Chapter 94

[Silence]

The next day had come and Sora and Izuku were attending class today, as they weren't called in for Work Studies today. The Keyblade wielder sat quietly in his seat, pondering about what had happened yesterday. After the work studies, Midoriya had just been down and Sora was unable to help his friend out. That, coupled with the lack of help he was in pinning the recent events to the Hassaikai, made the boy feel a little down as well. For his first day as an official Hero, he didn't feel like he actually accomplished anything worthy of that claim. This wasn't like in San Fransokyo or Olympus, where the problems were something that he could just swing his Keyblade at and fix. And while he did learn deductive reasoning, it was nowhere near his specialty.

"Sora?" The boy suddenly heard one of his classmates say his name and he snapped himself up before seeing Momo looking at him. She then spoke to him again. "Are you alright?"

"Hm? Oh...uh...yeah." The Keyblade wielder told her. "Just thinking about stuff."

[Play FF7 Remake OST Jessie's Theme]

Yaoyorozu could see through Sora's half truth. "Must be depressing, whatever it is you're thinking about." She said. "Do you want to talk about it?"

"Eh, I don't want to bring down your mood." The Keyblade wielder replied.

"You not genuinely smiling will bring my mood down more than you not letting me know what's wrong." The 1-A Deputy pointed out.

Sora shrugged and silently admitted to that fair point before sighing and giving her an answer. "I just don't feel like I accomplished anything yesterday. It was my first day as a Hero, at least officially. And all I did was look around a crime scene and not find anything to pin to the guys that we thought were behind it."

"Were you expecting to be flying around the city, running into a bad guy causing trouble, then swooping in to save the day?" Momo asked.

"No. Nothing that crazy on the first day." The Keyblade wielder answered. "But, I was hoping to at least be a little useful. I mean, I learned that detective stuff for a reason, but..." He sighed. Sure, finding bloody glasses was useful, but that wasn't enough for him to see it as meaningful.

Yaoyorozu placed her hand on his and she gave him some words of encouragement. "We all have times where we feel like we should be doing more. So much so that we don't realize all that we've already done. Don't beat yourself up because you thought you could do more. Focus on what you did manage to accomplish, and how you'll continue to do better next time." She gripped Sora's hand a bit tighter before sending it home. "Sora, You have always done such amazing things, and you still do. Don't ever doubt yourself. Not after everything you've done to get as far as you have."

Hearing that last part made Sora remember when he said those exact same words to her, back when she was doubting herself during the practical exams. She was even holding his hand the same way he held hers when he said those words. The Keyblade wielder let out a light chuckle. "Using my own words against me."

"Good advice is good advice." The Class Deputy said to him. "We all need a reminder sometimes."

Sora let out a breath he didn't even know he was holding in before a warm smile appeared on his face. "Thank's Momo, really. I didn't know I needed that."

"Anytime, Sora." Yaoyorozu returned the warmth with a smile of her own. "It's what friends are for." After that, the two stopped holding hands and both looked towards Tenya, who was doing a headcount of the class to see who was missing, as some seats were empty. He also took notice of a certain explosive student looking like he was recovering from another fight.

[Silence]

Mina noticed it too and felt the need to point it out. "So, like...what happened to Bakugo? Was he fighting again?"

"He's not the only one busted up." Denki pointed out. "Look at the back of the room."

Sure enough, Shoto was also in a similar condition, and Ashido was shocked. "His beautiful face! Who would do such a thing?"

"The provisional license classes sure sound tough." Kaminari noted.

"Must be great workouts though." The pink girl commented.

"STOP TALKING LIKE I'M NOT HERE!" Katsuki barked out in his classic Bakugo fashion.

Iida finished his head count and announced to the others, "Class is starting now! Sadly, I must mark Tsu and Uraraka as tardy."

"Their absences are excused." Momo spoke up in the girls' defense.

"Kirishima isn't here either, is he?" Kyouka noticed.

"Oh, you didn't hear? Those three found places to do Work Studies." Hanta explained.

"Whoa, for real?" Jiro was surprised.

"Hey, how'd your work study go?" Minoru asked Izuku. "Were there lots of scantily clad heroines at the agency, huh?"

"Yeah, sure." Midoriya wasn't really paying attention to him, still looking down.

"I DON'T WANT TO HEAR YOU ABOUT GETTING AHEAD OF ME!" Katsuki yelled out as he covered his ears.

At that point, Homeroom began, and school went on normally for everyone present...except for Izuku. Sora could tell that Midoriya was unable to fully concentrate during class and made a mental note to talk to him either during lunch or after classes were finished for the day.

Once lunch had arrived and 1-A was getting their food, The Keyblade wielder sat next to the One For All user and decided to break the ice while they were still alone. "You still thinking about Eri?"

"No, well...yes, but that's not what's gotten me so frustrated." Izuku answered.

"Was it what Sir said?" Sora guessed. "Did he get to you that much?"

"It's not that Sir got to me. It's that All Might didn't warn me about it." Midoriya explained. "He kept it a secret from me. How am I supposed to succeed him if I don't know everything?"

The Keyblade wielder was glad that the two were alone at the moment, as he gave his friend his thoughts on the situation. "Maybe he didn't want to dump everything out all at once."

"That didn't stop Nighteye from doing that, then being rejected and told that not only Togata, but that you were a better choice." Izuku said.

[Play KH2 OST Missing You]

Sora did a double take when he heard that. "He said what?"

"That you and Togata were better candidates." Midoriya admitted.

It took the Keyblade wielder a moment to let that register. Sir basically told Izuku that compared to him, Midoriya was nowhere close to worthy of the power he had earned. That had angered Sora, because he saw his friend put in the work, watched him uphold the values that make someone a real Hero, and overcome the obstacles put in front of him to get to the level he was at today. After taking a second to calm down, he responded to his friend's comment. "Yeah, well he didn't see the work you put in to get to where you are now."

"What?" Izuku questioned what his friend was talking about.

"Sir didn't see you clean up a coastline full of heavy garbage. He didn't see you pass the entrance exam. He didn't see you fight during U.S.J. He didn't see you take on Stain, or that Magnet guy on I Island, or Muscular, or rescue Katsuki from the League." Sora listed off the accomplishments of his friend. "Sure, Mirio's been a Hero for longer than you, and yeah I may have experience being a Hero too, but you were chosen by Yagi. I'm pretty sure his vouch is more valid than anyone else's."

That seemed to help ease Midoriya's frustrations, but he still needed answers. "Thanks Sora, but I think I need to talk to All Might about this after school. I need to hear his perspective and get the answers that I can only get from him."

"That would be a good idea." Sora agreed to that. "And after that, maybe you and I can go do that training against Data Vanitas that you wanted to do after you got into that fight with Katsuki."

"We'll see how I feel after I talk with All Might." Izuku told him. "But, thanks for the offer. If I feel like it, I'll take you up on it."

Sora smiled and gave his friend a thumbs up before the pair joined the others that they would normally sit with at lunch and ate their food together.

[Silence]

Meanwhile, with the League of Villains, Giran had arrived in the abandoned building that the group was hiding in, and saw who he was looking for. "Yeesh. He looks like crap." He commented. "How bad is it under the suit?"

"Vanitas stopped the bleeding, but aside from that..." Spinner let the black market merchant see the damage done to Mr. Compress.

[Play KH3 OST Organization XIII -cutscene-]

"Hmm. At least it's a clean amputation." Giran commented. "That'll make the procedure of attaching a prosthetic easier and less costly. Speaking of that, it is going to cost you, Shigaraki."

"Here." Tomura kicked over a briefcase that the merchant opened to see a substantial amount of cash in it.

"Where were you hiding this?" Giran wondered.

"Doesn't matter now, since it's yours. Use the money in there to pay for Compress' arm and procedure." Shigaraki told him.

The black market merchant didn't question it and simply took the case, took a few pictures of Compress' injuries and went to take his leave. "There's a place close by that might have what he needs. If I find it there, I'll be back by sundown."

"And if not?" Himiko asked, sharpening her knife to keep herself busy.

"Two days at most." Giran gave her his time window before tossing the group a fresh bandage roll that Twice caught. "Till then, keep that arm bandaged. We don't want the stub to get infected." Twice nodded at that, and went bandage up his comrade's injury with the clean roll.

At that point, Tomura received a call, and he answered it. "What is it?" He said to the caller before receiving an answer. "Right now?" He said before the caller replied once more to him. "Are you outside?" He asked. Once he got his answer, he spoke up once more. "I'm on my way now." He hung up the phone. "I'll be back."

"The Hassaikai want to talk again?" Spinner guessed.

"And I'll indulge them for now." The League Leader confirmed. "All of you stay here and rest. I'll be back."

"Not taking Vanitas with you this time?" Dabi pointed out.

"Not this time." Tomura said before leaving the group alone in the room together.

After a few minutes had passed by, Toga had finished sharpening her knife and looked at Compress, who was being helped by Twice at the moment. She wasn't wearing her usual gleeful expression, as she was still angry at what happened to her comrade, so much so that seeing his condition made her scowl.

But then she felt someone tap her shoulder and she turned to see Vanitas, now standing next to her. "Come on." He told her before turning to walk out of the room.

"Didn't Shigaraki say..." She began to speak.

"We're not leaving the building." The Dark Remnant told her.

She didn't know what he was up to, but she decided to just follow him at this point. She didn't have anything else to do at the moment, and she needed to get out of that room anyway, lest she keep seeing her injured and crippled ally.

The pair of Villains soon reached a room that was empty, aside from one old clothing chest that Vanitas had made his way towards, prompting Himiko to ask "So what's the reason you brought me here?"

"This." The Dark Remnant replied, before tossing something to her. She caught the object and was surprised to see what it was. It looked like Sora's Kingdom Key, but made out of wood carvings and vines acting as strings to tie the pieces together. "This looks like...did you...?"

"Get into his stance." Vanitas instructed her, avoiding the question that she was about to ask, before pulling out a second wooden Keyblade, this one being carved and tied up to look like Void Gear. "You're going to practice fighting as Sora. I'm going to be your opponent."

Toga was honestly even more surprised with the Dark Remnant now. Normally she's the one who would get him to do this with her, and even then, she would have to convince him to do this. This was the first time he's ever approached her and opted to do something with her. It made her feel less bitter right now. She held the wooden sword in both hands and got into Sora's battle stance. "Ready when you are." She told him.

Vanitas got into his battle stance. "Then come at me."

[Silence]

Back at U.A. High, the remaining classes went by, although Midoriya still wasn't fully able to concentrate on them, and 1-A was once again back in Gym Gamma. While everyone was working on their own skills, Sora was practicing with his Chain Attacks some more. After practicing some grappling line techniques and combo extenders with it, he looked around and saw his classmates doing their own stuff. He saw Kyouka practicing her Heartbeat distortion technique, and then the Keyblade wielder wondered something. "Hmm. Could I make an Ultimate Combo with her?"

Putting some thought into it, Jiro could probably link up to Sora using her earphone jacks. But how could they make a skill out of that? And where would she need to connect her jack into in order for that to work? Sora summoned the Kingdom Key and looked at it from multiple angles. Maybe she could connect it to the Keyblade somehow, but the pair would have to be basically back to back or shoulder to shoulder for that to work.

Also, what would Sora do in order for Jiro to be compatible with him? He took a minute to think about it, and after some serious pondering, he snapped his fingers in realization. "Stitch's ukulele trick I did with him. Maybe, if I change it up..." Sora switched from the Kingdom Key to Two Become One and held it like it was a guitar. "It's been a while since I've done it, but let's see if I can still do it." He closed his eyes, took a breath, concentrated and began to stroke the Keyblade like it was a guitar, and to his surprise, he could hear strings being played on it, even though none were actually visible. "Alright. Now let's see if I can..." He focused and thought about a guitar that would fit more along Jiro's style, after a few minutes of concentration, and a few more strokes on the Keyblade, the ukulele strings were now sounding like the strings of an electric guitar. "Oh, I can." Sora said with a proud smirk on his face. He practiced with the electric guitar style of his Keyblade's musical abilities and once he managed to figure out what he wanted to play and how to play it, 1-A's assigned time in Gym Gamma was almost up. It was now or never.

Kyouka was just finished with her practice when she noticed the Keyblade wielder approaching her. "Hm? You need something, Sora?"

"Yeah. I wanted to show you something." The boy answered as he held Two Become One like it was a guitar. "Check this out." He then stroked the Keyblade and played a few chords in front of Jiro, who's eyes widened from that.

"Wait. You can do that?" She said with a dumbfounded expression as she looked at Sora making music with his weapon.

"I know. Cool, right?" The Keyblade wielder said as he did a guitar solo.

Kyouka noticed his hand motions and could see that while he wasn't actually doing the correct motions, the sounds from the Keyblade still translated to something that was in key and rhythm. "Do you still want those guitar lessons from me, since you can do this now?" She wondered.

"Oh yeah. I still want to learn how to actually play the real thing." Sora confirmed. "But I just thought that this would be cool to show you, and also see if we could maybe come up with an Ultimate Combo together with this?"

"An Ultimate Combo? You and me?" Jiro was surprised that she'd be considered as a compatible partner for one of those.

"Yeah. Imagine it. Wouldn't it be cool?" The Keyblade wielder said. "A musical themed combo move with us would be awesome."

"Hmm." Kyouka clammed up a little bit, as she was a little embarrassed with the idea, but at the same time, a duet with Sora would be way too cool to say no to. "Let me see the Keyblade."

Sora held it up to her. "Sure thing."

She inspected the weapon for a bit before taking her left earplug and slotting it into where Sora's Chain connected to the base of the blade. "Okay. I'm connected. Try playing a chord."

"Sure thing." The Keyblade wielder did as instructed and strummed Two Become One. When he did, the noise was numbed a bit, which surprised him. "Huh?" He strummed it again, and the same thing happened.

"Ah~" Moaned Kyouka, before she quickly covered her mouth as her cheeks blushed red.

"What the?" Sora had heard that and saw Jiro cover her face in embarrassment. "Wait a second. Kyouka, can you feel the chords when I play them?" She did not answer that, as she was still covering her face from the embarrassment, but then the Keyblade wielder got his answer when he strummed his Keyblade a few more times and saw her react to it with a shiver and a muffled moan. "You do?" He was surprised, but then he had an idea. "Wait a second. If the music is going into you, and your quirk lets you send out the sounds inside you from your speakers..."

Jiro heard what he was saying and soon realized what he was getting at. She uncovered her face and spoke up. "You think that I can send out the sounds that you play when I'm plugged into your Keyblade?"

"Plug your other earphone jack into one of your speakers." Sora told her. Once Kyouka slotted her right earphone jack into her right hand speaker, the Keyblade wielder prepared to play, but looked to his classmate for assurance. "You ready?"

Although hesitant, she nodded. "Do it."

Sora noticed an ectoplasm clone a few meters away, and he pointed to it, while Jiro aimed her hand speaker towards it. Sora then played a chord and it went from his blade, through Kyouka, and out through her plugged in speaker, making a sound wave with the tune of that chord. It traveled fast and struck the clone, leaving it staggered temporarily. The two students looked in awe at what they just did. "It works." The Keyblade wielder said.

"It really worked." Jiro said as well, equally as surprised. "And I don't feel as tingly when we do it like that."

"I was gonna ask about that." Sora pointed out. "How are you feeling?"

"The tingle was still there, but not as intense." Kyouka answered.

"You think we could do a combo with this?" The boy asked her.

"What do you have in mind?" The punk rock girl was open to the idea.

[Silence]

Once Sora and Kyouka had a game plan for what they wanted to do, it was about time for 1-B to arrive. Thankfully, the pair had managed to convince Ectoplasm to make a dozen clones for them to try their new move out, but they only had the one attempt to do it. 1-A also took notice of this and a good few of them decided to watch from where they were at, curious to see what new crazy combo move that Sora was going to have. As the pair in question did a fist bump and Jiro linked herself with Sora's Keyblade using her left earphone jack, then plugging in her right earphone jack to her right hand speaker, the two leaned on each other's backs and Jiro did a count "One, Two, Three, Four!"

[Play FF7 Advent Children OST Those Who Fight]

Sora then began to play his Keyblade like he was using an electric guitar, and the chords came out through Kyouka's speaker, blasting towards the clones in front of her, which made them all stagger back and drop to their knees from the intensity. It didn't burst their eardrums, but the force of the sonic wave was enough to knock them down. "Oh yeah!" Sora cheered at the success, before noticing other clones rushing towards them. "No you don't." He enveloped himself and Jiro in his flowmotion and the pair hovered up in the air. "Kyouka, aim down."

"Got it." She did as instructed and pointed her speaker down to the ground, and the sonic wave began to make a shockwave that blasted all around the pair, forcing the ectoplasm clones to stop in their tracks and stagger to their knees. "It's working!"

Sora then notices something else. "The sound is traveling all around the Gym, but only the clones are getting affected." He pointed out as once the sonic boom had hit the other students and teachers, the only one getting affected at the moment was ectoplasm. Then it made the Keyblade wielder realize something. Just like with Stitch when he did it, it only affected who he wanted it to affect. "Can we control who gets affected by it?"

"Let's find out." Kyouka said as she then thought about wanting to hit Minoru and Denki with it, and once she did, those two 1-A boys specifically started to feel the effects and staggered to their knees. "Oh, we totally can!" She stopped thinking about hurting those two and they stopped feeling the effects. "Shred those chords, Sora!" She cheered, feeling like a power house.

"You got it Kyouka!" Sora happily obliged, going to town with Two Become One, continuing to play and make the soundwave echo throughout the entirety of Gym Gamma. As he did so, the blade began to emanate an aura that looked like musical notes, which reminded him of when he and Riku had made a harmony together in one of the Sleeping worlds. "This is so cool! You got a name for this?"

"Power Chord!" Jiro answered from the top of her lungs. "It fits the style!"

"No arguments there!" The Keyblade wielder agreed with her as he kept playing his Keyblade.

[Silence]

Once the pair got that out of their system, Sora set himself and his partner back down on the ground, and let Kyouka unplug herself from his Keyblade before he unsummoned it. Jiro then spoke up. "I've gotta admit, I didn't think that we could do something like that."

"The combo move, or controlling who gets affected by your sound waves?" The Keyblade wielder wondered.

"The latter." The punk rock girl answered. "How was that possible?"

[Play Boku no Hero Academia OST U.A. Corridors]

"Well, you know how Demyx could play his music and control how water worked through it?" Sora stated.

"How does controlling water through music have anything to do with what we did?" Kyouka questioned.

"Think about it. His music controlled what was around him." Sora explained. "Who's to say that we can't do the same thing? I mean, my whole thing is being a control point whenever we do these Ultimate Combos, remember?"

Putting it into perspective, Jiro saw Sora's point. Denki can't control where to discharge his electricity, but Sora could guide it, when they put their powers together. Shoto can't form ice out of thin air and control it after he makes it, but if he works with Sora, the pair can control the ice when they put their powers together. "You're right. So while you play the sounds, and I amplify them, We can choose who gets affected and who doesn't. So it won't affect whoever we're working with, and it'll stun whoever we want it to affect." She summarized.

"This move will be so amazing to fight Heartless with." The Keyblade wielder said. "We just jam out, and target just the Heartless, and all of a sudden, they can't move or fight back against the others."

"That's true. And it would make arrests and detaining Villains much easier." Kyouka added.

"Not to mention the fun we'll have just playing music while being Heroes." Sora also added.

"Oh, one hundred percent." Jiro agreed to that.

"Speaking of that, how did I do, mimicking the motions?" The Keyblade wielder wondered.

The Punk Rock girl put a hand on his shoulder and looked him in the eyes. "Sora, we're friends, but if you stroked the way you did on a real electric guitar, you'd sound like a dying car engine."

Sora gripped his chest and stepped back. "Ough!" He felt that hit him right in the heart. "I forgot how brutally honest you are." He quickly recovered from that and stood straight again. "Well, at least you know what you're getting into if we ever start those guitar lessons. Speaking of that, when do you want to start teaching me, Kyouka?"

"You pick a day and I'll make time for you." Jiro answered. "We'll do it after classes are over."

"Sweet! I'll let you know when I have time." The Keyblade wielder was excited to learn how to play an actual acoustic guitar, and while she didn't show it, Kyouka was also happy to show him the ropes.

[Silence]

Back with the Villains, Himiko skidded to a halt after being pushed back from an attack that Vanitas had sent her way. She sweated and panted from the effort that she was putting in, but she had a determined look in her eyes that the Dark Remnant could see. A silhouette attempted to slash her in the back, but she dodge rolled towards Vanitas and went for a thrust that he saw coming and paired away from him, before smacking the wooden Kingdom Key out of her hands and catching it in his free hand. Her expression changed from determined to exhausted as she dropped to her knees, knowing that the match was over. She expected to hear some criticism from the Dark Remnant, but then she heard these words instead.

[Play KH3 OST Scala ad Caelum]

"You're improving." He told her.

Toga looked at him, having a surprised and confused expression on her face. He didn't tell her what she did wrong. He didn't say that she was bad. He said that she was getting better. "...Is that it?" She asked him.

"Just keep working on your form, and speed up the pace of your attacks." Vanitas advised her, before putting the wooden Keyblades away.

Himiko was genuinely taken aback. For the first time that she has known, Vanitas isn't acting like a rude jerk to her. "Sure. Thanks for the advice." She replied, before having a small smile on her face.

The Dark Remnant then turned around and pointed to her before speaking up again. "Tell anyone about this, and I will jam those wooden swords down your throat before setting them on fire inside you."

There's the Vanitas she knows. She let out a small giggle before replying to him. "My lips are sealed...IF you start coming to me to train more often."

The Dark Remnant let out an annoyed grumble before speaking up again. "...Fine, but don't have any high expectations."

Once the pair made their way back to the room where the others were, they saw Giran there, this time with a prosthetic arm that he was holding in front of Mr. Compress for him to inspect. Toga's smile got bigger, as she was now seeing her comrade get the help he needed, and she spoke up. "You weren't kidding when you said sundown." She commented as she took a seat on top of an old desk that was next to Compress, while Vanitas leaned on the wall next to the doorway that entered this room.

"It's good business to give an accurate time table." The black market merchant told her. "Speaking of, where's your boss? Figured I'd see if there was anything else he needed after I finish up with this."

"He was called to talk to the Hassaikai." Dabi answered. "Don't know when he'll be..." The sound of a door was heard and footsteps were heard. The steps got louder and louder until Tomura himself walked in. "Back again, I see."

[Silence]

Tomura ignored that comment and spoke up. "I've got an assignment for some of you." The League was all ears at the moment. "Himiko, Jin, Vanitas. You'll be going to the Hassaikai headquarters to introduce yourselves and work with them as temporary members."

Twice was the first one to respond to that. "You want us to work with the Hassaikai?"

"Yeah. Why do I have to keep repeating it?" Shigaraki answered. "Their plan has some serious potential. So from today on, Toga, Twice and Vanitas will be Yakuza members."

"I don't find this joke humorous...THAT'S HILARIOUS, SHIGARAKI!" Twice replied.

"They wanted Kurogiri too, but I held out." Tomura pointed out walking just past the S rank Villain. "He's got his own job to do right now, so there's no way I can spare him. It's too important. There's an underground route you can take to..."

[Play Boku no Hero Academia OST I'll Be Back]

Twice interrupted the League Leader, putting a hand on his shoulder and speaking out of turn. "WHAT ARE YOU THINKING WITH THIS CRAP? STOP PRETENDING EVERYTHING IS COOL. WHY ARE YOU LETTING THIS BEAK FACED LOSER GIVE YOU ORDERS? HE KILLED BIG SIS MAG. AND HE TOOK MR. COMPRESS' ARM! DID YOU JUST FORGET?" The split personality Villain then had a crack in his voice as he let his frustrations out. "And it's all my fault. I BROUGHT HIM TO MEET WITH YOU." He lifted his mask showing his face as he was on the cusp of crying. "I may be a Villain, but I'm human too. WE ALL ARE, MAN." He looked at Himiko. "Come on, Toga. Don't you agree with me?"

The school girl themed Villain got off of the desk she was sitting on and approached her leader. "The question I've got for you, Tomura, is what we mean to you." She gave her opinion now. "To me, the League is a place where I feel at home. I joined you because of Mr. Stainy. To make the world a place where I can do whatever I want and live freely. It'd be such a bummer to get distracted from my goal." She put her sharpened knife next to his throat. "I guess what I'm wondering is, why should I do something I don't want to do with people I want to cut?"

Shigaraki didn't react to the knife at his neck, and as both Himiko and Jin were in front of him, he did something that surprised them. He calmly and slowly removed the hand that obscured his face, and let them see his calm yet intimidating expression. "It's simple. Because, this is for all of us. They want to keep the League in check, so they'll try to win you three over, little by little." He then told them what he wanted them to do. "I want you to infiltrate them. Flatter them. But never forget, they're beneath us." Toga moved her knife away from her leader's neck, while Vanitas walked over to them and stood in the middle of her and Twice. Tomura looked at Jin. "Twice, you said they have to pay for what they did. We'll make sure they do. This will work. I believe in you guys."

[Play KH3 OST Dual Hearts]

"Then what are we waiting for?" Vanitas replied, and in yet another surprising moment for Toga and Twice, they saw that familiar orange glow around the Dark Remnant's mask before it faded and the pair got to see his face as well. He had a sinisterly confident, yet also somewhat inspiring grin on his face as he looked at the two of them and said "Let's see what we can bring to the table. Himiko, Jin, let's go."

Both of them nodded their heads in agreement, and as Vanitas grabbed his cloak and put it on, he once again covered his face with his mask, while Shigaraki put the hand he had removed back on his face. They were ready for whatever happened next. Tomura had faith that those three would do what they do best, and those three were ready to go.

[Silence]

Back with the Heroes, the afterhours of school went by as usual, and while Izuku went to the teacher's lounge to go find Toshinori, Sora had gone to the Development Studio, where he met up with Moogle and the pair went to the Auditory Room together for Sora to continue his training against Data Vanitas. Considering that the Hassaikai had a run-in with the League of Villains, there was a chance that Sora would encounter his 'brother' once more. So he had to be ready for that.

Once he was transferred into the datascape, the Data Vanitas soon formed in front of him, and got into his battle stance. "Try not to disappoint the people you keep failing." Sora ignored the remark, summoned Oblivion and got into his battle stance. The two stared each other down for a brief moment, sizing eachother up for the umpteenth time before they both made their moves.

[Play KH3 OST Unforgettable]

The Dark Remnant replica summoned its black barrier around himself and sent out multiple silhouettes to attack the Warrior of Light one after another. The first one went for an overhead strike that was dodged. Then the second one went for a horizontal slash that was avoided. The third one went for an upward slash that was sidestepped. The fourth one went for another upward slash that was dodged. The fifth one went for another horizontal slash that was ducked under. The sixth one went for an overhead slash that was avoided. The seventh one went for an upward slash that was dodged.

The the black barrier was gone and Data Vanitas warped behind Sora to try and strike him, but the Warrior of Light saw this coming and quickly spun around slashing at his opponent, who was able to get his guard up in time, blocking the attack, but he was still pushed away as Sora swung his Keyblade with great force.

As The Warrior of Light took aim, he shot out a Fira spell that made its way towards the Dark Remnant replica, who countered this with a Dark Blizzard spell, canceling the magic out and making a cloud of steam from the two spells colliding. Data Vanitas then saw Sora blitzed through the steam cloud and swing at him again, but he was quick enough to parry the attack and grab his 'brother' by the hair, swing him around and throw him to the ground, before warping to where he threw him and follow up with a strong horizontal slash.

To the Dark Remnant replica's surprise however, Sora had managed to get his blade up and resist the attack. He was still pushed back, but he wasn't flung away by the attack, instead skidding on his shoes as he had managed to get a solid stance when he defended himself. "You think you're getting better?" Data Vanitas scoffed.

"I know I am." Sora responded as he held Oblivion in reverse grip, blitzed towards his opponent with his flowmotion and swung his blade hard enough to push the Dark Remnant replica away. But the Warrior of Light instantly followed up by summoning his chain and thrusting it towards his opponent. The chain went straight through one of the openings in the handle of Void Gear and the kunai tip of the magic chain had pierced through Data Vanitas' shoulder catching him off guard.

Sora then yanked the chain towards him and pulled his opponent back towards him. Data Vanitas was surprised to see this, but he recovered from the shock quickly enough to warp away from Sora attempting to stab him though the other shoulder, and reappear behind the Warrior of Light and go for an Dark Blizzard infused downward strike, which Sora quickly dodged. The Warrior of Light held his blade normally again, and saw Vanitas quickly circle around Sora, making ten dark crystal projectiles around the boy. The crystals quickly converged towards the center, where Sora was, but the boy blitzed forward with his flowmotion, avoiding the crystals and closing the distance between himself and Data Vanitas once more.

The Dark Remnant replica went to swing at the Warrior of light, but Sora ducked under the attack and landed a strike on Data Vanitas. In response, The Dark Remnant replica warped away and went for another back attack, only to be surprised when Sora turned around and struck him again, anticipating Data Vanitas' attack and countering it. He actually was improving. Having enough of this, he grabbed Sora's Keyblade and yanked it, and Sora towards him, and the Dark Remnant replica then slashed at Sora with a Dark Thunder infused slash from Void Gear, shocking the Warrior of Light and leaving him open to a series of slashes and thrusts that messed him up.

[Silence]

Sora was flung away and suddenly the datascape was reverting back into ones and zeroes as he was taken out of it and he flew to the other end of the Monetary Room, hitting his back against the wall before sliding down it and landing on his rear. "Ow." He uttered out before he pushed himself up to his feet and managed to cast cure on himself. "At least I've figured out most of his patterns now."

"Yeah, Kupo." Moogle noted. "Now you just need to figure out how to recover from when he starts beating on you, Kupo."

"Yeah, I do need to figure that out." The Keyblade wielder agreed. "I just need to make sure that when I do recover, he can't just throw me back into another beating. Or if I attack while I recover, I'm not leaving myself open to him counter attacking." Once he was ready to go he gave the thumbs up to Moogle and stepped back on the platform to get back into the datascape.

After a few more attempts were made, all of which ended with Sora being pulled out after taking too much of a beating for him to continue the fight, Both Izuku and Toshinori walked into the Monetary room together, and saw the Keyblade wielder push himself to his feet and cast cure to heal himself. "Well, it looks like Young Sora is still hard at work."

The boy then noticed the two One For All users in the room. "Oh, hey. How'd your talk go?"

"It went well." Yagi answered.

"Hey, Sora? Do you mind if I ask you something?" Midoriya spoke up. "I'd like your opinion on something, and I think only you can answer it."

"Sure." The Keyblade wielder answered, willing to give his opinion on whatever his friend wanted to talk about.

"What's your opinion on fate?" Izuku asked him.

"Fate?" Sora repeated. "Like, destiny?"

"Yeah." Midoriya confirmed. "How do you feel about stuff like that?"

The Keyblade wielder was understandably confused. "Where did this come from? What's this about?"

Izuku then decided to give some context. "Let's say that...someone told you your fate...and that someone had a perfect track record when it comes to foreseeing future events."

"Noone can perfectly see someone's fate." Sora told his friend that. "I've seen enough examples to know that."

"You have?" Midoriya questioned. "What were they?"

Since the only people in the Monetary room were Izuku, Toshinori, Moogle and Sora himself, he was willing to share some examples of what he was talking about. "Well, first things first..." He summoned the Kingdom Key. "I technically wasn't supposed to even get this."

That genuinely surprised both Midoriya and Yagi. "What? You weren't chosen to wield your Keyblade?" The green haired boy was having trouble processing that.

"Nope." The Keyblade wielder confirmed. "This was supposed to be Riku's, but he was swallowed by the Darkness and the Keyblade just came to me because I was all that was left. Riku tried to take it from me, and did for a short while, saying that I was just fated to be 'the delivery boy', but then I got it back after refusing to give up and fighting my way through a hoard of Heartless with a wooden sword."

"How did you defy your fate?" Toshinori asked.

"Just because someone tells you it's your fate, doesn't mean that it actually is." Sora pointed out. "Heck, the reason I ended up in this world was because of that."

"What? I thought you overusing that Power of Waking was what caused you to be here?" Isuku recalled.

"Yeah. I used that to defy my 'destiny' that was 'prophesied'." The Keyblade wielder pointed out. "My friends and I were supposed to lose against Xehanort and the Organization and all fall to Darkness. I used the Power of Waking to stop that from happening. I used it in a way that wasn't supposed to be used, and I also used it so much that...well...you two know the rest, since we met right when I arrived in this world."

The two One For All users remembered their first interaction with Sora. How awestruck he was at Yagi buffing himself up in front of him unknowingly, then the brief fight with the Heartless, before the boy had spilled the beans about other worlds. Midoriya then spoke up again. "So, you think fate can be changed?"

"I said that destiny is beyond anyone's control." Sora made it clear. "It doesn't matter how good someone can predict it. It's never set in stone." The two One For All users seemed to have their spirits lifted when they heard that, which the Keyblade wielder noticed. He didn't fully understand why this conversation had happened, but he could tell that it was apparently needed. "I'm guessing you two were having some destiny related issues earlier?"

"Yeah." The former Number One Hero confirmed. "But thanks to what you said just now, I don't think we'll be having those issues again."

Sora smiled at that. "Glad I could help." He then looked at his classmate and friend. "So, are you up for some training against Vanitas? Or do you just want to watch for now, since you've been out of it for the whole day?"

"I think I'll watch you and take notes for today." Izuku answered. "Next time though, I'll be going in with you."

"Can't wait for that day." The Keyblade wielder commented. "Knowing you, you'll probably have a foolproof plan on how we can kick his butt by tomorrow."

The two boys shared a chuckle together before Toshinori took his leave and Sora went back into the datascape, while Midoriya and Moogle watched the Keyblade wielder continue to train against the Data Vanitas, slowly but steadily improving with each attempt. He still had yet to win against the Dark Remnant replica, but progress was still progress.

I seemed to have been able to stay in a MHA and KH writing mood. So now we have another new chapter for this fic. Once again with dual perspectives. On the Heroes side, Sora got a pep talk from Momo, made an Ultimate Combo with Kyouka, and did some training before giving his views of destiny to Izuku and Toshinori. Now, while some of you may ask why I didn't have Sora go with Midoriya for the fate talk, I did it for two reasons. First off, Sora doesn't need to be there for every important talk that Izuku and All Might have. Secondly, I feel like him being there to talk about fighting fate wouldn't actually fit. To me it makes more sence for him to talk to them after that conversation, and give his views on how "Destiny is beyond anyone's control" and not "Fate can be fought against." Because even if they can sometimes have the same outcome, the mindset is very different. Now on to the Villains side. Vanitas and Himiko did some more stuff together. This time, it was getting Toga acquainted with using a Keyblade, by giving her a wooden one. (And since I know people will ask this, Yes he did carve them himself, and he did it some time after he came back from finding Eri in the last chapter. He is an unversed remnant that does not need sleep in order to function, so he could work all night and just steal some of Spinner's knives while he was sleeping to use to carve the wood pieces.) After the training, Tomura retuned once more and has now assigned Vanitas, Toga and Twice to be part of the Hassaikai. Just like with the fate talk and Sora, I didn't see a reason for Vanitas to go with Shigaraki to Overhaul this time. (But to give you guys a summary of what happened at that exchance, since I'm not going to write that conversation, Overhaul would make his usual request, and when Tomura says no to Kurogiri, Overhaul then requests Vanitas in Kurogiri's place. He wants someone with warping capabilities, and Shigaraki could 'spare him one of two portal users'. Since Tomura wants Vanitas to infiltrate the Yakuza anyway, he agreed to the terms.) So yeah, both sides are making progress, one at a slower pace, and another at a quick pace. What will happen next? Well, you already know if you've seen the anime, but what will Sora and Vanitas bring to their tables? You'll see when the next chapter comes out. In the meantime, I hope you enjoyed this chapter, and until I decide to upload again ;)
