Repair – Westlife

You learn to walk, you learn to run

And they said "not enough"

They said "Bring me the sun"

You gave your best, you gave them all

But they paid no attention

And they show you the door

Heart on your sleeve is bleeding, don't stop now

Perfectly incomplete, just don't stop now

Go with this energy, just don't stop now

Don't stop now

When your head is broken, take my shoulder

Hide your worries there

Yeah, your arms are open, dreams get stolen

Know that someone cards

I'll stay up with you

By your side 'til you repair

You'll never rest, no second best

No escaping the pressure

Of the weight on your chest

I never felt a love like yours

So let me give what you give me

When you're down on the floor

Heart on your sleeve is bleeding, don't stop now

Perfectly incomplete, just don't stop now

Go with this energy, just don't stop now

Don't stop now

When your head is broken, take my shoulder

Hide your worries there

Yeah, your arms are open, dreams get stolen

Know that someone cards

I'll stay up with you

By your side 'til you repair

When you're thunder, lightning

Screaming, fighting, drowning in despair

When you're howling, hurting

Lightning, surging know that I'll be there

I'll stay up with you, by your side 'til you repair

When you're thunder, lightning

Screaming, fighting, drowning in despair

When you're howling, hurting

Lightning, surging know that I'll be there

I'll stay up with you, by your side 'til you repair

He had only just arrived home and he was already being trotted out into society, although it was usually by his mother, not his brother Antony. It had been a pleasant surprise to arrive home to find Penelope Featherington there. She looked as though she belonged there. Her letters had been so encouraging and she had seemed happy to see him after what had, had to have been a very trying last six months for her.

Still it was good to catch up with a few people at the races, but when he saw Penelope making her way through the crowd, he found himself eager to talk to her. "Pen!"

"Colin." As always she greeted him as though she hadn't seen him in years rather than merely an hour ago. It was nice to have someone happy to see him without trying to snare him into marriage or to gossip about what happened last season.

"We did not get a chance to speak this morning." In fact his family had almost trampled over her to greet him despite Penelope being the first to even notice him.

"We did. I said Colin! But then again it was nothing of note." It meant a lot more than she could know. With the loss of her father last season, it meant a lot that his presence brought a smile to her face. "But I had wanted to hear more of your travels."

"I would've thought you'd be bored of my travels by now." His family certainly weren't shy about telling him they were. Especially Eloise. "You read and replied to more of my letters than anyone else." He had looked forward to receiving them too.

"I suppose I did though there was always more to say than I could put on the page." Strange of her to say so when she wrote more than she spoke in person. She seemed braver when writing somehow.

"Pen, How have you been?" She hadn't mentioned anything of herself in her letters. He had hoped that his sister had been of some comfort to her during this time. But then Penelope had always kept to herself?

"Well. I have been well." He could see that she was coping with her loss but did not wish to speak of it. "And you? Do not answer that. I know how you've been. Exploring the slopes of Mount Olympus, falconry with the Turks." She really had been reading his letters. He couldn't help but be flattered.

"It was quite exhilarating." Not to mention a welcome break after the scandal of last season.

"Also lonely perhaps?" Was she asking him if he missed her cousin Marina? Or just speaking in general?

"Mmm. Well I was never on my own, of course." It had been quite an enlightening tour. Although he felt bad not being there for her.

"I see. You met someone." No. He wasn't explaining this well. She was so much better with words than he was. At least with the written word.

"Pen! I finally find you." Of course Eloise would turn up before he could explain himself. She had become even more domineering in his absence. Poor Penelope didn't stand a chance.

"You always do." There's a bit of a bite to Penelope's response which was unlike her and Eloise doesn't notice anyway.

"You've been back hours, yet you are already in my way." Actually, it appeared she was in Penelope's way. Purely going by the expression on Pen's face as Eloise dragged her away.

"How I've missed you too Elle." I call after her but she is clearly not listening. Although Penelope does shoot him an apologetic look. Good to see not much had changed. At least with his family.
