I don't own Disney's The Owl House. I do, however own the OC known as Danielle Hopkins. Hope you all enjoy my story on this lovely show.
Chapter Thirty-Nine
It had taken King quite a few tries to get Danielle to sneeze that unique sneeze but it didn't work. All it did was make everyone giggle at his attempts. Luz and Eda decided by than to draw up the Teleportation Glyph outside. Carrying Danielle, Eda gestures for Luz, Willow and King to activate the glyph. Once done, everyone had appeared on the outskirts of the Parks house. Amity and Gus spot them, since they stayed with Gilbert not knowing when they would return. Returning to the Owl House, Eda takes Danielle up to her room while Luz and Willow explained what happened. A few days later, Danielle was feeling better and was helping Luz try to construct a new Portal Door.
"So, according to Philip's instructions, the hardest part to making a portal was finding someone who knew how to build it," said Luz, putting something on the door. "But a lot of the ingredients are pretty easy to find."
"Those crazy apocalyptic supplies you kept came in handy Eda," said Danielle, looking at Eda. "Though I hope the magic that makes the Portal Door makes it more appealing than… this."
"Don't forget this," said King, holding out Amity's glove that had Titan Blood spilled on it.
"Titan blood. I can't believe something this powerful was in the old key this whole time," said Luz, looking at everyone. "It's okay. If Belos is still trying to get to the Human Realm, he'll have to beat us to it."
"Are you sure this isn't gonna like, blow our faces off?" asked Eda, sitting on her makeshift dingy that she converted by adding a bike to it.
"Won't know till we try," said Danielle, staring at the door.
"Well, here goes something," said Eda, pedaling and generating a magic current straight to the Portal Door.
"It... worked!" said Luz, running over to the door.
"Ugly as heck," said Danielle, examining the Portal.
"Did it?" asked King, staring at the door. "That looks real different from the old door!"
"Yeah," said Luz, as Eda handed over her cloak. "But this is my one chance to see my mom. Too tight Danielle!"
"And see my dad," said Danielle, securing the rope around herself as well. "Pull us back should anything starts to go wrong."
"Danielle, Luz, as impressive as this is..." said Eda, looking at the girls as she held on the rope. "I don't want you two getting hurt."
"Once I make sure my mom is okay, I'll be right back," said Luz, looking at Eda.
"Same here," said Danielle, eyeing the Portal.
"Just be careful. The Human Realm's filled with some real weirdos," said Eda, winking at Danielle and Luz.
"Don't forget to mention me!" said King, as Danielle and Luz hugged everyone.
"Okay… One… Two… Three!" said Danielle and Luz, jumping into the Portal.
"Blech, I think I got some in my mouth," said Danielle, as they surfaced in an unknown area. "Wait… is this…"
"Did we... do something wrong?" asked Luz, staring around. "Eda? King? Hooty? Can anyone hear me?"
"Fascinating," said Danielle, as they touched the cube and appeared in a window of the Owl House.
"Are we... back at the Owl House?" asked Luz, looking around. "Whoa! Whoa, I think we're... in the reflection!"
"I think we can communicate this way in the In Between," said Danielle, looking at Luz.
"The In Between?!" said Luz, gaining Eda's and King's attention. "Isn't that where you said Aster is sealed?"
"Luz… Danielle…" said Eda, seeing them in the window.
"We found away to communicate," said Luz, looking at Eda.
"We're in the place where Aster is sealed," said Danielle, looking at Eda. "Though I think he may be in a different area."
"If you can find him, release him," said Eda, looking at the girls. "Kid has been there long enough."
"Got it," said Danielle, saluting Eda.
"Since it allows us to communicate," said Luz, as the cube left. "I wonder if I can see... Amity!"
"Eyes on the prize here Casanova," said Danielle, pulling Luz away from another cube.
"Oh, that is a prize," thought Luz, slightly blushing.
"Right, see if you can contact your mom and I'll try to contact my dad," said Danielle, while thinking. "Can it connect? Asteria… Empress Asteria of Morning Star Palace."
"What?!" said Luz, shocked. "Why would you call some Empre… wait, is your mom…"
"Yeah, I may have kept that from you guys," said Danielle, looking away.
"You're literally a princess!?" said Luz, shocked. "I know a princess."
"I-I don't see anything," said Danielle, looking around for a cube. "Can it only connect between the Demon Realm and our Earth?"
"Hey, it's okay," said Luz, seeing Danielle a little down. "You'll see her again."
"Right. Aster… Aster located here in the In Between," said Danielle, looking around for another cube. "You got to be kidding me! I can't contact Aster either!"
"Well then, we'll just have to find him after we talk to our parents," said Luz, before walking.
"Right," said Danielle, sighing. "Skye of Gravesfield Connecticut. 4685 Haven Drive… oh."
Appearing in the screen in her television upstairs, Danielle looks around before spotting her cat. Skye was grooming herself on the loveseat, completely oblivious to Danielle's presence.
"Skye!" said Danielle, alerting Skye to her presence.
"(I know I heard my princess's voice)," thought Skye, looking around before seeing Danielle in the television screen. "(Oh no. How long has she been there?)"
"If your done grooming, go get dad," said Danielle, looking at Skye. "I have a lot of stuff to tell him."
"…" said Skye, keeping silent before meowing.
"I wouldn't try. Mom explained the circumstances with you," said Danielle, staring at Skye. "I know you can talk and do magic and such. Now get dad."
"… …" said Skye, writing down something before lifting it up.
"Okay, he's at work," said Danielle, looking at Skye. "I'll contact him there."
"Thank goodness," said Skye, as Danielle left the screen. "I am not ready…"
"Holy shit! You got an upper crust accent," said Danielle, peering back in. "Upper crust!"
"That could have gone better," thought Skye, as Danielle left the television screen.
"Okay, Luz is talking to her mom from what I'm hearing," said Danielle, staring towards Luz. "Okay then, Jacob Hopkins Gravesfield Historical Society. Yes… uuuh."
"Here you go Masha," said Jacob, handing over some Hexes Hold'em cards.
"Thank you, Mr. Hopkins," said Masha, holding the cards and about to leave. "Tell Danielle I said hi."
"Don't worry, I will," said Jacob, before placing his cell phone down.
"Dang, dad has the phone down," said Danielle, thinking for a while. "I bet he can still hear me. Hey, da…"
"Vee!" shouted Luz, losing her connection.
"Luz!" said Danielle, running over. "What's going on? What happened?"
"Let me out!" shouted Vee, getting frantic and revealing her true self.
"A young basilisk?" said Danielle, seeing Vee. "Wait… is that…"
"I'll handle this," said Luz, looking at Danielle. "See if you can find a way to Aster."
"Right…" said Danielle, feeling like she should actually stay before walking away. "Okay than, In Between if ya can hear me, open a path to the one I seek. Show me to Aster."
Hearing some rumbling, Danielle turns around and sees one of the walls pulling apart, revealing a pathway. Staring down the path, Danielle takes a deep breath and walking a few steps before hearing screaming from the cube Luz was communicating with.
"This is a real life demon lady," said Jacob, using a cattle prod against Vee before slicing her cheek. "See, a real life demon."
"Shit!" said Danielle, running over to Luz. "What's going… dad…"
Danielle could see that her dad had roughed up Vee pretty badly. There were cut marks from a knife. Some scars and burns beginning to form from the cattle prod. Danielle wasn't liking seeing what her dad was doing to Vee.
"That's enough. This looks like just a child," said Camila, trying to stop Jacob only to gain a little cut under her eye. "Aah!"
"I'm doing this for humanity sake's," shouted Jacob, staring at Camila. "They've already taken my wife… and now my dau…"
"DAD, STOP! Just stop!" shouted Danielle, making Luz gasp.
"Danielle, sweet pea… where-where are you?" asked Jacob, looking around. "Don't tell me you're talking from Heaven. My baby girl."
"I'm alive, dangit," said Danielle, before seeing Camila. "Ms. Camila?"
"You know my mom?" asked Luz, looking at Danielle. "And that's your dad?"
"She's our vet," said Danielle, before looking around. "Hold on a sec. Reflection, reflection… ah, there."
"They have your daughter too?" said Jacob, staring at Camila. "Even more reason…"
"Jacob Hopkins, Gravesfield Historical Society," said Danielle, appearing on some glass. "Oh, thank goodness. Dad, over here."
"Sweet pea!" said Jacob, running over and seeing Danielle in the reflection of some glass. "Wait, hold on, I'll just…"
"Dad! When the heck…" said Danielle, seeing the image from Camila's cell phone. "Ugh… how much did that armor cost?"
"Uuh… better yet, you're okay," said Jacob, seeing his daughter. "Just sealed away in some mirror world. Foul beast!"
"Dad, stop! That's enough," said Danielle, looking at her dad. "Please, just let me explain."
And so, Danielle explained everything that had happened since day one. Jacob was ecstatic to know that his wife was okay… well, a little too much knowing he married a goddess in his eyes. Camila and Vee were surprised as well with what they learned.
"I still can't believe this," said Jacob, leaning against the wall. "Time travel and such… this is… just…"
"That Belos will pay," said Camila, holding up a sandal. "That must have been horrible mija."
"It was mama," said Luz, looking at her mom. "Even if I haven't gotten that far with my memories yet."
"You two have got to get back here," said Jacob, looking at the girls. "There have been some speculations that Phil... I mean Caleb could have been a misogynist."
"A what now?" asked Luz, staring at Jacob.
"I'll explain later," said Danielle, looking at Luz.
"Also… you are so grounded young lady," said Jacob, staring at his daughter. "No video games, extended tv privileges gone, no laptop…"
"Yikes," said Danielle, ducking down out of view before giving the peace sign. "Danielle, out."
"Don't think just cause you're in the Demon Realm, you won't get punished," said Jacob, staring at his daughter. "Cell phone use will be just to call me or family members, when I say lights out it's lights out…"
"Those are some interesting…" said Camila, making Luz a little pale.
"Whoa, wait mama…" said Luz, looking at her mom. "Let's talk this out…"
"Not happening," said Camila, eyeing her daughter.
"Thanks a lot Danielle," said Luz, staring at Danielle. "Now I'm being punished."
"Hehe… sorry," said Danielle, before remembering something. "Oh right… Ms. Camila, think you can place your hands up against the glass."
"'Kay," said Camila, placing her hands up against the glass.
"I don't know if this will work but…" said Danielle, as a Spectral Camila was in front of her. "Okay, it does."
"I'm assuming…" said Camila, before the Spectral Camila came through the glass and merged with her. "Ooo, that feels funny."
"Shame that I wasn't there," said Jacob, opening the cage. "Go, you're free."
"…" said Vee, before slithering over and hugging Camila.
"Dad, please work with them," said Danielle, looking at her dad. "We're trying to get a working Portal Door going."
"… …" said Jacob, deeply sighing.
"Look, I'm-I'm sorry okay. I didn't mean what I said that day," said Danielle, looking at her dad. "I love you as much as I love mom. I just…"
"It's okay sweet pea. I love you too," said Jacob, staring at his daughter.
"Please get a haircut before I return," said Danielle, looking at her dad. "And shave… please. You're looking too much like grampa."
"Can do," said Jacob, shuddering as he rubbed at his stubble of a beard.
"Looks like we're losing our connection," said Luz, as the cube started floating away.
"Luz, promise you'll come back," said Camila, staring at her daughter. "Promise."
"Don't worry mama," said Luz, looking at her mom. "I will."
"Soooo… name's Jacob Ho…" said Jacob, before Camila started whacking him with a sandal. "Ow ow ow-ow-ow!"
"I feel much better," said Camila, before pulling Vee into a side hug and walking out of the room.
As the cube flew away, Danielle and Luz stare at it for a few minutes. Wiping their tears away, Danielle gestures Luz to follow her. Going down the path that led to Aster, the girls come upon a chasm with Aster's prison in it.
"Whoa," said Luz, staring at the prison. "Aster's prison is a giant beast ball."
"Yeah, I know, a pink one was forming for me that day," said Danielle, looking around. "Aster. Aster."
"Hmmm… Danielle?" said Aster, looking around before spotting Danielle and Luz. "Danielle! Luz!"
"Oh, my goodness," said Danielle and Luz, hugging Aster.
"How'd you get here?" asked Aster, looking at Danielle and Luz.
"We made a Portal Door," replied Luz, looking at Aster. "Though we won't know how much longer it will last."
"It's vastly different from the one Eda had," said Danielle, grabbing the glove out of Luz's pocket and ripping a piece off. "Okay, now where to place…"
"Bet it opens like a pokéball," said Luz, grabbing the ripped piece and placing it on the center gold piece.
The Titan Blood smears across the center before disappearing. The four gold pieces pull away and the sphere dissipates. A swirling mass of energy swirls around the actual body of Aster. Slowly opening his eyes, Aster blinks a few times. Looking around Aster smiles upon seeing Danielle and Luz. Jumping upon the few floating platforms nearby, Danielle and Luz extend their hands towards Aster as he extends his own hands. However, the girls feel the rope being tugged. Danielle's fingers brush against Aster's fingers as she is pulled away alongside Luz.
"No no no-no-no. Not yet," said Danielle, struggling to get her rope loose as she keeps her hand outstretched. "Aster! Aster!"
Being pulled through the In Between, the girls are pulled back out on the grounds of the Owl House. Eda, Hooty, and King check on the girls to make sure they were okay. Tears were forming in Danielle's eyes as she literally wanted to scream.
"I'm sorry, I had to pull you two out. The portal was closing," said Eda, pointing to the Portal as it finally disappeared in a puff of smoke.
"Did you talk to your mom? Your dad?" asked King, hopping onto Luz's shoulder. "Hey, where's Aster? Didn't you…"
"Almost… we almost had him," said Danielle, looking towards everyone with tear-stained eyes. "If only I had gotten their sooner, we could have gotten him out. Or even a few seconds longer before you started pulling us back, he could have…"
"Oh Danielle," said Eda, pulling Danielle into a hug as Hooty coiled around everyone.
The rest of the day, Luz and Danielle were able to explain what happened though had to wait for Danielle to tell her part when she calmed down. Wanting to be alone for a bit, Danielle heads upstairs to her room and grabs a bag. Taking out the unfinished plush toy, Danielle starts sewing, her mind on Aster.

"Speak… come on Skye, speak," said Jacob, staring at Skye. "I know you can speak. Danielle told me so."
"(Yeah, not happening)" thought Skye, swatting at Jacob before grabbing her little skittles plush. "(Not today.)"

"There, that should do it," said Camila, finishing with tending to Vee. "Feel any better?"
"Yes Camila," replied Vee, lightly stroking the bandages. "You know, I originally thought when Mr. Hopkins grounded Danielle that he was going to bury her. But I guess that's not the cause."
"Oh no, grounding is different between each family but it's usually having privileges taken away," said Camila, looking at Vee. "Which by the way, extends to you now but I'll go easy this time after what Jacob did to you."
"Thanks Camila," said Vee, as Camila hugged her.

"Okay, this has got to be the place," said Jacob, knocking on the door before Camila opened it. "Hello."
"You!" said Camila, holding and raising her sandal.
"Wait! I'm here to talk with you, not Lady La Chancla," said Jacob, cringing away as Camila stared at him. "Look, I know what I did was wrong and I want to make up for it."
"How?" asked Camila, eyeing Jacob.
"Well, I can help by providing advice on an original look the young Vee can take," said Jacob, before holding out a bag. "And I brought treats. I have no idea what she… he eats so I went to the pet store."
"Female, definitely female," said Vee, hiding behind Camila. "And I eat whatever Camila and I make."
"Oh, so you can… eat human food," said Jacob, slightly blushing in embarrassment. "I'll just… give these to Alicia then. How bout I treat you to the Cheesecake Atelier…"
"…" said Camila, running back inside and grabbing her purse and keys before heading back to the door. "I'd get your wallet ready. We're going for the expensive stuff. Come on, Vee. We're about to taste nirvana."
"Okay," said Vee, closing and locking the front door after donning her Luz disguise.
"… …" said Jacob, staring at his wallet. "It's worth it."
"How'd you even find us anyway?" asked Camila, looking at Jacob.
"Oh, I thought since the Portal was connected to the Old Wittebane house that you lived around where I lived," replied Jacob, opening the door to his car.
"You live around here?" said Camila, staring at Jacob. "Then those animal traps…"
"Placed in areas where I knew my daughter wouldn't tread," said Jacob, backing up in fear in Camila. "I'll take them down, I'll take them down."
"Good," said Camila, closing the car door. "I'll also be getting a 7-inch lemon raspberry cream cheesecake while there to go."
"This is gonna be an expensive one," thought Jacob, sighing as he entered his car.

"This was a good idea," said Camila, sweeping the floor.
"Might as well clean the Old Wittebane house up for our daughters," said Jacob, putting old news articles in the trash. "I don't want Danielle hurting herself on some loose nails and such."
"Um… here," said Vee, handing some new articles to Jacob.
"Ah, I remember this piece," said Jacob, looking at the news article. "I always liked journalism. Finding the next big scoop and such. Always exhilarating."
"I though you were some kind of history buff after seeing… that room," said Camila, eyeing Jacob.
"Oh, I am," said Jacob, going back to trashing the new articles. "I work as a substitute history teacher on occasions at Gravesfield Middle and High School whenever they need one. Did you know that this house is used by teens as a test of courage? Especially around Halloween."
"Test of courage?" said Vee, looking around the place.
"Oh yeah. Took me till my high school years to actually go through with it," said Jacob, picking up a broom. "Screamed like a little girl on my first attempt."
"Oh, that had to be funny," said Camila, imagining it and chuckling.
"You know," said Jacob, making Vee squeak when touching her ear. "You could do your hair like this. Blend in your ears with your hair. And keeping the blue as the highlights to your scales color."
"Um…" said Vee, backing away from Jacob as she touched her ear. "Maybe."
"It wouldn't hurt to keep something that says it's still you," said Jacob, sweeping the floor.
"That actually could work," said Camila, looking at Vee. "It's such a pretty color."
"I'll think about it," said Vee, tying to the bag before thinking. "Should I keep it short though."

The sphere rematerializes. The four gold pieces clasp back on and the gold center reappears. Aster sighs as his body goes back into a slumbering stasis.
"So close. They were so close. I was almost free," said Aster, pulling curling in on himself. "Something must have happened with the Portal for them to be pulled back. Danielle is probably upset with herself. I'll wait then, I'll wait. I know they'll get me out. I know they will."
