Shiver – Shawn Desman

I catch myself staring at your face when you're not awake

I just can't help it, no, no

Just having you here, lying next to me

It's the little things, that cause a storm inside of me

And every time you're close I

Shiver, shiver, shiver

Every time we kiss I

Shiver, shiver, shiver

I gotta catch my breath (breath)

So caught up that I forget (forget)

Every time you're close I

Shiver, shiver, shiver

Your hand in my hand, skin upon my skin

Over and over again, I can't get enough no, no.

The way you give yourself to me, I just can't believe

Sending chills all up and down my spine,

I want you to know, I want you to know

And every time you're close I

Shiver, shiver, shiver

Every time we kiss I

Shiver, shiver, shiver

I gotta catch my breath (breath)

So caught up that I forget (forget)

Every time you're close I

Shiver, shiver, shiver

I wanna rush

Into your touch

It just feels so right

I wanna rush

Into your touch

It's like seeing the sun

For the very first time

It gets me every time

It makes me

Shiver, shiver, shiver

Every time we kiss I

Shiver, shiver, shiver

I gotta catch my breath (breath)

So caught up that I forget (forget)

Every time you're close I

Shiver, shiver, shiver

I catch myself staring at your face when you're not awake

I just can't help it

She loved a wedding, but even she had to admit all of this was a little too much. But then this is what happened when the Queen became involved in your wedding plans. Or rather took over your wedding plans. Leaving her family to make their snide comments, she went in search of more pleasant company.

Even amongst the overkill of flowers which was any hay fever sufferer's nightmare, she was able to spot her two favourite Bridgertons. "It is a wonder I have found the two of you in the midst of all this opulence, is it not?" Although the Bridgertons always stood out in a crowd. So did the Featheringtons but for quite the opposite reason.

While Colin merely smiled, Eloise was rolling her eyes at the whole affair. "Quite. Her Majesty's fondness for the diamond exceeds even what Lady Whistledown suggests. Daphne's was not nearly as extraordinary and she married a Duke." Considering this was her brother's wedding, Eloise seemed less than impressed.

"Perhaps the Queen requires our attention in new ways." She could only imagine how the Queen kept herself occupied when not trying to out do Lady Whistledown. "The weight of the crown is quite heavy." Especially when paired with the multitude of wigs she wore. "Perhaps she seeks to prove herself still significant and equal to the task."

"Is that not the plight of all mankind?" It certainly did appear to be Colin's at that moment. But he did make a good point.

"I believe it is." She was not surprised by his wisdom, more that he chose to share it with his sister present. Or perhaps he had forgotten she was with them. She tended to when she was in his presence until Eloise chose to drag her off somewhere else.

"Do not indulge him. He has been insufferable ever since returning from Greece. Or was it your visit with Lady Crane?" The mention of Marina's title by marriage always made her wince. She didn't think Colin had changed apart from the tan. Perhaps Eloise was a little bitter because she had not been able to delay entering society for yet another year.

"The cause does not matter nearly as much as the truth." Did this mean that he was finally over Marina? "One must make a name for oneself if this life is to mean anything at all." While it was easy for a man to say this, as he was more able to achieve this than any woman it didn't make it any less true. It still made Eloise roll her eyes again.

"A noble pursuit." If Colin was content to focus on make a name for himself, she was happy to be a supportive friend no matter how she wished to be more.

"Thank you Pen. It is surprising that you and Eloise remain so familiar when you could not be less alike." She was certain that this was meant to be a complement, but also there was a deeper meaning to what he said.

"What can you mean?" Of course there were the obvious differences but Colin was not so shallow to judge her friendship with his sister based on her appearance.

"You have sense." He grinned at her before walking off satisfied with the barb he had aimed at his sister who was now sneering at him. Furious that he had been able to have the last word.

Coming from a family who were constantly pointing out her every fault, it was a relief to be in the presence of the playful bickering of the Bridgerton siblings. Especially considering they seemed to enjoy her company rather than resent it.

Half listening to Eloise while she ranted on about Colin, she watched the man himself. Charming everyone he spoke to and every so often looking back at her to shoot her a cheeky grin.
