All Fired Up – Pat Benatar
Livin' with my eyes closed, goin' day to day
I never knew the difference, I never cared either way
Lookin' for a reason, searchin' for a sign
Reachin' out with both hands, I gotta feel the kick inside
All fired up (now I believe there comes a time)
All fired up (when everything just falls in line)
All fired up (we live and learn from our mistakes)
All fired up, fired up, fired up
Ain't nobody livin', in a perfert world
Everybody's out there, crying to be heard
Now I got a new fire, burnin' in my eyes
Lightin' up the darkness, movin' like a meteorite
All fired up (now I believe there comes a time)
All fired up (when everything just falls in line)
All fired up (we live and learn from our mistakes)
All fired up, fired up, fired up
Now I believe there comes a time
When everything just falls in live
We live and learn from our mistakes
The deepest cuts are healed by faith
Now I believe there comes a time
When everything just falls in live
We live and learn from our mistakes
The deepest cuts are healed by faith
Now I believe there comes a time
When everything just falls in live
We live and learn from our mistakes
The deepest cuts are healed by faith
Now I believe there comes a time
When everything just falls in live
We live and learn from our mistakes
The deepest cuts are healed by faith
Now I believe
All fired up (now I believe there comes a time)
All fired up (when everything just falls in line)
All fired up (we live and learn from our mistakes)
All fired up, fired up, fired up
Now I believe there comes a time
When everything just falls in live
We live and learn from our mistakes
The deepest cuts are healed by faith
Well, this had turned out to be one for the books. That is if you enjoyed tragic romances. It would have been hysterically amusing if it hadn't reminded Colin that he still had no purpose. And despite the wedding being put on hold, Antony still did. He took another swig from the flask Benedict had given him.
"A celebrity drink?" He couldn't help but smile at the sound of her voice. "Succeed already Colin?" There was no judgement in her voice. She was merely happy to see him.
"Only if whatever I've been looking for can be found at the bottom of this flask." Which he was fairly certain it wasn't. Tucking the flask out of sight before he was caught by his mother, he turned his focus to Penelope. At the moment she was his little ray of sunshine.
"I am certain you will find your purpose one day. Everyone does eventually." She spoke with such confidence that he almost believed it himself.
"Have you found yours?" He was intrigued by what she had found her purpose to be. There was more to Penelope Featherington than met the eye.
"Of course not." For a second, he was disappointed, but then she continued. "But I imagine it to be something both animating and satisfying. The type of venture that speaks not to who I am but rather who I am to be. My purpose will challenge me to be brave and witty. My purpose will propel me far beyond the watchful glare of my mama. My purpose shall set me free." Who knew that Penelope had such ambitions. She was so animated when she was fired up over something. So much so that he was certain she would find her purpose long before he found his.
"What could possibly measure up to all that?" My God she was impressive. "Your dreams are grander than you let on, Pen."
"Yes, they are mere fantasies, but I do believe we must allow ourselves those private moments so we may face reality armed with our reveries." What an enlightening way to look at it.
"Lady Crane was right about you." Even if her delivery left a lot to be desired.
"Lady Crane? What did she say?" Oh, there was the insecure Penelope he knew and wanted to protect.
"That you cared for me. That you would never forsake me." He saw some of her insecurities vanish before his eyes. "I am beginning to believe that now." He could see it reflecting in her pretty face. Pulling away had never been more difficult before. Thankfully someone had granted that the cake could be cut before he made a fool of himself staring at her. "It appears we had better nab a piece of cake before it's all gone. He just hoped he was present when Penelope found her purpose. It would be sight to behold. He was certain of it.
