The Purr-fect Hero
Our heroes are continuing their Pokémon Journey to Cinnabar Island where Ash Ketchum, Jovan Hale, July Hale, Anna and Seth hopes to earn their seventh Gym Badge on their way to compete in the Pokémon League. Let's see what adventure awaits them today.
It was beautiful as they were all walking down the road. Misty spots something and stops walking.
"Check over there." Misty smiled.
Down the road was a flagpole.
"There's three Pokémon on the flagpole." Jovan pointed out.
On the flagpole was Magikarp, Goldeen and Gyarados.
"You know what that means, don't you?" Brock asks them.
"It's my favorite day of the year." Ash answered.
"It's Kids Day!" the trio exclaims happily.
"Pika Pi!" Pikachu joins them.
They all walk near the flagpole to get a closer look.
"Those three banners of Magikarp, Goldeen and Gyarados are interesting." Anna said, looking up at the banners. "It would be cool if we play the whole day today."
"Hang on." Jovan said, looking at her. "We can't take the whole day off for Kids Day. The Volcano Badge is next one we need."
"You and July just had your Princess Festival." Seth added. "I think Kids Day should be a Boy's Holiday only. Not for girls."
Anna takes out a giant paper fan and hit the three boys on their heads hard. Dragonair used her tail to sweep Jovan off his feet, causing him to land on his back.
"Are we going to play or are we going to play?!" Misty yells at the boys.
"Alright, we'll play." Jovan groans, rubbing the back of his head and sitting up.
"Oh, I'm so glad you're here. We've been expecting you, Pokémon Trainers." a voice said.
Everyone turns their head to the left and notices a young woman. She was wearing a yellow dress with a pink apron, a small blue bow tie, a green headband and light green shoes. She has blue eyes and long brown hair.
"Please come in." the woman said. "The children are waiting for you in the playground."
Brock quickly stood up and grabs her hands. "We're so sorry to keep you waiting." Brock said. "My name is Brock."
"Brock." the woman said. "Nice to mee you. I'm Reiko."
"It's a pleasure to meet a educator as enchanting as you are." Brock smiled, his face blushing.
Reiko's phone began to ring and she answers the phone call. "Hello, Little Kid Preschool."
No one said a word as she talked on the phone.
"What? What do you mean you can't make it? But there are eight- I see. Yes. Thank you." Reiko ended the call.
"Is everything ok?" Jovan asks her.
"The Pokémon Trainers were supposed to visit today and let the children play with their Pokémon." Reiko answered. "They've been so excited to play with the Pokémon. Now they're going to be so disappointed."
"Well, we're Pokémon Trainers." Jovan said.
"You are? But you don't have time to let the children play with your Pokémon."
"Yes we do." Brock said, grabbing her hands again. "We have all the time in the world. We have tons of time. The kids can with all our Pokémon. Those other trainers must be heartless. You can count on us, right Ash?"
"No problem." Ash said to her.
"Oh thank you." Reiko said. "The children will have so much fun."
"So will we." Ash laughed.
"Please come in."
"Thank you." Jovan thanked.
Everyone followed into the Preschool as Team Rocket and Team Neo came out of their hiding places. Team Neo landed in front of Team Rocket.
"Looks like "Kids Day" is our lucky day." Justin said.
"I remember they gave us a day off from school." Sam smiled. "I would relax in the hot tub and have ice cream sandwiches."
"Well, lucky you." Libby growled.
"Didn't you get a day off from school?"
"No." Libby growled. "All I had was homework and tuna sandwiches."
"Sounds pathetic." Justin chuckled.
Libby smacks him in the head with a paper fan in annoyance.
"Children." Reiko calls them. "You can all come out now and meet our Pokémon Trainers."
All the little schoolchildren ran over to the trainers and surrounded Pikachu. They started pull Pikachu's ears, his red pouch cheeks and his stomach. Ash notices Pikachu was getting annoyed.
"Hey kids, take it easy!" Ash exclaims as he pulls Pikachu away.
"Chu!" Pikachu yelled, zapping Ash.
The schoolchildren were trying to reach Pikachu.
"Children, you have to be gentle." Reiko scolds them. "You can't treat Pokémon like toys."
The schoolchildren didn't hear her.
"Quiet, you brats!" Reiko yells at them angrily.
The kids stare at her for a moment before saying "Okay!"
"There. That's much nicer." Reiko smiles sweetly.
Jovan chuckled nervously.
"We wanna see more Pokémon!"
"Show us more!"
"Ok then." Jovan smiled, taking out four Poké Balls. "Wait till you see these Pokémon." He tosses them in the air and Poké Balls opened, making Pidgeotto, Bulb, Aqua and Arcanine appeared.
Slade smiles as he watches his friends call out their Pokémon to show the kids. The Pokémon were enjoying with the kids. They all watch the kids play with the Pokémon as the Pokémon was having a great time.
"Looks like the kids are having fun." Jovan smiled.
"Even the Pokémon are having a great time too." July added.
"It seems like playing the children helps Pokémon to relax." Brock said, writing it down in his notebook. "That's important for Pokémon Breeders to know."
Misty notices a little boy standing alone. "Reiko, what's that little boy's name?" Misty asked.
"Oh, that's Timmy."
They all walk up to the little boy. He has brown hair, green eyes, a green shirt, red shorts, white socks and blue shoes.
"Hi there, Timmy." Jovan said to Timmy.
"Don't you want to play with the Pokémon?" July asks him.
"I want to, but..." Timmy said, looking up at the trainers.
"If you're afraid of them, we won't force you to." Seth said.
"I'm not scawed." Timmy protested. "The Pokémon I want to meet is Meowth."
"A Meowth?"
Jovan looks at his sister.
Misty kneels down next to Timmy. "Timmy, why is Meowth the only Pokémon you want to see?"
"Well, you see." Timmy said. "I playing the fowest one day."
Flashback
Timmy was running away from an angry Beedrill.
"All of a sudden, I got attacked by a Beedrill."
Timmy trips and lands on his stomach. He turns around and screams as the wild Beedrill dove towards him. All of a sudden a Meowth appeared out of a tree and used Scratch on the Beedrill. It landed on the ground and sees Beedrill flying towards it. The wild Meowth jumps into a forward spin and kicks Beedrill, causing it to fly away.
Before Timmy can thanked it, the wild Meowth runs away into the woods.
"Oh thank you, Meowth."
Flashback End
"Wow." Ash said. "That's an amazing story."
"Uh, tell me, Timmy." Misty said. "Did the Meowth say "Now you owe me big time kid, nyah". Or anything like that?"
"Course not." Timmy said. "I know Pokémon can't talk."
"I wouldn't be too sure about that." Jovan said to Timmy.
"So it looks like a wild Meowth fought off that Beedrill to save Timmy." Seth said. "That may be unusual, but it has will to fight a stronger Pokémon."
Misty stands up. "I guess there's all kind of Meowth."
"That's why Meowth is the only Pokémon I want to meet." Timmy smiled. "That Meowth is my hewo!"
Three kids walks up behind them.
"Awe you telling that same stowy again?"
Timmy turns around to look at the boy.
"No Meowth can do as you say you can."
"It can too!" Timmy argued.
"Well, pwove it then!"
"But I..."
"You can't pwove it, can you?"
"You're just a liar, Timmy."
"I am not a liar!"
"You're a liar, liar, pants on fire."
"Let's calm down now." Jovan said, trying to calm the two boys.
But then they heard loud cheery music coming down the road.
"What's that?" Jovan wondered, hearing the music.
There was a blue van driving down the road.
"Come one and all to be amazed!" the magician exclaims happily. "You'll be absolutely stounded by the world's greatest Pokémon Magic Show!"
"It's mystifying and testifying!" he assistant smiled. "And we have a special treat in honor of Kids Day!"
"Today, and today only, our Pokémon magic show is free!"
"A Pokémon Magic Show?" Anna smiled, looking at Jovan.
"We have got to see this." Jovan smiled as the kids rushes to the van.
"Now, who want to see a little Pokémon magic?!" the magician asked.
"Oh oh oh!"
"Me, me me!"
"Ha ha!" the magician laughed. "First we'll make a certain Pokémon disappear!"
"Pikachu." James smiled.
Justin was sitting in between Sam and Libby. "Let's hope this works." Justin whispered.
"Don't say anything!" Libby hisses at him.
The magician and her assistant stood on stage in front of everyone with a box in between.
"Ladies and gentlemen!" the magician announced. "And children of all ages!"
"The Pokémon Magic is about to begin!" her assistant smiled.
"Look inside the magic box as you can see it's empty." the magician said as the two of them open the lid and showed there was nothing inside the box. "There's nothing inside."
"When a Pokémon is placed inside the box, something mysterious will happen." her assistant explains.
"Let's see." the magician said, her eye straight on Pikachu. "Is there a Pikachu in the house?"
Everyone turns their attention to Pikachu who was sitting down in Ash's lap.
"A Pikachu?" Ash asked, looking down at Pikachu.
"Why yes." the magician answered. "A Pikachu is necessary for this illusion."
"What do you say, Pikachu?"
"Pika." Pikachu agreed to do it.
The assistant walks over to them. "Thank you very much." she said, picking up Pikachu and walking back to the stage.
"First we'll put the Pikachu in the magic box." the magician said, opening the box.
"Like so." the assistant puts Pikachu in the box.
"Then close the lid." the magician closes the lid. "Now watch."
"One, two, three."
A small speck of cloud puffs from the box.
"Meowth!" Meowth exclaims, jumping out of the box and landed on the lid. "Ta da!"
"Meowth?" Ash asked confused.
"It's Meowth!" Timmy smiled standing up.
The children started cheering and clapping.
"Thank you and that's our show for today." the magician said, walking away her assistant and Meowth.
"Now hang on!" Jovan shouted as the trainers stood up.
"Aren't you going to give back Pikachu?" Seth asked.
"You look very familiar." Ash said.
"Who are you people?" Anna asks them.
The magician throws their disguises away and it was Team Rocket.
"Time to prepare for trouble!"
"Presto chango and make it double!"
The children were already in front of them as they want to play with Meowth.
"Alright, it's quiet time now." Jessie said to the kids.
"We're just getting to the good part." James added.
"To protect the world from devastation."
"To unite all people from within our nation."
"To denounce the evil of truth and love."
"To extend our reach to the stars above."
"Jes-ow!" Jessie yelled as two kids were pulling on her hair.
"Looks like the kids had enough." Anna said.
"They're a tough crowd." Jovan said.
"No fair!" James complained. "That's mine!"
The children was using Weezing as beach ball.
"Weezing makes a nice volleyball." Jessie said, protecting her hair.
"Stop that!"
"Children!" Reiko calls out to the children. "Please stop before someone gets hurt!"
The children didn't hear her.
"Get inside this instant!" she raised her voice.
Everyone watches the children leave the room.
"Weezing, Smokescreen, now!" James ordered.
"Weez!" it cried, firing a dark green smokescreen.
"Meowth!" Timmy yelled, running towards Meowth. He jumps and knocks the box over, causing Meowth to hit the floor and releasing Pikachu, but Timmy was captured.
"Quit playing around, Meowth!" James said to Meowth.
"Let's get out of here!" Jessie shouted. James and herself picks up box and ran away.
"Hope you enjoy the show!" Jessie and James calls out to the confused trainers.
Team Rocket made it the van and drove off.
"Hey, come back!" Ash called them as he ran outside and stopped, watching the van drive off. "Pikachu."
"Pika Pi!"
"Huh?" Ash turns around to see Pikachu running towards him. "Pikachu!" Ash smiled as Pikachu jumps in his arms. "You came back, just like magic."
"Pika Pika." Pikachu smiled.
"Where's Timmy?" Reiko wondered as they all went outside. "We looked all over the school and can't find him anywhere!"
"Huh?!" Ash gasps in shocked.
Team Rocket and Team Neo parked the van in the woods as Team Rocket and Team Neo surrounded the box.
"We finally caught Pikachu." Libby smiled.
"Let's see it." Sam suggested.
Jessie quickly pulls the lid open and grabbed a upset Timmy. Team Rocket and Team Neo were surprised.
"Why do we have a little kid here?!" Libby wondered.
Timmy began crying.
"Don't cry!" Jessie exclaims, trying to calm the little boy.
James looks in the box. "There's no Pikachu!"
"But how?" Libby wondered.
"Maybe it's magic." James suggested.
Meowth didn't know what to say.
Timmy notices Meowth. "It's Meowth!" Timmy smiled happily. "I can't believe it's really you! Put me down! Put me down!" Jessie puts him down and Timmy rushes up to him. "Don't you remember? I was in the forest when Beedrill attacked and then you save me. Ever since then, I wanted a Meowth for my own. That's because you're my hero."
Meowth chuckles nervously. "You got the-"
Jessie and James covered Meowth's mouth.
"Will you give us a second?" Libby smiles sweetly at Timmy.
They quickly ran to the other side of the van. Jessie and James let Meowth go.
"I don't think this has seen you before." Libby said to Meowth. "It must've been a wild Meowth that saved him from that Beedrill."
"But he thinks you're that Meowth." Jessie added.
"Me?" Meowth pointed at himself.
"Meowth, you have to make him think you're that wild Meowth." James said to him in a lower voice.
"Do I have to?"
"Team Rocket and Team Neo may be in the business of rotten cheaters but destroying children's dreams." Sam said. "At least not yet."
"And Team Rocket and Team Neo may be liars, but a lie can make one of us a hero in the eyes of a little boy on Kids Day." Jessie added.
"I could be a hero?" Meowth smiled. He imagines himself wearing a costume and signing autographs. "I'll do it."
"Good." Libby said. "But don't forget to keep your mouth shut."
"If you say a word, he'll know you're a fake." Sam said.
"No problem."
"Not a word, Meowth." Libby said.
"Don't forget." James added.
"Meowth." Meowth said.
Timmy was wondering where Meowth was. "Meowth!" he called. "Where awe you?"
Jessie and James stood in front of Timmy as Team Neo stood behind him.
"Sorry for the wait, crybaby." Jessie snickered.
"Huh?" Timmy takes a step back.
"You're Meowth is not so tough." Sam smiles evilly.
"And we're about to show you why." Jessie added.
Timmy took a couple steps back and Meowth lands in between Team Rocket and Timmy.
"Oh no." Libby said sarcastically as they joined James by his side. "A measly little Meowth is going to fight us. How cute."
"It really doesn't stand a chance against us." Sam taunted him.
"Come on, Meowth." Timmy said to Meowth. "You can protect me from them just like you saved me from that Beedrill."
"Meow." Meowth nodded.
"We'll take care of you." Libby said as they began to surround them.
"Meowth, just use your Furry Swipes like you did with that Beedrill." Timmy encourages him.
"Get them!" Libby shouted.
Meowth lunges at Jessie and James first and scratch their face and shirt uniforms, causing them to yell in pain and landed on the backs. He quickly turns around and used Furry Swipes on Libby, Sam and Justin.
"EEK!" the trio shouted in pain, falling backwards on the ground with tears in their eyes.
Meowth chuckled and grab's Timmy's hand to make a run for it.
"I think he went good with the acting." Libby moaned, sitting up.
"So true." Sam agreed.
Back at the preschool, the trainers were making a plan to rescue Timmy.
"We have to split up and look for Timmy." Jovan said to his friends.
They all nodded their heads.
Reiko kneels halfway to look at the kids. "The rest of you stay inside where it's safe." she said gently to them.
But the kids didn't like that idea and wanted to help too.
"I said go back inside!"
July smiles nervously.
"Hey!"
The trainers turns around and notices Timmy and Meowth running back to them.
"He's back." Jovan smiled.
Timmy and Meowth stops in front of them.
"Look, here's the Meowth I told you about." Timmy smiled.
"Where did you find it?" Brock asks him.
"Meowth came back to help me again." Timmy explains.
"Meowth." Meowth said.
"Wow." Ash said, impressed.
"This wild Meowth just look like the same Meowth from Team Rocket." Brock said, looking at Meowth.
"It sure does." July said.
"Meowth Meowth." Meowth chuckled nervously.
"Hey, Timmy, I guess you were telling the truth after all."
"I shouldn't have called you a liar, Timmy. I'm sorry."
"Dat's ok." Timmy said, turning to look at Meowth. "I'm just glad to find my friend Meowth."
"I'm sorry. Is it ok if we play with Meowth too?"
"Is that ok with you, Meowth?" Timmy asks him.
Meowth nodded his head.
"Ok." Timmy said to the three kids.
The children began to surround Meowth and play with him.
"Everybody loves Meowth." Timmy smiled.
"Dat's right." Meowth said.
"Hang on." Anna said to everyone. "That Meowth just spoke!"
"Are you sure?" Jovan asks her.
"I'm sure of it." Anna answered, looking at Meowth.
Everyone stares at Meowth.
"Meowth..." Meowth smiles nervously. There was an awkward silence and Meowth began to take a couple steps back.
"Meowth?" Timmy asked confused.
Meowth turns around and was about to leave, but he stops to listen to the children not wanting him to leave. Then he ran back into woods.
"Come back!" Timmy calls to Meowth, running after him. "Come back!"
"Hang on!" Jovan calls to the little boy as they all ran after Timmy.
Team Rocket and Team Neo was waiting in a small mountain pass. Libby looks up and notices Meowth stopping in front of them.
"What happened?" Libby asks him.
"I think... I blew it..." Meowth panted.
"Good." Libby smiled.
"This show is over." Sam said.
Timmy and the trainers arrived at the moutain.
"Looks like a dead end." Seth said, looking at the rocky walls.
"That doesn't make sense." Jovan said, looking at the area. "We saw Meowth run down here."
"And you fell right into our trap!"
They all notice Team Rocket standing on a boulder with a small blue radio as Team Neo landed on the left side of the boulder.
"To protect the world from devastation."
"To unite all people from within our nation."
"To denounce the evil of truth and love."
"To extend our reach to the stars above."
"Jessie!"
"James!"
"Team Rocke blasts off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now or prepare to fight!"
"Meowth-"
Jessie and James gasps in shocked. Jessie hits Meowth in the head with a giant fan, followed by James vacuum hose.
"You guys again?!" Jovan growled.
"We've retired from the world of magic." Jessie said.
"But we still have some tricks up our sleeves." James added.
Then they notice the children standing in front of the boulder.
"Go back to where you came from, you little brats." Jessie said in a sweet voice.
"Time for you to disappear now." James waves at them.
"Time for a Pokémon Battle!" Jessie and James declared, pointing fingers at them.
"Bring it!" Jovan yelled.
"Arbok, go!" Jessie called, throwing out a Poké Ball.
"Go, Weezing!" James called, doing the same thing.
Team Neo sent out Beedrill, Fearow and Pidgeotto. All five Pokémon appeared.
"Pidgeotto, I choose you!" Ash called out, throwing a Poké Ball and Ash's Pidgeotto appeared.
"I'll help too, Ash!" Brock shouted. "Go, Onix!" He throws a Poké Ball and Onix appeared.
"Groar!" Onix roared.
"Arcanine, get ready to battle!" Jovan shouted, throwing a Poké Ball and Arcanine appeared.
"Arca!" Arcanine cried.
"Help us out, Sandslew!" Seth shouted, throwing a Poké Ball and Sandslew appeared.
"Shrew!" it cried.
"Get in there, Vul!" Anna shouted, throwing a Poké Ball and Vul appeared.
"Vulpix!" Vul shouted.
"Weezing, Sludge attack!"
Weezing fires a dark green smoke.
"That same trick won't work again!" Ash shouted. "Pidgeotto, Gust attack!"
"Geo!" Pidgeotto cried, flapping his wings fast to clear the smog.
"Wee!" Weezing cried, getting blown away.
"Hey, where did Arbok go?" Brock wondered, noticing Arbok was underground.
"I don't know!" Ash yelled.
"Ha ha!" Jessie laughed. "Peek ka boo!"
Arbok comes up from underground and attempt to attack Pidgeotto.
"Watch out, Pidgeotto!" Ash cried.
"Ark!" Arbok yelled.
Sand slew came up from underneath the ground and hits Arbok, followed by Onix's Tackle. He looks up and sees Justin's Pidgeotto, Beerdill and Fearow flying down towards him.
"Flamethrower!" Jovan and Anna ordered.
Arcanine and Vul open their mouths, firing a stream of fire at all three. The attacks sent them flying towards Team Rocket. Jessie and James ducked as all four Pokémon hits the wall, causing a giant boulder to roll towards them.
"That rock!" Brock gasps.
Ash turns around. "Run and hurry!" Ash shouted to Misty, Reiko, July, Slade and the children.
Timmy tripped and fell on his stomach.
"Oh no!" Jovan gasps, turning around to see Timmy on the ground.
Jovan and Ash ran over to the little and Ash picks up Timmy. Meowth saw the boulder rolling close to them. "It's too late!" Meowth shouted.
"Huh?" Ash looks up and sees the boulder getting close. "AHH!"
"They're gonna get-" Meowth was saying, but the wild Meowth landed and jumps off from Meowth. The wild Meowth extended its leg and destroyed the boulder.
"Meowth!" Timmy smiled.
"What was that?" Meowth wondered.
"AHH!"
"Huh?"
Meowth turns around to see Jessie and James moving another boulder uncontrollably towards them as Libby, Sam and Justin was trying to get away. "AAHH!" Meowth screamed as he ran away with his friends trying not get crushed.
"Get us off this thing!" Jessie and James yelled together.
"Team Rocket just keeps rolling along!"
The wild Meowth was sitting on a rock as everyone smiled.
They all went back to the preschool.
"Thank you." Reiko thanked them. "Thank you for all your help."
"If you need more help, just call me." Brock said.
"You know what, Ash?" Timmy asked him, walking up to the trainers. "When I get big, I wanna be a Pokémon Trainer just like you, Brock, Misty, Jovan, July, Anna and Seth." Then he turns around to look up at the roof to see his Meowth looking down. "Then me and my Meowth can get into the Pokémon League."
"The Pokémon League, huh?" Ash smiled.
"That means you'll be competing against them." Misty said.
"It'll be fun to compete against an old friend." Ash said. "Won't it, Timmy?"
Ash and Timmy chuckled.
"Take care everyone."
"See ya."
"Bye everybody."
"Be good and behave."
Everyone began to walk off and waved to Reiko, Timmy and the students.
And as they head to their next Pokémon adventure, our heroes know this is one Kids Day and their new friends will never forget.
It was a late afternoon as Team Rocket and Team Neo was walking on the dirt path.
"Too bad, Meowth." Jessie said to Meowth. "If you kept your mouth shut, everybody would think you were the hero."
"Nah." Meowth said. "That bunch of stickly little helpless brats would've drive me nuts. Besides, you guys need me more than they do."
"Dream on, Meowth." James said. "By the way, what do we do now?"
"We're going to get that Pikachu of course." Libby said.
"Don't worry, you guys." Sam told his friends. "Meowth always have a plan, right Meowth?"
