Will you come to talk to me this night?
He found her sitting alone looking down at the jewel in her hands. He was glad to see she had it. Those who saw him fled and he knew he did not have a lot of time. The keepers of this realm would come for him if he did move fast. He walked up to her, his shadow covering her and she looked up, "Sesshomaru?"
He took the jewel from her and she shot up, "What are you doing here, I mean you're not?"
"I am not dead and if I was I would not be sent here,"
She swallowed, "Then?"
He grabbed her hand, "I do not have time to explain,"
"Sesshomaru," She went with him but was very confused.
"I have come to retrieve you,"
"Im dead,"
She was, but not in the way others.
He stopped when they made it to an area of fog.
"Sesshomaru, I dont want to be like Kikyo, besides what do I have to go back to?"
He looked at her, "You wish to remain here alone?"
"Well, no-"
"You ascended Miko, you did not die as Kikyo had in your timeline,"
He tugged her into the fog. She couldn't make out anything and had no idea which way was up or down. "What is this place?"
"It is a place of lost souls," It was for souls that could not move on for one reason or another. I made Kagome wonder if Kikyo had been here once.
She was about to ask what he was looking for but then she saw red, and then a form came into view and her eyes went wide.
It was Midoriko.
Kagome's heart raced for more than one reason. She was so happy to see her, and yet a sadness rushed over her.
"Why are you sad?" Midoriko asked,
"Have you been here the whole time?" Kagome asked,
"Of course not, you freed me only recently."
Kagome looked around, "Then why are you stuck here?"
The older Miko smiled.
Sesshomaru put out his hand and Midoriko took the jewel.
"But it's my responsibility," Kagome said frantic, "It told me I had to die, we made a deal!"
"You freed me and now it is my turn to free you," The older Miko said and she looked at Sesshomaru, "You have done well,"
Sesshomaru squeezed Kagome's hand and she looked at him, then back at Midoriko who was closer now. She thumped Kagome in between the eyes and all went black and she felt like she was drowning. She could not breathe and just went she thought she might die again, she gasped for air and opened her eyes.
She was lying back, eyes to the sky. She reached up "The, sky."
Was she really alive, back on earth?
"Kagome!" Suddenly she heard Inuyasha's voice, then Sango's, then Mirokus and they all sounded concerned which didnt make sense, at least not in the timeline she died in. Then Sesshomaru was hovering over her and she wondered, not where she was, but when.
Which Sesshomaru was this? She wasn't sure which one she wanted it to be, oddly she felt closer to his past self. Of course, she never kissed his future self.
But then, he said her name and she knew.
Sesshomaru tucked an arm under her neck and lifted her.
Midoriko sent her back, Naraku was dead and they had all died, but Kagome and Sesshomaru defeated the jewel and death was brief and none of them remember anything other than Kagome and Sesshomaru.
She was happy. Her friends knew who she was. Inuyasha was Inuyasha. Kikyo was alive.
With tears in her eyes, she whispered his name.
As soon as he had opened his eyes it all came flooding into his mind, her in the past. The jewel, heaven, their kiss.
Everyone stopped a few feet away.
"Uh,-" Inuyasha said, confused at the sight of his brother holding her the way he was. "Guys."
Sesshomaru Ignored his brother and searched her eyes, she reached up and touched his face and he leaned down and kissed her.
Everyone's jaw dropped.
"What the fuck, did you hit your head!" Inuyasha gasped,
Sesshomaru broke the simple kiss "Must I explain,"
"I think you have too," Not only to them but to her, she wanted to know what this was.
"Hn,"
He looked back at Inuyasha, "We must talk,"
But before that, he stold one more kiss.
