Attack Of The Prehistoric Pokémon
Ash and his friends find themselves Beautiful Grandpa Canyon. Our heroes will soon discover this natural wonder will hold ancient secrets.
It's a beautiful day as they all stop in front of a sign. They notice a large group of people walking with some equipment.
"Where are they going?" Jovan wondered.
"And I thought you know everything." Miles said making everyone turn around to see Gary and Miles. They were both wearing a gray hat, a brown yellow shirt, a brown leather jacket, gray pants and black boots with a hand bag and pix axes.
"It's Gary and Miles." Ash said. "Why are you guys dressed like that?"
"Don't tell me you never heard of the Pokémon Discovery." Gary said. "Even a nerd like you should understand about the Great Fossil Rush."
"The Great Fossil Rush?" everyone repeated.
Jovan turns around to see Gary's cheerleaders cheering for him and Miles.
"Gary and I have to get going." Miles said. "We got to find those fossils quick before anyone else does. Can't wait around like a loser like you two." The two trainers ran off.
"Are you kidding?!" Jovan growled. He was about to go after them, but July and Anna held him back.
"Take it easy, Jovan." Anna said to him. They both let him go as he turns around.
"I'll find a fossil first before those two." Jovan sneered. "Then we'll see who's the real loser."
"I don't feel right about digging up Pokémon Fossils, especially when they're resting in the earth for a long time." Brock said, crossing his arms over his chest.
"If they were lying in the ground for a thousand years, maybe they'll like fresh air." Misty smiled.
"Maybe your brain needs fresh air." Jovan said.
"Oh shut up." Anna said.
As they were talking, Jigglypuff peaks out behind a boulder. "Jigglypuff." it smiled. It jumps on the boulder and was about sing and notice no one was here at the sign post. "Puff!" Jigglypuff shouted angrily.
"Got it on my first try." Gary said to a old man. "Must be a brain."
The old man was bald but still have gray hair and a mustache. He was wearing a blue scarf, yellow shirt, gray pants black boots, hanging water tank and was carrying a brown bag.
"It's-" the old man was about to say.
"A Pokémon brain?" Gary interrupted him.
"It's fossilized Pokémon mannure." the old man said, after he examines it and looks at Gary.
"Huh?" Gary smiled nervously before he fell sideways.
Miles looks at the fossil he dug and found the same thing Gary did. "That's disgusting." he said.
Jovan and his friends were looking down at everyone digging.
"There's so many people down here." Jovan said.
"Nair." Dragonair nodded.
"Eevee." Eevee said.
"We should start now before there's no more fossils to dig up." Anna said.
"All these people are digging and they can't find a fossil." Brock said as they look at him. "I wonder if this "Great Fossil Rush" is real."
"It is real." Jovan said to him.
"What's taking them so long?" Justin wondered.
Everyone turns their heads to the right and notices Meowth and Justin.
"I thought humans would always be dependable." Meowth said.
"Ta da!" Jessie and James exclaims as they stands up behind a boulder and sits on top as Libby and Sam walks around the boulder.
"Prepare for trouble!"
"Yes and make it double!"
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all people within our nation!"
"To denounce the evil of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the stars above!"
"Jessie!"
"James!"
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now or prepare to-"
But Meowth interrupted them by hitting their heads with a rubber mallet.
"Are the dynamites in place?" Justin asked Libby.
"We did." Libby answered as Jessie hits Meowth with his mallet, sending him flying into a wall and got covered in rocks.
"Once the dynamite goes off, we'll grab any fossil we can get." Sam said.
"Did you hear that?" Misty asked them. "They're going to up the canyon."
"And the people below will get caught in the crossfire." Seth added.
"Then there's no time to lose." Jovan said, running towards Team Rocket and Team Neo with Dragonair.
"Spread the word." Ash said, to Brock before he and Pikachu ran after Jovan as the others run on the path to warn everyone.
"Ha ha." Justin chuckled, watching Meowth to about to light the fuse. "Those Pokémon Fossils will be ours soon."
"As if!" Jovan shouted as he stops running and Ash and Pikachu caught up.
Team Rocket and Team Neo turns around.
"Not you again!" Jessie moaned.
"They'll mess up our plan again!" Libby growled.
"But you're too late this time." Meowth informs them. "The fuse is already lit." He turns around and sees the fuse is lit.
"Go Aqua!" Jovan shouted, throwing the Poké Ball as Squirtle and Aqua appeared. "Aqua, put out that fuse!"
Squirtle and Aqua used Water Gun to put out the fuse but missed a couple times.
"We need to move!" Jovan shouted as they ran after the fuse.
Team Rocket and Team Neo calls out their Pokemon and chased after them.
"You can do it, Squirtle!" Ash shouted as they continued to run.
"Stop that twerp!" Meowth yelled.
The chase went on as Squirtle and Aqua was trying to put the fuse out while Team Rocekt and Team Neo kept chasing them.
"Weezing, Sludge attack now!" James ordered, but he tripped on a pebble and bumps into Jessie.
"AHH!" Meowth yelled in shock as they roll into him.
"Reallly?!" Justin shouted as he got into the mix.
"We need to get it!" Jovan yelled. He looks over his shoulder and notices Team Rocket and Team Neo is a huge ball rolling towards them.
"Watch out!" Ash yelled.
"Pika!" Pikachu gasps.
They couldn't avoid them as they got into the rolling ball. They kept rolling straight off a cliff and another and another with Jovan at the bottom. He quickly got out of the pile with Dragonair and Aqua.
"The dynamite!" Jovan shouted. He sees three piles of dynamite at the entrance of the cave. "Gr!" He grunted in pain. That last fall hurt him. "Dragonair, Aqua, hurry!"
Aqua hops onto Dragonair's back as Dragonair raced them over near the dynamite as Jovan lands next to them and transforms back into his human form. He takes out his survival night and begin to cut the rope as Aqua was trying to hit the fuse.
They didn't notice Pikachu was free from the pile.
"Pikachu!' he cried, shooting an electric bolt at the fuse. The bolt missed the fuse, Jovan, Dragonair and Aqua as it hit the dynamite.
Jovan just cut the fuse in time to see the blot hit the dynamite. He gasps in shock and horror. As the dynamite begins to glow, Jovan transforms back into his black Dragonite as the dynamite exploded. The explosion cause the ground to break apart.
Jovan and Dragonair hits the ground and fell down the hole.
"Squirtle!" Aqua screams as she fell.
Jovan caught her and throws her with all his might out of the hole before he was caught by falling rocks. The explosion causes a landslide and covered the hole.
The dust disappeared as their was a huge pile of rocks. Squirtle climbs out of the pile.
"Jovan!" July cried as she and her friends ran to the hole.
Misty helps Squirtle to get out of the hole.
"This is bad." Seth said, looking at the piles of rocks.
"We have to get them out." Anna said to Slade.
"Let's move." Brock said as they all jump onto the rocks.
As they were all getting the rock out of the way, Jigglypuff takes a peek from the boulder and notice the huge pile of rocks. The rocks looks like a stage. "Jigglypuff." It smiled, imagining waving to the people. But the rocks fell apart, making Jigglypuff stops imagining the stage as the rocks fell.
"Jiggly?!" Jiggypuff gasps as it was startled. "Puff!" It said angrily, making its body to look like a balloon.
It was dark and cold in the cave. Jovan was laying on the cool floor knocked out as most of his body was covered in a pile of rocks. Dragonair was laying several feet away from him.
"Ngh..." Jovan groans as he opens his eyes. He lifts his head up and looks over his shoulder to see a pile of rocks on him.
Dragonair slowly opens her eyes as she got up and rubs her heard with her tail. She turns around and sees Jovan trying to get out from a pile of rocks. "I'm coming, master." Dragonair said as she slithers toward him. She lift a couple of boulders to free his other arm.
Jovan began to shake his body to loosen the weight of the rocks while Dragonair lift the other rocks. He moved a bit as the weight was becoming light. In one mighty move, Jovan hops away from the pile and landed a couple feet away from the pile.
"Are you okay?" Dragonair asks him.
"I think so." Jovan said as he sit up. He looks at their surroundings. "Where do you think we are?"
"Deep underground in a cave." Dragonair answered.
"How far deep do you think we are?" Jovan wondered. He looks up at the ceiling and couldn't see the hole they fell through. "I can't see the hole we fell in."
Dragonair watch Jovan transforms back into his human form.
"We need to find a way out." Jovan said. "Hm?" He started to hear something moving. Jovan slowly looks around. "Ok, something is down here with us." Jovan said. He stops and notices several pair of eyes looking at them from the dark.
They can hear footsteps coming from the eyes as four Pokemon steps from the darkness.
"What are they?" Jovan wondered as he takes out his Poké Dex.
The first is a small Pokémon similar to an ammonite. It has a sky blue body with ten tentacles and a pale yellow, helix-spiraled shell on its back. The shell's rim has two circular indents where its large saucer-like eyes protrude.
The second is a Pokémon similar to an ammonite. Its sky blue body has several tentacles; the tentacles toward the front are shorter and thicker than those in the back. There is a pale yellow, helix spiraled shell on its back. Several sharp spikes line the shell's midsection from the front to about halfway down its back. The shell's rim has two circular indents where its eyes are visible. Its eyes have yellow sclerae and vertically-slit pupils. It has an oval mouth with a four-sectioned, fang-like beak.
The third is a second small Pokémon resembling a horseshoe crab. It is mostly flat with a protective, brown shell covering its body. There are two small, black eyes on top of its shell, which it uses for sight when it hides on the ocean floor. Underneath the shell is a black space that hides the structure of its main body. Only its four short, yellow legs and a second pair of luminescent red eyes are visible on its underside.
The last one is a bipedal Pokémon with a skeletal build. It has a flat, half-circular head with a point on each side and two small eyes on the front. It is mostly brown, except for its light gray chest and abdomen. There is a ridge down its back with three flat spines on either side and it has a flat, pointed tail. Instead of hands, its forearms have large, sharp, gray scythes. Its thin legs are brown lead to small feet with two large gray claws.
Omanyte and Omastar, Kabuto and Kabutops. It is believed these Pokémon became extinct tens of thousands of years ago. The details of their behavior is shrouded in mystery. Though some have speculated that they may still exist, none of these Pokémon have ever been seen alive.
"Whoa!" Jovan gasps as he puts the Poké Dex. He notices they look angry. "Why do they look angry? Is it because the dynamite woke them up?"
"Nair." Dragonair begins to speak to them. "Nair Dragonair."
"Kabutops!" Kabutops snapped at her, raising his claw. The other three Pokémon were ready to battle.
"We have to fight them then." Jovan said, taking out several Poké Balls. "Charmeleon, Bulb, Arcanine, come on out!" He throws the three Poké Balls and his three Pokémon appeared.
"Charmeleon, use your flame to stop them while Bulb and Arcanine help you out." Jovan told her.
Charmelon yawned, scratching her face as she spits out a little flame. She walks over to the boulder and lays down.
"Seriously?" Jovan muttered.
"Kabutops!" Kabutops shouted.
Omanyte and Kabuto charges toward Arcanine and Bulb as Kabutops and Omastar attacks Dragonair. Jovan quickly transforms into his black Dragonite. He caught Kabutops claws with his own claws.
"Take this!" Arcanine shouted, biting down on Kabuto's shell.
Bulb was having no trouble fighting against Omanyte. He used his whips to hold Omanyte down.
"Whoa!" Jovan jumps in the air to dodge Kabutops claws.
Dragonair lands in between them and fires a Dragon Rage.
"Team Rocket and Team Neo blew up the cannon with dynamite." Misty tells Officer Jenny.
"Ash and Jovan are down there too." Seth added. "They're trapped down there underneath these boulders. Please help us."
"The bulldozers can't make it down here." Jenny said. "We'll have to dig by hand. I'll go and get some help." She turns around and starts to run.
"Go Geodude!" Brock shouted, throwing a Poké Ball and Geodude appeared.
"Go!" Seth shouted, throwing a Poké Ball and Sandslew appeared.
"Geo!" Geodude said.
"Sand!" he exclaims.
"Help us move these rocks!" Brocks ordered them.
Geodude begins lifting throwing the rocks as Sandslew lifts the rocks by using strength. They all got to work digging.
"Hang in there, Jovan." Anna grunted. "You still owe me a new bike."
Arcanine and Bulb was running by several more Omanyte and Kabuto that joined the fray. Two more Kabutops joined the fray too. Jovan was doing his best to dodge the claws.
"Take this!" Jovan shouted, firing a Hyper Beam. But the attack missed. He turns his head to Charmeleon. "Charmeleon!"
"Hm." Charmeleon snored.
"Oh come on!" Jovan groans. He looks back at the three Kabutops that lunges at him with their claws. Jovan couldn't attempt to move out of the way because of the Hyper Beam and the dynamite.
"Jovan!" Dragonair shouted. She flew above the three Shellfish Pokémon releases her Thunderbolt, zapping all three of them.
The attack sent them into the other Pokemon and they were all in a pile.
"Nice one, Dragonair." Arcanine said as they regroup.
Then they heard a roar and a flapping sound from the darkness.
"Now what?" Jovan wondered.
Out of the darkness, a Pokemon appeared and scratches Charmeleon's head and lands on the ground to face them.
It is a pterosaurian, bipedal Pokémon with several draconic features. It has large, membranous wings, as well as small, sharply pointed ears, narrow eyes, a ridged snout, a gaping mouth, and a strong lower jaw full of serrated fangs. Its body is covered in light blue-grey skin with violet wing membranes. Aerodactyl's wings consist of a membrane running from the side of the body to the tip of an elongated finger. The clawed hands at the end of each wing allow it to grasp objects. There is a hump-like ridge with a spike on its back, and it has a strong tail with an arrow-shaped tip. Its talon-like feet have two toes in front and one in the back and are capable of scooping up and tightly clutching its prey in flight.
"Roar!" the Pokemon roared.
Jovan transforms back into his human form and takes out his Poké Dex.
Aerodactyl, an extinct Flying Pokémon. Its hard fangs suggest that it was a carnivore. Its sharp claws were probably used to capture prey.
"Carnivore?!" Jovan gasps in shock. He quickly transforms into his black Dragonite form.
"You intruders are not welcome here!" Aerodactyl growls at them.
"I'll fly up and see if there's a way out." Jovan said to Dragonair and Arcanine. "Bulb, I'm going to need you help me look for a way out."
Bulb hops on his back and flew to the cave ceiling.
"Groar!" she shouted, flying towards Dragonair and Arcanine.
Arcanine fires a Flamethrower at her, but Aerodactyl dodges the flame and slams into Dragonair with great force.
"Hey!" Charmelon shouted, getting Aerodactyl's attention. "You're going to pay for this!" she pointed at the scratch on her forehead.
"You can do it!" Jovan calls from above.
Charmeleon fires a Flamethrower, but the attack miss.
"I got you!" Arcanine yells from behind Aerodactyl. He bites down on the Fossil Pokémon, making it growled in pain.
"Take this!" Aerodactly shouted, firing a Hyper Beam.
All three Pokémon dodges the attack.
"I can feel some air coming through these cracks." Bulb said to Jovan as he was using his vines.
Jovan looks and sees the Hyper Beam coming towards them. "Hang on!" he shouted a Bulb. Jovan fires his own Hyper Beam as the beam came close and both attacks collided. Jovan and Bulb hits the ceiling and fell.
Before Jovan and Bulb hits the ground, the ground breaks as an Onix appeared from the ground and caught them both. The sudden appearance of Onix made a hole in the ceiling to reveal light. Jovan transform back into a human, knocked out.
"Aero!" she shouted, flying to Jovan and carrying him away while Charmeleon grabs onto the Fossil Pokemon's tail as Dragonair flew after them. Arcanine and Bulb hops onto Onix's body and ran up to the surface.
Everyone stood clear of the hole as Aerodactly flew with Dragonair chasing them and Onix appearing from the ground with Acranine and Bulb.
"Arcanine, where's my brother?" July asked.
"Arc!" Arcanine growled to the sky.
Aerodactyl flew above them as Charmeleon lands on a tall mountain. July can see her brother in Aerodactyl's claws. "Jovan!"
As everyone was distracted, Jigglypuff steps out from a rock and notice a short ladder with two spotlights and a generator. "Jigglypuff!" Jigglypuff smiles, running towards it. "Jiggly Jiggly Puff!"
Anna and Seth turns around and notices Jigglypuff.
"It's Jigglypuff." Seth said.
"I see." Anna said as she has an idea. She runs up behind Misty.
"It loves to sing." Misty said to Brock and Seth. "We can use Jigglypuff to sing to Aerodactyl.
"Good idea." Seth smiled.
Misty looks at Jigglypuff. "If you help us now, we'll listen to you sing how much you want." Misty said.
"Puff, Jigglypuff." It smiled and nodded.
Meanwhile, Jovan opens his eyes and looks down. "Whoa!" Jovan gasps, hanging onto Aerodactyl.
"Char!" Charmeleon called to Aerodactyl.
"Ro?" The Fossil Pokémon looks down at Charmeleon and dives towards her. She slams into the Flame Pokémon great force to send her off the mountan.
"Char!" Charmeleon yelled as she fell.
"Nair!" Dragonair shouted, flying towards as fast as she can.
"No!" Jovan shouted.
But Charmeleon's body began to glow. She grew tall and the light disappeared as new the Pokemon flew at high above them. It was a draconic, bipedal Pokémon. It is primarily orange with a cream underside from the chest to the tip of its tail. It has a long neck, small blue eyes, slightly raised nostrils, and two horn-like structures protruding from the back of its rectangular head. There are two fangs visible in the upper jaw when its mouth is closed. Two large wings with blue-green undersides sprout from its back, and a horn-like appendage juts out from the third joint of each wing. A single wing-finger is visible through the center of each wing membrane. The arms are short and skinny compared to its robust belly, and each limb has three white claws. It has stocky legs with cream-colored soles on each of its plantigrade feet. The tip of its long, tapering tail burns with a sizable flame.
"Zard!" she roars as she fires a Flamethrower.
"Whoa!" Jovan gasps.
"Charmeleon evolved into Charizard." Seth said.
"Aero!" The Fossil Pokemon roars back. Aerodactyl flew as Charizard chases them.
"You really do care to come to rescue me when I'm in trouble.." Jovan smiled. "I thought you didn't like me, but I was wrong."
Charizard fires a Flamethrower, hitting Jovan in the face.
"Oh brother." Jovan groans. "She just wants to fight Aerodactyl." Something landed in his hand and he looks at it. His survival knife. Jovan looks down and sees the mysterious hooded figure on the mountain. Jovan nodded and slams the hilt of the knife on Aerodactyl's ankle.
"Aero!" Aerodactyl flinch, letting go of of him.
As he was falling through the air, Jovan's body began to change into an Aerodactyl. Dragonair caught up to him and the two watch Charizard and Aerodactyl battle in the air.
"Zard" Charizard firing a Flamethrower at her opponent.
The Fossil Pokemon dodges the attack and fires a Hyper Beam at her. Jovan opens his mouth and fires his Hyper Beam at her Hyper Beam, making both attacks explode. Before the battle can go on any longer, Jovan can hear singing. He looks down and sees Jigglypuff singing. Jovan transforms back into his human form as he started to fall asleep while he fell. The last thing he saw was Charizard flying towards him.
Charizard caught Jovan and crash landed on the ground as Aerodactyl fell to the ground asleep. Charizard fell forward as Jovan rolls over to a mysterious white egg and a mysterious stone.
Jovan wakes up. He sees the mysterious egg with his arm over it next to the stone.
"An egg?" Jovan asked confused. Jovan sits up and picks up the egg and stone. The egg was nice, smooth and cool like the ocean as the stone was the same thing. "Interesting." Jovan said.
"Zard!" Charizard yawned as she wakes up. She got up. "Char!" She growls at the Aerodactyl who was awake.
Dragonair lands beside her as the rest of Jovan's Pokemon caught up to them with July and the others.
"Jovan!" July cried, wrapping her arms around him.
"I'm fine, July." Jovan smiled, rubbing his sister's head. He stands up and looks at Aerodactyl.
"Let's battle it." Seth said.
But to their surprise, the Fossil Pokemon lowered her head.
"I didn't see that coming." Slade said.
The Fossil Pokémon flew up to them and lands in front of Jovan and Dragonair. "Aero." She spoke to Dragonair. "Aero Dactyl."
"Nair." Dragonair nodded and looks at Jovan. "Dragon Nair."
"You want us to transform?" Jovan asks her.
"Nair." she answered.
Slade watch them transforms into Pokémon.
"So now what?" Jovan asks Aerodactyl.
"Now we speak." Aerodactyl spoke. "I have to say I am glad to meet you all, especially you two, Jovan and Dragonair."
"Wait, how do you know my name and Dragonair?" Jovan asks her.
"Ophelia mentioned about you two and your friends yesterday." Aerodactyl said.
"Nice." Jovan smiled.
"Do you know where she is right now?" Dragonair asks her.
"She's traveling around the region, keeping an eye out for a armored creature and a organization called Team Neo." The Fossil Pokémon said.
"Have you seen the armored creature?" Jovan asked.
"No, but I hear it's helping Team Neo." Aerodactyl answered. "If its strong, I will gladly join you."
"You will?" July asked.
"I will." the Fossil Pokémon answered.
"And what about the others?" Jovan asked.
"They know what to do." Aerodactyl answered.
Slade watches them transforms back into humans.
"When I catch you, do you want to be called Aero?" Jovan asks her.
The Fossil Pokémon nodded.
"Alright then." Jovan smiled, taking out a Poké Ball. "Go, Poké Ball!' he tosses it on the Fossil Pokémon's head.
She transforms into red energy and went inside the Poké Ball. The sphere shakes three times and stops as it disappeared.
"Looks we have a new member of the team." Jovan smiled as he turns around to look at his friends
"But I'm glad you're safe." Anna smiled.
Jovan and his friends met up with the others. Officer Jenny assure everyone was dreaming of two Aerodactyl that was caused by Jigglypuff's song. She also announced due to the cave collapses, no more digging was permitted. Gary and Miles thought the two Aerodactyl was real, but wasn't sure.
Everyone was walking away from the cannon in the late afternoon.
"Did anyone see where Jigglypuff go?" Jovan wondered, looking around as they stop walking.
"It didn't stay around for an encore." Seth said as Jovan and Ash looks at them.
"Jigglypuff, your Charizard and Ash's Charizard saved the day." July smiled.
"That Aerodactyl is one of a kind, Ash." Misty said. "Too bad you didn't catch it."
"But I think Aerodactyl and the others would be better going to sleep. Brock added.
"Maybe you're right." Misty looks at him.
"Hey, I almost forgot." Ash said. He puts his backpack down and opens it, taking out an egg. "I found this when I woke up."
"Whoa!" Brock gasps. "Are you sure it's alright for you to take that?"
"What do you mean?" Ash asked confused. "You think I should've left it with Joy?"
Brock walks up to him and snatches the egg from Ash's hands. "Alright, Ash." Brock smiled. "I'll take care of the egg for you."
"But I could raise it myself." Ash said.
Misty walks behind them. "You would've dropped it anyway." Misty teased.
"I would not." Ash said.
Brock and Misty started running away as Ash runs after them with Pikachu.
"Don't worry, Ash!" Brock called. "I'll take good care of the egg!"
"Hey, wait up!" Ash shouted. "Finders keepers!"
Everyone laughed as their Ash chased Brock and Misty.
"Oh yeah." Jovan said as he remember what he found. Jovan unzip the backpack and revealed the egg and the stone.
July and everyone gasps.
"I found these two before you found me." Jovan said.
"Is that an egg?" Slade wondered, looking at the egg.
"Looks like one." Seth said, taking a closer look at it. He places his hand on the egg then the stone. "And the stone is smooth. But cool too."
"I've never seen an egg like this before." Anna said.
"When we get to the Pokémon Center, we should contact Professor Oak and Professor Ivo." Seth said to Jovan. "I'm sure they want to take a look at the egg and the stone."
"Well now that you found an egg, Jovan, you and Anna are going to be its parents." July teased.
"I agree." Seth smiled.
"I'm so glad that you two are married and ready to raise a child." July said with a sly smile.
"July!" Jovan and Anna shouted with their faces blushing.
July and Eevee started running ahead of them. Jovan zips his backpack and chased after his sister while Seth, Slade and Dragonair was laughing.
And so, our heroes leave Grandpa Canyon, resting place of the ancient Pokémon with a few souvenirs and a new friend. Hm, maybe they should've bought the t-shirts. Meanwhile, another group of tourists are still enjoying the site.
Inside the caves, Team Rocket and Team Neo were sitting across from the sleeping prehistoric Pokémon.
"Someone get us out of here!" Libby called.
"I don't want to be lunch!" Sam whines.
"Aero." The Fossil Pokémon muttered in its sleep.
