoke softly in Cybertronian.

"Such a brave child."

"Indeed, Ironhide." Optimus nodded in agreement "She is a fine example of the human species at its finest."

Fowler sat and listened to Kemeko's story, all about Karai and Chaplin, and how they were associates of the Shredder, with Karai being the daughter of the evil Crime Lord and Chaplin being his top scientist to them before leaving the Foot and trying to start afresh but how they had been hunted down, and Chaplin being murdered and Karai escaping and fleeing to the Hamato Clan who protected her until she (Kemeko) was born, then Karai's death at the Shredder and Leonardo raising her as his own after that.

Kemeko told most of the story with Leonardo cutting in every so often and the agent could see the hurt in the turtles eyes as he spoke of Karai's final moments.

The Hamato Clan also listened and those who remembered those events looked saddened and Monalisa and April shed a couple of tears as they remembered Karai's death at the hands of the man who once called her father.

Splinter also held Leonardo's hand seeing how upset Leonardo looked as he remembered holding Karai as she slipped away, and how it still hurt him he had been unable to save her.

Pandora reached over and held Kemeko's hand in comfort when Kemeko spoke about finally learning the truth of the Shredder being her grandfather and how he had tried to murder her adopted family but how they had gotten out alive yet not without scars as she (Kemeko) had tried to commit Seppuku rather than be forced into being part of the Foot.

When she reached that part, she lifted the purple top she wore to show the scar from where she had stabbed herself and Fowler's eyes widened and the Autobots looked sympathetic.

"This and the white streak in my hair are constant reminders of what happened when I knew the truth." Kemeko concluded.

Fowler stared at Kemeko again, he blinked then he fell to the side as he passed out once more much to the amazement of everyone.

"And that's three times he's fainted!" Bulkhead stated.

"Three times in a short space of time!" Arcee said "Whatever next?"

Monalisa rolled her eyes and started fanning him again.

"This is starting to get old!" Raphael groaned.

"You're telling me!" Monalisa agreed.

"Can I throw water over him now?" Pandora asked only to be told no by her parents which made her pout.

"I'm as disappointed as you, Pandora," Michelangelo said "But it might just be for the best. I think it might be one of those federal offences."

"So?" Pandora shrugged her shoulders "Whose gonna believe him?"

"A fair point!" Donatello chimed in.

"But the answer is still no!" Monalisa snapped to which Pandora pouted more.

"Don't pull that face young lady!" she scolded the hybrid whilst Kemeko chuckled at Pandora's sulky expression.

"I never get to have any fun!" Pandora mumbled.

"I heard that!" Raphael warned.

Just then Fowler awoke again with a start.

"I'm okay! I'm okay!" he said quickly.

"I believe that less and less." Ironhide mumbled to which the other Autobots agreed.

"I wonder what's gonna make him faint again?" Arcee asked to which Bumblebee shrugged and bleeped.

"…so that's my story." Kemeko said then she looked at Leonardo "I'm lucky to be amongst those who love me…. despite me being the only human amongst mutants in this family."

"Well, that's great." Fowler said, "I'm really happy for you."

He looked at the Hamato Clan and their friends then picked up the cup of Jasmine tea and sipped it.

"Thanks for telling me your stories." He said, "But now because you're aware of the Autobots, my superiors at the Pentagon will want to know about you."

"WHAT!?" The Hamato Clan cried in unison to which Fowler jumped slightly and the Autobots also looked concerned.

"You're not turning us over to the government, are you?" Leonardo asked fearfully.

"We've been hiding from the humans for years and we know how they'll respond to us!" Donatello agreed.

"We've suffered nasty torturous experiments by the Foot in the years we've been alive!" Monalisa stated "Myself and Pandora mostly!"

"What about our friends in Mutopia?" Michelangelo panicked "They're already on edge after Diablo's betrayal, what if they learn of this?"

"Listen here Mate!" Raphael growled taking out his sai but Splinter stopped him.

"Enough Raphael!" he snapped then turned to Agent Fowler.

"Agent Fowler." He said, "I am aware that you are merely doing your job, but my children and I are aware of how humans will react to us and how your superiors may see us, we have gone through many bad experiences with our enemies who have wanted to take us apart and hurt us."

Fowler looked at the Hamato Clan.

"When I say my superiors will want to know, it'll be for your protection." He explained "I promise you no harm will come to you, but I have to do my job as those Bots have breached protocol!" he glared up at Optimus.

"Prime?" Ironhide said "You're not gonna let Agent Fowler take our new friends into custody, are you?"

Optimus vented.

He didn't want their new friends to get into trouble, but he trusted Agent Fowler to make sure that like him and his team, he would keep them away from danger of unsuspecting humans.

"I do not wish our new friends to be exposed to the humans, given how for many years they have worked tirelessly to stay hidden away, but we must not get in the way of our human liaison doing his job."

Bumblebee bleeped and whirred worryingly.

"But Optimus..." Arcee said.

"I'm sorry Arcee." Optimus said, "But if we are to remain under the protection of Fowler as we try and fight this war hidden from the humans, we must follow the rules of the Earthlings, as we are guests on their planet."

The Prime looked back at Fowler as he explained what he was going to do.

"I have my helicopter up top, but I can only take two of you."

"I'll go with you." Leonardo volunteered "As leader of the Clan, I shall take on the task of explaining to your superiors about us."

"My son?" Splinter said concerned.

"Dad?" Kemeko asked worried.

"It's okay Lotus." Leonardo said, "Everything will be alright, after we've sorted things with Fowler and his bosses, I'll be back."

"You won't be alone Leo."

Everyone turned to look at Monalisa who stepped forward.

"I shall go with you." She stated.

"Mum?!" Pandora cried.

"Babe?" Raphael objected as he stepped over to his mate concerned as well as reluctant at her volunteering to go.

"I'll be alright." Monalisa said "Leo will need moral support and I believe I can handle any problem or questions thrown at us."

"Are you sure about this my daughter?" Splinter asked placing a paw on Monalisa's hand.

"I'm sure Master Splinter." Monalisa said fervently then turned to Raphael and Pandora.

"I don't like this babe." Raphael confessed, he never liked being away from his mate and he was worried on what could happen then they met up with Fowler's superiors, given how it was always shoot first, ask questions later or anything or anyone not human were instantly labelled as the enemy.

"We'll be back soon." Monalisa promised her mate.

"And we'll keep in touch!" she held up her shell cell and winked.

Michelangelo, Donatello, Splinter, Kemeko, April and Casey were worried, but they trusted Leonardo and Monalisa to be safe.

"Okay mum." Pandora said hugging her mother "Just be careful."

"I will." Monalisa promised as she hugged Pandora back and kissed her forehead.

Raphael also embraced his mate and Kemeko hugged Leonardo close.

After five minutes and saying their goodbyes, Fowler lead Leonardo and Monalisa to the elevator to go up top to the helicopter that waited for them.

"We'll return soon." Leonardo promised as he waved at his family as well as blow a kiss at Kemeko who stood there looking scared.

Monalisa did the same to Raphael and Pandora as they stood watching her.

"Stay safe my children." Splinter whispered as he watched the Elevator doors close and start to travel upwards.

So Fowler has learnt the stories and origins of the Hamato Clan, and needless to say, he's been rather shocked at them all, and he still doesn't know about their other friends or the previous adventures they've had before!

Now he's requested Leonardo and Monalisa to come with him to meet his superiors, and for those who've watched the show, can you guess what comes next?
