The morning sun starts to rise over the horizon! And that's when Dodrio crows!

Ash, Goh, and the Parisians began to wake up!
Ash: [yawns]
Pikachu: [yawns] CHA...
Juleka: [yawns softly]
Ash: [sees her cuddling close to him; smiles] Morning, beautiful.
Juleka: Morning, babe.
Then, they shared a good morning kiss to the lips!
Ash: Let me just say, that was the best night sleep I had in a long time! Especially with you next to me!
Juleka: [smiles and nods] Me too.
Ash: Now, whaddya say we go and get some breakfast?
Juleka: [nods]
When they got down from their bunk, they saw Goh and Alix already up!
Ash: Oh! Morning, Goh! Alix!
Goh: Morning, Ash!
Alix: Morning!
Ash: We're heading down to the kitchen for some breakfast!
Pikachu: PIKA PIKA!
Alix: Hey, alright! I'll need the energy to find me some new Pokémon to catch!
Goh: [blushes and smiles lovingly at her] Where have you been all my life?
Ash: Well then... Last one to the kitchen is a rotten Exeggcute! [takes Juleka's hand] C'mon, Jules! [pulls her along]
Juleka: [gasps; laughs]
Pikachu: [running after them] PIKACHU!
Rockruff: [follows] RUFF RUFF!
Goh: Hey!
Alix: You started first! [grabs Goh's hand and runs] Come on, big guy!
Goh: Whoa!

Scene changes to Pikachu in an open field twirling Ash's hat on its tail and then putting on and smiling as Ash and Goh read the title of the chapter!
Ash (voiceover): First Gym Battle!
Goh (voiceover): Parisian Style!
Everyone had woken up and were in the kitchen having a nice breakfast, along with their Pokémon.
Marinette: Nothing like a good breakfast to start the day!
Ash: [munching] You got that right!
Alya: So, what's on our agenda for today?
Ash: I was thinking maybe you'd all like to witness a gym battle!
Rose: A gym battle?
Ivan: You mean battling while exercising?
Ash: Not exactly! A gym battle is a battle in which a trainer challenges a gym leader for their badge!
Goh: And when trainers collect all eight, they can enter the Pokémon League!
Kim: [gets up excitedly] Pokémon League?! Sweet!
Ash: Yeah! And to do that, we'll be going on a Regional Gym Battle voyage!
Pikachu: [agreeing] PIKA PIKA!
Marinette: A Regional Gym Battle Voyage?
Ash: Yeah! And not only will we get to go to different gyms in different regions, but you guys can use the opportunity to catch some new wild Pokémon!
Adrien: [gasps in awe]
Rose: [squeals excitedly]
Mylène: But where should we go first?
Goh: How about here in Vermilion City? Their gym specializes in Electric-types!
Ash: That's a good idea! Oh! That reminds me! I have something for you all!
Marinette: You do?
Ash: [pulls out 13 badges cases] Ta-da! Badge cases for you all!
Marinette: Badge cases?
Ash: They're used for holding gym badges you collect! I got one for each of you!
Alya: Wow! Thanks, Ash!
Everyone took their badge cases, which had respective colors!
Marinette: They're even in our respective colors!
Nino: Sweet!
Ash: Alright! Everyone ready for their gym battles?
[everyone giving their affirmations]
Ash: Well then, let's...
Everyone: GO!
Soon, our heroes made their way to the Vermilion City Gym! On their way, they decided to trek through the forest!
Ash: Watch your step, guys!
Goh: So, who's gonna be the one to challenge the Vermilion City Gym?
Alix: I think I might take a crack at it!
Kim: You?! No way! I should be the one to challenge the Vermilion Gym!
Alix: Dream on, Kim! I'M challenging that gym and winning my very first badge!
Scorbunny: SCORBUN!
Kim: You won't be able to beat the gym leader's Pokémon with just one little Scorbunny!
Alix: Oh and you think you can with just one little Chimchar?!
Kim: Chimchar's hard as nails!
Alix: And your only Pokémon! Besides, you hardly gained any experience with Chimchar from your battles! I, on the other hand, have more experience with Scorbunny! You're just a rookie!
Kim: Rookie?!
Alix: That's what I said!
Ash: Hey, hey, hey! Cool it, you two!
Marinette: Ash is right! It's not a competition!
Alix: But we gotta choose who gets to battle at that gym!
Nino: Easy! [places a hand on Adrien's shoulder] Adrien's gonna be challenging that gym!
Adrien: [surprised] I am?
Nino: Yeah, dude! You should battle at the gym!
Adrien: But why me though?
Litten: LITTEN?
Nino: You've totally got the battle experience! You and Litten basically train nearly every day!
Adrien: I guess that's true. [to everyone] What do you all think?
Rose: Perhaps! But all you have is Litten!
Litten: LITTEN!
Ash: That's why we're out here in the forest! So some of you can catch a Pokémon to help in your gym battle!
Max: Splendid idea!
Marinette: I guess that works!
Alya: Totally!
Rose: Okay!
Adrien: Now, where to look...
[bushes rustling]
Mylène: [gasps] Something's in the bushes.
That's when, out of the bushes, came a certain Lonely Pokémon!
Cubone: [panting] CU, CU, CUBONE!
Ash: A Cubone!
Cubone: [jumps into the first person's arms, which was Adrien's] CUBONE!
Adrien: [gasps in surprise]
Cubone: [scared] CUBONE!
Marinette: What's wrong?
Rose: It looks scared!
Parasect x2: [coming out of the bush] PARASECT!
Ash: Parasect!
Marinette pulled out her Rotom Phone!
Marinette's Rotom Phone: Parasect, the Mushroom Pokémon. A Bug and Grass-type. Parasect is controlled by a mushroom that has grown larger than its host's body. The Pokémon scatters poisonous spores.
Marinette: [freaked out a bit] Poisonous spores?!
Parasect x2: [threatening] PARASECT!
Cubone: [buries its face in Adrien's chest in terror; tears forming in eyes] CUBONE!
Ash: That's why Cubone's so scared! It must've wandered into Parasect territory!
Pikachu: PIKA PIKA!
Litten: [facing the Parasect] LITTEN!
Adrien: [gains a serious look on his face and looks down at Cubone] Are these guys picking on you, little guy?
Cubone: [nods; scared] CUBO!
Adrien: Don't worry! I'll protect you! Litten, teach those bullies a lesson! Ember attack!
Litten: [Ember move] LIT…TEN!
Parasect #1: [hit; pained] SECT!
Parasect #2: [Stun Spore move] PARASECT…
Ash: Watch out for Stun Spore!
Rose: Eek!
Adrien: Use Ember, again!
Litten: [Ember move] TEN!
This overpowered the Stun Spore!
Adrien: Use Fury Swipes!
Litten: [Fury Swipes move] LIT...TEN TEN TEN TEN TEN TEN TEN TEN TEN TEN TEN TEN!
Parasect #2: [scratched multiple times; pained] PARA! PARA! PARASECT!
Adrien: Finish them with Fire Fang!
Litten: [Fire Fang move] LIIIIIIIIITTEN!
Parasect x2: [pained] SECT!
Adrien: I think we're done here! Now leave before I decide to change my mind!
Litten: [hisses threateningly and intimidatingly]
Parasect x2: [scurrying away quickly; scared] PARA, PARA, PARA!
Ash: Way to go, Adrien!
Pikachu: [happy] PIKA PIKACHU!
Goh: Yeah! You showed them!
Grookey: GROOKEY!
Adrien: Thanks!
Litten: [proud] LITTEN!
Then, Adrien turned to the Cubone!
Adrien: Are you okay, little guy?
Cubone: CUBONE. [grateful] CUBONE, CUBONE!
Ash: I think it's saying thank you!
Pikachu: [agreeing] PIKACHU!
Adrien: You're welcome, Cubone!
Cubone: [hugs his leg] CUBO!
Ash: Uh oh! I think Cubone's become emotionally attached to you, Adrien!
Goh: It looks like it!
Adrien: You like me, Cubone?
Cubone: [nods affirmatively] BONE!
Ash: Why don't you catch it, Adrien?
Adrien: Really?
Ash: Yeah! I mean, look at how much it likes you!
Cubone: [jumps into his arms] CUBONE!
Adrien: [surprised] Uh.
Ash: See?
Adrien smiled and looked at Cubone in his arms!
Adrien: Would you like to come along with me, Cubone?
Cubone: [happily nods] CUBONE!
Adrien: Alright then! Welcome to the Agreste Family, Cubone!
Cubone: [hugs him; saying "Daddy!"] CUBONE!
Rose: Aww! That's really sweet!
Goh: [chuckles] I think Cubone just called you "Daddy"!
Adrien: Me? Daddy?
Alya: Looks like it to me!
Ash: Anyway, come on, gang! Let's continue on!
Adrien shortly caught Cubone and everyone continued their trek through the forest!
Alya got to take a few shots of some Pokémon living in the trees like Mankey and Pidgey, and on the ground like Rattata and Raticate!
Ash: We're almost there!
Marinette: This is exciting! We get to see an actual gym battle!
Alya: I know!
Adrien: [looks down at Cubone walking by his side] I'm actually gonna be challenging that gym, Cubone! But I need at least two Pokémon to battle! If you're okay with it, you think you can help me out?
Cubone: [nods eagerly] CU! [puffs its chest to look tough] CUBONE!
Ash: [chuckles] Looks like Cubone's battle ready!
Pikachu: [chuckles; agreeing] PIKA PIKACHU!
Soon, they arrived at the Vermilion City Gym!
Goh: This is it! The Vermilion City Gym!
Ash: Let's head in!
They did just that!
["Who's That Pokémon?" time]
[as a magnifying glass shows something red and white with a toothy grin with Pikachu standing by a PokéBall]
Ash: Who's that Pokémon?
[as the Pokémon reveals to be an Electrode]
Pikachu: PIKA?
Electrode: ELECTRODE!
Pikachu: PIKA PIKA!

Once they got inside, they saw the gym's battlefield! A Trainer's Pangoro was currently battling Visquez's Electrode!
Visquez: Now, Electrode! Rollout!
Electrode: [Rollout move] LEC, LEC, LEC, LEC, LEC, ELECTRODE!
Pangoro: [hit] PAN!
Ash: Looks liked we walked in on a gym battle!
Marinette: [pulls out her Rotom Phone] Who's that Pokémon?
Marinette's Rotom Phone: Pangoro, the Daunting Pokémon. A Fighting and Dark-type. Using its leaf, Pangoro can predict the moves of its opponents. It strikes with punches that can turn a dump truck into scrap with just one hit.
Marinette: Whoa! That sounds strong!
Alix: Wicked!
Rose: Oh my!
Juleka: [awed] Awesome!
Male Trainer: Pangoro, use Hammer Arm!
Pangoro: [Hammer Arm move] PAN...GORO!
Electrode: [pained] TRODE!
Visquez: You can take that, Electrode! Use Magnet Rise!
Electrode: [Magnet Rise move] ELECTRODE!
That was when Electrode started to float!
Nino: Dude! It's floating!
Max: How is that possible?
Goh: Well, that's Magnet Rise!
Chunks of the battlefield began to rise as well!
Goh: It causes the user to levitate using electrically generated magnetism!
Ivan: Whoa!
Ash: And watch what happens with Electrode!
Electrode: ELEC... [bounces from rock to rock] TRODE! ELECTRODE!
Alya: Whoa! Speedy!
Alix: Look at it go!
Ash: Electrode's one of Visquez's ace Pokémon! Once it starts bouncing around like that, its blows can be extreme! Just look at the walls by the bleachers!
Everyone looked at the walls and saw a bunch of round dents!
Alya: Whoa! Electrode did that?!
Ash: Yep! Every one of those dents came from it!
Pikachu: PIKA!
Ash: Which is why Electrode's earned its nickname "The Bomb Ball"!
Kim: [awed] Wow. The Bomb Ball.
Ash: Yep!
Visquez: Now, Electrode! Let's end this! Use Discharge!
Electrode: [Discharge move] ELEC…TRODE!
Pangoro: [hit; electrocuted] PAN!
Then, Pangoro collapsed!
Pangoro: [dazed; swirls in eyes] PANGORO...
Tony: Pangoro is unable to battle! Electrode wins! Which means the match goes to Visquez, the substitute Gym Leader!
Male Trainer: Aw, man! I lost! [takes out a PokéBall and returns Pangoro; disappointed] Pangoro, return.
Visquez: That was a good battle!
Male Trainer: Yeah, it was! [bows] Thank you for letting me challenge you.
Visquez: Come back anytime!
The Trainer nodded as he began to head out, walking past Ash, Goh, and their friends!
Visquez: Next challenger!
Ash: Hey, Visquez!
Pikachu: [greeting] PIKACHU!
Visquez: Well, if it isn't Ash Ketchum! Haven't seen you since our World Coronation Series battle!
Ash: Yeah, I know!
Visquez: [sees the Parisian gang] I see you brought some friends!
Ash: I sure did! Let me introduce you! This is Marinette, Adrien, Alya, Nino, Rose, Juleka, Mylène, Alix, Ivan, Kim, Max, Nathaniel and Sabrina!
Marinette: Hello!
Visquez: Pleasure to meet you! The name's Visquez! I'm the substitute Gym Leader of the Vermilion City Gym!
Alix: Huh? Substitute? Where's the actual Gym Leader?
Ash: That would be Lieutenant Surge! Last time I was here, I heard Surge was away!
Goh: Said something about him being out on a training journey!
Marinette: I see!
Max: I see that your gym specializes in Electric-type Pokémon like Ash told us!
Visquez: You guessed right!
Electrode: [rolls up next to Visquez] ELECTRODE!
Marinette: And this must be your Electrode!
Alix: [pulls out her Rotom Phone]
Alix's Rotom Phone: Electrode, the Ball Pokémon. An Electric-type. Electrode reacts to stimulation with explosive power. Feared far and wide, it's known as "The Bomb Ball."
Visquez: Electrode's the deadliest weapon in the entire Vermilion City Gym!
Electrode: [smirks with pride] TRODE!
Visquez: So, Ash! What brings you back to the Vermilion City Gym?
Ash: We're here because one of my friends wants a gym battle with you!
Visquez: Really now? Which one?
Kim and Alix: [pointing at themselves; at the same time] Me! [both look surprised, then glare at each other] No, ME!
Ash: Hey! No fighting!
Nino: We've already been over this! It's not gonna be either of you!
Kim and Alix: [slump in disappointment] Aw!
Chimchar and Scorbunny: [slumps in disappointment] CHAR!/NY-BUN!
Nino: [turns to Visquez; wraps an arm around Adrien] Dudette- er, I mean, ma'am, my best bud, Adrien, wants to challenge you!
Adrien: Uh, yeah. If that's okay with you?
Visquez: [smirks] That's fine with me! You look like you've got what it takes!
Adrien: Well, I do train a lot with my fencing classes back home!
Visquez: Let's put that to the test! We'll battle two-on-two!
Adrien: [smiles confidently and nods] That's fine with me!
Visquez: Perfect!
Soon, Adrien and Visquez were on their opposing sides!
Ash, Goh, and the other Parisians were watching from the bleachers!
Tony: The gym battle between Adrien Agreste, the challenger, and Visquez, the substitute Gym Leader, is about to begin! Each side will use two Pokémon and the battle will be over when either side's Pokémon are unable to continue!
Nino: This is where it begins!
Alix: Adrien's first gym battle!
Rose: [squeals excitedly]
Alya: [holding her Rotom Phone for recording] I'm gonna get the action on video!
Marinette was super excited to see her crush on the battlefield!
Marinette: [in her head] This is so exciting!
Ash: [smirks] Gazing at Adrien, Marinette?
Marinette: [eyes widen in shock] What?! Pft, no! I'm just gazing at the battle!
Ash: [teasingly] No you're not~!
Marinette: [pouts; groans; bonks Ash on the head]
[BONK!]
Ash: OW! What did I do?
Pikachu: [smiles sheepishly and sweat drops] PIKACHU.
Tony: Now, bring out your Pokémon!
Adrien: [takes out a PokéBall] Cubone, [tosses it] let's go!
[Cubone materializes]
Cubone: [appearing] CUBONE!
Visquez: Cubone, eh? [takes out a PokéBall and tosses it] Raichu, time for action!
[Raichu materializes]
Raichu: [appearing] RAI RAI!
Marinette: Whoa! She's got a Raichu too!
Juleka: Hm? [pulls out her Rotom Phone]
Juleka's Rotom Phone: Raichu, the Mouse Pokémon. An Electric-type, and the evolved form of Pikachu. If its electric pouches run empty, it raises its tail to gather electricity from the atmosphere.
Rose: You mean Pikachu evolves into Raichu?
Ash: Yep!
Juleka: [gasps softly and looks at Pikachu]
Pikachu: [smiles] PIKACHU!
Alix: Aren't you gonna evolve your Pikachu into Raichu, Ash?
Ash: Nah! Pikachu wants to get stronger just the way it is!
Pikachu: [agreeing] PIKACHU!
Juleka: [nods in agreement]
Goh: The Pikachu I had evolved into a Raichu in order to save its Pikachu friends!
Alix: Aw, sweet!
Ash: [smiles at Juleka] I'm glad you get it, Jules!
Juleka: [nods] Mm.
Juleka just smiled as she pat Ash's head!
Ash: [giggles]
Tony: Alright! Battle begin!
Adrien: Alright, Cubone! Your first battle! Let's start this off with Bonemerang!
Cubone: CUBONE! [Bonemerang move; throwing its bone] CU...BONE!
Visquez: Dodge it!
Raichu: [runs to the side to dodge] RAI!
But...
Raichu: [hit from behind] RAI!
Cubone: [catches its bone] CUBONE!
Adrien: [smirks] Just like a regular boomerang! It always comes back around!
Visquez: Good idea! I'll give you credit for ingenuity! But that's not gonna stop us! Raichu, use Thunderbolt!
Raichu: [Thunderbolt move] RAI...CHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!
Cubone: [bracing itself with its bone] CUBO!
Adrien: Cubone, deflect it!
Cubone: [deflects it with its bone] BONE!
Ash: I remember that little tactic! By spinning its bone, Cubone was able to deflect the Electric attack!
Pikachu: [agreeing] PIKACHU!
Adrien: Cubone, use Bone Club!
Cubone: [Bone Club move] CUBONE!
Raichu: [hit directly on the head] RAICHU!
Visquez: Raichu!
Raichu: [dizzy with swirls in eyes] RAICHU…
Kim: [laughs] Looks like Raichu is seeing stars! What a classic!
Visquez: [as Raichu shakes it off] Raichu, show them your Focus Punch!
Raichu: [Focus Punch move] RAI...CHU!
Cubone: [blocks with its bone] CUBONE!
Ivan: Whoa!
Alix: That is one strong Cubone!
Kim: You said it!
Adrien: Cubone, use Stomping Tantrum!
Visquez: Huh?!
Cubone: [Stomping Tantrum move] CU…BONE, BONE, BONE!
Shards of the ground flew out and hit Raichu!
Raichu: [hit; pained] RAI!
Visquez: [gasps in shock]
Ash: That was super effective!
Goh: Sure was! I didn't even know Cubone could use that move!
Alix: Hey, now that we know, you should teach that to yours!
Goh: I'll get to that on a later time!
Visquez: We're far from done! Use Volt Tackle!
Raichu: [Volt Tackle move] RAI RAI RAI RAI RAI RAI RAI RAI RAI RAI RAI RAI RAI RAI RAI RAI RAI...
Adrien: Look out, Cubone!
Cubone: CU? [hit] CUBONE!
Adrien: Cubone, no!
Cubone skidded back, but it didn't feel a thing!
Adrien: You're okay!
Visquez: [gasps in shock]
Rose: What happened?
Kim: Why didn't it work?
Ash: That's because Cubone is a Ground-type! Electric-type moves won't do a thing!
Visquez: [growls] I forgot! [rubs her head irritability] Cubone's a Ground-type!
Raichu: RAI RAI.
Visquez: No matter! We can still make do with what we got! Raichu, use Focus Punch!
Raichu: [Focus Punch move] RAI…RAI RAICHU!
Adrien: Dodge it, Cubone!
Cubone: [dodges] CU!
Adrien: Now, use Bone Club!
Cubone: [Bone Club move] CUBO!
Raichu: [hit] RAI!
Visquez: I gotta say, you really know your skills when battling with Pokémon!
Adrien: Thank you very much! I've practiced time to time whenever I had any free time in my schedule!
Visquez: Well, let's see you handle this! Use Volt Tackle!
Raichu: [Volt Tackle move] RAI RAI RAI RAI RAI RAI RAI RAI RAI RAI RAI RAI RAI RAI!
Adrien: Cubone, use Stomping Tantrum!
Cubone: [Stomping Tantrum move] CU…BONE, BONE, BONE!
Then, the ground started to shake and shook Raichu off balance from Volt Tackle!
Raichu: [shakes] RAI RAI!
Adrien: Now, finish it with Headbutt!
Cubone: [Headbutt move] BONE!
Raichu: [hit] RAI!
Cubone sent Raichu flying into the wall!
The dust cleared and Raichu was revealed to be knocked out!
Raichu: [slides to the floor; swirls in eyes; dazed] RAI...
Cubone: [falls to the floor] CU. [gets up; proud] CUBONE!
Tony: Raichu is unable to battle! Cubone wins!
Adrien: Alright! We did it!
Cubone: [happy] CUBONE!
Adrien: You were amazing, Cubone!
Cubone: [pleased] CUBO!
Ash: Alright!
Pikachu: [cheering] PIKA PIKA!
Grookey: [cheering] GROOKEY KEY!
Popplio: [cheering] POP POP POP!
Alya: Alright, Adrien!
Nino: Way to go, dude!
Rose: Yay!
Marinette: [ecstatic; cheering loudly] YES! GO, ADRIEN, GO!
This made everyone look over at Marinette, surprised by her loud voice! Her face flushed and she sat down in embarrassment!
Marinette: [stammers; smiles nervously] N-Nice job, Adrien! Way to go!
Ash: [teasing] Smooth move, Marinette. [snickers]
Marinette: [bonks Ash on the head]
[BONK!]
Ash: OW! [rubs his head] What did I do?
Goh: [chuckles]
Chloe: Oh, good grief.
Visquez: [takes out Raichu's PokéBall and returns Raichu] Great work, Raichu! Return! [smirks at Adrien] Not bad, kid! Not bad at all!
Adrien: Thanks. Same could be said about you! But we're just getting started!
Visquez: I agree! [takes out another PokéBall and tosses it] Electrode, let's go!
[Electrode materializes]
Electrode: [appearing] ELECTRODE!
Ash: There it is!
Goh: Visquez's secret weapon!
Kim: Cool!
Ash: You'll change that tune once you see it in action!
Pikachu: [agreeing] PIKACHU!
Adrien: You okay to keep going, Cubone?
Cubone: [hits its skull with its bone; determined] BONE!
Adrien: Alright! Then, let's use Bone Club!
Cubone: [running forward and holding up its bone; Bone Club move] CUBONE!
Visquez: Dodge it!
Electrode: [dashes to the side] ELEC!
The attack missed!
Cubone: [shocked] BONE?!
Alya: Whoa! That's fast!
Nino: Look at it go!
Ash: Visquez's Electrode has a knack for being speedy!
Pikachu: [agreeing] PIKACHU!
Ash: It's even a match for Gengar's speed!
Juleka: [gasps softly]
Adrien: Cubone, chase it down and use Bone Club!
Cubone: [chases after Electrode] CUBO CU!
As Cubone chased down Electrode across the battlefield, the Ball Pokémon kept bouncing around to dodge as Cubone swung its bone trying to land a hit!
Cubone: [frustrated] CUBONE!
Rose: Ooh! I never thought an Electrode can be so bouncy!
Mylène: Neither could I.
Adrien: In that case, use Bonemerang!
Cubone: [Bonemerang move; throws its bone like a boomerang] CU…BONE!
Visquez: Dodge it!
Electrode: [dodges] TRODE!
But Electrode didn't count on the attack coming back around on it!
Visquez: Use Magnet Rise!
Electrode: [Magnet Rise move] ELEC…TRODE!
Then, Electrode began to levitate! Several chunks of the battlefield rose out of the ground, sparking with electricity!
Ash: There it is! The one move that can throw anyone out of balance!
Juleka: [gasps softly in awe]
Ash: With Magnet Rise in effect, Cubone's Ground-type moves won't have any effect!
Pikachu: [agreeing] PIKACHU!
Kim: Man, that's totally cheating!
Ash: Anything pretty much goes in a Pokémon Battle, Kim!
Goh: Besides, this is along the lines of "using the terrain in your area"!
Max: Precisely!
Alix: [folds her hands behind her head] Makes sense to me!
Adrien: [grunts in frustration] Ground-types won't work for now! All we can use is Headbutt! Cubone, use Headbutt!
Cubone: [charges in] CUBONE!
Cubone began to hop onto the floating chunks!
Ash: Clever move! Even though its Ground-type moves won't work on Electrode for now, Adrien's having Cubone use the chunks to help it gain the advantage and land an attack!
Cubone: [Headbutt move] CU...BONE!
Electrode: [hit] TRO!
Visquez: Impressive! Didn't think your Cubone could use the floating chunks of the ground to gain footing!
Adrien: Well, if things don't work out as you planned, then the next best thing to do is improvise! Cubone, use Headbutt again!
Cubone: [Headbutt move] CUBONE!
Then, Cubone began hopping on the floating chunks!
Visquez: I don't fall for the same trick twice! Use Sonic Boom!
Electrode: [Sonic Boom move] ELEC…TRODE!
Adrien: Quick, Cubone! Dodge it!
Cubone: [dodges] CUBO!
Cubone managed to dodge, but the Sonic Boom destroyed the chunk of ground!
Adrien: Use Headbutt!
Cubone: [Headbutt move] CU...
Visquez: Use Rollout!
Electrode: [Rollout move] ELECTRODE!
Cubone: [hit] BONE!
Adrien: [gasps]
Visquez: Now use Sonic Boom!
Electrode: [Sonic Boom move] ELEC…TRODE!
Cubone: [hit; pained] CUBONE!
The impact from Sonic Boom caused Cubone to fall off the floating chunk!
Adrien: Cubone, no!
Cubone hit the bottom, causing it to faint from the impact from both the fall and Sonic Boom!
Cubone: [dazed; swirls in eyes] CUBONE...
Tony: Cubone is unable to battle! Electrode wins!
Visquez: Nice work, Electrode!
Electrode: [smirks proudly] ELECTRODE!
Rose: Oh, poor Cubone.
Alix: After all that hard work, it's down for the count.
Ash: Don't sell this battle out short, guys! Adrien still has one Pokémon left!
Pikachu: [agreeing] PIKACHU!
Marinette: Yeah! He's not out yet! Don't think for a minute Adrien's gonna lose!
Adrien: [returns Cubone] Thank you, Cubone. Now, take a nice long rest.
Visquez: What can I say? Our Magnet Rise wraps things up pretty quickly!
Adrien: I'll admit, you threw me a curve there! But I won't let Cubone's hard work to go waste!
Visquez: Well then, less talk and more fighting, kid!
Adrien: [pulling out a PokéBall] Litten, [tosses it] let's go!
[Litten materializes]
Litten: [appearing; determined, as its back flares up] LITTEN!
Ash: Looks like he's going with Litten!
Marinette: [pokes him playfully] What gave that away?
Tony: Alright! Battle begin!
Visquez: Let's make this quick and easy, Electrode! Use Discharge!
Electrode: [Discharge move] ELEC...TROOOOOODE!
Adrien: Dodge it!
Litten: [runs and dodges] LIT!
Litten was able to dodge the attack with its speed!
Ash: Wow! Look at Litten go!
Visquez: Chase it down!
Electrode did so! But Litten dodged! And every time Litten dodged, Electrode would end up hitting the sides of the bleachers creating huge dents!
Rose: [covers her mouth with her hands as she gasps]
Ash: Yep!
Juleka: [smiles in awe] So awesome...
Goh: Only you would think that!
Ash: [wraps an arm around Juleka] That's my girl!
Juleka: [smiles and blushes]
Adrien: Litten, use Ember!
Litten: [Ember move] LIT...TEN!
Electrode: [hit; pained] ELECTRODE!
Visquez: [gasps in shock]
Kim: Ha! He got 'em!
Ash: Maybe! But Electrode isn't done yet!
Visquez: Electrode, Rollout!
Electrode: [Rollout move; rolls rapidly] ELE...LE LE LE LE LE LE LE LE LE LE LE!
Adrien: Dodge it!
Litten: [dodges] TEN!
Visquez: Speedy little Pokémon, isn't it?
Adrien: You bet! There's more to Litten than meets the eye! Now, Litten! Use Fury Swipes!
Litten: [Fury Swipes move] LIT...TEN! LITTEN, LITTEN, LIT!
Electrode: [hit; pained] ELECTRODE!
Visquez: [growls] Use Discharge!
Electrode: [Discharge move] ELEC...TROOOOOODE!
Litten: [pained] LIIIII!
Adrien: Litten, no!
Litten: [as sparks surrounded it; growls in pain]
But Litten wasn't about to give up yet!
Litten: [yowls loudly] LITTEN! [body glows red]

Ash: That's Litten's ability, Blaze!
Pikachu: [agreeing] PIKACHU!
Marinette: Blaze?
Ash: When certain Fire-types are in a pinch, their Fire-type moves power up!
Alya: Whoa!

Alix: This should be good!
Litten: [yowls as its back flares up]
Adrien: Alright, Litten! If you're really willing to continue, then let's use Fire Fang!

Electrode: [hit; pained] TRODE!

Ash: With Blaze activated, Fire Fang was a lot stronger!

Marinette: Sure looked like it!

Alix: And it looks like Electrode seems to be tiring!
Visquez: We're just getting warmed up! Use Sonic Boom!

Adrien: Slice through it with Fury Swipes!

With the swipes of its claws, the Fire Cat Pokémon managed to counter the attack!

Adrien: Use Ember!

Electrode: [irks; red vein] TRODE?! [angry] ELECTRODE!
Electrode's Magnet Rise suddenly stopped!
Visquez: Don't let that pipsqueak get to you, Electrode! Use Magnet Rise!
But Electrode wasn't listening!
Electrode: [rolls after it angrily] ELECTRODE!
Alya: What's up with Electrode?
Marinette: It's gone totally berserk!
Alix: What was that move?
Ash: It looked like Litten was… taunting?
Goh: It was! Litten used Taunt!
Marinette: Taunt?
Goh: When a Pokémon uses Taunt against its opponent, it gets so mad that it's only fixated on using attack moves!
Alix: So that means Magnet Rise is out of commission!
Max: Because it's not an attack move, but a status inducing one!
Goh: Exactly!
Kim: [calls out to Electrode] Take that, "Bomb Ball"! Ha!
Chimchar: [snickering] CHIMCHAR!
Electrode: [crashes near the stands and looks up at Kim; glares menacingly] ELECTRODE!
Kim: [gulps nervously]
Chloe: [rolls her eyes] You earned that by yourself, Kim.
Eevee: VEE?
Visquez: [grunts in frustration] Come on, Electrode! Use Magnet Rise!
But Electrode still wasn't listening as it was still under the effects of Taunt!
Adrien: Sorry, Visquez! All that Electrode is thinking about right now is getting physical!
Visquez: [growls in frustration]
Electrode: [angrily rolling after Litten] TROOOOOODE!
Litten: [dodges] LITTEN!
Adrien and Visquez: Use Ember/Discharge!
Litten: [Ember move] LIT...TEN!
Electrode: [Discharge move] ELEC...TROOOOOODE!
Both attacks collided and resulted in a slight explosion, creating a cloud of smoke! However, some of the Discharge was zigzagging its way over to Litten!
Adrien: Heads up, Litten!
Litten: [dodges] LITTEN!
Visquez: Sonic Boom!
Electrode: [Sonic Boom move] ELEC…TRODE!
Adrien: Dodge and give it another Taunt!
Litten: [dodges] TEN!
Electrode: TRO?
Litten: [shakes its rear end at Electrode; taunting; Taunt move] LIT, LIT, LIT, LIT, LIT, LIT!
Electrode: [angry] ELECTRODE! [Rollout move; rolls after it quickly] LE LE LE LE LE!
Litten: [dodges] LITTEN!
Electrode: [Rollout move; rolls after it very fast and furiously] LE LE LE LE LE!
Adrien: Wait for my signal, Litten!
Litten: [complying] LITTEN!
Electrode was getting closer to Litten by the second!
Alya: Why is Litten just standing there?
Alix: Yo, Litten! If you don't want to get turned into road pizza, then move!
Marinette: [shushes them] Shhh! Adrien knows what he's doing!
Ash: Let's watch.
Adrien: Wait for it... and... JUMP!
Litten: [jumps] LITTEN!
Electrode: [skids to a stop and looks up] ELE?!
Adrien: Let's finish this! Use Fire Fang! As strong and bright as you can!
Litten: [Fire Fang move] LIT...TEN!
Litten's fangs were engulfed in big and bright flames! Electrode went pale by this.
Electrode: [hit; pained] ELECTRODE!
The impact sent Electrode hurling towards the bleachers! It hit the bleachers hard! This caused everyone to shake from the impact of Electrode!
Alix: Whoa! Ey! Watch it!
Marinette: Wah!
Then, the shaking stopped!
Ash: [looks down] Hey, look!
Electrode: [dazed; swirls in eyes] ELECTRODE...
Tony: Electrode is unable to battle! Litten wins! Which means the match goes to Adrien Agreste!
Adrien: [gasps in shock] We won… [laughs in joy and jumps] WE WON!
Litten: [jumps for joy; ecstatic] LITTEN LITTEN! [runs over to Adrien] LIT!
Adrien: Litten!
Litten: [jumps into its trainer's arms] LITTEN!
Adrien: You were amazing, Litten!
Litten: [proud] LITTEN!
Ash: Way to go, Adrien!
Pikachu: [happy; cheering] PIKA PIKACHU!
Goh: Alright!
Grookey: [happy; cheering] GROOKEY KEY!
Chloe: Well done!
Eevee: [happy; cheering] EEVEE! EEVEE!
Nino: You were awesome, dude!
Alya: Woohoo! Go Adrien!
Alix: Yeah!
Rose: [claps] Yay!
Kim: Aw yeah!
Marinette: [ecstatic; gets up from her seat] YES! GO ADRIEN! YOU'RE NUMBER ONE!
This made everyone look at Marinette with Ash smirking!
Marinette: [blushes in embarrassment while sitting back down; grins and giggles nervously]
Ash: Desperate much?
Pikachu: [amused] PIKACHU!
Marinette: [pouts; groans]
Popplio: [claps] POP, POP, POP!
Visquez was surprised that she lost once again, but nonetheless, she was impressed and took out Electrode's PokéBall!
Visquez: [returns Electrode] Electrode, return!
After returning the Ball Pokémon, Visquez approached Adrien.
Visquez: Congratulations, kid! You battled great out there! You're by far one of the best challengers I've had so far!
Adrien: Thank you, Miss Visquez!
Visquez: [pulls out a badge from her pocket] As proof of your victory, I present to you a Thunder Badge!
Adrien: [gasps in awe as she hands it to him]
Visquez: You've earned it!
Adrien: [smiles and nods] Thank you so much! [raises it up high] The Thunder Badge is ours!
Litten: [happy] LITTEN!
Ash: Congratulations, Adrien!
Pikachu: [congratulating] PIKA PIKACHU!
Adrien: Thanks, Ash!
Nino: [wraps an arm around Adrien] My dude, you were AWESOME!
Alya: Yeah! Even Marinette said so!
Adrien: Oh? [turns to her] What did you think, Marinette?

Adrien looked confused by what Marinette just said! But nonetheless, he smiled!
Visquez: [chuckles] Seems to me that you two may be more than just friends!
Marinette: [turns bright red; stammers]

Marinette: ASH! [bonks Ash on the head]

Ash: OW! What did I do?
Marinette: [snarls angrily]
Ash: Uh oh! [makes a run for it out of the gym] Run away!
Marinette: Ash Ketchum! [chases after him] You get back here!
Goh: [chuckles]
Chloe: [deadpans; sweatdrops] Oh brother.
Eevee: EEVEE?
Soon, at the Pokémon Center, Adrien had just gotten Litten and Cubone healed up!
Nurse Joy: [as Chansey wheeled out a stretcher with Litten and Cubone on it] You'll be happy to know that you're Pokémon have completely healed and made a full recovery!
Adrien: Thank you so much, Nurse Joy!
Litten: [happy] LITTEN!
Cubone: [happy] CUBONE!
Adrien: I'm glad you guys are feeling better! You both were amazing out there!
Litten: [proud] LITTEN!
Cubone: [proud] CU!
Ash: Your dad's gonna be so proud of you for your accomplishment in getting a gym badge!
Pikachu: [agreeing] PIKACHU!
Ash: Plus, I think you guys were able to think of ideas for your reports!
Marinette: Absolutely!
Ash: Perfect!
Kim: I know what mine's gonna be on! [throws air punches] How we hilariously kicked Team Rocket's sorry butts!
Chimchar: [agreeing; throws air punches] CHIMCHAR CHIM!
Alya: I'm doing my report on all the Pokémon we saw this weekend!
Nino: How me and Squirtle were destined to be homies!
Ivan: I'm gonna write mine on me catching Tauros!
Mylène: I think I'll do mine on my first Pokémon Battle!
Rose: [folds her hands against her cheek] Mine will be about all the cute and adorable Pokémon we played with!

Alya: BTWs, what should our next gym battle be?
Ash: I'm afraid we won't be able to have another gym battle this weekend, Alya! Our weekend trip is coming to an end! And you guys need to get your reports written! Come tomorrow afternoon, we'll be heading back to Paris!
Pikachu: [agreeing] PIKACHU!
Goh: Yep!
Kim: [slumps in disappointment] Aw, man! I was hoping I'd get to have one and earn a Gym Badge!
Alix: Kim, don't start this again! I'M gonna challenge a gym before you do!

Alix: You only have one Pokémon! You wouldn't last five minutes with just your Chimchar! Give seconds even!

Ash: Hey! You know the deal we made when Alix got akumatized, Kim! You lost the race against Alix! So it's no more dares for you for a whole year!
Kim: [eyes widen in realization; slumps in disappointment; moans]
Chimchar: [scratches his head in confusion] CHIMCHAR?
Ash: Now, come on! Let's head back to the lab and you guys can get your stories written!
Then, everyone began to leave the Pokémon Center!
Nurse Joy: Come back any time!
Marinette: [smiles and waves] We will, Nurse Joy! Thank you!
And with that, they left!
Ash: [smirks cheekily; dashes ahead] Last one to the lab is a rotten Exeggcute!
Goh: Ash! Hey!
Marinette: [while running after Ash with Goh following in pursuit] No fair, Ash! You started first! Why do you always keep doing that?!
Ash: [chuckles]
Juleka: [giggles and runs after him]
Alya: He's a stinker!
Nino: [chuckles] He sure is!
Then, they all ran after Ash! So did their Pokémon!
