Hearing the explosion, Zoro and the others turned towards the Tower of Justice.
" It was what ? "
Looking towards the ocean, Raynare growled.
"They're already here."
Appearing through the Justice Gate, which was now wide open, ten figures could be seen in the distance. All identical, the enormous figures headed at full speed towards Enies Lobby, to begin its destruction.
"Navy ships." The pirates shouted. "It's the Buster Call."
Immediately, Robin felt herself shaking.
" NAMI-SWAN !" Shouted Sanji.
" USOPP ! " Shouted Bruno.
Being still in the Tower of Justice, with Velvet, the two men had seen the upper part of the tower being hit by the cannonball, before crashing towards the precipice. If anyone were inside the top of the building, they would fall with the debris to the depths of the waterfall.
Having jumped as soon as she heard the cannonball, Nami fell on all fours in front of her companions and caught her breath to try to calm down.
"They… They really intend to bomb the island."
"Nami-swan." Sanji cheered.
"Where is Usopp?" Bruno asked.
"Usopp?" Nami wondered, looking around. "Don't tell me… Don't tell me he didn't make the jump in time."
However, a cry of fear was heard. And finally, the quartet saw Sogeking fall before crashing to the ground.
" You are still in life ? "
"Why didn't you catch up with me?" The sniper roared.
Quickly forgetting about it, Velvet looked at the many ships coming towards them.
"I've never seen so many ships! And they're huge! This is the power of the Navy."
Beginning their bombardments, the ships let their cannons target the buildings of Enies Lobby, which were quickly destroyed.
"The bombardment begins." Sanji stated, helping Sogeking up.
"Let's leave quickly." Nami shouted.
But while the redhead was followed by her companions, Velvet looked at the ships for a few more seconds. Seeing them destroy everything, while many soldiers must still be on this island, the demoness affirmed.
"Whether it's in my world or here, things will never change."
Finally, also getting ready to leave the room, she heard a voice.
"I would like to take advantage of your presence here to talk to you! Because this could be the last time I see you."
Surprised, Velvet turned around, and saw Kaku. Having regained consciousness, the man was now sitting up while his hand was pressed against his bloody abdomen.
"Square-man?" Velvet wondered. "I don't have time to fight you! So..."
" I love you. "
Those three words had completely stopped Velvet. Staying still for a few moments, Velvet stared at the man before tilting her head to the side.
" Huh ? "
"I know this may seem very strange." Kaku said, not being able to help but find the situation comical. "The truth is, I don't even know your name! And yet, every time I look at you, I feel strange."
"What are you talking about?" Velvet roared. "Is this a ruse to destabilize me? You're ridiculous."
"I feel pitiful myself." Kaku agreed, continuing to smile at her. "But knowing that the world government could order the arrest of CP9, because of the destruction of Enies Lobby, I prefer to take advantage of this moment to tell you the truth, before it is too late."
Showing a gentle smile, he assured.
"Your beauty won me over and even though we only met for a few minutes and barely spoke to each other, I understood at first glance that you seemed to me to be a woman different from the others! And even though you are a pirate as well as a demon, I can't help but have feelings for you! And I assure you I'm sincere when I say I love you."
Listening to him, Velvet didn't know how to react to this statement.
"You... You're completely crazy." She roared, pointing her finger at him. "You dare to make that kind of statement at a time like this? Your fight with Zoro must have derailed your mind! In any case, I don't like you! You're not at all the kind of man I like and that ... "
Immediately, Luffy's face appeared in her mind, and the next moment, Kaku was surprised to see Velvet banging her head against a wall several times, as if she wanted to push all her thoughts out of her mind.
" Are you okay ? "
Now having a mark on her forehead, Velvet groaned.
"I advise you to erase all the feelings you have for me! I'm not interested in falling in love with someone anyway."
And finally, Velvet left the room, leaving Kaku behind. Collapsing from exhaustion, Kaku lay still and just stared at the sky above him. Thinking again of his life as a carpenter, he murmured.
"In the end, I was the biggest loser."
Seeing a building explode not far from them, the Enies Lobby soldiers continued to flee towards the main gate.
"The Buster Call has begun."
"We must flee urgently."
Finally, arriving at the entrance to the island, thousands of soldiers stopped and stared at the ocean before them.
"We have finally arrived at the entrance to the island."
"But what should we do?"
Seeing no ship that could save them, the soldiers lost hope.
"We're really going to die here."
Then turning to the Black Knights, several men asked.
" What does that mean ? "
"I thought you had a plan."
"Were they lies?"
Remaining calm, the Black Knights only stared at Zero, who was walking towards the ocean. Finally, grabbing his den-den mushi, he declared.
"You can come pick us up."
Immediately, the water in front of him began to move, before a huge shadow could be seen beneath the ocean's surface. Astonished, the soldiers uttered cries of panic, seeing a gigantic figure lifting thousands of liters of water, before appearing in front of them. Shaped like an aircraft carrier, it was a huge submarine that appeared in front of Enies Lobby.
" What is ... ? "
" A boat ? "
"No! It's a huge submarine."
"Here is the Black Knights' means of transportation." Zero assured. "The Black Geass!"
Appearing in port of the Black Geass, a woman was smoking a long pipe, while staring at the group.
"Zero-san, I heard that Enies Lobby was attacked! That doesn't matter to me! However, what bothers me is knowing that many burais as well as the Guren were heavily damaged! I hope these are just stupid rumors."
"I'll talk to you about that later." Lelouch retorted. "Hurry up and let us up."
Letting out a sigh, Rakshata grabbed her own Den-Den Mushi before issuing an order. Then, the soldiers saw a gangway leaving the Black Geass before stopping in front of them, allowing them to board the craft.
"Hurry up." Zero ordered.
Seeing this, the soldiers shouted with joy, before running towards the bridge.
"We will survive."
"Black Knights are the best."
"I don't know how to thank you, Zero-san."
For his part, remaining motionless, Ohgi saw the Navy ships approach the island and begin to destroy everything.
"If Zero hadn't planned this escape plan, these guys would have had no qualms about bombing this place and killing us all."
Clenching his fist, he growled.
"Why must there always be people who think they are gods and who decide to sacrifice people with a simple snap of their fingers? How is that justice."
"Have no fear, Ohgi."
Staying close to him, the Black Knights members turned to Zero, who affirmed.
"'At the moment, we seem inactive and insignificant! And that is probably why the world government is not trying to fight us! However, be sure that one day, we will show this world what is true justice."
Letting the soldiers climb onto the boat first, he finally gets on the gangplank, before affirming.
"One day we will be the heroes of this world."
Staring at him in awe, his subordinates followed him. And behind them, Diethard began to imitate them, while Phoggy pulled Morgans with all his strength to force him to get on the boat.
"Morgans-san, we have to leave urgently."
"NOOOOO!" The albatross-man shouted, photographing the damage caused by the cannonballs. "I want to stay and take the best photos possible! Is Enies Lobby being destroyed? BIG NEWS!"
"But we are going to die."
"I would rather die as a journalist than run away like a coward."
"We are not going to run." Diethard retorted.
Surprised, Morgans heard him say.
"As promised, we are going to a place where we can see an incredible sight! We are going to the Bridge of Hesitation."
Hearing a cannonball explode not far from them, Bellamy became frightened.
"What are you waiting for to leave?"
Still remaining motionless, Karue looked towards the Tower of Justice, while he remained inside the courtyard, with the remaining pokemon. In the distance, the giants had left without them, since they had to succeed at all costs in capturing a ship.
Feeling too injured to walk on his own, Bellamy lay on Karue's body, grunting.
"I don't want to die here! So hurry up and leave! Please, someone come and help me."
The only response was the sound of footsteps. Then, the blond saw Pouky coming towards him, although it had been forgotten here.
"I'm Pouky! Do you want to be my friend?"
"WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE?"
Finally calming down, the blonde saw the pokemon staring at the building, while they seemed to refuse to leave without their masters. Realizing that there was no point in trying to reason with them, he ended up shouting.
"GHOST! Heal me and I'll help you get to the other building."
"Hatte?" The pokemon was surprised.
"If you don't want to leave here then I prefer to help you find your masters as quickly as possible so that I can then escape from this cursed island."
Looking at each other again, the pokemons hesitated for a few moments, while hearing the explosions around them. Finally, having made her choice, Hatterene turned to Bellamy before aiming her appendage towards him.
Hatterene use HEAL PULSE.
Feeling the attack hit him, Bellamy immediately felt a sense of well-being. Within seconds, he felt his body feel much better, as he was able to place one foot on the ground and start walking. Certainly, some of his pain was still present, but it was much more bearable than before.
" Great. "
"Hatte!" Cried the pokemon, to remind him that he had to keep his promise.
Honestly, the pirate wanted to flee as quickly as possible and leave Enies Lobby. However, in view of the cataclysm that befell the island, it was best that Bellamy did not try to run and get to the main gate on foot. He was almost certain to get hit by a cannonball.
Therefore, perhaps it was better for him to try to find Luffy and let the pirates protect him. Finally, he grabbed Hatterene, before turning her legs into springs. Then, leaning on the ground, he stared at the tower of justice.
" SPRING ! "
Relaxing his springs, he propelled himself at full speed out of the courtyard and found himself above the building with Hatterene. Surprised at first, the pokemon turned to its companions and helped them come with them.
Hatterene use PSYCHIC.
Feeling their bodies being controlled, the pokemon and Carue's feet left the ground, before starting to fly above the precipice. Dropping down, Bellamy managed to land on the strip of land surrounding the building, before being imitated by the pokemon.
"We succeeded." The pirate affirmed.
Immediately, the pokemon around him cheered. However, they were all surprised, hearing a robotic dog screaming.
" Pouky ! Pouky ! Pouky ! "
"YOU AGAIN?" Bellamy roared.
But quickly forgetting it, he turned towards the tower.
"We have to find the others before this tower is destroyed."
Using her scent, Eevee sniffed the surroundings. Spotting Raynare's scent, the pokemon began to circle around the tower and moved towards the back of the building, which was the closest place to the Bridge of Hesitation.
But while Bellamy and the others started to follow her, Pouky stayed behind them. Using its many sensors, the robot dog began to run inside the Tower of Justice. Then, spotting several presences, it saw Sanji's group leaving the ground floor of the tower to rush towards the underground passage.
"Pouky!" Said the robot, before following them.
Rushing down the stairs, Nami and the others managed to leave the basement of the Justice Tower and were now running inside the long underground corridor allowing them to get to the Bridge of Hesitation.
"We are the last ones." Sanji affirmed. "It's all about being quick! I'm sure Robin-chwan is eager for me to save her."
"Instead of thinking about this kind of bullshit, try to think of a plan, so we can get off this island." Bruno roared.
"I thought the others were supposed to steal a Navy ship." Velvet remarked.
"Even if they do, I fear we will be unable to reach them." Bruno retorted. "They will be able to escape but we will be forced to find another way to get out of here."
"I feel like I'm in hell." Sogeking said, as he was carried away by Sanji and Bruno.
"After everything we've been through, there's no way we're going to get killed." Nami assured. "And I know we can count on Luffy to get us out of this bad situation."
Having been in this same corridor for a long time, Gin, Lucy and Wiper had managed to join Kogoro, who was running with Chopper clinging to her hat.
"HAHAHAHA! This race made me look 20 years younger." Assured the old woman.
Looking much less amused by the situation, Wiper looked behind him, while asking.
"Is it just me or am I hearing lots of explosions?"
"The Buster Call must have started." Gin stated. "Damn it! I never thought the Navy could destroy a city as important as Enies Lobby! We were right to leave this place."
"Even though we are safe in this corridor, we are still unable to leave this island." Lucy retorted. "On top of that, we don't know where Luffy is! Could he still be fighting Lucci?"
"If that's the case, we'll just have to help him defeat that alley cat and then we'll leave here with Robin" Wiper assured. "After such chaos, only shame can be felt by the world government."
"Eventually, our crew will become invincible." Lucy affirmed.
However, the blonde and Gin were surprised when they saw Wiper stop.
" Huh ? "
Now looking in front of him, the Shandian remained motionless.
"Hey! What are you doing?" Kogoro asked.
"Mugiwara left that way." Chimney assured, pointing towards the end of the corridor.
" Meow. "
Continuing to remain motionless, Wiper had stopped hearing the explosions caused by the Buster Call. Instead, another noise was heard in front of the group. A noise that was getting louder and louder.
" What is happening ? "
"What?" His companions were surprised, looking in front of them.
Finally, also hearing this strange noise, the group ended up screaming in fear, seeing a huge quantity of water entering the corridor and coming towards them at full speed, like a tidal wave.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Seeing the city begin to be destroyed, Robin felt shivers run through her body as it awakened her worst traumas.
"Bus...Buster Call." She whispered, falling to her knees.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Franky asked. "Now is not the time to be afraid."
Not seeming to hear him, Robin placed her hands on her head, before declaring.
"Everything is going to be destroyed! Everything is going to disappear."
Feeling the tremors caused by the explosions, Zoro growled.
"And these are the guys who dare to call pirates a scourge? They are destroying a city without the slightest hesitation."
"I don't know whether to laugh or be angry about that." Raynare admitted.
Suddenly, Spandam's laughter was heard.
"HAHAHAHA! Admire the power of the Navy! It's no wonder it's the World Government's strongest ally."
Pointing at Enies Lobby, he assured.
"Look what's happening out there! Without a doubt, I'll bet your companions are getting blown to pieces! For ten warships, you'll never get off this island alive."
Then, watching the ships pass by the bridge without trying to destroy it, the man raised his arms and behaved as if he were a deity.
"My father told me so! During a Buster Call, it is obvious that a person as important as me will never be threatened! I am untouchable! HAHAHAHA!"
"Huh?" Zoro said. "Do you believe that's true?"
"I doubt the Navy would spare an idiot like him." Raynare retorted. "If you ask me, Robin is way too important for the Navy to kill her instead of trying to recapture her."
"In any case, this is good news for us." Zoro said. "As long as we stay here, we'll be temporarily safe! In that case, go make sure the others are safe and that they've all left the tower."
"I'm getting tired of you using my ability to fly to ask me anything and everything." Raynare growled, before spreading her wings.
Then taking flight, she flew towards the Tower of Justice, while leaving Franky and Zoro to fight against the last soldiers who were on the bridge. Seeing her leave, Spandam retorted.
"HAHAHAHA! There's no point! Before long, every single one of you will be dead! And after that, I'll finally become the greatest hero in history! HAHAHAHA! Your pathetic existence ends here, you stupid pirates. "
"When are you going to learn to shut up?"
Surprised, Spandam saw Franky walking towards Funkfreed's charred body.
"Spandam...you are truly beyond redemption! You still have the same stupid face you had when you came to destroy the life I cherished in Water-7! Right now, I feel rage rising inside me when I hear your voice! Your voice and your stupid face remind me of the fact that I couldn't save Tom! When he needed me, my weakness prevented me from helping him! If I had been stronger , I would like to believe that he would still be alive! However, I know that I didn't lack strength! What I did not have was Mugiwara's determination."
"Determination?" Spandam wondered. "Don't tell me you respect that pirate."
"And why not?" Franky asked. "Since I was a child, people have considered the World Government as an invincible organization and feared its power! And yet, today, a group of pirates decided to face this organization and they did not hesitated to declare war on him! Thanks to this alone, Mugiwara managed to shatter all the myths that surrounded this island and to crack the honor of the world government."
Smiling then, Franky affirmed.
"No one doesn't find that incredible! And it makes me want to imitate them."
And to prove it, Franky grabbed Funkfreed's trunk. Then, using his Herculean strength, the cyborg rushed towards Spandam, while pulling the elephant's body behind him.
"AHHHHHH!" Spandam feared. " What are you doing ? "
"I never forgot what you did to Tom and I always prayed that I could avenge him and blow your skull off." Franky roared, lifting his body from Funkfreed, before violently beating him down on Spandam.
Seeing this, Zoro couldn't help but whistle in admiration.
"I must admit that I would rather see him fight with us than against us."
Then, turning towards Robin, he assured.
"You have nothing to fear, Robin! We are here to protect you."
But despite this, Robin couldn't help but tremble. Thinking back to all the misfortunes that befell her the day Ohara was destroyed, Robin felt her trauma growing stronger and stronger.
Unable to calm her fear and trembling, she seemed on the verge of losing her mind, while explosions could be heard in the distance.
" Stop ! Please, stop ! Please ... STOOOOOPPPPP ! "
Starting to scream, Robin thought she was going crazy. However, a pair of arms ended up embracing him while a comforting voice assured him.
"You have nothing to fear, Robin."
