Inside the tower of justice
Seeing Luffy fighting against Tohdoh in front of the Courtyard, Zero stated.
"I think Tohdoh will be able to hold him off until CP9 arrives."
"Perhaps, but wasn't that a situation to be avoided?" CC questioned. "I doubt Spandam would be happy about you asking his subordinates for help."
"Spandam is supposed to be the one giving the orders." Zero stated. "And since he refuses to do his job, it's up to me to take over! Our second objective is to capture Mugiwara before he can get to the Tower of Justice and our priority is to make sure Nico Robin leaves this island on a government ship! Even if we experience some casualties in our ranks, I doubt the government will blame us, knowing that it was Spandam's job to do the job."
"It is true that avoiding disaster can be a good strategy." Light said. " Nevertheless ... "
Staring at the screen where Sodom and Gomorrah could be seen, the high school student stated.
"Mugiwara isn't the only person heading in our direction."
"Have no fear." Zero assured him, grabbing his den-den mushi. "I'm going to stop them."
Holding a den-den mushi in hand, a soldier stated.
"Have no fear, Zero-san! The plan is going as planned! We will stop these intruders."
Then stopping the call, the soldier turned around to see his companions filling a huge hole, which was in the middle of the path leading to the courtyard.
"Hurry up! The intruders are coming."
"They're going to have quite a surprise when they come here." Assured another soldier, with a shovel in his hand.
Putting earth in the hole, the soldier and his companions covered a large quantity of explosives. With a device in hand, a government agent walked away from the hole and into an alley.
"When those monsters get here, we'll just have to blast them with these explosives! And if that's not enough..."
Raising his gaze, he stared at the many soldiers who were on the roofs of the building.
"We have everything planned to finish off the survivors."
Suddenly hearing the ground shake, the other soldiers quickly left the area, waiting impatiently to see the King Bulls arrive and explode. Smiling broadly, the man responsible for activating the explosions stared across the street, ready to see the monsters arrive.
However, waiting for many seconds, he didn't see any enemy coming.
" Huh ? "
"What are they doing?" A soldier asked. "Normally, these monsters should already be here."
Suddenly, a soldier pointed his finger in the air before shouting.
" They're over there. "
Being able to be seen behind the dwellings, Sodom and Gomorrah continued to advance...taking a path that took them away from the Tower of Justice.
"Where are they going?" Shouted the soldiers. "They're going in the wrong direction."
"ZORO!" Nami yelled. "Where are you taking us?"
"The Tower of Justice is on the other side." Lucy assured.
"I found a shortcut." Zoro assured.
"YOU LOST US!" His comrades roared.
Finally, forced to make a detour, Sodom returned to the Tower of Justice, followed by Gomorrah. Seeing them go by a route other than the one that had been booby-trapped with explosives, the soldiers could only look at them without going, annoyed.
"We did all this…for nothing."
Inside the tower of justice
This time, Zero couldn't help but feel frustrated, seeing his second plan fail. Normally, the pirates would have gone through this path to go directly to the courtyard. And yet, without him understanding the reason, Zero had seen the enemy suddenly make a huge detour.
"Did they guess my plan?"
Remaining silent, Light couldn't help but think.
"This guy isn't incompetent! However, I can't tell if he's unlucky or if it's these pirates who have legendary luck."
Maintaining his calm, Zero called Kallen.
"Kallen! Is your Guren still operational?"
"Yeah!" Kallen assured him. "Sorry Zero! I only managed to hurt one enemy."
"It's better than nothing." Zero assured. "Listen, I want you to go to the courtyard immediately! Tohdoh is there and CP9 will surely not be long! I want you to help them defeat Mugiwara and the rest of his companions when they arrive."
"Understood." Kallen assured.
Then, Lelouch turned back to the screens.
"Okay! Now it's time to get serious! Delta 1! Alpha 2! Get into position to take down the enemy."
"The courtyard is before us again." Sanji, who had taken Zoro's place, said.
"So, we will arrive soon." Yosaku rejoiced.
"Maybe, but I don't see Luffy-aniki anywhere." Johnny declared, looking for him. "Do you think we passed him without realizing it?"
"If that's the case, it's not a problem." Bruno assured. "They will catch up with us without the slightest difficulty."
For her part, Velvet only looked at her injured arm which was in a splint, while Chopper had covered it with bandages. Noticing that Kallen could have defeated her if her comrades had not intervened, the demoness growled in anger. She refused to leave this island without having taken her revenge.
At that moment, a mortar shot was fired and hit Sodom. Letting out a cry of agony, the poor animal threatened to collapse on the ground.
"NOOOOO!" The pirates shouted.
" SODOM ! "
Having seen that his shot worked, a soldier contacted Zero.
"Zero-san! The King Bull has been hit."
"Perfect! Get ready to stop the second one."
" AYE !"
Seeing Sodom on the verge of collapse, Zambe pulled Gomorrah closer to him before signaling the pirates.
"Quickly, come up! Sodom is going to collapse."
"But..." Chopper began. "We need to treat him! He…"
"If you fall with him, everything you have done will have been for nothing." Zambe retorted. "Come up with us."
Suffering martyrdom, Sodom seemed to struggle to remain conscious and allow the time necessary for the pirates to rejoin the Franky Family. Realizing this, his passengers made a choice and quickly jumped towards Gomorrah.
"Sodom...thank you." Chopper cried, jumping as well.
With no one left on his back, the monster prepared to collapse. However, looking in one direction, he saw a soldier preparing a mortar to fire in the direction of Gomorrah.
"Take down the second King Bull."
Realizing that his friend was in danger, Sodom let out another cry, before rushing towards the mortar.
"Sodom?" Zambe wondered.
Moving as fast as he could, the King Bull suddenly coughed up blood, before losing consciousness. Letting his body collapse, he made sure to crush as many soldiers as possible.
"The mortar is ready."
Unfortunately for them, the soldiers in charge of preparing the mortar saw the immense body of Sodom begin to fall towards them.
"AHHHHHHHH!" They shouted, before being crushed.
Being on the back of Gomorrah, the pirates and the Franky Family saw Sodom collapse, while crushing as many soldiers as possible.
"Sodom." Mozu and Kiwi whispered.
"SODOM!" The Franky Family shouted, crying.
Gritting his teeth, Zambe ordered.
"Let's go, Gomorrah! Let's make sure that Sodom's sacrifice is not in vain."
Could only nod, the animal started walking again. However, running behind him, many soldiers wanted to take advantage of him being immobile to attack him.
"Quick! Stop him before he can leave."
Nevertheless, having positioned themselves behind Gomorrah's back, Wiper and Raynare watched as the soldiers rushed towards them.
"Thank you for coming together in such large numbers." Raynare said, creating many spears of light around herself.
"It's easier to kill you all in one hit." Wiper assured, preparing his bazooka.
Trying to stop themselves, the soldiers saw the two powerful attacks flying towards them before colliding with them. Once again, around a hundred soldiers found themselves on the ground.
Unable to erase the smile that crossed his face, Morgans took a multitude of photos, while he observed the fight between Luffy and Tohdoh.
"Sugoi! Beautiful! Amazing! Exactly what I wanted ! BIG NEWS !"
Striking at full speed, while stretching his arms, Luffy attempted to ram Tohdoh's Knightmare, using his speed.
" GATLING ! "
Nevertheless, making his burai's thrusters roar, Tohdoh managed to pass between Luffy's fists, before letting his burai hit him with force. Flying back, Luffy then saw Tohdoh eject a grenade in his direction.
"Try to avoid this."
Immediately, Luffy sucked in a large amount of air before inflating his stomach.
" BALLOON ! "
Heading towards his abdomen, the grenade found itself stuck in his stomach before Luffy ejected it towards Tohdoh.
"I'll give you this back."
However, using its sword, the burai cut the grenade in two and let both parts fall behind it before exploding. Then, rushing towards Luffy, the robot tries to slash him with its saber.
Lowering his head towards the ground, Luffy ejected a large amount of air, which managed to make him fly into the air.
"What?" Tohdoh was surprised, missing his target.
" GUM GUM... " Luffy shouted, clasping both of his feet together. " YARI !"
Seeing him stretch his legs towards it, the burai jumped back. Then, waiting for Luffy's feet to hit the ground, the robot brandished its sword to cut his legs which had no protection. However, anticipating this, Luffy let the rest of his body reach his feet, while stretching one arm backwards, before twirling it.
" RIFLE ! "
Unable to react in time, Tohdoh's burai was hit by Luffy's fist, before retreating several meters. Gritting his teeth, as he tried to regain control of the Knightmare, Tohdoh saw several flashing lights light up, showing that Luffy's attack had just damaged certain parts of his burai.
Not having finished, Luffy stretched his leg, before heading towards Tohdoh.
" WHIP ! "
Unfortunately for him, Tohdoh activated his Harken Slash and barely having time to see it, Luffy felt the blade cut his leg. Screaming in pain, he pulled his leg towards him and found that it was bleeding.
"Mugiwara, admit the obvious." Tohdoh stated. "Unlike me, you are at a disadvantage."
"Grrrr! I don't need to be locked in a can to defeat you." Luffy retorted. "I'm going to slaughter you! And then I'm going to go save Robin."
"It's useless to persevere." Tohdoh retorted, activating the thrusters of his burais.
Then, he ejected another grenade towards Luffy. However, when the explosive hit the ground, it created a flash that blinded Luffy.
"AHHHHHHH!"
Immediately, the burai threw more grenades, which exploded upon hitting their target. And finally, Todoh began firing his machine gun numerous times, hoping to be able to pierce Luffy's body with his seastone bullets.
Finally, firing until it ran out of ammunition, the burai stopped fighting and remained motionless. Simply looking at the huge cloud of smoke in front of him, Tohdoh declared.
"Mugiwara...you fought very well! This is the first time I have seen a human fight so fiercely against a burai! You was a true warrior."
However, just when he thought the fight was over, Tohdoh was surprised to see a figure leave the cloud of smoke, and move at full speed towards him.
" That ... ? "
Not even having time to see him, Tohdoh ended up noticing the presence of Luffy, who had passed in front of him, before clinging to the back of his burai.
"I've got you." Luffy affirmed, while his body was only covered with a few burns.
"What?" Tohdoh was surprised.
"How did he manage to dodge the explosions and move so fast?"
Preferring to worry about that later, Tohdoh moved his burai so that Luffy left his back. Unfortunately, the pirate wrapped his legs around the robot's waist several times, before wrapping his arms around those of the burai in order to immobilize them.
"Now that I've got you, believe me I'm not going to let you go." Luffy assured.
" What are you going to do ? "
Suddenly pulling with all his strength, Luffy forced the burai's arms to turn backwards. Then, as he continued to fire, the pirate heard metallic noises, betraying the fact that the burai was being damaged.
"He's trying to rip my arms off." Tohdoh understood.
Indeed, pulling the arms of the burais back, Luffy tried to destroy them in order to prevent the robot from using its weapons. And already, cracks appeared on the armor that covered its shoulders.
Wanting to avoid this, Tohdoh activated his thrusters and moved his burai in reverse. Going in the direction of the facade of a building, the burai propelled itself there without the slightest hesitation, crushing Luffy against its metal body and the stone wall.
Repeating this several times, the robot tried at all costs to knock Luffy to the ground. However, resisting the impacts, Luffy suddenly began to scream. Then, with a final effort, he managed to pull hard enough to break the arms of the burai.
"He really did it?" Tohdoh was surprised, noticing that his robot had lost its arms.
Finally, letting go of the burai, Luffy placed his foot on his back in order to have good support. Then, he jumped towards the sky again, before raising his leg as high as possible.
" GUM GUM ... "
Raising the head of his burai, Tohdoh saw Luffy stretch his leg so high that his foot disappeared into the sky. However, not going to give up, he ejected a grenade towards Luffy.
"A warrior never gives up."
" ... AXE ! "
Bringing his leg back down, Luffy let his foot hit the grenade and cause it to explode. However, that didn't stop Luffy who managed to crush his foot on the top of the burai's head. Being completely flattened, the head of the burai let out black smoke while short circuits took place inside the robot.
Then, the power of the body forced the entire burai to collapse against the ground, while cracks appeared all around it. Defeated and damaged, the burai remained completely still, even when Luffy landed in front of it.
Catching his breath, the pirate questioned it.
"Do you want some more?"
No response was heard. Realizing that Tohdoh had been defeated, Luffy turned towards the courtyard, before stretching his arms towards the top of the building.
"I've wasted enough time here." He affirmed, propelling himself towards the roof.
A few seconds after he left, a metal plate on the back of the damaged burai began to move. Then, managing to knock her aside, Tohdoh could be seen extracting himself from his Knightmare.
Stunned, the man then dropped to the ground, while he felt a trickle of blood running down his face. Trying to regain his senses, the man tried to understand how he could have lost to Luffy, who had not used any weapon to destroy his burai.
However, far from being angry, Tohdoh couldn't help but smile.
"Mugiwara...you're really not like any other human."
Then, the man stopped smiling before losing consciousness. And it was at this moment that a flash took his picture, before Morgans focused his attention on the damaged burai.
"Great! So this is the new elite group of the World Government! I need to take a photo of this."
"These robots are really very powerful." Phoggy remarked.
"Yes! But Mugiwara managed to defeat it." Megi said.
"Mugiwara..." Morgans repeated.
Starting to think, he declared.
"As soon as we return, we will make an investigation in Alabasta."
"Huh?" His assistants were surprised.
"Strangely, I have always been convinced that Smoker would never have had the strength to defeat Crocodile." Affirmed the journalist. "I never paid attention to Mugiwara! But finally, he might be worth looking into."
But, not forgetting the most important thing, Morgans came out of his hiding place and hastened to find a tall building, where he could have a good view of the roof of the courtyard.
Landing on the roof of the courtyard, Luffy sat down before catching his breath. Luffy still hadn't seen the CP9 agent member. And yet, he was exhausted. He had fought countless soldiers... the burais had nearly killed him with their seastone projectiles and their cannon... and Tohdoh had not been an easy opponent to defeat.
"I need to rest for two minutes."
"Tired already, Mugiwara?"
Surprised, Luffy saw a door appear in front of him, while Blueno came out.
" What ? "
"From what I see, you must have fought very hard to come here! It seemed strange to me that our ranks only had 5 wounded! However..."
Getting into a fighting stance, he assured.
"Whether you beat 5 or 500 men, it makes no difference because you will never be able to defeat me."
"You want to bet?" Luffy asked, getting up.
"What are you waiting for to take down this monster?"
Aiming at Gomorrah, the soldiers saw their projectiles being destroyed, while the monster was protected by the passengers on its back.
"We can't afford to be hit anymore." Gin stated. "We must allow this monster to reach court."
Seeing King Bull pass near a building, Bruno let his puppet touch him.
" ZIP ! "
Immediately, a large zipper appeared before opening, cutting the building in two. Trying to pursue Gomorrah, a group of soldiers were crushed under the rubble, temporarily reducing the number of enemies.
Aiming at soldiers who were on rooftops, Menma created several fireballs, which she threw towards them. A few seconds later, several fires broke out, while flames covered the roofs of some buildings.
Getting ready to use her Perfect Climat-tact to summon lightning, Nami stopped when she heard a noise coming from under her clothes.
"The mini den-den mushi?" She wondered, grabbing the object. "Mushi, Mushi?"
"This is Kokoro." Announced the old lady, who seemed to be completely drunk. "I see that you are still alive! That's already good news! By the way, I forgot to tell you something important."
" What? "
"On Pauly's plans, there is nothing between the courtyard and the tower of justice! To tell you the truth, an enormous precipice separates the two buildings."
"Huh? But how should we get to the Tower of Justice?"
"It's simple! There is a tower on each side of the court and at the top of each of these towers is a lever! If you manage to lower these two levers, it will activate a mechanical bridge, which will allow you to go to the Tower of Justice."
"What?" Zambe was surprised. "How do you know all this?"
"When we were much younger, Tom and I came to fix this drawbridge."
Remembering this, the old lady roared.
"And to thank him, those ungrateful government people executed Tom."
Suddenly, Chimney's voice was heard.
"Miss Pirate, can you hear me?"
"Yes, Chimney?"
"From where I am, I am able to see Mugiwara." Affirmed the child. "He just climbed onto the roof of the courtyard."
"On the roof?" Nami repeated, looking at the building in the distance. "Is he there already?"
"If that's the case, he could have done a better job of cleaning up." Raynare growled, throwing a spear of light at some soldiers.
"Pirates, I can only wish you good luck for the future." Kokoro said. "But I advise you to keep your den-den mushi lit, in case I remember another important detail."
"Okay! Thanks for your help."
Being in thought, Lucy declared.
"As soon as we arrive at the courtyard, we will have to split into two teams in order to find these levers."
" Out of the question. "
Pointing at himself, Zambe assured.
"Let the Franky Family handle this! Just find Mugiwara and go to the Tower of Justice when we have lowered the drawbridge."
"You can count on us." Assured the rest of the Franky Family.
Unfortunately, it was at this moment that Kallen's Guren appeared before Gomorrah. Propelling himself towards him, the Knightmare then extended his metal claw forward.
"Sorry." She apologized to the animal, before touching it.
Immediately, Gomorrah felt electromagnetic waves coursing through his body, hurting the area Kallen touched. Letting out a cry of pain, he deviated from his trajectory, before hitting a building.
"Gomorrah." Zambe shouted. " Calm yourself. "
Unfortunately, seeing the monster hit the building and stop, several soldiers aimed at him with cannons.
" PULL. "
Only able to hold on because Gomorrah suddenly changed direction, the pirates saw the cannonballs hit the body of the King Bulls, further damaging his body.
"We have touched him." The soldiers rejoiced, seeing Gomorrah collapse.
"Zero, the mission has been completed." Kallen affirmed.
"Good job." Zero said. "But be careful! I doubt these pirates will surrender easily."
"Have no fear." Kallen assured him.
Seeing many soldiers surrounding Gomorrah's body, she assured.
"These pirates have nowhere to run."
Then, she vibrated the metal claw of her Guran.
"But if they manage to come to me, I won't hesitate to fight them."
"Capture the pirates." The soldiers shouted.
