Roy, Hokuto, and Yaiba commanded their aces in unison, who proceeded to slash the monster's owned by the Security Officers. The three men were sent flying through the air before landing on the ground.
"Alright, that's three more down!" Yaiba grinned.
"Compared to the Obelisk Force, these guys are nothing!" Hokuto shouted.
"Yeah, and it looks like everyone else is having an easy time too." Roy noted, causing his comrades to take a look around.
"Show them the power of our bonds! Zushin Punch!" Taro, Yoshizo, and Jinbei shouted at the same time as Zushin the Sleeping Giant punched through a Goyou Emperor, sending their opponent flying through the air.
"I'm sorry, but my Enjoy Dueling prevents me from holding back! Cardian - Amenshiko, attach him directly! ENJOY!" Tokumatsu roared as his warrior slashed down on an officer.
"Go, Thunder Unicorn! Thunder Spear!"
"Get him, Voltic Bicorn! Voltic Rush!"
"Do it, Lightning Tricorn! Lightning Impact!"
Andre, Breo and Jean commanded their ace monsters, who shredded through three Goyou monsters and depleted the life points of three officers.
"Bee Force - Hama the Crushing Bow, end this duel! Revolution Arrow!" Shinji roared as his monster fired an arrow that stabbed through a Goyou Predator, causing a powerful explosion that consumed an officer. The purple and blue-haired man victoriously screamed out before turning to the three nearby Lancers. "Hey, you three! We've already defeated most of Roget's forces out here, so you guys should press onward into the base!"
"Are you sure?" Yaiba questioned.
"Don't worry, we'll be just fine out here! Go on and assist your friends!" Shinji reassuringly yelled, giving the three a thumbs up. The three boys looked at each other before nodding and turning back to the revolution leader.
"Keep kicking ass, Shinji!" Hokuto shouted at the man. The three boys then turned towards the large building and began to run.
Shinji smiled as the three teens ran before turning to three more approaching officers.
"Alright...who's next?!"

Yugo is riding his D-Wheel down a Duel Lane at night, the neon signs and billboards of City aglow with life as he passes by. Out on a boat in the sea, Yuri faces Academia, arms visibly crossed.

I Gotta Crush and Paint Away
The Lancers appear standing in front of the LDS logo. From left to right; Hokuto, Masumi, Yaiba , and Roy stand back-to-back, ready for battle, Yaiba holding his signature wooden katana over his shoulder.
The Anguish Of My Past For Sake Of My Future
Sawatari stands self-assure with a proud grin on his face. Yugo leans on his D-Wheel, sporting a big friendly grin. Rin was on the opposite side of the D-Wheel, sternly staring at the boy for not taking things seriously. Serena holds herself ready for battle with the faintest hint of longingness on her face.
Until My Life Comes To An End
Yuya and Yuzu stand close to each other, ready to face the coming battles together. Gongenzaka stands behind of the Standard Pair, arms folded with a steadfast gaze. Next to them is Crow, who has a battle-ready smirk on his face.
I'm Gonna Fight To Tear Apart That Destiny
Yuto, Ruri, and Shun stand side by side with battle-hardened expressions. But unbeknownst to Shun, Yuto and Ruri's hands were interlocked.

Rightmost is Sora, who is consumed by the shadow and looking away from the group. But two hands reach out to him, causing him to turn around towards the light. Sora smiles, taking the hands of Yuya and Yuzu before leaping out of the shadows with a childish grin.
Until You Find The Answer
Cut to the Standard, Xyz and Synchro counterparts together on a grassy hill, gazing at the starry night sky. Yuzu and Ruri rest their heads on Yuya and Yuto's shoulders respectively, who in turn drape an arm around them. Rin does the same with Yugo, who blushes redder than Yuya's hair. It is a touching scene….
You're Looking For!
… the screen falls to reveal the Fusion Counterparts falling into darkness. Yuri grins wickedly as his eyes are whited out by a violet glow. Behind him is the shadow of an older boy, face obscured with a monstruous, inhuman smile on his face. Above him, Serena holds out her hand, desperately trying to reach her former friend. The gem on her bracelet shines like a star, cutting through the miasma that surrounds them. Behind her is the golden spirit of an older girl, trying to reach out to the figure behind Yuri as tears flow. The older teens vanish as the Fusion Counterparts' silhouettes turn to black and a large, sinister pair of draconic eyes open wide behind them.
I'll Challenge All My Limits
Crow, Kiryu, the Black Rose Witch, and Jack race in a line on the highway and call forth their dragons; Black-Feather, Infernity Void, Black Rose, and Red Daemon's.
Knowing This Could Be My Only Chance Now
Yuzu and Serena stand together striking their signature Fusion Summon poses. From behind the two, Prodigy Mozart and Cat Dancer swirl into the fusion vortex and become Moonlight Serenade.
To Overcome This Fate That's Come Over Me
Ruri and Rin stand side by side with Assembly Nightingale and Winter Bell in front of them, looking ready for battle. But behind them are the looming shadow of their respective Fusion monsters; Independent Nightingale and Crystal Bell.
The Ending Of This Story
Yuto stands alone on a battle field with explosions occurring in the background. Yuto lets out a primal scream as Dark Rebellion Apocalypse Dragon roars, causing the field to erupt in flames.
I Will Hold It Close As I Wonder So Aimlessly
Yuya and Yugo closely race next to each other on the highway as Odd Eyes and Clear Wing clash in the sky. Yuya and Yugo scream in unison as their dragons evolve into Odd Eyes Wing and Crystal Clear Wing before continuing their arial battle. As the Accel Synchro monster begins to gain an advantage, Enlightenment Paladin descends from the sky while enveloped in a brilliant light. As Odd Eyes Wing is briefly knocked away, the evolved blue and gold paladin strikes Crystal Clear Wing's head with it's majestic blade, while Yuya and Yugo can't help but grin in excitement.
Into This New World
The scene changes to Yuya standing beneath a blue landscape. A pendulum swings above him, draw arcs of light across the sky. Yusho's face is shown over the center of the arcs, smiling down at his son with pride.

Yuya reaches his hand out as the image of his father fades. He is shown to have a look of surprise on his face...

…which quickly turns into a triumphant smile!
(Instrumental)
The screen flashes to a beaten Crow standing across from a strange looking Jack Atlas, which clearly wasn't the real one, who had a variant of Red Daemon's on his field. The scene shifts to Yuto standing against Kiryu's Chaos Void Dragon with Vengeful Paladin on his field, who readied it's sword for battle. The scene changes to Yuzu and Rin struggling against the berserk Black Rose Witch who wore a cracked mask. Darkness Rose Death Dragon let out a violent screech as Prodigy Mozart and Winter Bell protectively flew in front of the two girls. The scene switches to Yuya and Yugo teaming up against the mastermind himself, Roget. A large machine-like titan which was shrouded in darkness towered over Odd Eyes and Clear Wing. At the two counterparts' command, the dragons charged forward before combining into Odd Eyes Wing Dragon while the titan lunged it's fist forward. As the two collided, a white flash engulfs the screen. The song ends with the Lancers on the highway (now including Crow, Ruri, Rin, and Sora) in the Synchro Dimension, looking up at the screen with the three Yu-boys in the center, with each of their eyes flashing a red, indigo, and cyan glow respectively.
"We're close."
The two Akaba siblings, as well as Jack Atlas, made their way through the halls of the Security Bureau with eager looks across their faces. As they moved, Reiji was actively looking down at his duel disk's screen, tracking their location.
"By the sounds of the chaos outside, it appears that your Lancers managed to shut off the shield generators." Jack spoke, earning a nod from Reiji as a response.
"There was never a doubt in my mind that they'd fail. The growth they've all went through during their time in this dimension should be enough to dispel any of Roget's forces." Reiji told the former king, causing him to raise his brow.
"So that's another reason you came to this dimension, besides trying to form an alliance. You wanted to give your Lancers more experience as well as force them to improve before encountering Academia, right?" Jack asked.
"Yes, that's correct." Reiji nodded before continuing. "The ability of duelists of the duelists in Standard are drastically less than those of the other dimensions, simply because of our much more recent exposure to Extra Deck monsters."
"It appears that this "training trip" of yours has yielded success." Jack noted, causing the silver-haired teen to begin to think.
"...I believe so." Reiji nodded before pushing up his glasses. "Yuya Sakaki, Yugo, and Serena have displayed the most growth out of the members of the Lancers. Shingo Sawatari, Yaiba Todo, and Masumi Kotsu have performed some impressive feats that displayed their improvement. Our new members, Crow Hogan and Sora Shiun'in, appear to be on a similar level as Shun Kurosaki, meaning our ranks have grown considerably stronger."
"That analysis seems accurate compared to what I've witnessed with my own eyes. However, there seems to be quite a few names you didn't mention." Jack realized.
"While it is true that some of our members grew in strength, it's equally true that most of our members were given a grim reality check. I believe that an entire team of Lancers being wiped out by a single duelists served as a major wake up call for those apart of that team and even those who weren't."
"You're talking about Kiryu's duel..." Jack trailed off.
"While Sawatari Shingo managed to show off his strength in a later duel against an Academia Elite, I believe that loss will push Hokuto Shijima and Roy Jishaku to improve their dueling so that something like that never happens again. After all, Kiryu Kyosuke's strength is around the level of some Elites Class soldiers, so being completely overpowered by someone on the level of future enemies will spur them towards growth. Tsukikage Fuma is a duelist who has held back his talents in order to perform certain tasks that I've requested him too, so I'm confident in his unrestricted abilities."
"What about Yuzu Hiragi and the girls that look like her?"
"...While I already mentioned Serena, Ruri Kurosaki and Rin are wild cards at the moment. I wasn't able to see them duel, but if they have as much potential as their other counterparts, I'm sure they'll be fine additions to the Lancers. Yuzu Hiragi's dueling has proven still be effective, but it seems she hit some form of plateau. The same can be said for Yuto. Although he's an extremely strong duelist, he's had to deal with some mental obstacles which may have allowed his counterparts to catch up to him. However, I believe that both Yuto and Yuzu Hiragi will soon push past their issues and develop even further."
"That's good. Both duelists displayed a great amount of potential from what I witnessed, so I'm sure they'll continue to grow into even finer soldiers. And what about this one?" Jack asked while gesturing to Reira, causing the child to blush.
"Reira...has the most potential out of all the Lancers." Reiji said, surprising his younger sibling.
"Brother...!" Reira uttered before smiling.
"Well, it looks like we're here." Jack told the two siblings as they reached the end of the hallway, leading to a large double door. "Are you two ready?"
"Yes. Let's go." Reiji replied while Reira nodded in agreement.
"Good." Jack smirked before kicking down the door and rushing into the room, with the Akabas following him.
Entering the control room, the three looked around to find no one present.
"Well...I expected a bit more Security...or any at all for a matter of fact." Jack admitted.
"Stay on guard. That man isn't above tricking us into a false sense of security." Reiji told the former king, who nodded in return.
"Right you are, Reiji Akaba."
Out of thin air, Roget appeared in front of the group, startling Reira and angering Jack.
"How did you-"
"Greetings. It's been a while since we've seen each other in person." Roget told the leader of the Lancers, ignoring Jack's attempt of questioning.
"So, you came here to protect this room on your own?" Reiji asked in suspicion.
"Of course I did, holding down this room is key to my victory. And you know what they say, if you want the job done right, you have to do it yourself." Roget smirked before activating his Academia duel disk.
"I'm taking this duel." Jack grunted before activating his own duel disk.
"I accept your challenge, Jack Atlas. Follow me over here, I have something else planned for you, Reiji Akaba." Roget sneered before walking to the other side of the room.
"Something's not right about him being here...this may very well be a trap. Reira, help make sure Roget is defeated." Reiji told his younger sibling, who seemed surprised.
"Y-You want me to duel with the former king?" Reira asked in surprise.
"You can keep up, I know you can. I'll handle whatever Roget has planned, so just make sure that you defeat him. Yuya and everyone else are counting on us." Reiji reminded the child.
Reira's eyes softened as he remembered the time he spent with Yuya during the beginning of their time in this dimension, including the time they dueled together against Security. He had to make sure their efforts aren't for nothing.
"...Ok. I'll do my best." Reira nodded.
"Jack, do you mind if Reira joins you?" Reiji asked.
"...No. Just don't drag me down, kid." Jack warned the child before walking towards Roget.
"R-Right!" Reira nodded before following the blond man.
'It seems like he's developed more bonds which is helping him rebuild his sense of self. It's only a matter of time before he becomes an even greater force to be reckoned with.' Reiji thought to himself as he watched his younger sibling walk away.
"Reiji Akaba, your opponent will be me."
The silver-haired teen's ears perked up as he heard that eerily familiar voice. The demeanor of the voice was much different than the tone the man gave off before, causing Reiji to take a better look at the person walking towards him.
"You're...!" Reiji's eyes briefly widened as a large man in a black coat walked forward. The man looked up at Reiji, revealing a pair of glowing red eyes.
After briefly following the man in purple, Reira and Jack stood in front of him with their duel disks activated.
FIELD SPELL: CROSSOVER
The blue platforms materialized on the field, causing Roget to shake his head in response.
"You know, I'm not a fan of these Action Duels you Lancers drag your opponent's into." Roget said before snapping his fingers.
Suddenly, walls appeared around the field three, trapping them in a confined space. The walls then began to glow, displaying colorful lights while the platforms from Crossover began to glitch. Reira gasped as he realized what was going on before looking at his duel disk.

ACTION FIELD DISABLED
"Is this supposed to scare us?!" Jack questioned in annoyance.
"Not at all, just simply evening the playing field. Now, where were we?"
"DUEL!"
JACK: 4000 LP / REIRA: 4000 LP vs ROGET: 4000 LP
"The first turn is mine." Reira quietly spoke before grabbing a card from his hand. "From my hand, I summon Film Magician."
Reira's signature magician appeared on the field.
Film Magician (0/0) LVL: 1
"Film Magician can't be destroyed by battle. And when attacked, its ATK becomes equal to the attacking monster's ATK." Roget explained before smirking. "I watched your previous duel with those three stooges that I hired to protect me. You won't be able to catch me off guard like you did with them."
"I set a card facedown, turn end." Reira concluded, ignoring his opponent's words.
"My turn! While my opponent controls a monster while I do not, I can special summon Vice Dragon with its ATK and DEF halved!"
A purple dragon with green wings appeared and flew beside Jack.

"Then, I summon the Tuner monster, Creation Resonator!" Jack shouted as the blue fiend appeared.

"I tune the Level 3 Creation Resonator to the Level 5 Vice Dragon! The King's determination is conceived with a crimson blade ablaze fires of red! Appear from beyond the burning heat waves! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level 8! The Burning Fierce God, Crimson Blader!" Jack shouted as a new warrior appeared on his field. The warrior had red armor and carried two long swords. The warrior also had a green cape hanging from its waist and had blue armor covering its face.

"I set three cards facedown, turn end." Jack concluded.
"My turn! I activate the Continuous Spell, Antique Gear Fortress. Then, I activate the Spell Card, Antique Gear Catapult. While I control no monsters, I can destroy a card face up on my field. I destroy Antique Gear Fortress." Roget explained as his Continuous Spell bursted. "Then, I get to special summon an Antique Gear monster from my deck ignoring summoning conditions! Come forth, Antique Gear Golem!"

"A 3000 ATK monster from the deck..." Jack said in a surprised tone.
"At this moment, Antique Gear Fortress' effect activated! After being destroyed, I can special summon an Antique Gear monster from my hand. Come, Antique Gear Wyvern!"

"Wyvern's effect! I add Antique Gear Hound Dog from my deck to my hand! Then, I'll summon it!"

"Hound Dog's effect inflicts 600 damage if the opponent controls a monster. Take this, Jack Atlas!" Roget shouted as his monster belted a blast of fire at the blonde man.

"Hound Dog's effect! Since I control another Antique Gear monster, I can perform a Fusion Summon! I fuse my Wyvern and Hound Dog together! Mechanical dragon that soars across the heavens! Mechanical hound that carries an ancient spirit! Form an allegiance and become a new power! Fusion Summon! Come forth! Level 8! Mechanical being of malevolence! Antique Gear Devil!" Roget chanted as a black and red machine in the shape of a demon appeared.

"Using the same archetype as the ones who invaded our dimension...you disgusting snake..." Jack sneered.
"What did you expect, fallen King? I was sent here from Academia after all." Roget grinned before continuing. "I activate the Equip Spell, Antique Gear Magic Shield! Antique Gear Devil gains 1200 DEF!"
A black shield appeared in front of the devil, which expanded into a large field of red energy.

"Devil's effect activates! For every face up Spell Card on my field, the opponent takes 1000 damage! Take this, brat!" Roget screamed as his monster fired a barrage of red blasts from its cannons at the child.
REIRA: 4000-3000 LP
"You coward! Face me head on instead of praying on a child!" Jack pointed at his opponent.
"Why do that when I have a free shot of ending this brat during this turn! I activate the Spell Card, Antique Gear Rust! While I control an Antique Gear monster, I can negate the effects of a face up card on the field until the end of the turn! I negate the effects of Film Magician. Also, when my Golem attacks, you cannot activate Spells or Traps."
Roget expected somewhat of a reaction from the child, but Reira remained expressionless.
"No reaction to the revelation that you're about to lose? You really are just a puppet. Battle! Antique Gear Golem, attack Film Magician! Ultimate Pound!"
"Transmission Magician's effect activates in my hand. I can special summon this card when I would take battle damage." Reira shouted as a white variant of Film Magician appeared.

"As long as this card is on the field, I can't take any battle damage." Reira explained before his other magician was crushed by Roget's monster.
"Tch...I set a card facedown, turn end." Roget concluded.
"I...am not a puppet!" Reira abruptly spoke up, evoking a reaction from Roget.
"Oh, so you can stick up for itself after all." Roget sneered while Jack simply looked on at his ally with a curious look.
"...From my hand, I summon C/C One-Eyed Past Eye." Reira shouted as the metallic ace monster with a red eye appeared.

"Continuous Spell, Montage Fusion! With this card's effect, I can take a picture of your Antique Gear Golem!" Reira shouted as the image on the card turned into a picture of the machine-type. "Then, I can fuse the picture with C/C One-Eyed Past Eye! Ancient Giant! Dwell in this eye and give me your power!Fusion Summon! Come forth! Level 8! C/C/C Rock Halberd the Embodiment of Fused Arms!" Reira shouted as a tan halberd appeared that emanated an orange aura.

"Continuous Trap, Antique Gear Magnet, activate! By targeting an Antique Gear monster on my field, you can only target that monster for attacks as long as this card is on the field. Also, this card leaves the field after that monster is destroyed. I target Antique Gear Devil!"
"...Rock Halberd, attack Antique Gear Devil! Boulder Breaker!" Reira commanded as the monster flew through the air at the machine.
"Antique Gear Magic Shield's effect prevents Antique Gear Devil from being destroyed!" Roget explained as the halberd bounced off of the shield. "Even with your three attacks, you won't be able to touch my monster or my life points!"
"...I end my turn." Reira looked down in disappointment.
"I'll take you down here, Roget! My turn! I activate the Spell Card, Cards of Demise! I draw five cards! However, I will discard the my entire hand in five of my turns. By sending a card in my hand to the graveyard, I can special summon Red Goliath!" Jack shouted as a giant red fiend with stone armor appeared.

"Then, I summon the Tuner monster, Flare Resonator from my hand!" Jack yelled as a small fiery fiend appeared.

In a burst of crimson fire, the dragon with dark red armor and a glowing scar in it's right hand appeared.

Absolute Power Flame!" Jack shouted as his dragon thrusted its fist forward, launching a powerful blast of flames that incinerated the golem.

"What? Your Antique Gear Devil should've also been destroyed!" Jack growled.
"It would've been destroyed if it wasn't for its effect. Antique Gear Devil is unaffected by card effects as long as it's equipped with an Equip Spell."
"So it can't be destroyed in battle or by card effects..." Jack noted.
"This is my absolute defense!" Roget grinned.
"There is nothing absolute about your cheap plays. I'll prove that right now! Trap Activate Meteor Wave! Scarlight gains 300 damage and can inflict piercing damage."

"...Amazing..." Reira uttered in awe.
"I should have ended you long ago...for that, I'm a failure as a king. But I'll make things right by helping the Lancers take you down! Red Daemon's Dragon Scarlight, attack Antique Gear Devil! SCORCHING CRIMSON HELL BURNING!" Jack cried as his ace launched a massive blast of flames that incinerated Roget's entire side of the field.

Roget was quickly consumed by the flames before being flung into the colorful wall behind him.

"That was...overkill..." Reira softly said before looking at the former king, who had a look of confusion on his face.
The kid then turned his head to see what Jack was staring at, causing his eyes to widen in shock. A man was standing there with a conniving grin plastered on his face and an Academia duel disk activated.

"What's your aim, scum? Are you planning to keep us here forever?" Jack questioned.
"Not forever, just until your life points run out or you deck out. As soon as that happens, you'll be turned into a card." Roget grinned.
"...No...that won't happen!" Reira shouted in a determined tone.
"That's right! I set a card facedown, turn end!" Jack concluded.

Roget shouted as his dragon released a bright red blast from its mouth that obliterated the monster. "At this moment, Thermonuclear Dragon's effect activates! "Broadcast Magician's effect doubles any damage my monster's deal through their effects! Meaning, you take 4000 damage!" Reira shouted.
"You brat! I banish Antique Gear Supreme Shield in my graveyard! An instance of battle or effect damage is reduced to 0 while I control an Ancient Gear monster!" Roget countered as the arrow bounced off the energy shield. "Ultimate Golem's effect activates, allowing me to special summon Antique Gear Golem ignoring summoning conditions!"

The dragon thrusted its fist into the ground, creating a wave of fire that incinerated Roget's monsters.

"Turn end..." Jack grunted in anger.

"Have you forgotten?" Reira innocently asked before pointing at the magician that Reira had summoned during his previous turn, Broadcast Magician.
"That monster...doubles effect damage...!" Roget remembered.
"For someone who acts like they know everything, I'm surprised you forgot that monster was on the field." Jack smirked.
"Do it, Rock Crossbow!"
The halberd's aura leaked over to the crossbow, which absorbed the energy before firing a stone arrow at Roget.
The arrow hit its mark, exploding into shards of stone on impact which knocked Roget through the air.

And once again, the fallen man disappeared and another hologram took his place.

Roget collapsed to his knee before glitching out. The colorful walls of the room began to short circuit, as if the program couldn't handle Reira's combo. After a few moments, Roget's solid vision hologram vanished and the room went dark.

"...Right." Reira resolutely nodded before the two headed off.
"You're...Sergey Volkov...but at the same time...you're not him..."
"A mostly correct analysis, Reiji Akaba. Sergey Volkov was killed by Yuya Sakaki in the second match of the semifinals during this year's Friendship Cup." The man explained before tearing off his cloak, revealing a completely metallic coat of skin. The outline and figure looked roughly the same, but the man's fake hair was black and he had two glowing red eyes instead of one. "I am a shell, created by Master Roget in the scenario in which the original Sergey Volkov ceased to exist. All of Sergey Volkov's memories and combat experience have been uploaded into me."
"So you're the beta version of Sergey Volkov, with even less humanity." Reiji pointed out.
"Incorrect. I am the superior version of Sergey Volkov. Without human emotions, I am the ultimate warrior who will preserve Master Roget's plans." Sergey stated before activating his duel disk.
"If you wish to oppose me, I'll reduce you to the scrap metal you were built from." Reiji seriously spoke before activating his own duel disk.

"I activate my Counter Trap, Earthbound Glyph Barrier. When an opponent attacks an Earthbound monster, the attack is negated! Also, that monster is destroyed." Sergey countered, causing the razor blades to bounce off the magical wall and slice through Chaos Armageddon.
"My attack isn't over. Rebel King Leonidas, attack Geo Gryphon! Revolution Sword!" Reiji commanded as his golden knight leapt forward with its sword raised to the sky. The knight sliced the black and yellow entity down the middle, causing a powerful explosion.

"Geo Gryphon's effect activates! When this card or another Earthbound monster is destroyed, I can target a monster on your field and it's destroyed. I target Marksman King Tell." The phantom of the gryphon returned before charging through the red and green fiend.

"Sergey took out two of Reiji's monsters during that turn...he really is as ruthless as ever despite the lack of his murderous persona..." Yugo nervously uttered.
"Yeah...but Reiji blocked Sergey from summoning his two strongest monsters by not allowing him to Fusion Summon. He's still in control." Yuya pointed out.

The ground in front of Sergey broke apart before a bright light shot out of the ground and into the ceiling. The light expanded and began to take the shape of a gigantic black entity. The entity had a muscular body with two arms and two legs and stood over the track. The monster had multiple colorful markings across it's body. The entity let out a powerful roar as the track shook.

"That monster...!" Serena's eyes widened in worry.

Reiji declared as a barrier formed around him, shielding him from the purple electricity. "Then, I can add a Level 4 or lower D/D monster from my deck to my hand, such as D/D Sage."
Sergey grabbed another Action Card before looking up at Reiji.
"You can't use it to win, can you?" Reiji asked with some smugness.
"...I set a card facedown, turn end." Sergey concluded.
"This duel has dragged on long enough. Watching you duel during the Friendship Cup made me think you might actually be a worthy opponent. How...disappointing."
"Disappointing." Sergey repeated while his body twitched.
"My turn! During the Standby Phase, Contract with the Hellgate deals 1000 damage."

"At this moment, I activate my set Action Spell, Burning Storm. All of your Spells and Traps are banished and you take 200 damage for each one."
Reiji's Pendulum Scale and Continuous Spell bursted into flames, but the older teen wasn't fazed.

"From my hand, I summon D/D Sage!" Reiji shouted as a fiend wearing a white robe appeared.

"Sage's effect! Once per turn, I can send a D/D monster on my field to the graveyard to add a Contract from my deck to my hand. I send this card to the graveyard." Reiji explained as his fiend dissolved while I card popped out of his deck. "Next, I activate the Continuous Spell, Contract with the Thousand Hands! When this card is activated, I can add a Ritual monster from my deck to my hand!"
"Did he just say Ritual?!" Yugo gasped.
"Once per turn, Contract with the Thousand Hands allows me to send D/D monsters from my hand or field to the graveyard as well as banish D/D monsters from my Extra Deck in order to Ritual Summon! I banish the Level 8 D/D/D Cursed Blood King Siegfried from my graveyard! Blood-stained warrior cleansed by the light, extend your wings and enrapture the earth! Ritual Summon! Come forth! Level 8! D/D/D Holy King Solomon!" Reiji shouted a pillar of light brightened the dark room. A divine fiend with six white wings arrived from the light. The fiend had gold and black armor along with a long blue cape. The sword it carried had a silver blade with a golden handle.

"So he can do it after all..." Yuya trailed off.

The Continuous Spell dissolved into shinning particles that flowed into the king's sword. The king then drove his blade into the ground, causing a yellow portal to appeared in the ground in front of him.
"Revive, D/D/D Cruel Dragon King Beowulf!"
The wolf-like king jumped out of the portal with a powerful roar.

"...This is...defeat...!"
"Sergey! What the hell are you doing?! Grab an Action Card, that's an order!"
Obeying his master's command, the mechanical giant used its superior physical abilities to run through the Action Field.
"Battle! Cruel Dragon King Beowulf, attack Geo Kraken! Dragon Slayer Slash!"
The wolf king leapt forward and slashed through the kraken.
SERGEY: 500-300 LP
"Holy King Solomon, attack Geo Gryphon!"
The angelic fiend extended its wings before taking flight. As the king flew through the air, its sword gained a light blue glow that brightened up the dark room.
Sergey finally managed to grab an Action Card, while standing on a platform very far away from the ground.
"Action Spell, Damage Banish-"
Sergey paused as he looked up, to see Reiji Akaba standing on a higher platform, looking down on him with those menacing purple eyes.
"Action Spell, No Action. Your Action Spell's effect is negated."
"...Defeat..."
"Sanctified Wrath!"
The king slashed the opposing beast in half with its shinning sword.
The shockwave knocked what remained of Sergey off of the platform.
When he hit the ground, the loud sound of metal hitting concrete echoed throughout the room.

Reiji slowly descended from platform to platform before landing on the ground in front of Sergey, his glowing red eyes becoming dimmer by the second.
The silver-haired teen stood over the machine, watching the light slowly leave Sergey's artificial eyes.
"...Duel...beautiful..."
Reiji's eyes narrowed as the cybernetic ghost of Sergey Volkov was finally put to rest.
"...It seems that a small part of the original stayed alive within this thing..." Reiji noted before hearing foot steps in the distance.
"B-Brother!" The hooded child shouted, running up to his brother and hugging his leg.
"So you managed to take out that monster, eh? As expected of the leader of the Lancers." Jack smirked.
"I apologize that I couldn't foresee Roget's trap. Thank you for supporting my younger sibling." Reiji told the older man, bowing his head.
"Your kid sibling here is actually the one who defeated Roget with an infinite loop. I've never seen a young one with such potential." Jack informed the elder sibling, causing the younger sibling to blush in embarrassment.
"I'd expect nothing less." Reiji turned to the kid and patted him on the head briefly, surprising Reira.
"T-Thanks, brother. Let's proceed further and end this." Reira said with a glint of determination in his eyes.
'It seems Reira's confidence is growing as his sense of self increases...' Reiji thought to himself before his lips faintly curled upwards.
"Damn, Reiji Akaba is crazy strong!" Crow shouted as he, Yugo, Yuya, and Ushio made their way through the building.
"Yeah...Sergey Volkov was stronger than me on my own...and Reiji still beat him without even a hint of worry or concern at any point in the duel..." Yuya trailed off.
"Yeah, he really is something else..." Yugo agreed before noticing Yuya's negative expression. "Don't worry, Yuya. With how much we both grew during our match, I'm sure we'll be able to beat anyone who challenges us, even Reiji Akaba himself. We just have to keep improving."
"Right, we just have to get stronger..." Yuya uttered before briefly zoning out.
"Forget the philosophy of the man who abandoned your family. Focuse on becoming stronger!"
Those words the shadow said to him during his duel with Sergey played in his mind, reminding him of what Yugo had told him.
"You good, kid?" Crow asked.
"Yeah." Yuya nodded before turning to his counterpart. "Yugo, I'll get stronger. Even more than you and Yuto. But I won't ever endanger you guys again, I promise."
"...Sounds good! But don't think you'll easily be able to get ahead of me!" Yugo grinned before lightly punching his brother in the arm, causing him to laugh.
"Just you wait, Yugo. I'll catch up to you, no matter what."
Hey everyone, we're back today with another chapter! Good news, this is the third to last chapter of the arc! Only two more and we're onto the Xyz Dimension! Thank you all for sticking with me throughout this journey and I look forward to continuing on writing this story.
As for the duels, I decided to let Reira be the one to go against Roget's infinite loop instead of Reiji, simply because I didn't want to rehash what had already happened in cannon. Also, Roget getting outsmarted by a child is so much more satisfying than him being outplayed by a super genius. Also, Jack got to team up with the younger Akaba, giving him a chance to obliterated Roget while also allowing him to interact with Reira. As for Reiji's duel, I primarily wanted this duel to happen to display how strong Reiji still is compared to the other Lancers. Reiji being able to take down Sergey while mostly being in control of the duel, while Yuya had to go berserk to pull off a close win. Also, I wanted to make sure he got a win this arc since his duel with Hell Kaiser didn't get a conclusion. Also, I decided to have this Sergey not just be the actual one with a few more spare parts because that would've taken away from what Yuya did. Consequences builds characters. Also, Reiji gets to show off his Ritual monster! What made Reiji really cool in cannon to most was that he had mastered all of the summoning methods earlier on apart from Ritual, while it took Yuya two seasons to learn them all. However, since Yuya has known all the methods including Ritual since the Standard Arc, it only makes sense Reiji to have his own Ritual monsters as to not be left behind by his rival. In a perfect world, the Ritual monster would be an EARTH monster, but due to the inclusion of Stone King Darius, I decided to go a different route. Instead, Reiji's Ritual monsters, or at least his main ones, will be LIGHT Fiends, which I thought would be pretty cool.

Kaiser Younes: I am a firm believer that all of the Yu-boys are foils of the protagonist. My head cannonwas always that Zarc always idolized the heroes of the past growing up, which is why his counterparts ended up similar to them. I don't know if they'll have nicknames for the dragons, probably just shorten their names, like Yuya calling his dragon Odd Eyes instead of Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon.
Belzemon1449: Frost basically being a more selfish version of Sora fit so well, so I'm glad you enjoyed that parallel. Yuri being the jealous ex type fits too well in the context of his character.
Egduardiazsluber: For your favorite character from the Xyz Dimension, the people that are from there are Yuto, Shun, and Ruri. I'll be running this poll again towards the end of that arc, after more Xyz characters will be introduced. Also, I plan on adding a fan made card section after revising the fic, something I plan to do after the arc.
T.V. 2000: Thank you for your kind words about writing the duels. The Yuri and Shun interaction felt almost necessary to write and it's a crime they never interacted in cannon. Also, good job guessing about the Sergey clone.
TR: To be honest, the genders of the dragons always felt weird to me. I feel like all four dragons should be male because of their connections to the four Yu-boys but canonically Clear Wing is female, Odd Eyes and Dark Rebellion are male, and Starve Venom is, to me, a male. Though, Purple Poison Magician doesn't really look male or female, so it's hard to tell. I only say that the four dragons should be male because the four Bracelet Girl's have all female aces. That way it's four male aces for the Yu's and four female aces for the Bracelet Girls. That's just my thought process though, it's not like Konami cared about that since they didn't care about any of the Bracelet girls besides Serena (support wise) until years later.
