Bulbasaur and the Hidden Village
Our two young heroes, Ash and Jovan, leads their friends deep into the forest. Since Ash doesn't have a compass, Ash must rely on his instincts and that means trouble.
"Don't worry." Ash said, looking over his left shoulder. "I'm positive that this way will take us back to the path."
"Pika." Pikachu said who was sitting on Ash's backpack.
"Positive, huh?" Slade asked.
"That's what you said an hour ago." Misty said.
"We're tired." July said.
They all stop walking and Ash and Jovan turns around to look at them
"We told you we should stick to the main road." Anna said to Jovan. "But you had to take a shortcut."
"I didn't take a shortcut." Jovan said. "It was you and Misty who said to go this way."
"Ha." Misty retorted. "If Anna and I were leading, we wouldn't have gotten lost like this."
"Who says we're lost?" Ash argues.
"Listen you two." Anna said. "If you don't know where you are, if you don't know where you're going, that means you're lost!"
"Chill, chill." Seth said, calming the four down.
"Alright." Misty said, crossing her arms.
"But remind us to yell at Ash and Jovan some more if we ever get to Vermillion City." Anna said.
They all started walking again for a couple more hours and found a few boulders.
"Time for a brake." Ash said, sitting down on the rock as they all sat down.
"Huh?" Jovan asked. Jovan turns around to see a two small grass Pokémon drinking from a small lake.
Ash turns around to see what Jovan was looking at. "Oh wow." Ash smiled as they all took out their Pokédex.
"Oddish. This Pokémon is typically found in the forest, scattering pollen as it walks around."
Ash puts his Pokédex away. "I'll catch it." Ash said, taking out a Pokéball.
"Hold it." Misty said, walking in front of him.
"What for?" Ash asked.
"Because I'm going to catch that Pokémon." Misty said, turning around to face Ash.
"Ahh," Ash groans. "No way, Misty. I saw it first."
Misty puts her hands on her hips. "But we found it near the water and water is my specialty."
Misty and Ash both notices it was leaving.
"Go, Starmie!" Misty shouted, throwing the Pokéball in the air and Starmie appears and landed in front of Oddish.
"Oddish!" Oddish gasps. It started to run away from Starmie.
"Water Gun, now!" Misty commanded.
Starmie releases a spiral of water from the tip of its up-most limb at Oddish, sending it in the air.
"Now that's the way, Starmie!" Misty cheered. "Tackle it!"
Starmie tackles Oddish and Oddish landed on the ground.
"That weaken it." Misty smirks. "Time to catch it now. Pokéball, go!" Misty throws the Pokéball at Oddish, but the Pokéball was bounced back into the air.
"Uh oh." Misty said as they watch the Pokéball lands on the ground.
They notice two Pokémon was standing between Oddish and Starmie. They are a small, quadruped Pokémon with green to bluish-green skin and dark patches. It has red eyes with white pupils and sclera and pointed, ear-like structure on top of its head. Its snout is short and blunt, and it has a wide mouth. A pair of small, pointed teeth visible in the upper jaw when its mouth is open. Each of its thick legs ends with three sharp claws. On its back is a green plant bulb, which is grown from a seed planted there at birth.
"Whoa!" Ash gasps. "What's that?"
The two Pokémon growled.
"Wow." Ash smiles. "I can't believe it. Two Bulbasaurs." Everyone took out their Pokédexs.
"Bulbasaur. It bears the plant of a seed on it back from birth, the seed slowly develops. Researchers are unsure whether to clarify Bulbasur as a plant or a animal. Bulbasaur are extremely tough and difficult to catch in the wild."
"Bulbasaur!" Bubasaur shouted, tackling Starmie.
"Oh!" Misty shouted as Misty caught Starmie. "Starmie, are you okay?"
"Now it's our turn to catch the two Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur is ours." Ash said, taking out a Pokéball. "Butterfree, I choose you!" Ash threw the Pokéball in the air and Butterfree appeared.
"Free!" Butterfree said.
"Go, Dratini!" Jovan shouted.
"Tini." Dratini said.
"Butterfree, Sleep Powder!" Ash commanded.
Butterfree started flapping his wings to release the blue shining powder over Bulbasaur, but it blows the powder back at Butterfree and Butterfree landed on the ground.
"Use Bubblebeam." Jovan ordered.
Bubbles appear in Dratini's face and went towards the other Bulbasaur who was protecting the Oddish. The other Bulbasaur pushes the Oddish out of the way to avoid the attack.
"Come on!" Ash shouted. "Hang in there, Butterfree!"
The tired Pokémon had a tough time to stay in the air from the ground and the Bulbasaur tackles Butterfree again as it was sent flying into the air.
"Oh…" Ash muttered. "No…"
Before Dratini can attack, Butterfree landed on top of her.
"Oh man…" Jovan muttered.
The Oddish and the two Bulbasaur went into the bushes.
"The Bulbasaurs…" Ash groans "It's not fair! Jovan and I wanted them!"
"Pika." Pikachu sighed.
They all came across a bridge. July went towards near the edge to see a raging river. July joins her friends as they were crossing a bridge.
"Ha ha!" Ash laughs. "I bet there are some Bulbasaur around this place."
"But where is this place?" Anna asked.
Brock took out a map. "I can't find the bridge on this map." Brock said.
Suddenly, a wind begins to shake the bridge. Then one of the ropes snapped and the bridge was turned to a one hundred eighty degree angle counter clockwise. Ash was hanging onto one of the ropes while Pikachu was hanging onto Ash's backpack and Misty was hanging onto Ash's foot. Jovan was hanging on one of the ropes that snapped with his left hand while his other hand was holding July. Dratini hung on to Jovan's backpack while Anna was hanging onto Jovan's waist. Brock and Seth was hanging onto the boards while Slade hung onto the rope. Slade notices that Brock and Seth were slipping from the board and fell.
"AAAHHHH!" Brock and Seth yelled as they fell into the river.
"They fell into the river!" Jovan shouted.
"You and Ash have to pull us back up!" Misty shouted. "It's our only way!"
"Pika pi!" Pikachu agreed.
"We can't!" Jovan yelled.
"Yes you can!" Anna yelled.
"Just pull us harder as you can!" July yelled.
They finally got to the other side and need to catch their breath.
"Phew…" Ash panted.
"I'm glad that's over…" Jovan panted, catching his breath. "I'm totally wiped out."
"We can't rest now." Misty said looking at Ash.
Anna looks at her friend at her right side. "We've gotta find Brock and Seth."
"Then let's go." July said.
A few minutes later…
They made their way down the cliff and started running.
"Hurry up." Slade said.
While they were running, Misty, July and Anna shouted. "Aahh!"
"Huh?" Ash asked confused, turning around.
Ash, Jovan and Slade sees Misty, July and Anna in a hole.
"How did you three get down there?" Slade asked.
"We fell in." Misty groaned. "How else?"
"What's a trap doing here?" Anna wondered.
"It seems pretty strange…" Jovan muttered, looking around.
"Just help us out quick." July pleaded.
Jovan and Dratini went over to the edge of the hole. "This is not our day." Jovan said.
"Brock!" Jovan called.
"Seth!" Ash called.
They've been walking for almost a half an hour.
"Hey, you guys!" Ash called again.
"You think they wash down this far stream?" Misty asked.
As they were walking not paying any attention, Misty triggers another trap. Jovan, July, Anna and Slade manage to get out of the way before a net caught Ash, Pikachu and Misty were brought up in the tree.
"Hey!" Ash yelled. "How did we get stuck up in a tree?!"
"It's another trap!" Anna called to her friends. "Do something!"
"What can they do?" Jovan asked.
"Try wiggling." Misty suggested. "Maybe the net will open."
Ash and Misty started wiggling the rope with no success.
"Oh." Ash complains. "This is dumb."
"If you have any ideas," Misty said sarcastically, "Let's hear them!"
"Pi." Pikachu shakes his head, trying to calm them. "Pika Pi."
"We'll try to find help!" Anna called.
"We'll be back!" Jovan shouted.
"Bulbasaur."
Ash looks over his shoulder to see the two Bulbasaur.
"Bulbasaur…" Ash said.
"Saur, saur." The first Bulbasaur smirking they both turn around and started walking.
"Hold it there, Bulbasaur!" Ash grunted, wiggling again. "I want a match!"
"Now you're wiggling too much!" Misty yelled, who received a kick in the face. "Ouch! You kicked me!"
"Bulbasaur!" Ash yelled.
"We'll catch the Bulbasaur." Jovan called.
July looks at Slade. "Can you find a way to get them down?" July asked.
"Yeah." Slade said.
"Let's go get those Bulbasaur." Anna said.
As Jovan turns around and took a couple of steps forward and they all fell down in a hole. From within the net, Ash, Pikachu and Misty sees July sitting next to Slade and Anna was on top of Jovan. Dratini was sitting on top of July's head.
"Bulba." The second Bulbasur chuckled as the two Bulbasaur left them.
Slade looks at Anna and Jovan. "So when's the wedding?" Slade joked.
"Slade." July face palmed.
Jovan and Anna blushed.
Somewhere in the mountains, Jessie and James took out their binoculars. "The secret village we're looking for is on the other side of this bridge."
"Let's just hope the rumors are true." James said.
"Te hee." Meowth chuckled. "Just wait what Team Rocket has planned for you, you delicious little village."
"Gee." Ash said. "I wonder what happen to Brock and Seth."
It was two hours since they were stuck in a tree.
"I wonder too." Misty said.
"Maybe the river carried them far away, all away to the ocean."Ash said. "Then Pirates spotted them and one of the pirates has a wooden leg."
"You have a crazy imagination." Misty said.
"Ka chu." Pikachu agreed.
"Then came a storm." Ash said.
Inside the hole, Jovan was trying to get out of the hole but no success.
"Still can't get out of this hole." Jovan complained.
"Maybe you can stand on Slade's shoulders to get out of here." Anna said.
"Let's give it a try." Slade said.
Slade puts his hands together and brought them down in front of his stomach. Jovan puts his hands on Slade's shoulders and put his right foot on Slade's hands. Slade brought his hands over his hands, giving Jovan a boost and grabbing the wall.
"Let's get climbing." Jovan said.
Jovan started climbing the wall to get out of the hole.
"Are you almost there?" Anna called.
"Almost there." Jovan grunted.
As soon as his left hand grabs the wall, the small rock gave way. Jovan quickly put his left hand on his right hand.
"At least I didn't fall." Jovan sighed with relief.
Snap!
Jovan looks up and notices the small rock he was holding on to also gave way.
"Uh oh." Jovan muttered.
Slade and July got out of the way as Jovan fell on top of Anna.
"No luck." Jovan said.
"The two of you make a cute couple." Slade said.
"Ahoy!"
Ash, Misty and Pikachu looks down and gasps.
It was Brock and Seth.
"Hey Brock and Seth." Ash smiled.
"Why are you hanging around in a tree?" Brock asked.
"Because we love trees." Misty said sarcastically.
"Where's Jovan, July, Anna and Slade?" Seth asked.
"We're down here!" Jovan called.
Seth walks over to the hole and sees his friends.
Brock took out a knife and started cutting the rope. As Brock was done cutting the rope, Ash, Misty and Pikachu fell out of the tree.
"Thanks." Misty thanked him. "But you could've let us down more gently."
"Yeah… er…" Brock smiled nervously, scratching his head. "Sorry about that."
"I'll use the rope to get the others." Seth said.
"Ok." Brock said.
Seth untied the rope from the net. He walks over to the edge of the hole and threw the other end of the rope down the hole.
A few minutes have passed as Jovan, Anna, July, Slade and Dratini were out of the hole.
"Thanks for getting us out there." July thanked Seth.
"We've been looking all over for you two." Misty said.
We saw the two of you fall into the river." Ash said. "So what happen?"
"Well," Brock said. "Seth and I were being washed away in the river."
Flashback
Brock was trying his best not let his head go in the water. Seth was doing the same thing.
As they were being washed away in the river, someone grab hold of their hands. Brock looks up sees a girl who rescued them.
"I got you two hold on." The girl said.
The girl was about to pull the two boys out of the water when Seth lost his grip.
"On no!" the girl gasps.
All of a sudden, another girl came out of the bushes, running along the river and grabs Seth from the back of the shirt. The girl pulled Seth out as Seth began to kick his legs to get out of the water. The second girl puts Seth's arm around her neck as they walk slowly back to Brock.
Brock on all fours trying to catch his breath. Seth was laying down on back with arms and legs spread, catching his breath as well.
Brock managed to catch his breath and looks up to the two girls who rescued them.
The first girl was wearing red overalls, a pink t shirt and a green bow that she was wearing in her long blue hair with an orange headband.
The second girl was wearing a black hoodie under a white shirt, a red skirt, black and white stripes socks, and black boots. She was also wearing a two small Cross's on her neck. Her hair was orange and the color of her eyes was purple.
Flashback Ends
"The two girls who saved us were incredibly beautiful." Brock said.
"Two beautiful girls, huh?" Ash wondered with his legs crossed and his arms over his chest. "That's even better than pirates. Unless they were really a pirate in disguise."
"Then maybe it's time to get a reality check." Misty said.
"We'll take to you back to their place." Seth said.
It didn't took them very long since they were so close. There was a wooden cabin that was right next to a small lake.
The girl who saved Brock got up and notice that Brock and Seth return with their friends.
"Melanie," Brock said. "This is Ash, Misty, Jovan, July, Anna and Slade."
"So you're Brock and Seth's friends." Melanie smiled. "Brock and Seth told my friend and I all about you."
"I've see you made it back." A voice said.
They all look at the entrance and notice it was the second girl who help saved Seth.
"Hey Seth." The girl said.
"Hello Storm." Seth said.
Storm Jazz is punk girl who loves music. She is the childhood friend of Seth. Seth and Storm met at a concert when they were five years old. Storm's dream is to be the world's greatest singer and form a band in the near future.
"These are some of my friends." Seth said.
"Nice to meet you all." Storm said.
"Wow," Misty gasps. "Look at that."
There was some several wild Pokémon eating their food.
"Does the Pokémon all belong to you?" Misty asked.
"Oh no." Melanie said.
Brock went up to a Paras and knelt down to pet it. "This is a place for Pokémon to rest and relaxed."
"Like a summer camp?" Ash asked.
"Sort of." Seth said. "You see, when Pokémon are abandoned and injured, they can come here. Melanie takes care of them until they feel better, then they leave."
"So this is like a Pokémon Center and Melanie is the doctor." Misty said.
"Oh no."Melanie shook her head. "I'm not qualified to be a doctor."
"Same here." Storm said. "I want to be a famous singer and form a band in the near future."
"Brock got up. "This is more like a Pokémon Health Spa."
"Here, the Pokémon don't battle with one another." Melanie explains. "They relax and try to enjoy themselves till they recover."
"Sweet." Anna said.
Brock walks over to his friends. "Melanie collects plants for medicine. She knows all plants which feel better or stronger when its too weak."
"So you and Melanie both love to take care of Pokémon." Ash said.
"We do." Brock said, looking at Melanie.
"Well." Misty said. "Looks to me that there's something else Brock might love."
Brock's face turned red and put his hand over her mouth. "Be quite." Brock whispered. "She might hear you."
"How did Storm get here?"Jovan asked.
"I was kind of practicing in my garage when I was sucked into a portal that led me here." Storm explained.
"I wonder who put that net up there in the tree." Ash said.
"Or who dug a hole right next to it." Jovan said.
"Probably the same person who dug that hole I fell into." Misty said.
"I'm sorry." Melanie apologized.
Ash and Misty looks at her.
"I was the one who set those traps." Melanie explained. "I wanted to catch Pokémon Trainers before they reach the village. Since you got caught I guess they really work."
"And I was the one who dug that hole." Storm said.
"How come?" Anna asked.
Melanie looks at the Pokémon. "There are so many injured Pokémon here, I had to protect them."
"So the bridge was a trap too." Ash said.
"Yes." Melanie said.
"Across this bridge is a lifetime size of Pokémon waiting on the other side." Jesse said.
Team Rocket was slowly making their way on the bridge.
"How are going to carry them all?" James asked.
"Don't worry." Meowth said.
"We'll figure something out on the other side." Justin said.
But the rope snap, making Team Rocket to scream and they hit the wall of the cliff. Then they fell into the river.
They were all behind the cabin.
"Seth and I promised Melanie not to capture any Pokémon here." Brock said.
"And did you seal the promise with a kiss?" Misty asked.
Brock blushed again and punches Misty in the head.
"Ow!" Misty grunted. "So that must mean you really do love her."
Brock punches Misty in the head again.
"Ow." Misty said in pain, rubbing her head.
"Well," Ash said with his arms crossed. "I guess we'll keep that promise."
"Only bad guys capture sick Pokémon." Misty said.
"But are those traps tough enough to keep robbers away?" Jovan asked.
"You have to be pretty stupid to fall in those holes." Ash said.
Jovan, Anna, July, Slade and Misty looks at Ash.
"Hey!" they all said, angrily.
"AAHH!" Jessie, James and Meowth yelled.
Sam, Libby and Justin can see the trio in a hole.
"This is the third hole we've fallen into." Jessie growled. "How nobody falls into our traps while we fell in to theirs?!"
"Well this one is cleverly hidden." James said.
"I'm glad that you're enjoying it." Jessie growled.
Jessie, James and Meowth manage to get out of the hole and resume searching for the hidden village with their friends.
After a few minutes of walking, Jessie, James and Meowth were caught in a net, hanging in a tree.
"Stop pulling my tail!"Meowth shouted.
"Today is not our day." Sam sighed.
Brock scoops the water in a bucket that was attached to a handle and pour the water on Staryu.
"Ha!" Staryu said, shaking the water.
"Do you feel any better yet Staryu?" Ash asked.
Misty and Anna was with the same Oddish that they met in the forest.
"Sorry about what happened in the forest." Misty said.
"Oddish." Oddish said.
"I shouldn't have surprise you like that." Misty said.
"You must've been scared." Misty said.
"Oddish." Oddish said sadly.
"Melanie told me that your trainer got rid of you." Misty said. "Is it really true that you were too weak? You know, some trainers can be insensitive. But not all of us are all like that."
Misty giggles and pat Oddish. "You just need to find a trainer who understands you. Anyway, I'm sorry for what I did, and I hope we can become friends."
"Oddish." Oddish said noticing Misty was crying. Oddish uses one of the leaves on its head to wipe away her tears. "Oddidh, Oddish."
"You're sweet Oddish." Misty said. "I am sorry. All I think about lately is winning. I hope I'm not being heartless."
"You are always heartless." Ash said, walking up to them.
"Mind your business!" Misty growled, standing up to him.
Anna and Jovan walks up to them.
"You really should mind your own business, Ash." Anna said.
"Bulbasaur!" Bulbasaur shouted.
The first Bulbasaur slams into Misty, making her fall forward while the second Bulbasaur tries to slam into Anna but Jovan manage to got between the second Bulbasaur and Anna, pushing back the second Bulbasur.
"Hey." Misty said angrily, looking up at the first Bulbasur. "That's rude to tackle people."
"She's right." Ash said.
The second Bulbasur ran towards the first Bulbasaur's side as the first Bulbasaur getting ready to fight.
"I know." Ash said, realizing. "You're just mad because I was going to beat you and you chicken out and ran off."
"That must be it." Misty said.
"Then let's see how tough you really are." Ash growled as he was about to take out a Pokéball.
"I don't like anyone who tries to tackle Anna." Jovan said angrily, taking out Pokéball.
"Wait!" Storm shouted as she and Melanie got between them.
"The two Bulbasaur is only trying to protect Oddish." Melanie explains. "These two Bulbasur volunteered to guard our whole village."
"What?" Jovan and Anna asked confused.
"They protects all the injured Pokémon whenever enemies try to attack them."
"That explains why they left with Oddish when we met them in the forest." Jovan said.
"The two Bulbasaur are brave and loyal Pokémon Melanie knows." Storm explains.
"The two Bulbasur thought I was trying to take Oddish from the village."Misty said.
"Bulbasaur." The first Bulbasaur said, trying to push Ash as the second Bulbasaur was doing the same thing to Jovan.
"Now what?" Ash asked looking down at the first Bulbasur.
"The two Bulbasaur doesn't like Pokémon Trainers." Storm said. "They want you to leave the Village now."
"Bulbasaur listen," Anna said. "We don't want to capture the Pokémon here. We want to help you."
The second Bulbasaur turns and look up at Storm.
"It's the truth." Storm said. "They are our friends, not enemies."
The second Bulbasaur looks back at the first Bulbasaur who still trying to get rid of Ash.
"The two Bulbasaur was worried about the other Pokemon, so they decided to be the village bodyguards." Ash said. "Now that's what I call bravery."
"That would be nice to have a Pokémon like that." Jovan said.
Meanwhile a giant stadium was floating in the air. It was tied up to four Balloons.
"To protect the world from devastation."
"To unite all people within our nation."
"To denounce the evils of truth and love. To extend our reach from the stars above."
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light."
"Surrender now or prepare to fight."
"Meowth!"
"Now that you've said your lines, let's get those Pokémon."Libby said.
"Those village idiots thought their measly traps would stop us." James said.
"They think they have the advantage now." Sam smirked.
Libby looks at Sam. "Not anymore." Libby said. "We have the advantage now."
"I congratulate James for this brilliant scheme." Sam said.
"Don't forget I suggested tying giant balloons on the stadium roof." Meowth said.
The stadium was now hovering above the village as it descend from the air.
"Whoa!" Jovan exclaimed.
The stadium landed in the forest.
"Here we go again." Ash groaned.
"Today only at the Jessie stadium." Jessie announced. "It's the Team Rocket Pokémon Challenge."
"It was James idea, Jessie." Libby reminded her.
"Ha ha." Jessie chuckled nervously.
The stadium's front door open and a long hose come out of the door and began to suck everything up.
"All Pokémon are invited to enter the stadidum." Jessie said.
"Step right up." James said.
"Yeah." Justin said.
"We're not hosing you." Meowth smirked.
"But we are." Sam added.
"Hyah!" Staryu shouted. Ash ran to Staryu and holds it down so it won't go flying.
"Don't they ever run out of ideas?" Jovan grumbled.
"Hurry!" Slade shouted, holding the door open with Brock.
"Everybody in the cabin!" Seth shouted.
Melanie ran inside with Weepinbell. Misty tried to catch Oddish but missed.
"Wait!" Misty shouted, watching Oddidsh flying towards the stadium. "No! Oddish!"
Before Oddish can go inside the hose, two vines managed to catch Oddish. Oddish notices that Bulbasaur saved it.
"Bubasaur." The first Bulbasaur smiled.
"Bulbasaur!" Misty smiled.
"Take Staryu." Ash said, quickly handing Staryu. Ash quickly made his way to the first Bulbasaur.
"Keep going, Bulbasaur!" Ash yelled, pushing Bulbasaur.
Ash, Bulbasaur and Oddish made it to the cabin.
"Where's the second Bulbasaur?!" Jovan shouted.
"There!" Anna pointed.
Jovan notices that the second Bulbasuar was close almost close to the hose.
"Hang on!" Jovan shouted running towards it.
"Wait!" Anna yelled, but Storm grabs her by the arm.
"We have to get inside!" Storm said. "Jovan can take care of himself!"
Misty closes the door.
"I'm coming Bulbasaur!" Jovan shouted.
Jovan leaps into the air and lets the wind carry him to where Bulbasaur was.
"Pidgeotto, let's go!" Jovan threw a Pokéball in the air and Pidgeotto appeared.
"Pidgeotto, try to destroy that hose!" Jovan ordered and Pidgeotto flew to destroy the hose.
Jovan can see he's almost there where the second Bulbasaur is.
"Gotcha!" Jovan shouted as he grabbed the second Bulbasaur.
But when Jovan caught the second Bulbasaur, the second Bubasaur notices that they were almost close to the hose.
"Bulba!" the second Bulbasaur shouted.
"Oh no!" Jovan gasps.
Jovan remembers that he got something with him. He took out a survival knife.
"My grandfather's survival knife." Jovan thought.
Flashback
Jovan was sitting in a chair next to his grandfather's sickbed.
"Jovan…" his grandfather said weakly.
"Yes Grandfather?"Jovan asked.
"Before my time is up…" Jovan's grandfather said, pulling out a case.
"Is that…?" Jovan gasps.
"Yes…" the old man said.
Jovan's grandfather hands it to Jovan and Jovan pulled the object out of the case.
"Your survival knife." Jovan said.
"This knife has been in … our family for… generations…" his grandfather said, coughing. "It is yours now."
"Grandfather…" Jovan muttered, beginning to cry.
"Promise me you use it when you're in danger…" the grandfather said weakly.
"I… I…" Jovan stuttered. "I promised."
"Good…" His grandfather said weakly. "… You and Anna… makes… a good… couple…"
And with that, Jovan's grandfather closes his eyes… for good.
Flashback Ends
Jovan quickly takes the survival knife out of its case and stabs it in the ground while the second Bulbasaur was in his left arm. He slowly begins to make his way back to the cabin and went behind the cabin.
"Those rotten little pests." Libby growled.
"Those two are always ruining our plans." Jessie said.
"Not this time." James said.
"They've gathered all of them in one place for us." Sam chuckled.
"Our super vacuum will suck them up."Meowth cheered.
The hose began to suck very quickly.
"Let's go, team!" Jessie, James and Meowth cheered. "To steal'em is our dream! Let's go Rocket! Put Pokémon in our Pocket!"
Jovan poked his head out. "Can those three get any weirder?" Jovan wondered.
While Jovan was distracted, the second Bulbasaur notices a branch was coming towards Jovan.
"Bulba!" the second Bulbasaur shouted, but it was too late.
The branch hits Jovan in the back of the head and his face hits the side of the cabin, going unconscious. The second Bulbsaur looks up and see the first Bulbasaur appearing on the roof.
"Bulbasaur!" Bulbasaur shouted as two dark green vines came out on either side of the bulb and hits hose two times.
Ash ran outside and threw a Pokéball in the air. "Pidgeotto, I choose you!"
Ash's Pidgeotto appeared.
"Pidgeotto, Gust Attack!" Ash ordered.
Ash's Pidgeotto started flapping his wings fast as Jovan's Pidgeotto joined in as well. The two gusts and the hose created a massive hurricane.
"Where's Jovan?!" Anna shouted, coming out of the cabin with July.
Ash can see Jovan's body going to the tornado. "I see him!" Ash yelled. "He's going to get himself hurt!"
"JOVAN!" Anna and July screamed as they watch the boy going into the tornado.
" And the tornado's is winding up." James said, trying to pitch.
"But will it strike us out?" Libby asked nervously.
"There goes the whole ballgame." Meowth groaned.
The tornado headed towards Team Rocket's stadium, sucking them all in.
"AAAHH!" they all yelled.
"The home team got blown away!" James shouted.
"So what are we gonna do now?" Justin shouted.
"Challenge them to wind surfing?!" Jessie yelled.
"Look at that!" Libby pointed down below.
Several feet below them were Jovan. Jovan opens his eyes.
"RROOAARR!" Jovan roared.
His body began to glow. A pair of long antennae sprout out of his head as his black hair disappeared and a small horn appeared. Jovan's arms and legs became thick ending in three claws each. Jovan felt his legs becoming well defined and his arms becoming smooth. Jovan felt his nose becoming a round snout with small nostrils.
"What the…?!" James shouted.
Two small teal wings with membranes appeared on Jovan's back. Jovan opens his blue eyes to look at his body and gasps at his body. His skin was light black. As the light disappeared, Jovan looked up to see Team Rocket with an angry look on his face.
"This can't be good!" Justin yelled.
Jovan flew upward quickly pasting Team Rocket and out of the Tornado.
"What's going on?" July asked confused.
"That must be a Dragonite." Brock said. "I thought Dragonite was supposed to have a light orange skin, not Black skin."
"That is Jovan." a voice said.
Landing in front of them was the mysterious hooded figure and Vaporeon.
"What do you mean "that's Jovan"?" Anna asked.
Jovan's eyes glow white and a white ball forms in front of Jovan's mouth. The ball turns into a beam and fires it at the stadium.
"That's…" Ash gasps.
"Hyper Beam." The mysterious hooded figure said.
Everyone steps out to see the tornado leaving with Team Rocket.
"Look's like Team Rocket is blasting off again!" Meowth's voice echoed as they disappeared.
"Is everyone okay?" Melanie asked.
"I just had the wind knocked out of me." Ash said.
July notice that her brother landed in front of them, exhausted from the attack as Jovan took a knee.
"Jovan!" July yelled running up to her brother.
Jovan turns back to human again. "What happen…?" Jovan asked dazed.
July puts his arm around her neck for support.
"You've transformed into a Black Dragonite." The hooded figure said.
"But how?" Storm asked.
"Anna's feelings must've help Jovan to wake his power." The hooded figure said. "But for now, we'll save that for later." Then the hooded figure and Vaporeon disappeared.
"How are you feeling?" Storm asks, looking at Jovan.
"A little tired." Jovan answered. "But I'll be okay."
"Bulbasaur." The first Bulbasaur smiled.
The second Bulbasaur nodded.
"The village is well protected with the two Bulbasaur here." Ash said with his arms crossed.
"I think that the two Bulasaur will make an excellent addition to your team, Jovan and Ash." Storm said.
"Would they ever." Ash smiled.
"I think these two should go with you two." Melanie said.
"Huh?" Ash asked confused.
The first Bulbasaur walks up to Melanie and Melanie picks him up.
"These two has stayed here to protect the weaker Pokémon." Storm said.
"But the village is too small." Melanie added. "The bulb on their backs can't grow. They need to go out into the world now. And I know that the two of you will take good care of it. Please do me this favor. Take the two Bulbasaur with you on your journey.
"They'll be a good companion." Storm said.
"So what's going to happen to the village without them?" Anna asked.
"Who's going to protect you?" Brock asked.
"It's true that they did a great job." Melanie said. "Maybe too a great job. As you see, these Pokémon shouldn't remain in this village forever and ever. After they recover, the Pokémon are supposed to leave. But it's too safe here, so none of them wants to go away. They don't want to return to the outside world."
"Oddish." Oddish nodded.
"But I think it's important that all of them should return to the wild." Melanie continued. "That's where Pokémon belong. And hopefully, someday, they'll find good trainers like you. Of course, taking care of sick Pokémon will always be my mission but I know my job is not finished until they return where they came from, so it's the day a Pokémon leaves that is most rewarding to me."
"Melanie, I…" Brock tried to say.
"As you see," Storm said, "It's time for the two Bulbasaur to leave here."
"Please take them with you." Melanie said. "I promise it won't be a burden."
"The two Bulbasaur still has a lot of growing to do." Storm said. "Melanie wants them in a place where she'll be sure that the two Bulbasaur can grow strong and happy."
"I'm sure that is with you two, Ash and Jovan." Melanie said.
"If you want us too." Ash said.
"It will be an honor." Jovan said.
"Bulbasaur." Bulbasaur said, getting Melanie to look at him. Melanie giggles.
"Bulba." The second Bulbasaur walks up and looks at Jovan.
"What did Bulbasaur say?" Ash asked.
"They'll join you on one condition." Storm said. "They want to battle you two in a Pokémon match."
"Right, Bulbasaur?" Melanie asked.
"Bulbasaur." The first Bulbasaur answered.
"Ha!" Ash smirked, making a fist. "If you want a match, you'll get it."
"Let's do it then." Jovan said.
"Oh please let me battle with Bulbasaur." Misty pleaded. "Please? Pretty please?"
"No way." Ash answered.
Pikachu and Dratini stood on the left side of the field as the two Bulbasaur stood on the other side of the field.
"Pika." Pikachu said.
"Bulbasaur." The first Bulbasaur said.
"Tini." Dratini said.
"Pikachu, go!" Ash ordered.
"Attack, Dratini!" Jovan shouted.
Pikachu ran towards the first Bulbasaur as Bulbasaur extended his vines and tried to hit Pikachu. Dratini doges the other Bulbasaur's Tackle and counter it with Bubblebeam.
"Pika!" Pikachu yelled after Bulbasaur sent Pikachu flying.
"Bubblebeam!" Jovan shouted.
Small bubbles appeared in front of Dratini and was shot towards the other Bulbasaur.
"Bulba!" the other Bulbasaur shouted in pain. The other Bulbasaur tackles Dratini.
"Bulba!" the first Bulbasaur shouted, tackling Pikachu.
Pikachu was sent flying into the air and landed on his feet, just in time to tackle back at the first Bulbasaur and the first Bulbasaur was rolling on the ground.
"Bulba." Bulbasaur growled.
Two dark green vines came out on either side of the Bulb and the vines wrapped Pikachu. The vines lifted Pikachu in the air and begins to slam Pikachu into the ground.
"The Vine Whip is Bulbasaur's special move." Misty gasps.
"Pikachu, Thunderbolt!" Ash commanded.
A powerful bolt of electricity was released out of Pikachu's body, into the vines as two cords to shock the first Bulbasaur.
"Bulbasaur!" it shouted as the first Bulbasaur fell on his side.
"All right, Pokéball, go!" Ash shouted as he threw the Pokéball.
The sphere made contact with the first Bulbasaur and he transformed into red energy. It began to shake a few seconds and it stops.
"Dratini, use Quick Attack!"Jovan ordered.
Dratini disappears and reappears to tackle the other Bulbasaur. Jovan notices that the other Bulbasaur was getting tired.
"Go, Pokéball!" Jovan shouted as he threw the Pokéball at the other Bulbasaur and the other Bulbasaur was transformed into red energy.
Jovan watches the sphere shakes a few times before it stopped.
"We did it!" Ash cheered. "We've caught Bulbasaur!"
"Pika." Pikachu did a peace sign.
"I'll miss you two." Melanie said.
"Have a safe trip." Melanie said.
They were all standing right outside the cabin.
"We promise to take good care of them." Jovan said.
Melanie knelt down to pet the two Bulbasaur.
"Thank you for watching over us." Melanie smiled.
"Bulba." Ash's Bulbasaur said.
"So what are you going to name your Bulbasaur?" Anna asks Jovan.
"I'll name him Bulb." Jovan said.
"Nice." Slade said.
"Melanie." Brock blushed. "I've been thinking…."
"Yes?" Melanie asked, standing up.
"Since Bulbasaur and Bulb are leaving, I was wondering if I could help you out." Brock said.
"That's kind of you." Melanie said. "But we'll be ok. I wouldn't want to keep you from you're adventures."
"Oh yeah." Brock said. "I guess you're right."
"Will you be alright when I'm not here, Melanie?" Storm asked.
"I'll be fine." Melanie said.
"You're leaving?" Seth asked, looking at her.
"Tomorrow." Storm said. "I'm leaving tomorrow to look for a few band members."
"Nice." Seth said.
They all turn around and started walking.
"Good bye!" Ash called, turning around and waving.
"Goodbye!" Melanie waved back. "Good luck!"
"Oddish!" Oddish waved.
"See ya soon!" Storm waved.
"Bulbasaur!" Bulbasaur called.
"Don't worry, Bulbasaur." Ash said, looking down at Bulbasaur. "We'll see them again. When the Pokémon feel better, they'll leave this village too."
"Bulba." Bulbasaur said.
"Take good care of each other!" Melanie called. "Bye!"
Brock turned his head around and sighed.
"So." Misty said, startling Brock as they all stop. "What did Melanie say when you said you love her? Did you kiss her goodbye?"
"Ok, that's enough stupid questions." Brock said, putting his hand over Misty's mouth. "Would you please stop embarrassing me already? Ok, so she's cute, I understand that…"
"Did I miss something?" Ash asked, putting his hands behind the back of his head. "What's going on?"
"Bulba." Bulbasaur said.
Jovan looks down at Bulb. "I'm really glad that you're coming with us." Jovan smiled.
"I'm glad too, Jovan." A voice spoke.
"Huh?" Jovan asked confused.
"What is it, Jovan?" July asked, looking at her brother.
"I thought I heard a voice." Jovan said.
"The only voices we hear are Brock and Misty." July said.
"Ok then." Jovan said.
With Bulbasaur and Bulb by their side, looks like Ash is building his own dream team as Jovan is building his team. Now it's on to Vermillion City, let's just hope our heroes don't take any more detours or they'll never make it. But the question is, whose voice did Jovan hear and why did Jovan transformed into a black Dragonite?
