Natural – S Club 7
Loving you is not just luck or illusion
It's in the make up of our DNA
It's not by chance, we make the perfect solution
Don't fight it Baby you know that it's just destiny's way
Baby, loving you comes easily to me
It's what I'm living for, it's all in the chemistry
Baby, loving you is how it's meant to be
It's something that is oh so natural to me
Natural (oh baby, baby)
We got the answers but there's no explanation
We got each other baby, come what may
It's in the science, it's genetically proven
Cause when you touch me the reaction it just blows me away
Baby, loving you comes easily to me
It's what I'm living for, it's all in the chemistry
Baby, loving you is how it's meant to be
It's something that is oh so natural to me
Natural (baby, baby)
Turn off the light, lay your head next to mine
Take it slowly, a step at a time
Come on get close, closer to me
It's oh so natural, it's oh so easy to see
Baby, loving you comes easily to me
It's what I'm living for, it's all in the chemistry
Baby, loving you is how it's meant to be
It's something that is oh so natural to me
Natural (oh baby, baby)
Baby loving you comes easily to me (what I live for, it's what I live for)
It's what I'm living for, it's all in the chemistry
(What I live for) Baby loving you (What I live for)
Is how it's meant to be (What I live for)
It's something that is oh so natural to me.
She had not expected to find Colin in her home talking to Cousin Jack. Not that it was unwelcome, just a surprise. It was always a joy to see him and when he noticed she was there it appeared he was happy to see her as well which improved her day tenfold.
"Will you see me out?" He was leaving so soon? Anything that would allow her to spend more time in his company was fine with her.
"I did not know you fancied yourself an investor." She had noted that Cousin Jack took every opportunity to gather interest in his ruby mines, but it hadn't occurred to her that Colin might be interested. She might have suggested it earlier if she had.
"No. Even I did not." So, this was a new interest. "Yet, I am beginning to think differently. I know it is a large sum to risk, but I am sorely tempted. It is a chance to make a name for myself, as your cousin has done." It appeared that Colin may have found his purpose. "And once our profits come, both our families will benefit, which is just what makes it so enticing."
"You think highly of my family?" Most days she didn't even think highly of her family.
"I am not in the habit of consorting with those I hold in low esteem." Actually, apart from Cousin Jack, the only other member of her family Colin consorted with was herself. She was honoured.
"I never thought of it like that." Her heart was warm with knowing he held her in high esteem. Most people didn't even acknowledge her to hold her in any level of esteem.
"I understand. Our relationship has taken shape so naturally over the years, one could take it for granted." She never had. She had been grateful for every smile he had sent her way. Every dance that he had taken the time to dance with her, she savoured. "You have always been so constant and loyal Pen."
"I do not believe I deserve such praise for my loyalty." The guilt from last season still hung over her and now she was lying to Eloise to keep her identity as Lady Whistledown a secret.
"Does something trouble you?" She had said too much. She had not meant to concern him, but clearly her feelings were written all over her face.
"No, not at all." She had grown so comfortable in his company that she forgot to watch what she was saying. She shook off the guilt so that she could enjoy the little time she had with him.
"Oh, I almost forgot. Perhaps I might rely on your loyalty one last time." He would always have her loyalty. "Until this agreement with your cousin is confirmed, I do not wish for word to get back to Antony. Could you avoid telling anyone? Especially Eloise." That should not be an issue since Eloise was preoccupied these days. "I know there are no secrets between you two." If only that were true. "But-"
"Mr Bridgerton." Of course her mama would choose now to make an appearance. Her timing was impeccable. "I did not know we had a caller today." We did not.
"Miss Penelope was just seeing me out." Ever her hero protecting her honour. It was not proper to be alone with a gentleman. If it had been Prudence in her place (heaven forbid) her mama would have been trapping Colin in another marriage as she had attempted to with Marina. "While I have been talking her to death about matters so foolish I'd have blushed to share them with anyone else." He bowed before leaving.
Penelope smiled at her mother before escaping upstairs to avoid any questions. Her mother already looked suspicious. 'Our relationship' he had said. Did he by chance feel as she did? If only her mama had not interrupted.
