The Worldwide Supreme Tournament might be coming, but Yukina and her friends got their own problems going on. Some of them are actually personal. Felix actually paid a visit to a grave that was for Bryce Parsons. When Felix visited the grave, he left some flowers for him.
"Hard to believe it's already been five years, Bryce." Felix said. He took out his deck and thought back to wonderful times. "I wish I knew what happened to you. You've done so much for me, but I couldn't be there for you when you really needed it." Whoever he was to Felix, he clearly meant a lot to him. "I promise that I'll keep being the duelist you knew I could be."

The School
Felix and Cindy still had school. As he was on his way to school, he and some other students were surprised to see a police officer was waiting just outside his school. When the officer spotted him, he went right over to Felix.
"Excuse me. Are you Felix Terrance?" The officer asked.
"Yes. Why?" Felix asked.
"My name is Officer Carters. New evidence has come to light about what happened to a civilian known as Bryce Parsons." When he said that, Felix was all ears. "I understand that you were close to him."
"I was. You think you might know what happened to him?" Felix questioned.
"We have been looking into it, and we just gained a new possible lead." Carters said. "We just learned that Bryce was in a duel just before what happened to him, so it's possible that his opponent was the one responsible for what happened to him, or at least the last one to see him. This is the card he was using." He said as he handed over a photo of the card and Felix looked it over, but he never saw it before. The design of the card indicated it was a synchro monster. It also resembled a male angel with long blonde hair, but a sinister smile. It also looked like it had a shadow covering his right half. It also appeared to have a pure white wing on its left side with a pure black wing on its right.
"Malevolent Dark Angel. I've never heard of this card." Felix said.
"It's a rare card. There aren't that many out there." Carters said. "If you hear anything, please let us know." Felix said he would, but this could be a real break in the case. Carters drove off, but this left a strong impression with Felix.
"Hey! Felix!" Felix turned around and saw Yukina and Cindy hurrying over to him since Cindy goes to the same school. "We saw you talking to that police officer? Is everything okay?" Yukina questioned.
"He was giving me some info about Bryce Parsons." Felix said.
"Who is that?" Cindy questioned.
"He was a good friend of my father." Felix said as he pulled out a photo of a scruffy man with long red hair. "In fact, he was my dueling instructor. He taught me everything I know about dueling. My Gladiator Beast deck was actually once his."
"Wow. Really? You two must have been real close." Yukina said. It's true that they were. Felix remembered all the fun they had as Bryce taught Felix how to duel. The two of them seemed real close, and he loved seeing Bryce's Gladiator Beasts in action.
"We were, but five years ago..." Felix couldn't even bring himself to say it. "No one knows what happened to him, but the police were able to recover his deck and they allowed me to have it once they knew how important Bryce was to me. It sounds like the police might have something that could finally reveal what really happened. I've been wondering what could have happened to him for years, and now I might finally learn the truth." This is what Felix has been waiting for so long. He's got to know. "I can't wait around to know the truth. I've got to know what might have happened, and I might know someone who can help. Maybe he knows something. Tell the teachers I had a family emergency." Not willing to wait around, Felix ran off to find the answers.
"Poor, Felix." Yukina said as she felt so bad for him.
"He is aware he's cutting class? Not good." Cindy said.
...
Celestial Duel
Lustrous City was also home to a dueling company called Celestial Duel. They try to make the latest advancements in dueling technology while also trying to come up with new ingenious ideas. With modern day dueling, they try to cooperate it into everything. At the top of the company was a man wearing a simple suit with brown hair in scissor-cut style with glasses. He was trying to work to keep the company running. Just then, his office phone was going off.
"Go ahead." The man said when he answered.
"Sir, there's a young man here claiming he knows you and is insistent on seeing you."
"I'm a bit busy. Is it someone important?" The man asked.
"He says he knows you. His name is Felix Terrance." The man was surprised to hear that name. "Shall I have security escort him out?" What could Felix be doing at this company and how could he know the one in charge? Down in the lobby, Felix really was being insistent on trying to see this guy.
"I'm telling you the truth. I know Hank Kidomaru. Just let me go up and see him." Felix said.
"Unless you have an appointment, I can't let you disturb him. He's a busy man and has no time for games."
"I'm not playing! I have important information that he needs to know about!" Felix said as he smashed his hand against the clerk's desk. He wasn't planning on leaving until he sees him.
"Felix?!" Felix looked and saw the big guy himself actually came and paid him a visit. "You're a sight for sore eyes. I haven't seen you in years. You look great."
"Thanks, Hank." Felix said as he greeted him. "I wish I was here for a friendly visit, but there's something I need to talk to you about. It's about Bryce." Hank was surprised to hear about that. Knowing this was about Bryce, Hank invited Felix up to his office and gave Felix a drink for him to help him feel a bit more relaxed. "You look like you've been doing well. You can see the whole city from this office."
"That's right." Hank said. "We make all the advancements with duel runners, duel boards, and we've even modified old dueling arenas to be used for grand events. Did you know we even tried combing cooking supplies and construction equipment?"
"You always were a visionary." Felix said with a chuckle.
"Anyway, you said you wanted to talk to me about Bryce." Hank said.
"Yeah. A police officer came by school earlier." Felix said. "New evidence came to light that says Bryce was in a duel, and his opponent used a card called Malevolent Dark Angel." Hank was surprised to hear that card name. "You try to collect really rare cards. Surely, you've heard of it. Whoever has that card could be one responsible for what happened to Bryce. I was wondering if you know something." Hank had a painful look on his face from hearing that, and couldn't even look at Felix. "That face of yours tells me you do know something. That's why I'm here."
"Felix, it might be best you just stop looking into it." Hank said as he stared out the window.
"How could you say that?! You and Bryce were such close friends!" Felix said. "We have a chance to find out what happened!"
"Felix, while it is important to know the truth, there are some things you wish you didn't know." Hank said.
"Bryce meant so much to me. He made me the duelist I am today." Felix said. "He was also your friend. We owe it to him to find the one that took him from us. One way or the other, I'm going to learn the truth. I have been asking for answers on what happened for years. I need to know, and you clearly know something."
"In that case, how about a duel?" Hank said as he turned to him.
"A duel?" Felix questioned.
"Bryce taught you that the truth always has a way of coming out in a duel." Hank said. "If you can manage to beat me in a duel, I'll tell you everything you want to know. However, if you lose this duel, you have to give me Gladiator Beast Domitianus."
"Gladiator Beast Domitianus?" Felix questioned as he didn't know it until something clicked in him. "Wait a minute! Wasn't that Bryce's card?! He said it was his most powerful Gladiator Beast! Why do you want it?"
"As you know, I am a collector of rare cards." Hank said. "When I do find myself in a financial situation, I do sell off some of those cards to make money. On top of that, I guess I would want it for sentimental reasons. Gladiator Beast Domitianus wasn't just Bryce's best card, but it was also one of his rarest."
"But I don't have that card." Felix said.
"Don't lie to me, Felix. Bryce wouldn't have trusted that card for anyone except you." Hank said.
"I'm not lying. Even if I did have that, I can't just give it up." Felix said. "You know I would never give up any card that Bryce gave to me."
"I know that, but I'm sorry Felix." Hank claimed. "If you want answers, this is the only way you can." Felix doesn't have that card. He might not be able to keep his end of the bargain, but he needs to know.
"Fine. It's a deal." Felix agreed. He has to do this to learn the truth.
...
Felix's Shop
"What? Felix is going to duel?" Kent questioned. The gang met up at Felix's place and were told all about what is going on while Felix is getting his deck ready for this duel.
"Yeah. That's what Felix told me." Yukina said.
"But Felix doesn't even have this Gladiator Beast Domitianus." Cindy said.
"I know, but this is might be the only way for Felix to get the answers he's looking for." Yukina said. They all looked at Felix getting himself ready for this and felt bad for him. This means so much to him that he's willing to risk a card he doesn't even have.
"Well, we have a duel to get ready for." Kent said as he and Cindy tried to help in anyway they could. Whatever happens, Felix will have his friends to support him.
...
Celestial Duel
Felix and Hank went through with this duel. They're even having it at the top of the company's own personal dueling field. Felix and Hank stood facing each other with them ready to go. Yukina, Cindy, and Kent were there to lend Felix his support with them watching from above.
"I hope Felix knows what he's doing. What's he going to do if he actually loses this duel?" Kent questioned.
"I don't know. We're just going to need to have faith in him." Yukina claimed.
"Are you ready, Felix? Once we do this, there's no going back." Hank said.
"There is no turning back for me. If I have to do this to learn what happened to Bryce, I will." Felix said as they were pass the point of no return now. Both of them activated their duel disks and the duel for the truth was about to begin.
"Let's duel!" They both said and now had 4000LP.
"I'll make the first move." Hank said as he was going first. "I'll start by summoning Shining Angel to the field!" He summoned out an angel with shining wings with it having 1400atk points. "I place two cards facedown and that ends my turn."
"My move!" Felix said as he drew his card. "I'll begin my turn by summoning Gladiator Beast Laquari!" Felix begun his turn by bringing out Laquari with it having 1800atk points. "Laquari, take down his Shining Angel!" Laquari pounced as it went right at Shining Angel.
"I activate Defense Draw!" Hank said. "Thanks to this trap, I don't take any damage and I'm allowed to draw an extra card!" He claimed. Laquari managed to destroy Shining Angel, but Hank didn't take any damage and was able to draw a card. "And now, Shining Angel's ability activates! Whenever Shining Angel is destroyed in battle, I'm allowed to summon one light attribute monster from my deck as long as it has 1500 or less attack points! I summon Chaos-End Master!" Hank summoned out another angel, but this one was dressed like a warrior with him having 1500atk points.
"That's a tuner monster!" Felix said. "That can only mean that he's getting ready to bring out a synchro monster!"
"I'm disappointed, Felix." Hank said. "Bryce taught you better than that. That was just plain reckless of you."
"Maybe, but Gladiator Beast Laquari's ability can now activate!" Felix said. "You of all people know what this deck is capable of!"
"I do, and I'm ready for it." Hank said as he had a trick up his sleeve. "I activate Skill Drain!" He said as he activated his second trap. "I have to pay 1000LP in order to use this card, but that's fine!" He claimed with his life points dropping to 3000. "As long as this trap remains on the field, the special abilities of all face-up monsters on the field are negated!"
"Negated?! As in all of my monsters?!" Felix said as he didn't like the sound of that. That means none of his beasts can use their full power.
"This is bad!" Yukina said. "The Gladiator Beasts' greatest strength comes from the ability to switch out with each other after battle! That's also how their own unique abilities activate! Hank managed to shut it all down with just one card!"
"But if he can't change his Gladiator Beasts around, or use their special abilities, how is Felix going to win this?" Cindy questioned.
"You're not going to win so easily, Felix." Hank said. "I know Bryce's deck. I know all of it's strengths and weaknesses. With just this one card, I managed to shut your strategies down. Now your monsters are only fighting at half of their strength. You can't win now." The duel has just started and Felix is already at a great disadvantage. He'll have to come up with whole new strategies and fast.
'I can't lose this. I have to win this duel. That's the only way I'm going to learn the truth.' Felix thought as he was determined to win this no matter what.
