This Omake is my own headcanon for the cannon versions of these characters. Not so much my versions of these characters.
"For the last time!" Slapping her hands to the desk, Ochaco Uraraka's cheeks puff out in annoyance. "The Best Super Movie is Teen Titans Trouble in Tokyo. End. Of. Discussion."
"No, it's not." Kyoka Jiro says a matter-of-factually. "For example, why?"
"I…" Ochaco's entire face starts to go red and she's forced to look away to a different corner of the classroom. "I-I f-find o-one of the characters v-very r-relatable! O-okay!" She squeals, hiding her face behind her hands.
Jiro gives a knowing smirk and shares a fist bump with an equally smug Mina.
"Well you're wrong." Izuku Midoriya states out right like it's a fact. "Disney's Sky High movie is the best superhero movie of all time. One kid that everyone assumes is worthless gains powers from his superhero father figure and saves the day by coming together with his friends. It's the story of my life!"
Eijiro Kirishima slaps a hand to Izuku's shoulder before shoving himself into the conversation. "I like the movie Logan. Hugh Jackman back on the saddle for one last ride to save all of mutant kind. So, manly! It gets me every time!"
"Na," Katsuki Bakugou waves their opinions off. "The Suicidue Squad, it's got everything I like: gratuitous violence-…!"
They all pause and wait for Bakugou to contour the list but when he doesn't Izuku speaks up. "Oh, I thought you were listing things."
"I wasn't, I'm done."
"Oh…okay."
"Let's talk Thor Ragnarok." Mina Ashido injects. "That's the perfect superhero movie. Mr. Hemsworth looking fine~. And a tall glass of water that is Tom Hiddleston~. Talk about Super~!"
With the talk of appearances Minoru Mineta quickly butts in. "If that's the criteria then I say that Catwoman is the best cause of Hal-"
Mezo Shoji quickly shuts the perv's mouth before interrupting with his favorite. "I'm very partial to a lot of the X-men films, especially X-men First Class. I find their subject matter relatable."
Fumikage Tokoyami nods in agreement as he strolls over with a cool and dark facade. "Alex Proyas' The Crow."
Everyone stops to stare at him like he's grown a second head.
"What? It is the epitome of reveling in the dark."
Ochaco mentally gasps. 'He said it again!'
"Okay, we're getting nowhere with this." Izuku gets up from his seat and calls out to the rest of the class. "H-hey everyone! We have a discussion to settle: What is the best superhero movie of all time?!"
Yuga Aoyama spins himself to the podium and stops with a twinkling aura as he gives his answer. "The creme de la creme is absolutely the grandiose film known is Justice League: Gods & Monster! A story about letting down your walls in order to better yourself and the world around you."
"Woah! Talk about unexpected!"
"I totally didn't see that coming…"
Tsuyu Asui's next to take the podium. "Believe it or not but I absolutely adore the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movies, kero. Especially the newer ones like Rise of TMNT and Mutant Mayhem. I watch them with my little siblings all the time, kero."
"Which is your favorite turtle?!"
Tenya Iida follows. "Captain America: the First Avenger! It's about a soldier performing his duty as a hero in the face of great danger! Yes! I believe that's exactly what we all must strive to be! Yes it is truly a motion picture!"
"What a boy scout."
Masahiro Ojiro nervously takes the stand next. "Um, I don't know, I guess I liked the Shang-Chi movie. I guess."
"Such an ordinary answer."
Denki Kaminari couldn't be more excited to be next as he gives his appeal. "Guardians of the Galaxy, baby! I just adore Star-Lord! Because everything thinks he's an idiot but he's way smarter and wittier than anyone gives him credit for! Hehe! Just like me." He winks and shines a smile at everyone.
"You're delusional, Dunce Face!"
"Hahahaha! Smart and witty! Hahahaha!" Kyoka Jiro is dying of laughter. After a moment she regains her breath although she's still wiping tears from her eyes. "Oh, boy. But he's right, the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy is the best superhero franchise. The soundtracks are killer and the movie's imaginative."
"Honestly, it's the best trilogy in any of the MCU Projects."
Koji Koda shyly stands behind the podium, but he seems delighted to share his opinion. "I think Underdog's a pretty cute movie!" Leaning down he picks up a random dog that happens to resemble their Principal Nezu. "Don't you think?"
"Awe, a puppy!"
"Where'd that thing even come from?!"
Rikido Sato scarves down a cinnamon un as he rushes to the stand. "Best super hero movie's gotta be The Incredible Hulk!" He stands proud and flexes his arms just like the Green Giant.
"Sure, it is."
Hanta Sero leans against the podium, he's skeptical of all of this but he's gonna play along anyway. "Best superhero movie? Why you even asking? It's obviously Deadpool & Wolverine. It's got great jokes. Killer soundtrack. Fun. Well deserved. Smart. And not to mention my answer would just be very timely." Smiling Sero looks right at the reader, yes, you the reader, and winks.
"Who are you winking at?"
"Oh, ah, no one. Don't worry about it."
Shoto Todoroki is stumped, he's a little lost here but he'd like to participate all the same. "Admittedly, I never really had a lot of opportunities to watch any superhero movies when I was growing up. But there was this one movie that spoke to me: Jonah Hex."
"Really? That's surprising."
"Would have never pegged you for a Western fan."
"Not really." Shoto explains. "It follows a character who holds a grudge against any body that hurts women and children. Plus, he and I share an…affliction."
"Huh, I see why you'd admire him."
"I just love the Incredibles!" Toru Hagakure gushes, excitedly. "Violet is my girl! Also side note they fumbled the sequel. And don't get me started on the third movie! I mean what were they thinking?!"
"It was something alright…"
Momo Yaoyorozu elegantly takes the podium to present her own two cents. "I've always found Wonder Woman awe-inspiring. I even modeled my costume's red design after her."
"I knew it!"
WHACK!*
"What was that for?!"
"You know why, kero."
Hitoshi Shinso is a bit weirded out. Is this really what the Hero Course does in their free time? Whatever. "This is dumb but if I gotta play along then I like DreamWorks' Megamind. It's underrated, overshadowed, and the message is poignant. What else is there to say?"
"That movie is so you!"
"Well, this…resolved nothing!" Izuku falls to his knees in agony and cries.
But he's not alone since it seems all of his friends and classmates feel just as devastated.
"We still don't have an answer!" Ochaco wails, joining Izuku on the floor.
"You fuckers!" Bakugou roars. "Why can't you see the genius that is James Gunn?!"
"Hey, we saw the genius!" Denki and Jiro butt in.
"Like that means anything coming from you!"
Iida frowns, he's more invested in this than he should be but still he will see this through. "We need a means of resolving this. But how should we proceed?"
Even Shoto is invested. "It's a predicament."
"Is it?" Shinso asks skeptically.
"I know!" Sero beams in excitement. "I know exactly what we need to do!"
Ojiro is almost afraid to ask. "And what's that?"
"Let's ask them!" Sero explains.
"Who?" asks Izuku.
"All of them!" Sero looks straight into the camera. "They can help us figure this out. So, what say all of you? What's your favorite Superhero Movie?!"
This Omake is based on the cold open from Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Season 1, Episode 3: " The Greatest Cop Movie? Brooklyn Nine-Nine " on you_tube.
*UPDATE* So I know I said in 2-3 weeks I'd have the next chapter ready. But honestly at this point you all should know that I am really bad about meeting my own deadlines. Not that it's a lack of trying, believe me I am really really trying but life and responsibilities make it real difficult. Doesn't help that I'm essentially working every weekend right now on a personal project so I lose my weekends to work on this fanfic too. At this rate I don't expect to update for another 3-4 weeks. Sorry, everyone. I am trying, I really am. Also to that one person that got upset that I'm a "liar" about my scheduling. Please chill and realize that I don't get paid to do this and I am just trying my best, thanks.
That said I am really looking forward to the next chapter. I'm about half-way through it and it's looking very promising.
