It was a relatively normal day. Sun was shining, a little bit of clouds, a slight breeze. Plants were doing their cycles: some blooming, some already with fruits, some only having leaves. Animals were doing their usual routines. People hurriedly walked to their jobs from their homes. Students were living their normal lives. Kids playing together. What couldn't we have known?

Shoto Todoroki was living that day in his relatively normal life. He was recently accepted into UA. It all starts the same as usual. Homeroom lesson. Some other useless lessons on subjects that he knows about enough already. Then comes training on the Heroics Lesson. They're split into pairs. He waits for his turn. When couldn't we have known?

It's his turn. He plays the villain. They go up the building and place the bomb. He waits. 5 minutes pass. The hero team enters. He knows what to do. He has to freeze the entire building with his right side.I have to use the right one.So the second the heroes enter, he stomps his right leg and the entire building turns into a wins.

His goal is closer. Step by step, he is doing it. Proving his place.Proving my father wrong, by triumphing with only my mothers power. He stills for a bit, remembering his family.

In the end of the day, he thinks about everything, about how lonely he is.Mother, why did you have to leave? What could he possibly do to you that bad?He thinks. A tinge of sadness and guilt appears, only to be overcome with another emotion instantly. Anger. Anger at father for ruining his life. Anger at himself for ever trying to follow his disgusting father's master plan. Anger at the entire world for ever putting him here, in this lonely gilded cage. Why couldn't I have had a normal life?! A loving family, that would support me! But no, I had to be born into that bastards family! Into a terrible place, with a terrible ability that he is trying to push out of me like there is no tomorrow! Why couldn't my mother still be with me? Why?!

He didn't realize it deep into his mental bashing, but slowly, ice started creeping out of his right leg. And somehow, through thousands of mental blocks, flame and heat started seeping out of his left. The floor crumbled out of coldness below his right side, while the left side was slowly scorching the stone floor.

This is terrible! Out of every place that I could be lucky to be born at, it had to be this! And it's not even the problem with my place! It's the family I was born in! My brother and sister, they barely talk to me! And because of who?! The so-called second top hero! Not only he pushes them away, but they push me away too because of my influence! And mother? He said something to her, did something to her! He forced her to be pushed away, and she forgot about me! I hate this! I cannot take this anymore! This is completely unfair, world! Whoever hears my thought, please! Get me out of here! Please!I WISH THAT MY FAMILY WAS DIFFERENT! ABSOLUTELY ANYHOW! THESE MONSTERS ARE BETTER REPLACED BY ANYTHING ELSE!

As soon as that thought happened, he snapped back. The floor below him was both shattered and iced, as well as scorched and melting. Between his legs was a front of sizzling water, while all around him the hot and cold air were mixing, creating a breeze indoors.

He looked fearful at the scorch marks. He used the flame.

Then he felt something. As if a presence was looming over him. He looked around the empty room. No, wait. Not empty. Or is it?The room looked wrong. The bed was in spot, the cabinet and the desk he was sitting at looked the same. The floor was scorched and iced a bit, but he knows that already. Then why do I think like there's something watching? Then he saw it. Maybe it was paranoia or fear of just losing control over his left leg, but he saw the shadows. They looked almost black and looming. The room seemed dark, but the lights were on.Am I going crazy because of this madness? No, that can't be. Something is definitely wrong. Then he heard it.

Anything, huh? Well, youngling of flame and frost, want to test it? This will be your last chance to back out...

"I swear I heard it. But there's nothing! Last chance of what? What did I do?!" Only silence followed. "Fine! Don't answer! I'm sure with my decisions either way!"

Heh, you shouldn't have said that. As the saying goes, be careful what you wish for...

Shoto felt pain. Not physical pain, but pain in the soul. His left side was burning, while his right one was numb other than the seeping frost coming in. The stone floor of his room was felt by every cell of the body. He felt every molecule of air come inside of his lungs and be lost to the blood, turn into poison that makes everything lose breath and come back out, disrupting the balance. He felt the lengths of everything on the subconscious. He saw the widths and heights of objects through the walls and horizons. He felt time flowing forward, and his mind struggled helplessly not only againstthe pain of feeling, but against the flow of time.

Then, he felt life. Humans, animals, plants, heroes, villains, families, the death of everything which ever died and birth of everything that will ever be born. He felt every single person and felt connected. He saw the decisions, and he felt every possible one of them.

Young Todoroki, your wish will be granted, and to help you even. But you shall see the wrongness of it very, very, verysoon.

Shoto felt like lightning stroke him. He heard the thunder roll in his ears, and light filled his eyes. He felt his skin touch everything and his nose smell everything and his tongue taste everything and he felt like his nerves were going to explode from the overload of both pain and pleasantness.

And the world wailed. Both the fourth and the seventh felt the pain, and succumbed to it. Every Shoto that ever existed or would exist felt the painful sensation, but the culmination of it was just a week ago, the day he was going for the recommendation exam. And from there on, the pain only grew.

1 week ago, the Shoto of that time.

Then it stopped. Shoto was back. He checked the date and time. Everything is correct. Today is the exam. He just woke up from the weirdest dream.

"Hmph. Who cares about dreams, it's not like they mean anything".

He went to eat.Huh, empty. Mom is in the hospital. Dad was at work yesterday, brother is in college. I wonder where Fuyumi is though?

He ate, grabbed his bag and left for U. A.

He has an exam to do.Hmph. My dad wouldn't even come to my exam.

The exam was easy. They just made him do a written test and then he did a battle with robots in USJ, both of which he nailed. One with knowledge, one with ice. Nothing interesting.

He came back home.Huh, still no one. Well, I guess.

He obviously passed the exam. If father was home, he would force him to train. But he wasn't which was odd.Well, I guess I can check the news.

He opens his phone and scrolls.UA acceptance rate dropped even lower than last year: now only 2.7%.Huh.Villain defeated... Villain defeated... All Might participates in an interview...Alright, let's sort by newest...HeroEndeavour detained after violent outburst in public.Wait, what?!

Tap.

What happened? How did it happen? What made father so mad? Let's see......at 7 am...That's when I woke up...anxiously started asking around...Huh? Someone used a mental quirk on him?...rudely referred to people as 'peasants'...asked what nation are we in...confused about basic things such as Japan...WHAT? What the heck happened?...referred to himself as 'Fire Lord Ozai'

Shoto remembered the dream. He also remembered what happened 7 days later.

"Oh no... This is NOT good..."
