Everything was shaping up to be just another regular and normal day for Yukina and her friends. That was until this new face, Marcus Zimmer, showed himself. He came a long way to face Yukina, but the weird part is that he's claiming she's a fraud.
"I'm a fraud?" Yukina questioned. "What are you talking about? I don't even know who you are."
"I told you. My name is Marcus Zimmer, and I'm the number one best duelist in the entire world." He claimed and stood like he was some sort of big shot.
"That's nice." Yukina said as she and the others thought he was just looney and just tried walking away from him.
"Hey! Don't ignore me!" Marcus said as he got their attention again. "I told you that I came all the way from America to face you! I'm the number one duelist in the world!" He kept boasting about himself like that, but they just huddled together and was still ignoring him.
"Anyone ever heard of this guy?" Yukina questioned.
"I certainly have it, but he says he's the number one duelist in the world." Cindy said.
"Please... Anyone can claim they're number one. That doesn't mean it's true." Felix said. "I think guy is just nothing but talk!"
"Hey! Quit ignoring me!" Marcus called.
"Look, none of us have ever heard of you!" Kent claimed. "What's this about Yukina being a fraud? A fraud of what?"
"Ever since she won the Duel Battlers tournament, people think she's one of the best when that's not true at all. I am." Marcus claimed. "What I like to know is that why no one told me about that tournament. If I had entered, I would have won and beaten you. Instead, it was you and that Raika guy. I would have loved to go against him. If I had been in that tournament, I would have won it and than it would have been proven that I'm the best."
"I get it now. This guy is just sore he wasn't in the tournament." Felix said with annoyance.
"Well, there was more to it than what you might think." Yukina said. "Raika was strong, but he was also dangerous."
"You know, we were in the tournament, too." Kent said as he referred to himself, Cindy, ad Felix.
"Really? Well, you two weren't in the finals, so who even cares?" Marcus said. That got on their nerves.
"I just met him and I already want to throttle him." Kent complained.
"Get in line." Felix said.
"Enough talk!" Marcus complained. "I'm here to prove to everyone that you're not the best, Yukina. I am. We're going duel, just like we should have if I entered in the tournament, and I'm going to win."
"Yukina, just ignore this guy." Cindy said. "He probably doesn't even have any skill to begin with."
"You're going to turn me down?!" Marcus said. "I can understand you being a little nervous to face me, but I'm not leaving without a duel!" He was certainly full of energy and knows what he want. Most would get annoyed with him, but Yukina just laughed.
"You certainly got spunk." Yukina said. "Since you did come all this way, and I'm not one to back down from a challenge, I'll take you on." She claimed as she put her duel disk together and was ready for a duel.
"Great! Just you wait! You're gonna see how weak you really are!" Marcus said as he was excited for this duel. This was certainly gathering a crowd as they all would love to see Yukina duel.
"Let's duel!" They both said as they were set to go with 4000LP.
"Shouldn't they take this inside Duel Park?" Cindy questioned.
"I think they're both too excited." Felix claimed.
"Seniority rules! I'm going first!" Marcus said as he was making the first move. "Since I've got no monsters on the field, I can special summon Windwitch - Ice Bell!" He summoned out a white-dressed witch riding on a broom and had 1000atk points. "When she's summoned, you lose 500LP!" His witch held out a wand and blasted some cold air and blasted Yukina with her life points dropping to 3500. "When Ice Bell is summoned, her special ability also allows me to bring out another Windwitch. I'm bringing out a second Ice Bell!" Another witch flew out on the field with the same power. "That means that you lose another 500LP!" Yukina got hit by another blast of cold wind and her life points dropped to 3000.
"Oh no! Yukina has already lost a thousand life points, and the duel just started!" Cindy said.
"Maybe this guy does have some bite to his bark." Felix said.
"I'm also going to bring out Windwitch - Snow Bell to the field!" Marcus said as he summoned out a glass ornament-like monster with it only having 100atk points. "With that, I'm placing one card facedown to end my turn."
"Odd." Felix said. "That monster is a tuner monster. Why didn't he synchro summon?" Marcus seems to have more skill than they thought.
"My turn! I draw!" Yukina said as she took her turn. "First, I'm summoning my trusted feather friend: Wild Ally Hawk!" She summoned out her trusted hawk as it came out with 1600atk points. "When my hawk is summoned, I'm free to summon another Wild Ally to join the party. I'm bringing out Wild Ally Tiger!" She summoned out her tiger now with it having 1800atk points. "Next, I activate my tiger's ability! He can grant 500atk points to a monster for every Wild Ally I've got! I'm granting that to Wild Ally Hawk!" Her hawk gained some power as it rose to 2600. "Time to blow those witches away. Wild Ally Tiger, attack his Snow Bell!" Her tiger charged at Marcus monsters to attack.
"I'm activating the Urgent Tuning trap!" Marcus said as he played it.
"What's that?" Cindy questioned.
"That trap allows him to synchro summon right away! That must be why he didn't do it earlier!" Felix said.
"That's right! I'm tuning my Snow Bell with my two Ice Bells!" Marcus said. Snow Bell turned into a cybernetic circle that came around his two witches. When that happened, they were digitized with that one circle turning into seven. Then, a beam shot through with a new monster emerging. "Time to ride the wind with a full cold force! I synchro summon Windwitch - Winter Bell!" He summoned out a new monster with an interesting shape and had 2400atk points. "Now what? My monster is stronger."
"I get it now. He waited to synchro summon until now because he wanted Yukina to try and waste some of her cards. Set the field for his next turn." Felix said.
"I was hoping to save this for later, but I don't have much choice now." Yukina said. "I activate my Back-up Lancer spell! When I have two monsters on the field during the battle phase, one of them gains an extra 1000atk points. The downside is that your monsters can't be destroyed this turn." She gave her tiger some extra power as it rose to 2800. "Keep the attack going!" Her tiger jumped at Winter Bell and slashed against her. She might not have been destroyed, but Marcus' life points still dropped to 3600. "Wild Ally Hawk, it's your turn!" Her hawk flew in and slashed her talons against Winter Bell with Marcus' life points dropping even more to 3400. "I might not have destroyed your monster, but at least you took some damage. With that, I end my turn." Since it was the end, her monsters had their attack points return to normal.
"Ha. You'll have to do a lot better than that, but there's really no way you can beat me." Marcus said. "It's my turn! I draw!" He drew his next card and was ready. "I'm activating Winter Bell's ability! By selecting one of my witches in my graveyard, you lose 200LP for each of their level! I'm going with one of my Ice Bells. That means you're losing 600LP!"
"How ironic. This guy is full of hot air, but he's blasting Yukina with cold air." Cindy said.
"I'm giving you the cold shoulder! Fire!" Marcus called with Winter Bell firing a set of icicles at her.
"Nice try, but I expected you would do something like that again." Yukina said as she reached for a card she had. "When you activate an effect that deals effect damage to me, I can special summon Wild Ally Frog to the field! Hop on out, little buddy!" She was able to summon out a frog with it wearing the same collar as her other animals and also had 1200def points. "What's more is that he swallows up all that damage." Her frog jumped in the way of the ice and ate it all up with it inflating. "Technically, not all of that damage is negated. Half of it still comes out, but you're the one that takes it!" Her frog fired a blast right at Marcus and it hit with his life points dropping down to 3000.
"So what? It doesn't matter how much damage you deal to me when you're the one going to lose!" Marcus claimed.
"You have to do more than talk." Yukina said.
"Is that so? How about this?! Winter Bell, attack her birdie!" Marcus ordered. His monster fired another series of ice attacks with all of them blasting against Yukina's hawk and it got destroyed with Yukina's life points dropping to 2300. "How do you like that? I end my turn."
"He does?" Felix questioned as he found that rather strange.
"Ready to admit that I'm the best?" Marcus said.
"You're cocky, but you haven't won yet. I draw!" Yukina said as she drew her next card. "Since you came all this way to challenge me, I might as well give you my best! I tribute both my tiger and my frog so that I can summon Wild Ally Phoenix!" She tribute both of her monsters as they vanished and in their place came her majestic phoenix with 2500atk points.
"Wow! That bird is even better in person!" Marcus claimed.
"You haven't seen anything yet." Yukina said. "If I take a beast-type monster from my graveyard, such as my tiger, I can summon my Wild Ally Puma!" She summoned out a new monster with a puma emerging and had 1900atk points. "And I'm aiming to end this. I activate Animal Incarnation! With this, Wild Ally Phoenix's attack points increases by Wild Ally Hawk's since he's in my graveyard!" Her phoenix gained power as it rose all the way to 4100.
"What?! Oh man!" Marcus said as he knew what this meant.
"You can say that again. Wild Ally Phoenix, attack his Winter Bell!" Yukina ordered. Her phoenix ignited itself in flames and flew at Winter Bell. Once the phoenix made contact, the witch melted away with Marcus' life points dropping to 1700. "Wild Ally Puma, your turn!"
"Good kitty!" Marcus pleaded for mercy as Wild Ally Puma pounced at Marcus and slashed him with those fierce claws and his life points dropped all the way to zero.
"Does that prove I'm no fraud?" Yukina questioned as everyone loved seeing Yukina win and teased Marcus for being the best when he clearly wasn't.
"Nice game, Yukina." Cindy said.
"That guy should have known better than to best you." Kent said.
"He was clearly overconfident." Felix said. "He didn't even use the full extent of his deck's abilities. Winter Bell had another ability. He could have summoned another Windwitch, but he didn't. The duel could have gone differently and would have still had a chance." It would be rather humiliating to claim you're the best and got beat, but Yukina isn't one to kick someone while they're down.
"Hey, it was a good duel." Yukina said as she held out her hand for Marcus.
"No! I am number one!" Marcus claimed. "Duel me one more time! I'll prove that I am number one! Even the best have unlucky days!"
"You don't really have to do that." Yukina said as she tried to get him to settle down.
"Come on! Duel me again! I'm not leaving until I beat you and prove that I am the best!" Marcus said.
"You need to calm down!" Yukina said. Marcus kept asking for a rematch, but this was getting ridiculous.
"What is the deal with the guy?" Kent questioned.
"He's certainly passionate about dueling. You can't blame him for that." Cindy said.
"Maybe, but this guy is going to be a headache." Felix said. Seems like they might have another duelist to hang around, whether they like it or not.
"So, that is Yukina Osama." There were a lot of people that saw the duel between them, but there was one person in particular that they didn't notice. Weird considering the guy is standing at the top of a light post. He was wearing a traditional purple Chinese robe with white pants and black shoes. He also wore a blue beaded necklace with a medallion of a lizard on it with short black hair. It would seem that Marcus isn't the only interesting character in town now.
