Hello again! It's been a month, and here's an update, as promised.
First, some good news - we got a new puppy! Here's my puppy tax: /a/1KMkNMA He's so cute I can't stand it. His name is Chance and he's so sweet. In related news - puppies are a lot of work.
End result - between spending time with my kid and my new puppy, I have gotten nearly no writing done at all. As I'd speculated in my last update, I don't think I'll get almost any writing done till my kid goes back to school. But it'll probably be slow going until little Chance is house trained.
I'm looking forward to resuming writing… I do really enjoy it (as should be obvious, since I knocked out like 300,000 words in 6 months - that's enough to hit Nanowrimo every single month for half a year!) Not writing at all kinda sucks.
Spending time with my family and puppy doesn't suck, though, so really I have no room to complain. Still. I'll give another update in another month, and while I highly doubt I'll have the buffer count I want, I will be extremely disappointed in myself if I'm not at least most of the way there.

Hello everyone! This is an update, not a chapter, as is probably already obvious! ?
So, I made a few misjudgments on timing.
One, I managed to not think about the obvious consequence of having a several week trip of visiting with my mom. The obvious consequence, of course, of doing absolutely no writing whatsoever during that time.
Two, I failed to realize how much fun I would have writing Sans' backstory chunks in ways that are totally disconnected from the current plot. This freeform writing thing has resulted in writing stuff for The Last Timeline, but while I have thousands more words to share, they're not actually ready for sharing yet. (Which is a shame, because I really want to share certain things - I'm super happy with how the scene came out where Sans first started working for Gaster, but noooo, I can't share that for a while. I'm gonna make him tell Frisk soon if I have to smack him upside the head *grumble grumble at uncooperative characters*.)
Three, with my kid being off school, a huge chunk of my free time has been spent with my kid, as opposed to holed up with my laptop.
All of these things really ought to have been predicted in advance. The end result is that I'm nowhere near being actually at the point of posting stuff again. I'm also realizing that I'm not sure I'll be able to resume regular posting until my kid goes back to school because I don't wanna be the kind of mom who abandons her kid to write something that's halfway smut. That seems… questionable.
So I'll make another update in a month (I'll keep closer track of the timing, because I missed it this time), but my current prediction is that I'll be ready to post stuff come sometime in September. Maybe October. Again, I do really want to have an actual, solid buffer of like 5+ chapters. And I maybe have… uh… none currently. *coughs* Though I have several chunks that will be integrated into chapters, so a week or so per chapter might work. If I finish one chapter per week, I'll have a big enough buffer by early September. We'll see.
Also thank you for everyone who's commented! I've not been replying due to spending time with my mom (she's here for several more days), but I really, hugely appreciate it! Thank you all for reading and for the kind words.
TLDR: I misjudged my life's schedule stuff horribly, I'll definitely post an update in a month, and will probably be up to resuming posting the chapters by sometime in September.
