(2)-Dinner And Conversation.
Later, now dried off and dressed back into their clothes and shoes, Kyle and Charlotte sat at one of the long tables with a red/white checkered cloth over it like the rest. Kyle sat on the left of the table while Charlotte sat on the right. As the two sat at the table, Charlotte ate ketchup-covered fries and chicken-strips she had ordered, with a sprite and a candy-apple on her right side, with the candy-apple in a clear wrapping.
"Boy, this is good. I don't know what they do to their food at carnivals to make it taste so good, but this is awesome. Totally outrageous." Charlotte said before eating another one of her fries.
"Yep. It's a mystery." Kyle said. He hadn't ordered anything to eat or drink.
Something Charlotte took notice of, making her stop eating. "Why aren't you eating? You haven't eaten a thing since we got here."
"Unfortunately, singers can't eat or drink anything before performing." Kyle said.
"Oh, right. I forgot." Charlotte said before she resumed chowing down and then paused. She looked at Kyle for a while before she spoke. "You know...i wish you didn't have to leave tomorrow." She said, frowning slightly. "School just isn't the same without you. Why'd ya have to graduate before me anyway?" She pouted.
Kyle gave Charlotte an understanding look. "I know you miss me there, but look on the bright side. You'll be graduating next year and it'll all be behind you. It feels like a weight lifted off of you once you get out."
"That's true." Charlotte said as she gave a smile, seemingly cheered up from Kyle's reminder.
Kyle was going on a journey tomorrow. Both to see the world after being confined to classrooms for 12 years...and to find his long lost brother, Michael. A piece of his family and himself he had been missing for too long.
Growing up, Kyle had always been his father's favorite-the golden child, and they did everything together. Everything his Dad loved doing, that is. Kyle's father wanted him to be like him, as if grooming the boy to be whatever he pleased.
Kyle also watched his father neglect and mistreat Michael. Kyle secretly hated being the golden child, but kept his thoughts to himself, as he was privately afraid of his father just as much as Michael was. This made Kyle and Michael have a murky relationship, to put it lightly.
Michael picked on Kyle when they were kids because Kyle was their Dad's favorite, which made Kyle resent more and more as they grew up. In 2017, when Kyle was still 9, his Dad left and it was just him, his brother, and their Mom. Then in 2018, his brother graduated high school at 18 and went off to college in Oregon on August 31st. Michael abandoned Kyle, and he and his mother hadn't seen or heard from him since.
At the age of 10, Kyle changed his middle and ladt name from Lance Martin to Bog Bones. He didn't want his father's first and last name anymore. His father had walked out on him, and his brother following suit not too long after certainly didn't help him feel better. During his thoughts, Kyle could've swore he sensed someone lurking. He looked around again and...nothing.
"Kyle, what's wrong?" Charlotte asked again, this time with upmost concern.
"It's...it's nothing." Kyle assured. "Nerves again."
