26. REWRITE HAPPENING

High School Wizard DxD is going to get a rewrite!

The main reason for this...I am not the same person I was when I started writing, and when I look back, I'm not quite happy with myself. Heck, I started it over 10 years ago. 10 years! I was still in college when I started writing this story, and I know I was not only overconfident in my ability to write, but in my story ideas themselves. Now when I try to write, it's harder to stick to one idea or focus in general. With that in mind, I know what I need to do. I need to start over.

Not simply rewriting the story, but actually starting from the beginning of Issei's journey as Kamen Rider Wizard II. Some of you might remember me mentioning ideas for spin off chapters and stories describing adventures from before the start of the story. Instead of doing those as separate things or flashback chapters, I plan to actually write that whole story from the chronological start. This should help me develop the story from the beginning.

It will take a while. Before doing serious writing, I'll be outlining/planning the story piece by piece. This is not an easy decision. For a long time, I wrestled with this idea. But I have realized, just like how when you are cleaning up you have to take everything out then put things back in place one at a time, sometimes you need to start over to get good results.
