A/N
I know this has been a Loooooong time coming.
To be honest, life got in the way and then I forgot I was even on here.
I was on another site when I remembered my story and so I am posting here and there, under the same username on both servers.
I hope to be updating more regularly that every few years, haha.
Enjoy
Harry woke slowly.
He could feel that his body was different from before.
He felt stronger, he could sense his magic better than the last time he was 10 years old and was completely ignorant of the fact that he was a wizard.
He also knew the truth of what had happened to his parents. They had not died in a car crash as his uncle had suggested and that gave him a sense of pride.
"Things will be different this time"He told himself
The aches and pains of being over 500 years old were gone. He still remembered them but pushed those painful memories to the back of his mind.
While they would serve their purpose in remembering the mistakes and pitfalls of his previous existence, he had to be careful now.
Previously he had suddenly reappeared in the Magical world at the age of 11, now here he was at age 10 and with no guardian or supervision, he needed to be careful.
He knew he had to go lay claim to his various titles, titles that had been kept from him before, all part of Dumbledores failed plan.
If news got out that he had suddenly appeared and those titles were claimed, everyone would know it was him.
As much as he wanted to stay in bed and revel in the softness of the mattress and the crispness of the clean sheets, luxuries he had not felt for millennia, he knew he had to get up.
He also wondered how his Aunt and Uncle were going to react to his absence. He knew he was going to catch all manner of hell for "sneaking out" of the house but this time it was worth it, he knew he could not stay away too long though. Aribella Figg or Dumbledores sensors might give his absence away at any time but he could use that to his advantage too if he had to.
He dressed, not sure where the clothes had come from but assumed that Fate or Death had at least thought of some of the basics he would need. He then examined himself in the mirror.
He looked almost exactly as he had the previous time although he appeared much healthier.
His hair was still out of place and his scar was noticeable. His glasses large, round, awkward and broken, held together with cello tape.
Remembering all that Merlin had taught him he used a disillusionment charm on himself. Appearing older and taller with long brown hair styled after his god father Sirius but his physical appearance more akin to that of Mad-Eye Moody. Older and overweight.
The illusion would escape the detection of Underage magic and due to his mastery of Occlumency, this charm was not negated or pierced when someone got close. Someone could physically touch him and unless they were themselves a master of Legilimency themselves, would not even detect the disguise.
He left his room and headed downstairs.
The Leaky Cauldron was moderately busy for the early hour. Many witches and wizards eating meals or passing through to access Diagon Alley.
He sat and ordered some food, billing it to his room under the name of Oliver Graves, a name he had made up but knew it was innocent and inconspicuous enough to not draw any attention.
He listened to the other patrons conversations as they spoke.
The rumours of Voldemort possibly returning, the economic issues that that brought with people not buying like they used to, putting pressure on shops and industries to stay open and competitive.
Talk of how the minister was doing nothing to quell all the fears.
These were all things Harry had only learned about after going to Hogwarts before and he knew he couldn't do much about them now.
Things still had to unfold mostly like before but he knew he could start hunting the Horcruxes much much earlier this time around.
He also grinned when he thought about how him claiming his titles would affect the wizarding world.
He managed to glance at a copy of the Daily Prophet that someone was reading and saw the date was Tuesday, 4 September 1990.
That meant that the school year at Hogwarts had begun yesterday which was good.
Although disguised, he didnt want to run into anyone he would know just yet
He finished his breakfast and headed to the wall to Diagon Alley, tapping the bricks as he remembered his first time seeing the wall fold away before him.
He smiled as he stepped through into a world that he had fond memories of, a world that had been destroyed and changed but was now restored and made him even more determined to see fate through properly this time.
He walked with purpose towards Gringotts.
Entering the marble lined halls he again took stock of the many Goblins behind the various counters. The awe of last time not there but still amazed at how efficient the Goblins were and was still surprised at how the ministry tended to overlook a lot of what the goblins did for witches and wizards who had the means to pay.
He walked up to a teller who was not busy, knowing that no other witch or wizard in there would be likely to understand him, he still spoke in a hushed tone in fluent Gobbledegook.
"I'd like to see the account manager for Lord Potter please"
He allowed the disillusionment charm on his face to fade so only the Goblin in front of him could see his young face and the unmistakable scar on his forehead.
He knew that everyone in the magical world knew about his scar and while he had hated it the first time round, knew how to now leverage that for his own ends.
The goblin looked up with surprise in hearing his own language spoken so well by a human and then almost fell of his stool when he saw that it was indeed the one and only Harry Potter…Lord Potter.
When Harry saw that the Goblin recognized him, he gave the customary culturally appropriate nod and then reestablished the full charm which helped the goblin understand perfectly well that discretion was the goal here.
"Very well sir, please follow me."He replied to Harry in Gobbledegook
The Goblin pressed a sequence of runes on his desk and then hopped off of the platform he had been standing on and guided Harry through a large set of double doors behind him, leading him to a very plush and ornate office.
Harry could smell the age of the wood and the softness of the leather seats just as he walked into the room and he knew that this office was reserved for very special clientele.
There were multiple bookshelves lining the walls and a very large and ornate desk dominated the room.
The teller gestured for him to take a seat and left, at which point Harry saw the name plate on the desk
KRAGEN STONECLAW
This caused Harry to think. He knew the Stoneclaw name from Binns boring lessons and wondered if this goblin was any relation.
He looked up when he hear another door open and what he saw immediately confirmed his suspicions.
Kragen was about 4'8 and his skin was a dark, rich, almost metallic green. His eyes were golden and he had a defined hooked nose.
His robe was also a dark, rich green, delicately embroidered and covered in various runes and patterns signifying his prominence in the Goblin community.
On his had was his family ring and that hand was wrapped around a staff beset with more runes and crystals.
Harry could sense the aura of magic emanating from the creature and he knew that this was a powerful goblin.
Not just in magical power but also in the power of the position that he held.
Harry stood and bowed, and again used Gobbledegook.
"Lord Stoneclaw, it is an honour. Thank you for your time in meeting with me that we may discuss matters of the utmost importance."
Harry trying to recall and use all that he had been taught about interacting with Goblins, yet he had not expected to be speaking with the head of the Stoneclaw clan.
Kragen was surprised at the use of his own language but smiled. It was an unexpected pleasure to be addressed so formally yet correctly by a human, and especially one so young. The fact that the person before him had used the Potter name had initially surprised him. There were a few people who could lay claim to the title but there was only really one true heir. While he could not see through the charm, he could detect its magic, aided by his staff and the charms in the room that swore anyone in the room to secrecy of anything discussed within it.
"Thank you Lord Potter and you may remove your illusionment charm, as your account manager, your secret is safe with me and I suspect we have a lot to discuss." He replied in perfect English, his voice calming, not too deep or threatening, although Harry suspected that that could easily change of on the wrong side of an argument with this Goblin.
Harry felt no threat, although he kept his magic at the ready, he relaxed and dispelled the charm, standing before the Goblin and looking almost eye to eye as his younger body was only an inch or so shorter than the Goblin Lord before him.
A VERY brief look of surprise passed over Kragens face, almost imperceptible and he quickly regained his composure. He already knew the significance of Harry being here and was excited to see how this young Wizard would throw the cat amongst the pigeons as it were, in the wizarding and magical world.
"Please sit Lord Potter, we have much to discuss I am sure."
Harry waited for the Goblin to sit first and then did the same.
Kragen noticed this and was impressed by the boys knowledge of the formalities of Goblin custom, something that he had not experienced with almost every other witch or wizard he had dealt with.
He also wondered how this boy had learned their language. Apart from it being extremely complex for humans to learn and understand, if his information was right, the boy had grown up with muggle relatives who knew nothing of the magical world.
All questions that he would ponder on at another time.
As he sat, Kragen pulled out a thick ledger, opening it to a page with Harry's name written at the top in elegant script.
"As the heir to several prominent wizarding families, Mr. Potter, you have inherited a number of titles and assets," Kragen began. "We will need to officially recognize these titles today, and I will explain the extent of your holdings."
Harry recalled what he had been told, having known nothing about his titles in his previous existence. He had just been Harry, the boy who lived under the stairs. This time things would be different.
He nodded, signaling Kragen to continue.
"Firstly, you are the heir to the Potter family, which comes with the title of Lord Potter. This title grants you ownership of several properties, including Potter Manor in Scotland and the family townhouse in London. Additionally, you have access to the Potter vault, which contains a substantial amount of gold—approximately 2 million Galleons, equivalent to around 10 million British pounds."
Harry's eyes widened. He had never seen that much money in his life, and it was hard to even comprehend. Even knowing from before that he was rich, he had never known exactly how rich and he surmised that somehow Dumbledore had gotten his hands on his inheritance money.
"Next," Kragen continued, "you are the heir to the Black family, through your godfather, Sirius Black, who named you as his heir. And being that he is now serving a life sentence in Azkaban, this title, Lord Black, grants you ownership of the Black family's properties, including the ancestral home at 12 Grimmauld Place, and an additional 1.5 million Galleons in the Black family vault."
Harry could hardly believe what he was hearing. More money, more properties—it was all so overwhelming.
"You are also the heir to the Peverell family, through your connection to the Potter line, as well as through right of conquest" Kragen said. "This title, Lord Peverell, comes with a small, ancient vault containing several priceless magical artifacts and an additional 500,000 Galleons."
Kragen flipped a page in the ledger, his sharp eyes scanning the entries. "You are the heir to the title of Lord Slytherin, through the right of conquest. The Slytherin vault contains ancient tomes, rare potions ingredients, and approximately 4 million Galleons. This title also grants you ownership of several properties, including Slytherin Keep in the north of England."
Harry felt like he was in a dream. These were more than just titles and money, they were pieces of history, connected to some of the most legendary figures in the wizarding world. He had to remember though that by his upbringing, he would have no knowledge of such things and would have to appear to study and learn this things in front of others.
"And finally," Kragen said slowly, his eyes widening at this particular one before closing the ledger with a snap, his sharp eyes meeting Harry's. "This particular inheritance is unique, and it is connected to a lineage that predates even the founding of Hogwarts itself."
Harry blinked; curiosity piqued but he also knew what was coming. He had already learned of his connections to some of the most legendary wizarding families, but this was more than he had imagined in terms of possessions.
"You are also the heir to the title of Lord Wyllt," Kragen continued, his voice tinged with reverence. "Wyllt, or Merlin, as you may know, was the first Grand Master Warlock, a figure of immense power and influence who lived approximately 500 years before the founding of Hogwarts. As the rightful heir to his line, you inherit not only the title but also several extraordinary assets and responsibilities."
Even though he had had an inkling as to what was coming, Harry was speechless. Five titles, countless properties, and more money than he could ever imagine. It was all too much to take in. He had gone from being a nobody to someone with immense wealth and responsibility in the span of a single day.
"There is one more matter to discuss, Mr. Potter,"
Kragen leaned forward and locked eyes with Harry
"By claiming the title of Lord Wyllt, you gain access to the hidden vault of Merlin himself, located deep beneath Gringotts. This vault contains a collection of the most powerful magical artifacts ever created many of which were crafted by Merlin's own hand. Among these are the Staff of Power, which is said to amplify the magic of its wielder a hundredfold, and the Book of Secrets, an ancient tome that contains knowledge of spells and rituals lost to time."
Kragen's voice grew even quieter as he spoke of the next item. "There is also the Mantle of Merlin, a cloak imbued with protections that make its wearer nearly invulnerable to both magical and physical attacks. It is said that Merlin himself wore this cloak during his many battles."
Harry's mind reeled at the thought of possessing such incredible items. These weren't just heirlooms—they were legendary artifacts that had shaped the course of magical history.
He had not been told about the possessions while training with Merlin in the Aether and his mind was spinning trying to think how he could use all the various artifacts to help those closest to him and his coven as he formed it.
Having powerful allies by his side would certainly help but he wondered how adept they would be at learning ancient magic and how willing they would be.
He knew that the ministry had hidden much information and would likely call much of what he knew dark, although it was not dark, just forgotten.
Kragen continued, "In addition to these items, the vault contains a considerable amount of gold—approximately 10 million Galleons. But perhaps more valuable than the gold or the artifacts is the knowledge you will gain as Lord Wyllt. You will have access to the Codex of Warlocks, a collection of teachings passed down through the centuries by those who followed in Merlin's footsteps. These teachings include advanced spell craft, alchemy, and ancient magic that even modern wizards have long forgotten."
Harry was speechless. Five titles, countless properties, and more money than he could ever imagine. It was all too much to take in. He had gone from being a nobody to someone with immense wealth and responsibility in the span of a single day.
Still leaning forward and his gaze locked with Harrys', his expression unreadable. Kragen spoke solemnly yet firmly "These assets and titles come with great responsibilities, Mr. Potter. You are now one of the most influential individuals in the wizarding world. It is important that you understand the significance of these titles and the weight they carry."
Harry nodded numbly, his mind still trying to process everything. He had been thrust into a world he had known nothing about first time around and still knew nothing about in terms of its finer political points, and now he was expected to take on all of this. But as daunting as it was, he also felt a spark of something else—excitement. This was a chance to truly understand who he was and where he came from.
So, Lord Potter, to ensure that all requirements are met for you to access all the vaults, I need you to verbally accept all the claims I have just read out to you. And, as you are too young to yet have a wand, I will need to prick a finger with a magical dagger so that you may sign the ledger with you blood seal, thus confirming each claim.
Harry extended his hand and Kragen pricked his thumb with the dagger, a drop of blood pooling on the skin before Harry turned his hand and pressed his thumb on the page Kragen had opened the ledger to.
"I, Harry Potter, officially lay claim to the titles of Lord Potter, Lord Black, Lord Slytherin, Lord Peverell and Lord Wyllt."
As he spoke each name, they emblazoned themselves on the page and when he finished with Lord Wyllt, a 6thname appeared on the page. And many things happened at once, there in the office, in the Wizengamot, which at the time was mostly empty save for Amelia Bones and some of her staff who were preparing for an upcoming case and at Hogwarts itself
"Lord Gryffindor?" He read questioningly
An aura seemed to radiate from the book and then something that Harry had seen before was suddenly sticking out of the book by its ruby encrusted hilt. It was the sword of Gryffindor and there seemed to be a page out of place beneath it.
Kragen pulled the loose page out and read it with surprise an amazement.
"I, Godric Gryffindor hereby state, with the sure extinction of my line, that any Wizard whom Grand Master Warlock Merlin Wyllt deems worthy of the title Lord Wyllt, shall also receive the title of Lord Gryffindor including all lands, deeds, contracts, titles and possessions so that the light may always triumph of the dark and maintain balance in the magical world."
The seal of Gryffindor was impressed magically upon the page and both Harry and Kragen were speechless for a moment.
"SIX titles!"Harry thought to himself.
In the Aether, watching this unfold, both Merlin and Fate looked at each other, surprised but smiling.
"I had always suspected but was never sure." Said Fate
"A pleasant surprise indeed" Commented Merlin
In the Wizengamot, there had also been a blinding light that Amelia and her staff could not ignore.
There gaze was drawn to the seats of each of the 6 houses Harry had just claimed.
The dust and cobwebs covering them vanishing one at a time allowing the onlookers to follow.
Potter…."Interesting" Thought Amelia to herself, but then more cleaned themselves and her expression slowly changed from one of interest to surprise and then awe.
Black…..Slytherin, that one catching her attention and causing her heart to speed up in worry, only to be calmed yet still intrigued further as others continued to refresh themselves.
Peverell, Gryffindor…"what was going on?" She though to herself. Stealing glances at her staff around her, all looking as she was and the looks of utter unbelief on their faces, but the best came last.
A seat so old it was more ceremonial than anything else, almost falling apart were it not for magical wards that prevented it from doing so.
WYLLT!
Amelia and all her staff gasped in shock and surprise…"what had just happened?" was the thought running through everyone's mind.
No one was going to believe them, even though others would have been notified, wards did sometimes malfunction, but she had SEEN it happen, so she quickly put her want to her head and captured the memory and placed it in a vial in her robes.
Someone had just claimed their titles at Gringotts and she hastily left the chamber to inform as many people as she could at the ministry, where alarm bells were also sounding in various offices notifying the occupants of the new claimed seats in the chamber. She also would try get to Gringotts to see if she could see who it was. She hated being in the dark when things like this happened. The magical power and influence in Britian had just changed…DRASTICALLY!
At Hogwarts, all over the castle, new portraits appeared and mingled in with the old ones and in the Headmasters office, Fawkes alerted Dumbledore to the changing portraits on his wall as ones of Merlin, Godric and Salazar appeared among others.
Not just frames, but the occupants were there too, all giving courteous greetings to the alarmed headmaster watching this unfold.
"Shit!" He exclaimed as he stood up and floo'd to the ministry.
Back in his office, once Kragen had regained his composure, he flipped a page in the ledger, his sharp eyes scanning the entries. "As the heir to the Gryffindor line, you are entitled to the title of Lord Gryffindor, which grants you access to Gryffindor Castle and its accompanying lands in Wales. The vault associated with this title contains 3 million Galleons, along with various enchanted items of great historical value."
Kragen reached into a small drawer in his desk and pulled out a ring—simple, yet elegant, with a symbol engraved on it that Harry recognized as Merlin's sigil, a dragon entwined around a star.
"While I do notice the Noble ring of Wyllt on your hand…and I am intrigued as to where you got it, this is the Ring of Merlin," Kragen said, handing it to Harry. "It is the symbol of your title, and it will grant you access to the hidden vault. It is also said to enhance your magical abilities, allowing you to tap into the ancient power of the Wyllt line."
Harry took the ring, feeling its cool metal against his skin. As he slipped it onto his finger, a surge of warmth spread through him, as if the ring itself recognized him as its rightful owner.
"There is one final gift from Merlin's line," Kragen said, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "As Lord Merlin, you also inherit the right to a considerable sum in British pounds—roughly 50 million. This was accumulated over centuries, as Merlin's investments in both magical and Muggle enterprises flourished. It is held in a special account at the Bank of England, accessible only through Gringotts."
Harry was at a loss for words. The wealth, the power, the responsibility—it was staggering. He had come to Gringotts expecting to learn a bit about his parents' fortune that he had not known about before, and instead, he had inherited a legacy that spanned millennia.
21 Million Galleons, that was over 100 Million Pounds from what he remembered the conversion rate being at that time as well as an addition 50 Million in actual Pounds!
He sat there in silence, his mind running a mile a minute, trying to gather his thoughts.
Using his Occlumency to reign them in faster and pack them away so that he could digest the information later as needed.
Kragen sat watching him silently waiting for him to speak.
"What now?" Harry asked.
Kragen handed Harry a key, small and ornate, with intricate runes carved into it. "This is the master key to all your vaults, Lord Potter. With it, you can access any of your holdings at Gringotts."
Harry took the key, feeling its weight in his hand. It was real, and so was everything that had just been revealed to him. This was the beginning of a new chapter in his life, one filled with possibilities and challenges he had never imagined.
"Thank you," Harry said quietly, looking up at Kragen. The goblin gave a curt nod.
"If you ever require any assistance, Mr. Potter, do not hesitate to contact me," Kragen said, standing up from his chair assuming the meeting was concluded. "I am here to manage your accounts and to ensure that your interests are protected."
"Well I do actually have some requests if I may?" Harry asked, his thoughts coming into line as he considered what would need to happen for things to be different from before.
Kragen sat back down and took out a piece of parchment and a quill to write things down.
"Please Lord Potter, how may I assist further."
Harry went on to explain about the wards he suspected Dumbledore had around number 4 Privet Drive and how he would need a way to circumvent those to some degree.
Not that he planned on leaving the Dursleys so as to play along with Dumbledores game, but so that he would be far better off this time around than before.
He knew it would be costly but money was clearly not an issue.
He knew the room that he would eventually end up in. Dudley's toy room/dump as it were and requested that that room be magically enlarged on the inside and to include a fireplace that was to be connected to the floo network.
He also asked for it to be furnished. And while he would still get Hedgwig in a years' time, also requested multiple owls so that he could communicate with people using his official titles more discretely.
Kragen wrote everything down, nodding as he did.
"This may all take some time Lord Potter. So as not to alert Dumbledore we will need to use runes rather than spells as well as discover what wards are in place and figure out how to hide what we have done within them, and it won't be cheap. We will have to work at night so as not to alert the muggles as well as pay off some of the authorities for their discretion."
"Lord Stoneclaw, you are aware, as I am, that funds are no issue for me, and I trust your judgement and complete secrecy in all these matters. I understand what my titles and position mean but if I were to reveal myself to the wizarding world now as a 10-year-old child, no one would respect my position and would try and circumvent the law to manipulate me or to even strip me of my titles…although I would like to see them try."
Harry finished with a smile
Kragen stood, signaling that the meeting was coming to an end. "I will arrange for you to visit the Merlin vault whenever you please, Mr. Potter. Please, take this too."
Kragen handed him a small money pouch.
"It is enchanted to give you access to the funds in your accounts, all you have to do is reach in and you will always withdraw the exact amount each time. It is enchanted to detect your presence, so if it is ever lost or stolen, the link to your vaults will be broken and whoever finds it will only find a few knuts inside."
Harry nodded and thanked the Goblin, still dazed but resolute. He was no longer just Harry Potter, the boy who lived under the stairs. He was now Lord Potter, Lord Black, Lord Gryffindor, Lord Slytherin, Lord Peverell—and Lord Wyllt. The weight of these titles pressed down on him, but he also felt a spark of determination. This was his destiny, and he would face it head-on.
Reapplying the disillusionment charm he exited the office and the bank and headed to Flourish and Blotts for some writing supplies.
As he entered he noticed Amelia Bones rushing down the street towards Gringotts, glad he had gotten out of there in time but he knew and could trust the goblins that his identity and secret was safe until he chose to reveal himself.
Right now though, he had a letter he needed to send before things got out of hand with what he suspected would happen now that long dormant titles had been claimed.
A/N
Yes, I know one more title than in chapter 2 but dont want to give everything away each and every time, and with what happens later on, thought it would make more sense for this revelation to happen now.
Also going on a conversion rate of 1 Galleon to 5 GBP
