We then hung up. I know what was bothering her. I just need time to do something before her wish comes true.

*Tris's POV*

The break has been a blast. It's still not over yet. I know my friends are having a fun time. They love it here. Mostly, they love Granny's Cafe. I know they would love it there. They are also trying to figure out who the shadow man is. It's something I must say.

Since this break began, four of us have been in contact daily through text or call. Most of the time, it's talking on the phone. I won't lie. Those moments are the things I look forward to in my day.

Today we are all going shopping for gifts and everything. This is going to be interesting. I have a longer list to buy for. So, I should get started. We were in a small shop. I was looking at a few items. Chris was beside me.

"So, even if he's not here. Are you still buying Four a gift?" She asked me.

"Yes. I can give it to him when we get back to school." I told her.

"Oh, how sweet. What if Four doesn't get you something?" She asked me.

"I don't care." I told her.

"That the Abnegation in you." She told me. We then started to laugh.

I walked away to look more into the store. I then heard my phone buzzed. I went searching in my purse. I finally found it. I looked at it to see Four was calling me. I couldn't help but smile. Speak of the devil.

"Hey, Four." I said when I answered.

"Hey, you. What's going on?" He asked me.

"You know, Christmas shopping with our hellion friends." I told him.

I heard him laughing at my comment. He then said,

"Oh, that is so much fun. Hope they are not causing too much trouble." He told me.

I snickered a little bit at his comment. I then said,

"Surprisely, they are behaving. But I think I may fear what they are buying."

"I know I would. These are Dauntless. Never good." He told me.

"So, what's going on with you?" I asked him.

"You know, enjoying winter break. But feel like something is missing." He told me.

"Really? What's missing?" I asked him.

He didn't answer right away. He must be thinking about his answer. I could hear him breathing on the other line. He then said,

"You."

I now know my cheeks are turning hot, and I have a massive grin. He misses me. I then said,

"I miss you too. But I will have a gift to give you when we see each other again." I told him truthfully.

"Okay. I have one for you too." He told me.

I could see everyone getting ready to leave. I was all right with it. I was done looking in this store anyway. I got what I wanted. I then headed to the front desk to check out. I then said,

"Okay then. So, we will exchange when we get back to school."

"Yeah. When we see each other again." He told me.

"Deal. When we see each other again." I told him.

"Okay. I will let you go. You must be busy right now. I will talk to you later." He told me.

"Okay. Have a good winter break, Four." I told him.

"You too, Tris. See you ever soon." He told me. Then the line went dead.

I checked out and met everyone outside. They were all looking at me. I bet my cheeks are still red as hell, and I have a massive smile. I just looked away from them and headed to the next stop. But I know that this won't be the end of it.

"So, who was on the honey?" My mother asked me.

"Four." I told her.

"Awe. How sweet of him to check in." She said. I know she likes Four. Ever since she met him on parent visiting day,

"Yeah." I said. We just left it there.

When we got done shopping, we went home. It was a nice day. Everyone had fun and enjoyed it. But I think they enjoyed teasing me the most. I know they won't leave it. We were all now just hanging out in the living room. Even Celeb and his friends came and joined us from their hiding place.

Dinner was almost done. I couldn't get something out of my head. Something Four said to me. He told me we will be seeing each other soon. But winter break wasn't over just yet. I am sitting by the window seal. It was one of my favorite places.

I know I wasn't paying any attention to the conventions everyone else was having. I was looking out the window, daydreaming. I was pulled out of my daydream when I thought I saw something outside. Or a person.

I got up and headed to the door. I didn't grab a jacket or anything. I just quickly split on some shoes and headed out. I could hear everyone else questioning me and everything. But I ignored them. I then got outside, and I saw the person better. It was the one person I thought I wouldn't know until we got back to school. I then said,

"Four?"

He stopped where he was standing. He didn't say a word. He just stood there. Not moving. I know it was him. What was he doing here? I thought he was traveling. I then said again,

"Four?"

I got closer to him. I touched his shoulder. He then turned around and smiled at me. He said,

"Hello, Tris."

"What are you doing here? I thought you were traveling." I asked him.

"I was. But remember, I travel until I feel I found the right spot. Well, this is the right spot. I was going to surprise you and everyone tomorrow." He told me.

*Four's POV*

I can't believe she finally caught me. For how long I have been here. This is the moment I slip. I should be proud of her. Trust me, I am. She used her Dauntless skills amazingly. I smiled at her. I saw that she didn't have a jacket on. I slide my coat off. I put it over her shoulder. I don't want her to freeze.

"Come on. Let's get you inside before you freeze." I said, leading her to her house.

When I got to Tris' place. I got her inside, and everyone was surprised to see me. But I know Lauran and Zeke weren't that surprised. They know my plans for everything.

"Oh Four. What a surprise." Her mother said.

"Hello there, Mrs. Prior." I said.

"Come on it. Get out of the cold." She said.

I walked into the house. I know I will need to sneak away to get my things. I will figure something out.

"Four, where are you staying?" She asked me.

"I am staying at a motel not that far for the night. I was going to surprise everyone tomorrow, but things might change." I said.

"What about you going to get your things? Also, your money. You can stay here." She told me.

She is the person that won't take no for an answer. But that's fine with me. I then said,

"I will be back then. It shouldn't take me that long. Zeke, will you come and help me?" I asked him.

"We will be back before dinner." Zeke said. We then headed out the door.

We walked for a bit. I led him to the treehouse. I climbed up the ladder and started to throw my things down. Luckily, I don't have a lot of stuff.

"Hey, man. What happened to the plan? You are surprising her on Christmas." Zeke asked me.

"That was the main thing. But she caught me." I told him.

"Luckily, you had a fake story to use." He told me.

"Yeah. But I don't know how many more fake stories I can use on her. She is someone different." I told him.

He didn't say anything after that. We grabbed my things and then headed back to Tris's place. We walked in silence. I had a lot to think about anyway. I want her to know. I just don't know when. She deserves to know.
