Hey guys, here's chapter 9 of Digimon: Adventure Loud. This chapter will center around Luna and Sam. Here we go.
Luna sat in her room strumming her guitar while her siblings ran around the house doing their normal activities. She heard the familiar voice of Lola in her room doing a tea party with a new 'guest'.
"Oh, Mr. Flufflelump, you're so polite." Luna heard Lola say. "Yes, this is a new tiara."
Luna tried her best not to laugh. Mr. Flufflelump was Gabumon posing as a stuffed animal in an attempt to blend in. Like Otsoamon, Gabumon got dragged to Lola's tea parties. However, unlike Otsoamon, Gabumon didn't seem to mind much. Plus, with Otsoamon with Lincoln in Great Lakes City visiting the Casagrandes, Gabumon got all the tea party time to himself.
"Just for that, here's an extra lemon bar," Luna heard Lola say.
"Heh. Gabs really knows how to play the role," Luna muttered, giving her guitar a few strums, "Still can't believe he actually likes that stuff."
As she's strumming her guitar, she remembers something that Lincoln told her. "Little bro said that we gotta be on the lookout for invading digimon. Something that he's been doing solo for a few weeks now. But with him gone, that falls on Sam and me. Better talk to Gabs about it." She climbs off her bunk and heads to the twins's room where she sees Gabumon in a suit sitting at Lola's table with the rest of the young princess's toys and Lola who's pouring tea.
"Hey Lols, mind if I borrow Mr. Flufflelump for a minute?" Luna asked.
Lola hesitates before sighing, "I guess," she says handing Gabumon to Luna while also handing her a cup of team. "This is his tea. Make sure he finishes it."
"Will do, sis," Luna winked at the pageant princess.
Luna carries Gabumon out of the room and takes him to her room. She sets him down and closes her door. When she turns around, she sees Gabumon sipping the tea with his pinky out.
"Dude. You actually like that stuff?" Luna asked, surprised. Gabumon stops sipping his tea.
"It actually tastes good," Gabumon replied, "It's quite relaxing," he takes a final sip and sets the cup down. He then takes off the waste coat he was put in, "So, what do you need?"
"It's about the Digimon attacks," Luna started, "With Linc gone, it's up to you, me, Sam and Bearmon to protect the city," she told him.
"Don't worry, Luna. I'm sure we can handle whatever Digimon comes our way," Gabumon reassured.
"Yeah, but what if we ended up fighting a strong champion level Digimon?" Luna asked.
"Bearmon and I should be able to handle it if we work together," Gabumon assured her, "Don't forget, we had Kuwagamon beat before Vulkamon got involved."
"Yeah, but there's only so much you can do as rookies. Remember, Lincoln told us Otsoamon almost got destroyed once," Luna said.
"That is true, but he was also fighting by himself," Gabumon reminded her, "Don't worry, Luna, we'll be fine. Trust me."
"Yeah." Luna says. "You're right little dude. Let's get going."
In the park Sam was waiting for Luna while Bearmon hid in a tree.
"So, there's a football team called the Bears?" Bearmon said.
"Yep. They're the team in Chicago," Sam confirmed.
"But you guys have a team called the Lions?" Bearmon asked.
"Yep," Sam replied again.
"So, why are you guys rooting for the wrong team!?" Bearmon asked. "Cleary you gotta root for the Bears but instead you root for an oversized house cat?"
Sam chuckled, "It's complicated, Bearmon."
"Clearly, you guys need to root for the superior creature." Bearmon says. Sam rolls her eyes as she keeps an eye open for her girlfriend. However, a question popped into Sam's head.
"Hey, Bearmon? Why are the Digimon even coming here?" Sam asked. Bearmon doesn't respond right away. He just sighs.
"I wish I could tell why Sam. Trust me, I do, but I don't know the answer to that." Bearmon answers.
"Damn," Sam said.
"I don't know why some Digimon come here," Bearmon continued, "They just do. Maybe there's a reason, but maybe there isn't. Maybe one day we'll have the answer. Just not today." Sam sighs and looks up at her partner.
"Yeah, hopefully. Thanks, little dude." Sam said.
"Yo, Sam!" Sam looks around and sees Luna walking over with Gabumon riding on her back.
"Hey Luna." Sam greeted. "Um, why is Gabumon on your back?"
"Pretending he's a backpack." Luna panted. "He's heavier than he looks."
"Hey!" Gabumon retorted.
"Well, you are, dude," Luna said, setting her Digimon down, "You might want to cut down on the sweets," she teased.
"I'll have you know I'm on a diet." Gabumon said, offended.
"Sure, you are." Bearmon says from his tree.
"So, what's up, Sam?" Luna said, hugging her girlfriend.
"Just talking with Bearmon about why Digimon are coming here in the first place," Sam answered, "Sadly, Bearmon didn't know." Luna crossed her arm and thought about it before turning to Gabumon.
"Do you know?" Luna asked her partner. Gabumon shakes his head.
"Sorry, Luna, I don't know." Gabumon replied. "We Digimon are all different. Our reasons for doing things are never the same."
"Well, damn," Luna said, "All we know is that you two and Otsoamon came to this world to find us."
"And we don't even know how we did it," Bearmon admitted, "We just appeared."
"Eh, I'm sure the answer will come to us someday," Luna shrugged.
"So, what do we do now?" Sam asked. "Wait for a random Digimon to show up and start a brawl?"
"I assume so." Luna answers. "But it could take a while."
That's when Gabumon felt a tingle run up his spine.
"I sense something," Gabumon growls. He looks around, "A Digimon and it's close!" Luna and Sam look at him surprised while Bearmon was looking around from his tree.
"How close?" Luna asks.
Suddenly Gabumon tenses up and suddenly tackled the two girls to the ground. Seconds later a purple beam blasts through the tree causing the tree to fall with Bearmon barely escaping the tree in time.
"I'd say close," Bearmon answered.
They look towards the direction of the blast and see a large white gorilla with a gray stomach and face as well as one gray arm. Most noticeably the gray arm had a cannon at the end of it. The large gorilla let out a roar and beats his chest.
"What the hell is that?" Sam asked. She pulls out her digivice and a hologram of the gorilla popped up.
Name: Gorllamon
Level: Champion
Signature move(s): Energy Cannon
"Gorillamon is a powerful Digimon, known for their great strength cannon blasts," Bearmon told them, "However, they aren't too bright."
"So, like Lynn," Luna said.
"Pretty much," Gabumon agreed. "However, we still have to stop him."
Gorillamon looks at them and roars.
"I'd like to see you try," Gorillamon growled. The large ape charged forward.
"Blue Blaster!" Gabumon shouted before blasting a blue flame at Gorillamon who bats it away. "That's not good."
Bearmon then rushes forward.
"Bear Fist!" Bearmon shouted as he threw a punch surrounded by energy shaped like a bear at the ape who catches it with his hand. "That's not good."
Gorillamon then proceeded to throw Bearmon away.
"That's not good, dudes." Luna said as Gabumon rushed forward.
"Guys, I don't think you stand a chance against that thing. It's stronger than that bug Digimon we fought," Sam said.
"Doesn't matter," Gabumon said as he slashed at Gorillamon with his claws but barely damaged him, "He needs to be stopped, no matter what!"
Gorillamon then kicked Gabumon high into the air. He then aimed his cannon in Gabumon's direction.
"Energy Cannon!" Gorillamon shouted.
"Gabumon!" Luna shouts. Before the cannon can fire, Bearmon jumps in and punches the cannon causing Gorillamon to miss.
"Not today, you big monkey!" Bearmon shouted.
"You!" Gorillamon growled, aiming his cannon at Bearmon, "Energy Cannon!"
The blast hits Bearmon, sending the bear Digimon sliding back.
"BEARMON!" Sam shouted as she watched the bear Digimon get hurt.
"Bearmon!" Gabumon gasped before glaring at the large ape, "You're gonna pay for hurting my friend!"
"Then try it, wimp." Gorillamon challenged. Gabumon growled and prepared his claws.
"Luna, are you still with me?" Gabumon asked not taking his eyes off Gorillamon.
Luna hesitates to answer as she stared at the large ape. He had already dominated the two rookies and basically took down Bearmon with a single blast. She then sees her girlfriend cradling the small bear in her arms.
"Bearmon. Hang in there, little dude!" Sam begged. Luna stares at them before narrowing her eyes.
"I'm with you dude," Luna tells him, "Take him down!"
At that moment, a ring of data appeared around Luna's hand.
"Whoa, dude!" Luna said, checking out the data ring on her hand, "Does this mean what I think it means?"
"Yeah, I can finally digivolve!" Gabumon looked over his shoulder at her with a grin.
"Do it, Luna," Sam with a supportive and encouraging smile.
"Alright, little dude," Luna said, "Let's do this!" she does several hand movements, several that looked like she was strumming a guitar as she ran it across her digivice, "Execute! Champion Digivolution!" the Fractal Code proceeded to surround Gabumon.
"Gabumon digivolve too..." Gabumon shouted. When the Fractal Code vanished, in its place stood a large white wolf with blue stripes on its body.
"Garurumon!" Garurumon announced before howling.
"Garurumon?" Luna said with shock.
Luna pulled out her digivice and a hologram of Garurumon popped up.
Name: Garurumon
Level: Champion
Signature move(s): Howling Blaster, Sub-Zero Ice Fang
"Wicked!" Luna gasped, "Alright, big guy. Sick that monkey!"
"Howling Blaster!" Garurumon shot a powerful beam from his mouth.
Gorillamon is hit by the blast sending him sliding back. Garurumon lunges forward with a snarl and leaps onto Gorillamon who tries to push him back.
"Sub-Zero Ice Fang!" Garurumon bit down on Gorillamon's cannon arm, crushing and freezing it in his jaws.
"My cannon! You'll pay for that!" Gorillamon roared before swinging his fist at Garurumon. The large wolf dodges with ease before facing him again.
"Howling Blaster!" Garurumon roared before blasting Gorillamon with blue flames causing the ape digimon to turn to a silhouette with a Fractal Code around him.
"Time to put this monkey out of business..." Luna said, swinging her arm, "Fractal code, digitize!" she said as scanned the data, Gorillamon reverting to an egg.
The Fractal Code then went around around the park repairing the damage that was caused by Gorillamon. The Fractal Code then surrounded Bearmon and when it disappeared, the bear Digimon was healed.
"Whoa. I'm better," Bearmon says surprised. "Didn't know the Fractal Code could do that.
"Well, apparently it can," Sam said, affectionately rubbing her partner's head.
"Good job, Garurumon," Luna scratched her partner under the chin, followed by kissing his nose.
"Hehe. Thanks." Garurumon said. "But the power this level has is unreal. I feel like I can beat anyone."
However, he reverts back to Gabumon.
"Or I can turn back to Gabumon," Gabumon said with a sigh.
Luna chuckled, "Well, looks like Linc's not the only one with a Digimon that can digivolve now," she said affectionately rubbing the top of her Digimon's head.
"That's right," Gabumon says, "We can take on anyone now!"
"Don't forget us!" Sam said before looking at Bearmon, "We can't fall behind, little dude!"
"No, we can't," Bearmon said in agreement.
"The next Digimon we face, Bearmon and I will take it down," Sam said, clenching a fist of determination.
Luna smiles before grabbing her girlfriend and dipping her down. "Sure will babe!" she says, "Can't wait to tell Lincoln about this."
And that's the end of this chapter. This marks the second digivolution for one of the digi-destined's Digimon. This chapter was co-written with my friend Zachlor16.
