The Kangaskhan Kid
After crossing the grassland, our heroes find themselves in the Safari Zone, where wild Pokémon roam free, just waiting to be captured.
It was a beautiful day as everyone was walking through the jungle forest. Jovan notices a couple of Mankey hopping branch to branch as a Venomoth was passing by them. There is a lot of Pokémon in the forest.
"Wow." Ash said amazed. "This place is like a dream Pokémon wherever you look. This must be the Safari Zone. Let's start catching them."
"Hang on Ash." Anna said, turning her head to the right to look at him.
"We might still be in the Pokémon Reserve." Brock said.
"This has to be the Safari Zone." Ash said to his friends. "Just take a look at all these Pokémon."
Something rustles in the bush in front of them and a Chansey's head poke out.
"It's Chansey!" Ash smiled as he takes out a Poké Ball.
"Chansey is rare to find in the wild." Seth said.
"Even finding Dratini, Growlithe and Eevee when you come from a different world." Jovan said.
"A different world?" Misty asks him with a confused look.
"Don't mind him." Anna chuckled nervously as she gave Jovan a slap behind the head.
"Drop that Poké Ball!" Jenny shouted as she stands up with a gun pointed at them all. "My name is Jenny, Safari Ranger. You're all under arrest for Pokémon Poaching."
"Under arrest?" Ash asked confused.
Half an hour later, they were all at Jenny's tent. Jenny pulls out some extra chairs as Seth and his friends sits down. There was some equipment in the tent, including a map that was standing behind Jenny.
"This is a National Pokémon Preservation Area." Jenny said, pointing at the map behind her as she explains. "It's here for raising and protecting the Pokémon here."
"I'm really sorry." Ash apologized. "I didn't know that."
Jenny crosses her arms over her chest. "Well, you look like you really didn't know so I'm going to let you with a warning this time." Jenny smiled.
"Thank you." Ash smiled.
"That's kind of you, Ranger Jenny." Brock smiled.
"I'm just glad that we didn't get arrested." Anna said.
Then a sound went off. A red dot appeared on the map, causing Jenny to turn around. "Another poacher!" Jenny gasps. She quickly ran past them to get out side and hop on her jeep.
Ash and his friends ran outside too. "Let us help too, Jenny." Ash said. "We want to make up for what happened before."
"Thanks." Jenny thanks them. "Get on in."
Ash, Brock, Misty and Pikachu climbs onto Jenny's jeep.
"Go, Arcanine!" Jovan shouted, throwing his Poké Ball and Arcanine appeared.
"Come on out, Rose!" Anna shouted as she throws her Poké Ball and Rose appears too.
Seth and Slade got on Arcanine's back as Anna hops onto Rose. July get's on Dragonair and Jovan transforms into the Black Dragonite. Jenny steps on the gas and the Jeep accelerated.
Outside of the forest was a field. In the middle of the field is a large bipedal Pokémon. It has a brown hide with several raised patches and a cream-colored belly. It has large, cream-colored ears, narrow, red eyes, and a short, rounded snout with two fangs in the back of its upper jaw. On top of its head is a thick, black plate. There are -like growths over its shoulders and a row of spikes down its back. It has three clawed digits on each hand and foot and a thick tail. On is belly is a pouch that contains a baby. Unlike its parent, the baby is light purple and has smooth skin.
Meowth was looking through the binoculars several feet away from the Pokémon. "Kangaskhan and Baby Kangaskhan is in sight." Meowth said, pulling his head away. He looks over his shoulder. "Are you guys ready?"
"To protect the world from devastation."
"To unite all people within out nation."
"To denounce the evil of truth and love."
"To extend our reach to the stars above."
"Jesse."
"James."
"You guys really have to focus right now." Justin said with a annoyed look on his face.
"Be quiet." Jessie growls at him.
"We know what to do, you two." James said.
Jessie and James kneeled down and takes out a bazooka.
"We're trying to catch them, not blowing them up to Kingdom come!" Justin yelled nervously.
Everyone arrived at the field and takes out their Poké Dex.
"Kangaskhan, a Parent Pokémon. Once approaching extinction, they are now protected by law and inhabit the . Approach with extreme caution. The Kangaskhan is a rare Pokémon which raises its children in its pocket. They will attack viciously and without warning if they feel their young are threatened in any way."
"And they're all girls?" Jovan asked confused.
"I believe so." Anna replied.
But all of a sudden, something explode loudly in the sky, high above the Kangaskhan.
"What's going on?!" July shouted.
"Nite!" Jovan growled, pointing a claw.
July looks where he was pointing and sees Team Rocket and Team Neo. "It's Team Rocket and Team Neo!" July growled angrily. "Lets stop them!"
"July, you and your brother have to get down here!" Seth called.
"We're running away from the Kangaskhan!" Slade shouted above.
Jenny put the gear in reverse and steps on the pedal hard, making the Jeep going backwards.
Arcanine and Rose ran close to the Jeep.
"They're still headed for us!" Anna shouted, looking over her shoulder.
"What's the plan, Jenny?!" Seth shouted.
"Go the left, Seth!" Jenny shouted.
Seth nodded his head and Arcanine went to the left, followed by Jenny and Rose.
"That's it." James smiles evilly as he takes out a remote control. "Charge right into our trap!" He presses the button.
Several rockets shoots up from the ground with a net, causing the Kangaskhan to stop. The net fall on the Kangaskhan and captured them all. Team Rocket and Team Neo pulls up to the captured Pokémon in a red jeep.
"So much for the might Kangaskhan." Libby said, walking up to Team Rocket with Sam.
"Which one should I go for?" Sam asked, looking at the Kangaskhan.
"That one in front of you." Justin said.
"We can't let Team Rocket and Team Neo get away with this." Ash said.
"Pika." Pikachu said worried.
"Let's get moving, Jenny." Anna said to her.
"It's no good." Jenny said. "I overheated the engine on the last stunt that I pulled."
The hood pops open with steam coming out.
"I claim this Pokémon for Team Rocket!" Jessie yelled, throwing a Poké Ball at the net. But the Poké Ball was knocked back by a boomerang and the Poké Ball slams into Jessie's forehead. "Ow!" Jesssie yelled in pain before she growled. "Who did that?! Who's out there?!"
"Kangaskhan!" a voice shouted.
"What's that sound?" Meowth wondered.
A little boy was swinging towards them on a vine. He was not wearing any shoes except cheetah clothing and was holding a boomerang. The boy has blue spiky hair and black eyes.
"Kangask!" He shouted as lands and runs toward the captured Kangaskhan. He cuts the net to make an opening. "Kangask Kang!" he told the captured Kangaskhan.
All of the Kangaskhan began to escape.
"What is that little jungle boy think he's doing?" Libby growled.
"We're the ones who captured them!" James shouted.
The little boy jumps high on branch in the tree. "Kang Kangaskhan!" The boy called to the Kangaskhan.
"Kang!" The Kangaskhan growls, turning their attention to the right at Team Rocket and Team Neo.
"I don't like that look they're giving us." Libby said, nervously.
"Then stop yapping and let's get out of here!" Justin shouted at them.
Jessie, James, Libby, Sam and Justin quickly hops in the jeep.
"Kangaskhan!" the boy ordered.
All of the Kangaskhan surrounded them. The first Kangaskhan attacks and slams her tail at the jeep, sending them flying.
"Aahh!" Team Rocket yelled.
A second Kangaskhan attacks and slams her tail against the jeep high into the air.
"Aaahh!" Team Neo screamed.
Everyone watches as the Kangaskhan continues to attack Team Rocket and Team Neo. A giant Kangaskhan holds her arms out in a 'T' formation, spins around, and hits the jeep, sending Team Rocket and Team Neo flying away in the sky.
"Looks like Team Rocket is blasting off again!" the villains screamed before they disappeared.
"Kanga Gaskhan!" the boy shouted.
"Kangaskhan!" the heard shouted.
The boy jumps off from the branch and landed in the giant Kangaskhan's pouch. "Kanga Kangaskhan!" the boy shouted, pointing his boomerang.
Everyone watches in amazement as the Kangaskhan begins to leave.
"That was amazing what the kid did by commanding all those Kangaskhan by yelling." Ash said.
"He's good." Brock said. "He's only kid, but can grow up into a Pokémon Trainer."
"I hear something." Jenny said. "Huh?" She looks up and sees a white helicopter beginning to land in front of them.
"What's going on now?" Anna wondered.
The helicopter's engine stops and two people came out. The man was shorter than the woman. He was wearing a fancy black and white uniform with brown boots, a walking stick and a safari hat. He has a short black bushy mustache.
The woman was wearing a yellow T-shirt, kaki shorts, brown boots and was wearing the same hat as the man. She has brown hair and black eyes.
"Greetings." the man greeted them. "Sorry for the noise. Are you the Safari Zone Pokémon Ranger?"
"Yes." Jenny answered.
"Let me introduce myself." the man said. "I'm Tommy's Father and I came here because someone has seen my son Tommy in this area."
"Your son Tommy is in the Safari Zone?" Jenny asks him.
"Papa, I think we should tell them a little more about Tommy." his wife said, making him to look at her.
"Yes, you're right." Papa said before looking back at them. "Forgive me."
"Okay." Jenny nodded. "You can explain the rest back at the station."
"A splendid idea." Papa said.
It took ten minuets to head back to station. Everyone was sitting down except for Jovan, July, Anna, Seth, Slade and Dragonair. Jovan and Seth was sitting down in a couple of chairs as July was leaning back against her brother legs. Anna and Slade were leaning against the window while Dragonair was sitting next to Jovan.
"It happened five years ago." Mama explains. "Tommy was only three years old when we decided to take a family trip around the world."
"That's correct." Papa said.
Flashback
The helicopter was flying high above the jungle. Papa was holding his son while his wife was flying the helicopter. "See Tommy?" Papa asks him. "Look at all the Pokémon down there. Here, take a look." Papa sticks Tommy out the window.
"Papa!" Mama yells at Papa, terrified. "Be careful!"
Papa looks over his shoulder. "Don't worry, my dear." Papa said. "Tommy is having lots of fun." But he lost his grip and Tommy was falling to the jungle.
"Tommy!" Mama screams as she saw her son fall.
"Don't worry about him, Mama." Papa said. "He just wants to take a closer look. What a smart boy our Tommy is."
A red parachute came out of Tommy's backpack and disappeared into the jungle. Tommy's parents landed the helicopter and began to look for their son. They found their son's parachute, but Tommy was nowhere in sight.
"There's nothing but a parachute left." Mama said, worried about her son.
"Maybe if you were holding him, this wouldn't have happened." Papa said.
"It's your fault!" she screams at him angrily.
Flashback Ends
"Ever since that day, we've search high and low but we can't find him anywhere." Papa said.
"Heh heh." Seth chuckled lightly.
Jovan looks at him. "What are you chuckling about?" Jovan asks him.
"This reminds me when you and Anna were looking for the lost kid, Zelda." Seth answers.
"I remember that." Jovan said. "Anna and I found Zelda near the bulls sleeping in the field."
"Once you got there, the bulls started chasing you, Anna and Zelda all over the field." Seth said.
"I wonder why though." Jovan said.
"I think I know why." July answered.
"What, July?"
"You brought the red rag with you when you went to find Zelda." July answered. "That's why."
"Jovan!" Anna growled angrily.
"It's just like Papa said." Mama said sadly. "We looked hard as we could, but we couldn't find him anywhere. Then someone sent a picture of a young boy who leads a huge pack of Kangaskhan here in the Safari Zone."
"I always knew that this day would come." Papa said. Somebody was bound to find our son somewhere."
"I know it's a bother, but would you consider helping us in our search?" Mama asks Jenny. "We'll do anything. Here is the picture." She takes out the picture. In the picture was Tommy and Kangaskhan. "If Tommy is still alive, he would just about be this age." Mama hands this picture over to Jenny.
"Oh." Jenny said as she recognized Tommy. "You mean Tomo. You won't have to look far." She looks up at them and pulls out clipboard with Tommy's information. "His address is listed in the Safari Zone Directory."
"Ahh!" Mama gasps.
"Really?" Papa smiles. "Thank goodness."
"We saw him out in the jungle before you came." Ash said to them. "My friends and I'd be glad to help you find him if you want us to."
"Pika Pi." Pikachu smiled.
"Oh, please let us help you." Misty insisted.
"It would be our pleasure." Brock said.
"Thank you so much." Papa smiled. "Now we can finally be reunited with our son and live together as a family."
"Now that you're helping us, we have one little favor to ask you." Mama said.
"What is it?" Shade wondered.
"Can you carry Papa and me?" Mama asks them.
Jovan, July, Anna, Seth and Slade raised their eyebrows. Jovan looks at Slade before standing up with Seth and July and looking back at Mama.
"I have a better idea." Jovan said.
"What's your idea?" Misty asks him.
"Anna, July, Seth and me will go as a separate group to find Tommy." Jovan said to Mama. "And Slade will go with Jenny to find the poachers while Ash, Misty and Brock help you. That way we can cover more ground that way."
Before his three friends can say anything else, Jovan, July, Anna, Seth and Dragonair quickly ran outside.
Ten minutes later, all five of them stopped running.
"Good thinking on that one, Jovan." Seth said.
"Hearing what the mother said to carry them reminded me about the injured baby elephant." July said.
Jovan transforms back into a human. "Don't remind me." Seth said. "We had to get the elephant out of the hole when help came."
"When Jovan and Anna tried to carry the baby, Anna slips and falls on her butt and slides down the mud." July said. "And then the elephant rolls into Jovan, causing him to fall backwards."
"It was painful." Jovan said. "We had to wait for half an hour until the baby's mother found us with the heard and the others came on time."
"I remember that." July said. "Looks to me they wanted to be more than friends."
"July!" Jovan shouted as Jovan chases his sister around in circles.
"Let's start looking for Tommy, you guys." Seth said.
They began searching for half an hour until Anna hear a voice.
"Listen." Anna whispered.
"Kasgaskhan!"
"That's Tommy's voice!" Jovan cheered. But he notice Dragonair was growling at the direction Tommy was going.
"Let's move!" July shouted.
Team Rocket and Team Neo were driving a red truck with a giant metal Kangaskhan. Jessie was driving as Libby was in the back seat.
"Amuse us with you Kangaskhan voice." Libby said.
"With pleasure." Jessie said, grabbing a radio. "Kangaskhan! Kangaskhan!"
All of the Kangaskhan looks at the fake Kangaskhan, thinking its hurt. But the leader stood in their way with her arms crossed, shaking her head. They ignored the leader and walks past her.
James and Sam opens the mouth with James holding a gun. "They're headed our way." James said. "They don't know it's a fake."
"Hurry!" Justin yelled from below. "Put them to sleep so we can round them all up!"
"Firing tranquillizer!" James shouted, firing at all the Kangaskhan.
Kangaskhan watches in shock as the others were sleeping. Outraged, she tries to attack but was shot as well, going to sleep. Tommy landed on the ground several away from them. After seeing his family being put to sleep, Tommy looks at the fake Kangaskhan.
"You bad Kangaskhan!" Tommy shouted angrily. "Tomo angry!" He throws his boomerang at the beast, but his boomerang bounce off. "Kangaskhan?"
"It's that jungle boy!" James snarled.
"Let's show him who's boss." Jessie said, turning the truck to Tomo.
"Rocket punch!" James shouted.
The metal Kangaskhan fires its fists towards Tommy. Tommy dodges the punches as everyone gathered in front of him.
"We need to stop them now." Jovan said as he stands beside Ash.
"Bulbasaur, I choose you!" Ash shouted, throwing the Poké Ball and Bulbasaur appeared.
"Bulb, come on out!" Jovan shouted, throwing the Poké Ball and Bulb appeared.
"Bulbasaur, quick, use your Vine Whip!" Ash ordered.
"You use Vine Whip too!" Jovan ordered.
The dark green vines comes out on the side of the bulbs and grabs the robot.
"Squirtle, I choose you!" Ash shouted as he throws another Poké Ball and Squirtle appears with Aqua.
"Auqa, use Skull Bash at the windshield!" Jovan ordered.
"Squirtle!" Aqua shouted as she runs and jumps at the opponent with her head down and strikes the windshield with her head.
The windshield break as Tommy jumps onto the head and starts banging with his boomerang.
"That banging is giving a headache." Jessie growled.
"Try this!" James said, pulling the lever.
Kangaskhan Mecha eyes glowed spreads its arms and shook off Tommy. Tommy landed on his hands and feet.
"You've been a bad boy." Meowth said.
"Go, Charmander!" Jovan shouted, throwing a Poké Ball and Charmander appeared.
"Charmander, I choose you!" Ash shouted, throwing a Poké Ball and his Charmander appeared.
Pikachu stood besides the two Charmander and Dragonair.
"Use Double Thunderbolt and Double Flamethrower!" the two trainers ordered.
All four Pokémon attacked, stopping the mecha quickly.
"Kangask!" Tommy yelled, throwing his boomerang at the mecha. The boomerang knocks off the cap of the gasoline and the flames touches the gas. The mecha became on fire.
"AHHH!" Team Rocket and Team Neo yelled.
"You did it, Tommy!" Jovan cheered.
"Tomo do it!" Tommy chered.
But the mecha's eyes glowed red and the truck began moving towards them again.
"Seriosuly?!" Jovan growled.
Officer Jenny pulled behind them. "Get in!" Jenny shouted at them.
"Bulb, Charmander and Aqua, return!" Jovan shouted.
All three of his Pokémon transforms into red energy and went back inside the Poké Balls. Jovan quickly transforms into his black Dragonite as Seth and Slade got on Arcanine's back as Anna hops onto Rose. July get's on Dragonair and they followed Jenny while they were being pursued.
"They think they beaten us huh?" James chuckled evilly.
"Let's give them a taste of our super punch." Jessie said.
Team Rocket and Team Neo turns their heads to the right to see a helicopter flying towards them.
"It's Tommy's parents!" July yelled.
"They're going to crash right into them!" Seth yelled.
The helicopter crashes into the Kangaskhan Mecha, causing the mecha and the helicopter to explode.
"Looks like Team Rocket is blasting off again!" Team Rocket screamed as they disappeared.
It was late afternoon as everyone stood before the wreckage that lay in ruins.
"Tommy's parents saved us all." Misty said.
"They sacrificed themselves to save their son's life." Brock said.
"A child's parent will do anything to protect their child." Jovan said.
"WAH!" Tommy began crying, tears running down his face.
"Pika." Pikachu muttered sadly.
Tommy stops crying all of a sudden as he heard someone singing from the wreckage.
Mama and Papa pushes the rubble off of them wearing the same leopard fur as their son.
"What?" Everyone gasps.
"Tommy, your father and I decided if you love the Kangaskhan so much, we'll live here and protect the Pokémon with you." Mama said.
"Let Mama and Papa join your family." Papa said.
"Huh?" Everyone asked confused.
Mama and Papa nodded their heads.
"Papa." Tommy said. "Mama!" Tommy ran to his parents as all three of them hugged.
"We'll be together from now on, Tommy." Mama assured him.
"Good." Tommy said.
Officer Jenny and the others smiled as they watch them hugged each other.
The next day, Ash and his friends were walking through the fields.
"Do you think Tommy and his parents can really be a family?" Ash wondered.
"Ash, they love each other." Brock said. "They'll be just fine."
"That will be tough." Anna said. "They've been separated for five years."
"Not to mention it's going to be tough to communicate." Jovan mentioned.
"Pikachu." Pikachu agreed. "Pika?" Pikachu stops walking and turns left. "Pika Pika."
Everyone turns to the left and smiled. Standing on the cliff was the Kangaskhan and the leader. Tommy and the baby Kangaskhan was waving towards them from the pouch.
"Kangas Kangaskhan!" Tommy yelled.
Mama and Papa appeared from the pouch. "Kanga Kangaskhan!" they both shouted.
"Looks like you're right, Brock." Misty smiled.
"Like I said, they'll be fine." Brock said.
"Kanga Kangaskhan!" Ash yelled back. Everyone waved back at the Kangaskhan.
Seeing a happy family reunited, Ash remembers his own mother, who is waiting patiently for him back at Pallet. Jovan and July remembers their parents who missed their children very much. But now, our heroes journey on, eager for new adventures and more new Pokémon.
"Kangas Kangaskhan!" Tommy, Mama and Papa waved to them. All of three of the looks at each other and laughed.
"Well I guess like son like father." Papa said.
