Violet Dursley woke up at 8 the morning after her brother's birthday and washed up before helping her mother with breakfast. Her father had already left for work, and her brother wasn't up yet, though he didn't tend to get up until nine. So she got to work, doing the dishes, and setting the table for three while her mother cooked, then going outside to weed the garden. Dudley would have to mow the lawn later and do a few small things before they could roam the streets and 'play' as Petunia would call it.

So when Petunia called her in for breakfast, she went and met her brother, still wiping sleep from his eyes as he sat down at the table. They ate a nice traditional English Breakfast, with orange juice for them and coffee for their mother. There was a knock at the door. Petunia looked up from her coffee, scowled at the clock, and got up to see who was at the door.

"Oh! Good Morning! Are you Mrs Dursley?" A cheery voice sounded from around the hall and Violet and Dudley both shared a look of confusion before getting up from the table and going to see who it was.

"Yes.. and you are?" Petunia placed herself in the doorway between the green robe-clad woman and her children.

"Oh, so silly of me. My name is Pomona Sprout I am the Herbology teacher at Hogwarts, Would you mind if I come in?" She looked expectantly at Petunia who let out a sigh and let her in the house. Violet had made herself busy upon hearing the word "Hogwarts" and started making tea for their guest. While Dudley ran up to the bathroom to make himself more presentable. Vernon had drilled it into them that first impressions were the best kind, and you couldn't afford to mess it up.

Ms. Sprout or Professor Sprout, she supposed sat herself down on the couch and looked around the home while Petunia sat down across from her.

"So Mrs. Dursley I imagine you know why I'm here, I have two letters with me. One for a Mr, Dudley Dursley and one for Ms. Hydrangea Potter. Now I've made sure that they'll both be in the introductory classes to make sure they're ready for Hogwarts, They mainly teach Muggleborn and Muggle-raised students how to write with a quill, all of the basics they might need for their classes. So- ah, there they are. Hello, dears."

"Good morning. Pleased to make your acquaintance" They echoed together.

"Ooh aren't they little dears, now here are your letters and your supply lists and Ms. Potter here is your key to your vault at Gringotts."

Violet served the tea while Dudley took out a pen and paper and quizzed Professor Sprout on a few questions they had about the Wizarding World since their mother couldn't tell them a whole lot about it. Then after a few hours had passed with information gained, Professor Sprout had to head off to meet the next set of Muggleborn's parents.

So the weekend before Violet's birthday, Petunia brought them to Diagon Alley, dressed in their
Sunday best, and with their lists in hand. Together they oohed and ahhed at all the various shops and pets, before making their way to the large marble building with it's warning inscribed on it's doors.

The tellers were all goblins, which thankfully Professor Sprout had warned them about and the interaction went fairly normal, Violet handed over her key and after a sickeningly fast, Dudley, greening twists and turns, Petunia, and completely adrenaline filled, Violet, ride on the minecart, they came to a stop in front of the trust vault left to her by her birth parents.

She paid for a bag with an undetectable expansion and anti-theiving charms, she loaded it full with three handfuls of galleons, several sickles and a handful of knuts. They left and another twisting ride deposited them back at the top, where Petunia took a moment to breathe and told her children she'd meet them back in the 'dusty old bar' as she called it. Leaving the two troublemakers alone.

"Now I don't know about you Brother dearest, but I personally would love to get some new robes, we can't make a bad impression on our first day."

He grinned and they headed off, hitting one of the more expensive shops first, Twilfit and Tattings where Violet bought them casual wear and thick winter cloaks and gloves as well as two pairs each of snazzy dragonhide boots. As well as wand-holsters. Dudley preferred his on his wrist, while Violet liked the look of the side holster. After that, they went wand shopping, Dudley received an Ash, with dragonheartstring core at around 7"½ inches. While Violet took quite a bit longer, the wand that finally felt right being Holly, with phoenix feather core and 11" inches. Olivander claimed it "Interesting, Very Interesting" but Violet forked over the money and they left to go book shopping, or rather, Violet went book shopping while suggesting Dudley go looking for a familiar and also requesting he pick up snake food for her and handing over around twenty galleons while he ran off.

While Dudley browsed the Magical Menagerie, Violet perused Florish and Blotts for their school books, while also picking up Basic Guides on Runes, Arithmancy, Politics and the Wizenmagot, and two blank journals.

Dudley returned with a beautiful black horned owl and then they went off for trunks.

Four hours later, they met up with their mother. Trunks pulling behind them and smug looks on their faces.

September 1st was fast approaching and both children were getting a bit nervous. Dudley had been browsing through "Hogwarts, A History" and was worried he'd be separated from his sister.

"Wherever you go. I'll follow. I promise." She held out her pinky, and he took it in his own and they shook on it.

"You better. Or I'll kick your ass and tell Dad you got sorted into the worst house."

"You mean Gryffindork? Yeah, No thanks. I think I'll be in Ravenclaw, but you're definitely going to Slytherin so, so am I."

On August 31st they curled up together in Violet's room and talked about their plans for school, what they hoped, their dreams, packing their trunks and putting Daemon in his new terrarium, which fit comfortably in Violet's trunk that she paid good money for an extendable expansion charm to fit all of her things. It even had a lock that was bound to her magical signature, whatever that meant. Before having one last big dinner as a family before September 1st arrived and The Dursley siblings would be off to Hogwarts.

Hello Readers, I hope you've enjoyed the rewrite of this chapter, this time I won't be having Violet grabbing her inheritance as early, and I'm trying to make the Dursley family seem more like actual people this time. So as always, constructive criticism is always welcome and hopefully the muse continues to thrive so more chapters can continue to come out. Cheers!
