Chapter 03

Soon the Winx were called into the office with the Mini Trix. There they find Faragonda and Griselda along with a tall pale green skinned woman with purple hair and wearing a long dark purple dress.

The green woman coldly glances at the three witchlings causing them to hide behind the Winx. She raises a brow before turning back to Faragonda. "Are you sure this is them, Faragonda?"

The headmistress of Alfea nods. "From what we have gathered, Griffin. There's no doubt these children are indeed the Trix."

Griffin turns back to the hiding Trix. "Come here, girls. I want a better look at you three."

With a little assurance from Bloom, Flora, and Stella, the witchlings walk up to the witch.

The Headmistress of Cloud Tower lowers herself to be eye leveled with the three and refers to each of them. "Icy, Darcy, Stormy. I had no idea that you three were adorable at this age. As a witch, I should say it's revolting."

The young Icy tilts her head. "You talk like you know us?"

"Right?" the teacher stands up. "Your memories are gone just as your time has. At one point, I did know you girls. But that was a long time ago," she looks away from the girls, up at the Winx, then back at Faragonda. "These three had no home at this age and no family to go back to," there was a round of gasps from the fairies and then Darcy starts crying. Instinctually, Stella hugs her to comfort the little Illusion Witchling. "Before they arrived at Cloud Tower, the Trix were in the foster system. I saw the talent they possessed and offered them a place at my school. I'm sorry, girls. As much as I want to help you, I cannot."

Icy sniffles. "S-so, there's no place for us to go?" she is then embraced by Bloom.

"It will be alright, Icy," she tells the ice witchling. "I promise we'll figure this out."

Faragonda raises from her desk and walks over to her window. "There's not much for us to do other than find a good home for them," she turns back to the Winx. "Until then. I know that this is a lot to ask of you, girls. But would you be willing to watch over them for the time being?"

Flora nods and Bloom tells the teachers. "We'd love to."

"There's just one problem," Stella moves away from Darcy, who immediately runs up behind her.

Faragonda asks. "What might that be?"

"Well, look at them?" she gestures to the witchlings. "The only things they have are the clothes they're wearing right now. The same ones that they had when they fell into the Tears of the Black Willow Tree. Not to mention the little incident from this morning," at that last comment, Stormy sobs a little as Flora comforts the child. "And I doubt our dorm is properly equipped to watch over three little girls," the sun princess turns to her friends. "You know what this calls for girls?"

The Winx look among themselves, smiling before shouting, "Shopping spree!"

.oOo.

The six teens and three little girls are now at the main mall at Magix. They make a beeline straight to the children's clothing store. Finding them several necessities. From everyday casual clothes to pajamas.

There were a few times that Stella grabbed some sets of clothing and practically threw Darcy into the changing room.

"Oh, don't you just look adorable!" the sun fairy cooed at the Illusion Witchling when she left the changing room.

"You really think so?" Darcy tugs at the purple skirt.

"Of course, I do. If there's one thing I'd never lie about, it's fashion," she boasts. But when the fairy did not receive a reaction from the child, she looks over to see that the witchling is eyeing a purple scarf. Smiling, Stella grabs the scarf and wraps it around Darcy's neck. "I think this is probably my favorite. You know why?" her smile widens as the witchling looks up at her. "You picked it out yourself," at this, Darcy embraces the princess who was stunned at first, but smiles as she hugs back.

As they approached the checkout counter, Flora turns to the Morphix fairy. "Aisha, would you mind watching Stormy for a moment?" the flower fairy hands over her credit card. "There's something else I need to grab."

"Sure thing, Flora."

Flora then leans towards the Storm Witchling. "I'll be back, Storm Cloud," and kiss the girl on the forehead.

Stormy sadly waves goodbye as Aisha pats her on the back.

"Don't worry, Stormy," the fairy of waves reassures. "She'll be back."

Everyone is now at the toy store, intending to buy somethings that would keep the girls busy so that the Winx can do some schoolwork in between watching them.

"I don't want any of these things!" Icy whined. "They're for babies."

"Icy?" Bloom lowers herself to the child. "I'm sure there's something here you would like. If you would just look around."

"No!" the witchling stomps her foot and turns away from the fairy. "The only thing I want is to—" the child stops mid-sentence as something finally caught her attention. Icy squealed as she runs up to a pile of stuffed animals and pulls out one that resembles a white cat with black spots. "I want it, I want it!" she hugs it before realizing how childish she is being. "I, uh, mean it's okay I guess," she turns away with her face visibly blushing, holding the toy away from her.

Bloom giggles at this. "It's okay to like something even if it seems too young for you. I still have some toys at home that I can't find myself to get rid of," the fire fairy glances at the snow leopard. "Do you want to name him?"

Icy holds the animal up. "I think I'll call him Snowy."

"What a wonderful name, Icy."

Flora shows up carrying a bag, "I was wondering where you all ran off to?" Stormy drops the doll she had and ran up to the nature fairy to give her a big hug. "Miss me, Storm Cloud?"

"A-a little," Stormy then glances at the bag Flora brought with her. "What's that?"

The Nature Fairy just pushes it behind her back. "it's nothing you have to worry about right now, Sweetie. She looks up at Aisha approaching them with the same doll that the witchling dropped. "What a lovely doll," she takes it. "Is this the one you want?" she receives shy nod from the child.

.oOo.

The Winx and Trix eventually return to the dorm with all the stuff they bought. With Stella having more for Darcy.

The Sun Princess turns to the three witchlings. "Now, with the fact that your beds won't be in until tomorrow, you'll have to settle for the couch again," she notices the children sadden.

Bloom sees this to. "Or perhaps we could share our beds for the night."

Stormy was the only one who did not seem fond of this idea. Flora steps up to the little girl. "Don't worry, Storm Cloud. How about we get you ready for bed?" without waiting for an answer, the Nature Fairy picks Stormy up, grabs two of the bags, and heads to her and Bloom's room. She sets the witchling down as well as the bags. "Now, before we chose what to wear to bed, there's something we need to discuss first," she then pulls out a small box.

The witchling's eyes widen for a moment before lowering them to the ground. "You, you want me to wear a diaper?"

"No, not a diaper. Training pants," Flora corrects. "It would only be temporary. Lots of kids your age have this problem and grow out of it. And until you do, you'll have to wear these to bed. Do you understand, Storm Cloud?" she receives a not from the child. "Okay then. Now," she reaches for the other bag. "What do you want to wear to bed tonight?"

.oOo.

Bloom sits on her bed, combing through Icy's hair. The Ice Witchling wearing pale blue pajama pants and white t-shirt. And Flora watches over Stormy wearing a dark red onesie while playing with her doll.

Stella soon walks in, "Hey, Bloom!" she has Darcy by the hand. The little witchling has a long purple nightgown. "Can I barrow your storybook again? Darcy wants me to read her another one Story."

The Fire Fairy smiles as she reaches for the said book. "Here," Bloom gets off the bed and hands the book to Darcy. "You can have it, Darcy."

Darcy's eyes widen as she looks between Bloom and Stella. Stella nods and the Illusion Witchling grabs the book. "Thank you!"

The redhead teen giggles. "You're welcome."

"Now, Darcy," Stella grabs her attention. "What story do you want to hear tonight?" she asks as they leave the room and the witchling starts turning the pages.

"This one," the child holds up the book at the page with a mermaid and a fairy.

"That looks like it would be a good one."

.oOo.

Later that night.

Flora is sound asleep with Stormy cuddling next to her and Icy has snuggled herself with Bloom. Everyone is sound asleep.

Even Kiko is in dreamland. At least until he hears Icy mumbling in her sleep. The rabbit had hoped that with the stuffed snow leopard that she is currently cuddling would help her sleep. He creeps up to the girl and is suddenly grabbed by her and is held tight.

Kiko sighs as he notices the white-haired child calming down.
