Boku no Hero Academia: Custodian Izuku
Disclaimer: This is a crossover fanfiction story of 'Boku no Hero Academia' and 'Warhammer 40k' (yes, really). I own nothing of the two series other than the fanfiction stories that I make.
I am making this story for the sake of fun, fluff and awesome after writing a one-shot story of the same story concept. If I am able to somehow impress fans of Warhammer 40k or even move someone to tears, even better.
Also, if anyone wants to know how in the world I got this idea in the first place, please refer to the artist, Ryuusei (Mark II), who has made some awesome pictures of gender-bent primarchs. The link is: .us/pools/17320
Please note that while I am familiar with the Warhammer 40k setting, my actual knowledge of it is casual at best. Also, if the genderbent primarchs seem at least a bit OOC, please kindly consider the fact that their bodies (especially the traitor primarchs) have changed drastically after entering Izuku's world.
In case anyone asks how much crack I was taking in to come up with the idea, I am just going to say enough to make even a loyalist Adaptus Astartes trippy.
Chapter 9: League of Chaos Undivided
Lorgar had always suspected that All For One might betray her at some point. After all, the man was like many other mortal megalomaniacs who would do anything for power and control. However, Lorgar had not expected All For One turning down the idea of worshipping the Dark Gods, especially Tzeentch, after proving to him that they truly exist by completing the khornate ritual successfully. Back in her original universe, mortal megalomaniacs tended to be much more open to the idea of worshipping the Chaos Gods especially after witnessing their "miracles".
On one hand, Lorgar knew that the humans living on the alternate version of Terra were different from the ones in her original universe. For one thing, they had developed quirks instead of becoming psykers. There was also the fact that their version of the immaterium was, for the lack of a better term, a lot calmer compared to the Warp.
On the other hand, the four aspects of the Primordial Truth were clearly present in the very souls of the humans living on the alternate version of Terra. While three of the aspects, namely hatred, desire and despair, could be influenced by Khorne, Slaanesh and Nurgle respectively with relative ease, the same could not be said about the tzeentchian aspect of ambition. It took Lorgar a while to finally understand why.
Ambitious people, by their very nature, despised being manipulated by someone else. This refusal to be manipulated by another would only grow stronger towards outsiders. Tzeentch, for all his intellect, knowledge and magical might, was ultimately an outsider to the people that live on the alternate version of Terra due to originating from a different universe. Therefore the very traits that Tzeentch found most desirable in a worshipper, namely high intellect, grand ambition and persuasive manipulation, also made them frustratingly difficult for both the Dark God and Lorgar to influence.
Hatred, while often aimed towards enemies, would ultimately not care who was killed as long as blood was spilled.
Desire, especially of the decadent sort, would in fact delight in obtaining forbidden pleasures that could only be obtained from outsiders.
Despair, given its nature, would either make one uncaring about outsiders or desperately seek them out for salvation.
When Lorgar came to the realisation, she could have sworn that she heard something roar in nine different voices of sheer anger, indignation, displeasure, resentment, irritation, annoyance, outrage, ire and exasperation. That roar was soon followed by mocking laughter which sounded eightfold, sevenfold and sixfold respectively. She wisely chose not to question who was angry at that moment as Tzeentch might not be the primordial embodiment of hatred and wrath but she knew better than to assume that he was not without a vindictive streak.
In spite of the unexpected setback, Lorgar was confident that she would be able to find worthy worshippers of Tzeentch. After all, Tzeentch was also the god of knowledge, change, mutation and evolution. While interest in knowledge from her original universe might be limited to how easily the knowledge could be applied to the current one, the desire for change was actually quite easy to exploit. As Tomura himself had stated, a lot of people would love to have desirable quirks and Tzeentch would be able to fulfil that desire more easily than any of the other three Chaos Gods. Granted, such individuals would probably have shallow ambitions but Tzeentch knew a thing or nine about making people more ambitious and cunning over time.
Tomura had never expected to Logar, who already knew about his dangerous quirk that allowed him to make the things that he touched with all five fingers of either hand decay into dust, to hold his hands with her own. True, she made sure that his fingertips did not touch her skin while holding his hands but the fact that she actually held them without fear due to sheer genuine gratitude for his suggestion honestly shocked him. Even Kurogiri, who had bee Tomura's level-headed caretaker for years, was shocked by Lorgar's willingness to hold his hands even if she made sure to only touch the back and palms of his hands with her own.
After giving her genuine thanks to Tomura, Lorgar was eager to begin recruitment on behalf of the other three Dark Gods as soon as possible. However, All For One had other ideas…
-At a certain seedy bar in Kamino…-
Lorgar, along with her eight khornate cultists, was having breakfast with Kurogiri and Tomura. Tomura peered at the eight cultists, who had received their Marks of Khorne two days ago, and said with a deadpan expression, "I get that they accepted a power-up from one of your gods that represents hatred and murder, but, with the way they are now, there's no way in hell they will be able to stay hidden for much longer."
"What the fuck do you mean by that?" growled Katsuki. Much like the other khornate cultists, his Mark of Khorne was bleeding with no apparent physical ill-effect on him and his eyes seemed to radiate unalloyed rage. It should also be noted that his mark was on the palm of his right hand.
"I mean, even if you hide your marks completely, just one look at your 'resting bitch faces' will be enough to tip anyone with at least nine brain cells that something is wrong with you," said Tomura.
"You're one to talk, you dry-skinned walking hand-job!" said Paiku whose Mark of Khorne was on the back of his right hand.
Tomura shrugged and said, "Maybe, but at least I can hide my hatred towards everything that pisses me off for a while when I need to. You eight look like that you can't even manage that for… longer than eight seconds at best."
"Are you looking for a fight, you arsehole?" growled Hakiba while his teeth turned into sharp metallic fangs that resembled that of a shark. The other khornate cultists looked similarly ready to fight.
"No, just stating facts," said Tomura who then turned his attention towards Lorgar said, "You should have gotten rogues instead of berserkers. At least those units will be able to spread your influence without attracting too much attention."
Lorgar, who was the only reason why the khornate cultists were even behaving themselves while in the bar, sighed and said, "As much as it galls me to admit it, your statement is not without truth, Tomura. However, getting proper rogues would require the blessings of Tzeentch or Slaanesh and, well, the eight cultists that have I have with me right now favour hatred over all other aspects of the Primordial Truth."
"Couldn't you have at least tried to delay making them the cultist of a god that demands them to kill?" asked Tomura who knew that the cultists were already struggling to keep their murderous urges in check.
Lorgar was genuinely sheepish as she admitted, "I could have tried but… well… Khorne is not exactly the Chaos God of patience."
"Well, as long as you keep them in line and on short leashes, I won't raise a bitch fit about having them kill some random NPCs," said Tomura. The khornate cultists growled at Tomura as they wanted to kill the villain for the implied insult of being Lorgar's mindless attack dogs.
"I don't suppose you and your Master know of any places where 'murderous blood sport' is, while clearly illegal in this world, allowed?" asked Lorgar who knew that the quickest way to satisfy the murderous urges of khornate cultists was to let them kill someone.
"I've visited a few fighting rings before but they don't normally encourage contestants killing one another since it's generally bad for business," said Tomura who then added, "Besides, you should know by now that the only kind of gambling that I bother to deal with are 'gacha' and 'RNG' (random number generation) in video games."
Well aware of Tomura's interest in video games, Lorgar sighed and grumbled, "I should have seen that coming."
"If it's a death match that you're seeking, I happen to have some… 'willing participants'," said a voice that came from a modified television set.
Recognising the speaker to be his master, All For One, Tomura asked, "Who exactly to you have in mind, Sensei?"
"The Doctor has managed to successfully prepare a few noumus that have been enhanced by Lorgar's knowledge in bioengineering and technology yesterday night and he's eager to test them today. Since her new cultists need to kill something to satisfy the demands of their… deity, why not these experimental noumus?" said All For One.
"Why, that's a wonderful idea! I'm sure that they will be pleased to face powerful enemies!" said Lorgar.
"Then let us not dally any further," said All For One who the instructed Kurogiri, "Kurogiri, if you may?"
Kurogiri bowed as he used his quirk to create a misty portal and said, "As you command, Master."
-A short while later…-
Tomura, Kurogiri, Lorgar and the eight khornate cultists stood in an empty underground room which had a single entrance and numerous cameras, both normal and hidden. As soon as all eleven of them were present, the door opened to reveal three monstrous beings which had exposed brains.
"So… these are the noumu bio-weapons," said Lorgar. During her admittedly short time on the alternate version of Terra, she had heard from Tomura about All For One and the Doctor creating monstrous weapons that were basically unnatural amalgamations of quirks forced into the body of a living or dead person. Although she was sure that even the creations of the False Emperor were superior to these seemingly brain-dead monstrosities, she was willing to acknowledge that, with the right quirks, the noumus had the potential to be dangerous bio-weapons.
The first noumu had dark-grey skin and was a hulking behemoth of muscle even taller than Lorgar that lacked eyes. As for the second Noumu, it was leaner than the first one and had dark-blue skin, long arms tipped with clawed fingers and a large single eye on its exposed brain. Unlike the other two noumus, the third one had six eyes, sharp fangs in place of teeth, a wolf-like muzzle, dark-green skin and was the shortest of the three. All three noumus wore collars that had vials filled with different-coloured drugs.
"They're… bigger than I expected," said Suji who, prior to becoming a cultist of Khorne, would have felt fear while facing such opponents. However, his khornate bloodlust was such as his sense of fear was suppressed.
"All the better when they fall!" said Paiku who was clearly eager to kill again.
"If your cultists are ready, they may begin 'stress-testing' these enhanced noumus," announced the Doctor whose real name was Garaki Kyuudai. Both he and All For One were remotely observing the "stress test" at a secure location elsewhere.
"Time to let loose!" yelled Katsuki who was the first to charge. The other seven cultists soon followed his lead as they rushed towards the noumus to slaughter them while yelling, "Blood for the Blood God! Skulls for the Skull Throne!"
"Administering experimental drug, 'stimm'," said Garaki while activating the collars to inject a drug cocktail that was inspired by a combat drug with the same name from Lorgar's home universe. Much like its original counterpart, the drug enhanced the speed, reflexes, strength and durability of the user but at the cost of causing physical injury especially with prolonged use.
As soon as the drug cocktail was administered, the three noumus roared before attacking the charging cultists. The arms of the grey-skinned noumu suddenly elongated into long whips of sinew, torn skin and blades of hardened bone. It then lashed out with the intention of slicing the cultists into pieces. However, Katsuki easily deflected one of the whips with an explosion from his right hand. Enhanced by the blood that flowed from his Mark of Khorne, the explosion was able to penetrate through the tough whip of hardened muscles and bones. It then caused a secondary explosion upon contact with the noumu's putrid blood, severing the whip as a result. The noumu's second whip was intercepted by Ude. While Ude's entire upper body was covered in grey stony growths, the growths on his right arm were bronze-coloured and had sharp edges. As the fleshy whip coiled around Ude and wounded him with its bony blades, Ude roared in rage and clenched his right hand onto it tightly, causing it to bleed which in turn healed his injuries. In spite of having one arm partially severed, the grey-skinned noumu transformed the said arm into a maw-shaped biological canon that rapidly shot volleys of hardened bone shards. Katsuki's charge was halted as he stood his ground and blew the bony shards away with his explosions.
While Katsuki and Ude were engaged with the grey-skinned noumu, Paiku, Suji and Kazeko were engaged with the blue-skinned noumu. Unlike its grey-skinned counterpart, the noumu grew hardened plates of metallic armour and two large wrist-mounted blades. It also clearly had enhanced speed as it easily parried Paiku's spiked fists and kept both Suji and Kazeko at a distance in spite of their shared efforts to attack its vulnerable joints. Due to the Mark of Khorne on the back of Paiku's right hand, the spikes on the said hand were bronze-coloured and hard enough to be effective in parrying and blocking the noumu's blades. Suji, who was in his muscular transformed state, attacked with his right arm which had tough red scaly skin and black claws. Kazeko, whose Mark of Khorne was on the palm of her right hand, tried to attack the noumu's joints with gales of wind which had a cutting edge due to the blood that flowed from the mark.
The green-skinned noumu was deceptively weak-looking compared to the other two. However, it was no less dangerous as it suddenly grew three pairs of long spider-like limbs with armoured chitinous skin and clawed hands. The spider-like limbs not only granted it greater speed and agility but were also capable of regrowing rapidly after getting severed, thus making it difficult for Hakiba, Kakeru and Tamako to attack its main body. Hakiba's teeth were effective in biting through the spider-like limbs but he could not get close enough to attack the main body. Kakeru, whose Mark of Khorne was on the back of his left hand, grew an extra forearm from each elbow as before. However, the new forearms were covered in tough red scaly skin, had sharp black claws and were longer than his original forearms. As such, he attacked mainly with his red-skinned forearms. Tamako, whose mark of Khorne was on the palm of her left hand, rapidly threw balls of energy at the noumu but kept on missing due to its agility.
In spite of the apparent stalemate, Lorgar smiled and said, "They're making good use of Khorne's gifts."
Tomura smirked as he spoke, "The noumus are not doing badly either." Considering that a noumu would be used to kill All Might, seeing the three noumus perform so well was indeed a promising sign of potential victory.
"They will surely serve you both well in your respective endeavours," said Kurogiri who was simply stating a fact.
Suddenly, Garaki announced, "Administering Trigger."
Trigger was a local variety of drug that temporarily enhanced the quirks of its users at the cost of weakening their sense of reason. As soon as the drug was injected into the noumus through their collars, the bio-weapons roared as their bodies mutated even more. The grey-skinned noumu's body became even larger and more muscular while the blue-skinned noumu developed bladed body armour and the green-skinned noumu developed a pouch that contained green corrosive acid. Then, without warning the green-skinned noumu leapt into the air and spat a fist-sized glob of acid that flew towards Lorgar like a bullet.
Shocked by the unexpected attack, the eight cultists, Tomura and Kurogiri were unable to stop the ranged attack from reaching Lorgar. However, Lorgar was former primarch and was thus able to avoid the incoming attack with a single somersault. Her seemingly innocent smile never left her face as she glanced at the glob of acid which was melting through the floor and said, "So, you've finally decided to take action against me, All For One."
"You knew that this would happen," said All For One.
"I've suspected the possibility from the moment you revealed your identity and ambitions to me. Your refusal to embrace the Dark Gods after proving to you that they exist only made me even more certain that you would betray me at some point," replied Lorgar.
Tomura was wide-eyed as he asked All For One, "Wait, you really wanted to have her killed? Why?"
"That's because she worships daemonic forces from another universe that seek to bring complete ruin upon this world, the very same world that I intend to rule as its supreme ruler," said All For One who then growled, "Also, I despise the idea of bowing to anyone, including daemonic gods from another universe!"
"That's a shame, honestly. You would have made a fine worshipper of Tzeentch," said Lorgar.
"And you have long outlived your usefulness to me," said All For One who the ordered, "Noumus, destroy her and her cultists!"
The three noumus roared as one and the grey-skinned noumu then started to tighten it's whip around Ude with the intention of crushing him while its other arm continued to shoot volleys of hardened bone shards at Katsuki at an increased firing rate. Ude's eyes widened as the noumu's trigger-enhanced strength was beginning to overwhelm him. For a moment, he felt fear but he then recalled why he even accepted the Mark of Khorne on the back of his right hand in the first place. Rage filled his very soul as he yelled, "Kill. Kill! KILL!" He then tore the whip-like appendage with his bare hands, not caring that his blood was mixed with the noumu's blood. Undeterred by the partial loss of its other arm, the noumu transformed it into another maw-like cannon. However, instead of rapidly shooting volleys of hardened bone shards, it instead shot a single volley of foot-long bone spikes at Ude who was charging towards the noumu in blind rage. Ude tried to block the incoming spikes by holding his armoured forearms in front of his body but the spikes easily pierced through the gaps in his stony arms and effectively crippled them. Also, the spikes had enough force to knock Ude onto his back, thus giving the noumu the time it needed to kill him with a second volley of spikes that pierced through his vital organs and brain. Katsuki yelled profanities as he fought even harder to overcome the seemingly endless volleys of hardened bone shards that the noumu continued to shoot at him.
The green-skinned nomu easily avoided Hakiba, Kakeru and Tamako's attacks due to its enhanced agility and rapidly spat globs of acid at Lorgar. Although Lorgar was able to avoid the attacks, any attempt to attack the acid-spitting noumu herself had to be put on hold as she noticed the blue-skinned noumu suddenly charging towards her with the intention of slicing her into pieces. Paiku, Suji and Kazeko tried to stop its charge but its enhanced speed allowed it to not only deflect and avoid their attacks but also slice Suji's head off. Angry at the loss of her two cultists, Lorgar was about to attack the blue-skinned noumu when Tomura suddenly yelled, "Lorgar, behind you!"
Lorgar barely had time to react and avoid a fatal blow as a spike of stone suddenly erupted from the ground behind her and nearly impaled her torso. Her eyes were wide as All For One smugly said, "Did you really think that I would give you a fair fight?"
Realising that there was at least one more noumu opponent, Lorgar warned her remaining cultists while avoiding attacks from both the green-skinned and blue-skinned noumus, "Watch out for the spikes!"
"A little too late for that, I'm afraid," said All For One as more stone spikes suddenly erupted from the ground, thus forcing Lorgar and the surviving cultists to deflect and dodge them while still fighting the three noumus. Kakeru was dodging the erupting stone spikes when the grey-skinned noumu suddenly shot a volley of bone spikes at him. Kakeru tried to block the bone spikes with both his regular and red-skinned forearms but one of the spikes slipped past his defence and tore through his abdomen, leaving a gaping hole where a part of his intestines and spine used to be. Kakeru quickly died as a result.
As the chaotic fight continued, Tomura clenched his fists and yelled, "Sensei, if you had wanted to kill her, why didn't you do it at the start?! Fuck, you even told me to tolerate her when we found out about her religion after we took her in!"
"To be honest, I was curious about her and desired the technological knowledge that she possessed," admitted All For One who then added, "However, as I have said before, I refuse to bow to the gods that she worships and I'll be damned before I allow their influence on this world to spread further." He then instructed Kurogiri, "Kurogiri, take Tomura out of here so that the noumus can finish them off without any restraint."
Unexpectedly, Kurogiri replied, "No, not unless Shigaraki wishes it."
Shocked, All For One was silent for a moment before he simply asked, "What?"
Lorgar smirked as she knew the reason why Kurogiri, who was actually a noumu made from the corpse of a hero-student named Loud Cloud, had decided to betray his own creator. During her stay at the bar, she had spoken to Kurogiri a number of times and had managed to convince him that his true loyalty should be with his charge, Tomura, instead of All For One. The fact that Kurogiri had been created specifically to care for Tomura only made it easier to subtly manipulate him even though Lorgar was unsure if it would actually work.
Kurogiri turned his attention towards Tomura and asked, "Shigaraki, do you want Lorgar and her remaining cultists to live or to die?"
Both Lorgar and All For One knew that Tomura's choice might very well be pivotal to the outcome of the present conflict so the latter of the two yelled, "One of the four gods that she worships is literally a god of lies and deceit! To trust her to to trust her gods, including the one that will surely betray you!" Lorgar wanted to say a counterargument but she was busy trying to avoid getting hit by attacks that came from multiple directions. As for Tomura, his head felt like it was splitting apart as memories of his past flashed through his mind…
-Start of Tomura's Flashback…-
Tomura's earliest memory was living on the streets of Japan as a boy who had recently become an orphan due to circumstances that he had driven deep into the dark recesses of his broken mind. Although he prayed that someone would help him as he struggled to survive, no one tried to help him, not even the pro-heroes who were supposed to be the protectors of the common people. In the end, the one who saved him was his master, All For One, who clearly wanted him to become his successor as a symbol among villains. Tomura, who had grown to despise hero society, accepted role he had been given by All For One whom he saw as a father figure.
The next memory was a memory of Tomura's first encounter with Lorgar. He was on his way back to the bar, which had been his home for years, after buying some snacks when he met her weeping in a filthy alley. As a villain who was full of resentment and hatred, he should not have cared about the large girl's plight but her broken smile reminded him of the time when he was in a similar situation. As a result, he begrudgingly offered her some snacks and allowed her to follow him back to the bar. He originally intended to let her leave after she got some proper food, clothes and at least one night of shelter at the bar. However, All For One took notice of her and quickly found out that she actually came from another universe.
Realising that Lorgar was a religious fanatic was an unpleasant surprise for Tomura as he thought that Lorgar was either a deluded idiot or a complete quack of a religious figure. There was also the very real possibility that she would gladly betray him if it meant pleasing her gods. However, as he learnt more about Lorgar's past life and the Primordial Truth, he grew more accepting of her and her religion if only because some aspects of it seemed to fit with his desire to cause destruction. In fact, as much as it galled Tomura to admit it, he saw her as a sister and her recent act of holding his hands without fear only solidified his view of her.
Wait… didn't he have a sister once… a real… older one…?
Unimaginable pain filled Tomura's mind as repressed memories of his original family started to flash through his mind…
-End of Tomura's Flashback…-
Tomura screamed in primal agony as he finally remembered his repressed past. He remembered his abusive father whom he truly despised. He also remembered his mother, maternal grandparents and elder sister whom he cared about but also loathed for allowing the abuse to happen. He then remembered his paternal grandmother, a pro-hero named Shimura Nana, whom his father despised for basically abandoning him. Finally, he remembered how his quirk activated for the first time and caused the deaths of his entire family, including the family dog which was arguably the single family member that he truly felt no hatred for.
Everyone, even the noumu, froze as they watched Tomura scream in agony before he started laughing hysterically and yelled, "I… remember… everything!" His eyes shone with madness born from both hatred and despair as he continued to speak, "Sensei, you've always said that I'm allowed to destroy everything that I hate. The thing is, I hate everything and I now see that your desires and mine do NOT align!" He the looked heavenward and yelled, "I know that you are real, Tzeentch, Khorne, Nurgle and Slaanesh! I, Shigaraki Tomura, once a boy known as Shimura Tenko, hereby swear my allegiance to Chaos as Lorgar's ninth cultist!"
Before All For One could order his noumus to kill everyone in the room in desperation, the laughter of the Dark Gods echoed throughout the room.
Tzeentch cackled with glee as he finally found a deserving worshipper. Although Tomura was clearly not one for deceptive manipulation nor elaborate schemes, his act of defiance against All For One was fittingly tzeentchian. Also, in spite of the recent losses in cultists, Tomura was undeniably the ninth person to swear his allegiance to the forces of Chaos through Lorgar, thus fulfilling the god's divine number even though Lorgar had not acquired nine tzeentchian cultists. What was more, while Tomura desired destruction instead of change, it was clear that he despised the current status quo in his version of Terra. As the 'The Lord of Change', how could Tzeentch not lend his support to Tomura's ambitious cause that would inevitably bring destructive change upon the alternate version of Terra?
Khorne roared with laughter as he approved of Tomura's destructive hatred. He did not even care that Tomura was Tzeentch's first cultist on the alternate version of Terra as he knew that the villain's actions would lead to the deaths of hundreds if not thousands or more. Besides, three of the khornate cultists were already dead and Khorne was not against the idea of transferring one of them to Tomura while leaving the other two with Lorgar for future cultists.
Nurgle chuckled with cheer as he could sense the despair that festered deep within Tomura's soul. Ever the accepting god, he eagerly looked forward to the day when Tomura, whose very touch brought decay, death and destruction, would accept his mark. True, Tzeentch might decide to change Tomura's quirk but it would not be beyond Nurgle's capacity to influence with his own "gifts".
Slaanesh, while disappointed that Tomura ultimately wanted to spread destruction instead of torment, nevertheless giggled as she knew that he had a sadistic streak which was not opposed to inflicting delightful torment. Besides, given his hobby in video games, she could tell that he had at least some perfectionist tendencies. All that would be needed was for him to apply his perfectionist ways to activities other than video games.
With all four gods agreeing that Tomura was worthy, more so than Katsuki in fact, they pooled their fel energies into giving Tomura the Mark of Tzeentch through Lorgar's link with them. Lorgar smiled in jubilant joy as the young man, whom she had started to see as a brother, had embraced the glory of Chaos Undivided.
As the Mark of Tzeentch appeared on the back of Tomura's left hand and the Mark of Khorne appeared on the back of his right hand, Tomura smirked in spite of the pain on his very soul and slammed his left hand onto the floor…
-A few seconds later, at All For One's hidden lair…-
"My god…" uttered Kyuudai who stared at the destruction caused by Tomura in horror. Although all the cameras had been destroyed by Tomura's altered quirk, those few seconds of video footage were enough for him to see Tomura transform parts of the floor and walls into jagged blue spikes which had golden highlights. The spikes then unleashed bolts of multi-coloured lightning which struck three of the noumus, disintegrating two of them into dust while the grey-skinn noumu turned into some kind of unnatural monstrosity with blue skin, multiple heads and limbs and far too many gold-yellow eyes. As for the hidden fourth noumu, which attacked by creating stone spikes with one of its quirks, Kyuudai was certain that it had been destroyed as its tracking beacon had been lost.
All For One gritted his teeth as he growled, "Doctor, have everything that is of value transferred and destroy the rest. Both Tomura and Kurogiri have betrayed us and will likely reveal all of the locations that they know to Lorgar and her cultists."
"As you command, Master," said Kyuudai who then left hastily to not only fulfil All For One's order but also escape from being in the furious villain's vicinity.
After Kyuudai had made his hasty retreat, All For One suddenly roared in anger and smashed the multiple screens that showed the disastrous assassination attempt. Not only were Lorgar and at least some of her cultists still alive but she had also somehow gotten both Tomura and Kurogiri to join her cause. His plans for Tomura had been all but ruined by Tomura's unprecedented betrayal. The worst part however was the simple fact that he had truly lost control of the situation with Lorgar and he knew that any attempt to rule the world would be in jeopardy as long as she and her cult lived. Once All For One had calmed himself, he swore, "Lorgar, I will destroy you and your cult, down to the last miserable soul that dares to worship your gods!"
By the time Lorgar, Tomura, Kurogiri and the five remaining khornate cultists decided to start investigating the various hidden hideouts controlled by Kyuudai and All For One, the two villains would be long gone along with everything that could be taken away.
-A short while, plus one warp gate, later…-
"While I'm happy to see that you have chosen to side with me and the Dark Gods, I am curious about the reason for your decision," said Lorgar who was sitting next to Tomura. Currently, Lorgar, Tomura, Kurogiri and the five surviving khornate cultists were hiding in an abandoned warehouse to rest for a while before planning their next move.
Tomura was silent for a moment before he asked Lorgar, "Do you remember me saying that I hate everything and want to destroy it all?" Lorgar nodded before he continued to speak, "When you fought those noumus, I recalled thinking of you as a sister and that thought made me remember my past before I was left to rot on the streets by everyone else." His expression became bitter as he recalled his original father and said, "My father… the real one… hated pro-heroes because he believed that they brought suffering to their own families to help complete strangers. He often punished me for even talking about them, let alone wanting to become one, and basically everyone else in my family did nothing to stop him. My elder sister even lied to avoid getting punished by him while I got punished instead." He looked at his right hand and said, "When my quirk first manifested, I accidentally killed most of my family because I did not know how to use it at the time. However, when I killed my father, I did it out of rage and felt joy over the fact that the bastard would hurt me no longer."
"That was the point when you started living on the streets before meeting All For One," said Lorgar.
Tomura nodded and said, "When I remembered my past, I finally realised why I hated everything so much… why I wanted to just destroy… everything." He looked heavenward and said, "This world… this disgusting hero society, is just an extension of that damned house where I lived in fear and suffering for years. It's full of self-righteous bastards who think that being able to beat down the opposition makes them right, cowardly hypocrites who claim to be good yet choose to do nothing when they see people suffer and stupid fools who think that nothing is wrong while failing to see the festering rot that lies beneath the 'oh so-fucking-shiny' surface."
Lorgar was silent as she recalled the destruction of Monarchia during her past life before she asked, "What does that have to do with opposing All For One?"
"To put it simply, our goals are not aligned," said Tomura who then smirked self-depreciatively and added, "While a part of me will always remember him as the one who saved me in the past, I can no longer ignore the fact that he wants to rule everything while I want to destroy everything. Besides, who's to say that he does not want to rule over me too? For all I know, all the times he has treated me kindly might have been to make me easier for him to rule over."
Lorgar nodded and said, "As someone who ultimately chose to oppose a false god in her past life, I can certainly sympathise with your decision. Even so, your former master must have tried to advise you against accepting the Primordial Truth."
Tomura shrugged nonchalantly and confirmed, "Eh, he did. The thing is though, if I am going to be controlled by some arsehole like a player character in a game, I'd rather have a player that lets me to destroy everything than one that will put me in a cage when I'm not needed to destroy something so that he can play his own version of the game."
Lorgar chuckled at Tomura's response and said, "I can certainly imagine Nurgle and Khorne approving your decision to be their agent of destruction. That being said, I don't think comparing them to video game players is entirely appropriate."
"Not even Tzeentch?" asked Tomura. In his opinion, all four Dark Gods could be compared to video game players. Khorne would be the type of player to obsess over fighting games, especially the bloody types like 'Mortal Kombat', and hack and slash games like 'God of War'. Slaanesh would obviously be the type to play "disgustingly degenerate adult games" while Nurgle would play games like 'Infectonator' and 'Plague Inc.'. As for Tzeentch, he would be the sort to play strategy games like 'Starcraft' or games that involve deception like 'Among Us'.
A moment of silence passed before Lorgar amusedly admitted, "All right, I'll admit that comparing Tzeentch to a video game player is not entirely inaccurate." She knew better than to deny that Tzeentch enjoyed manipulating events and people in a manner not unlike a "dungeon master" of a tabletop game known as 'Dungeons and Dragons'.
Tomura smirked and said, "Well, regardless of what happens next, I plan to do things my way and ultimately destroy everything that has to do with that damned house."
"You'll surely face opposition from not only your former master but also the pro-heroes and rival villains," said Lorgar.
"True, but will your gods get in my way?" asked Tomura.
"Tzeentch might, if only because it is in his nature to constantly change the situation. Otherwise, the Dark Gods will not be concerned as long as your actions continue to please them," answered Lorgar.
As a gamer, Tomura knew how boring a game would become after achieving 100% completion so he somewhat understood Tzeentch's tendency to "shake things up" so that change and evolution could still continue. However, in spite of willingly embracing the powers of Chaos, Tomura was admittedly concerned about the possibility that he would eventually lose himself again after finally regaining his repressed memories. While Tomura would freely admit that he wished to destroy everything that he hated, one look at the khornate cultists, who seemed to be constantly agitated and belligerent even by his standards, was enough to make him realise that the Chaos Gods would inevitably try to alter his very way of thinking. There was also the very real issue of "eternal damnation after death" but he was already a hateful villain who had killed people so he doubted that his situation in the afterlife would have been much better even if he had never chosen to side with the Ruinous Powers. Regardless of his genuine desire to remain true to both his current and past selves, Tomura honestly believed that teaming up with Lorgar and her cult was a better choice compared to remaining under All For One's thumb. True, Lorgar's ultimate goal was to have humanity worship the Dark Gods of the Primordial Truth but she was at least honest about it.
Upon recalling Lorgar's ultimate goal, Tomura asked, "Got to ask, is there any way to keep the demands and manipulations of your gods from escalating too much?"
Lorgar blinked in surprise, as she had not expected Tomura to even consider the idea of moderation, and asked in return, "Why are you asking that?"
"I'm more of an RPG player than an RTS player or, gods forbid, a city-building game player but even I know a thing or two about resource management and rising game difficulty," explained Tomura who then narrowed his eyes and added, "To give an example, it's one thing for Khorne to demand me to kill a random NPC every eight days but forcing me into killing eight people every day regardless of how much it screws up this whole party is a whole other problem. Also, this society is not exactly a space-faring one with over a million worlds under its control that we can simply nuke to oblivion."
Lorgar frowned as she realised that Tomura actually had a point. While the Chaos Gods had always favoured those who went to great extremes, even trying to achieve the same extremes that had been achieved back in her original universe would surely ruin any chance of converting the inhabitants of the current version of Terra to Chaos Undivided due to sheer depopulation. She rubbed her chin as she spoke, "While the idea of moderation will surely be met with resistance, especially from Slaanesh, it may prove beneficial for the long term goal of achieving a lasting dominance over this world and, eventually, this entire galaxy and beyond."
Tomura nodded and said, "Maybe you can request making those 'Chaos Power-ups' tier-based the next time you pray to them. The higher the tier, the bigger the demands your gods can make. The lowest-tier worshippers will have no power-ups but also have the easiest demands and may even act as basic spies for us."
"Your game-inspired ideas certainly have merit," said Lorgar who could already imagine Tzeentch being immensely amused by Tomura's honestly audacious idea. Nurgle would probably not mind the idea as long as his gifts were allowed to spread and grow but Khorne would surely be furious at the idea of having less kills to say the least. As for Slaanesh… well… she's called the the "Lord of Excess".
While Lorgar visibly grimaced at the mere thought of even suggesting moderation while in Slaanesh's presence, Kurogiri approached the two and asked, "Shigaraki-sama, Lorgar-sama, what are your plans now that we have turned against All For One?"
"Honestly, my goal is still the same as before. The only major difference is that Lorgar and I are now officially co-op players while All For One is a rival player," said Tomura.
"The same applies to me as well," said Lorgar who then turned her attention towards Tomura and added, "If I may suggest, we should focus on staying hidden and gathering more cultists for now. Ideally, we should not only complete the collection of nine Marks of Tzeentch, seven Marks of Nurgle and six Marks of Slaanesh but also make sure that all of our core members possess at least one mark each."
"In other words, a core party of nine at minimum," said Tomura who then had a thought and asked, "Can't you receive at least one mark yourself?"
"In theory, I can. However, as a believer of Chaos Undivided, I wish to accept all four marks of the Dark Gods at the same time if possible," said Lorgar.
"Your choice then," said Tomura who, as a gamer, understood her desire to obtain a great achievement. He frowned as he continued to speak, "While I'm not against over-levelling and steam-rolling the opposition, I doubt All For One will let us go around and do as we please. There are also the pro-heroes who will surely try to stop us as soon as they know where we are and what we are doing."
"Perhaps we can try to get them to fight each other?" suggested Lorgar.
"That might work, but I'd rather not risk having them work together and wipe us out," argued Tomura.
"If I may suggest, joining a rival villain organisation might be our best option to gather more allies," suggested Kurogiri who recalled All For One mentioning different villainous groups including the Meta Liberation Army and Humarise.
"It's certainly an idea worth considering but it's one that will put us at risk of getting betrayed by our own allies, again," said Lorgar.
Tomura nodded and said, "That's true if we plan to team up with a big villain organisation. However, there are also smaller villain gangs and independent villains that we can… 'persuade' to join us." He smirked cruelly as he added, "If they choose to refuse us, well, I doubt Khorne will complain if we send some skulls in his direction."
Lorgar wore a dark smile as she agreed with Tomura's suggestion.
It was at that moment that a new villainous organisation, 'The League of Chaos Undivided', was born.
-Meanwhile, at U.A. High School…-
Nedzu, who was in his office with Guilliman, Sanguinius and Icarian, asked the three former primarchs, "What are the chances that the tragedy at Jaku General Hospital is somehow related to a major villainous organisation instead of the 'official statement' from the HPSC that it was a probably quirk-related freak accident?"
Although Nedzu and the Madam President of the HPSC did not always see eye-to-eye, he understood why she had made the "official statement". The last thing they needed was a mass panic even worse than the one that was already happening due to the sudden destruction of the hospital.
Guilliman frowned as she replayed a video clip of the hospital suddenly sinking into the ground and falling into a pit of dust and ashes while breaking apart. The unexpected destruction of the hospital occurred earlier that day and, in spite of the efforts of pro-heroes and various emergency personnel who had arrived at the scene, the casualties were already over a hundred. She then said, "You've mentioned the possibility of powerful villainous organisations lying in wait for the correct moment to strike. This might be one such moment."
"Normally, I would agree," said Nedzu who then added, "However, no one has come froward to claim that this tragedy was his or her doing."
"Perhaps it was an accident, albeit one caused by illegal activities beneath the hospital," suggested Icarian. As someone who could look into the possibility of future outcomes, she had developed a habit of considering alternate courses of action and, by extension, alternate causes of different events that had passed.
Nedzu nodded and said, "Pro-heroes and the police force are still getting information from the survivors. That being said, we have already gotten information from some of the surviving staff who work there that there is a locked-down area in the hospital that is only accessible through the morgue and has no known purpose."
"You assume that the hospital might be a front for illegal activities but only the higher-ranking members of the staff are aware of its true nature," said Sanguinius.
"My thoughts exactly," said Nedzu who then turned his attention towards Icarian and said, "I will temporarily disable your restraints so that you can use your quirk to help with the investigation." Icarian nodded at Nedzu and waited for the quirk-restraining component of the manacles around her wrists to be disabled. Once the manacles were partly disabled, Nedzu asked a question which was deliberately ambiguous enough to get an answer that would essentially be a "yes" or a "no", "What are the chances that All For One will honestly claim at least some responsibility for the destruction of Jaku General Hospital to someone within the next few years?"
Icarian frowned and answered, "It's over 90%."
"Well, that answers one question," said Nedzu who then asked, "What are the chances that Lorgar will honestly claim at least some responsibility for the destruction of Jaku General Hospital to someone within the next few years?"
Icarian's eyes widened as she answered again, "It's… 100%."
Both Guilliman and Nedzu pondered over the implications of Icarian's two answers before they both asked what was essentially the same question at the same time, "What are the chances that [Lorgar]/[All For One] intends to kill [All For One]/[Lorgar] within the next few years?"
Icarian grimaced as she answered, "100%… for both of your questions."
A moment of silence passed before Sanguinius said, "That's… not good at all."
Nedzu sighed as he spoke worriedly, "An underground war between the 'Symbol of Evil' and the former daemon prince of Chaos Undivided from another universe. Unless they somehow destroy each other completely and not everything else in the process, this will NOT end well."
"Are you certain that letting us help is still not a viable option?" asked Guilliman.
"While I appreciate your willingness to help, even if only to make sure that Lorgar does not cause any more damage, there is no telling what Lorgar and All For One will do next now that they see each other as enemies," said Nedzu who then added bitterly, "We do not even know where to begin in finding them and I doubt the investigation at the hospital will reveal anything useful."
"So we're stuck here while innocents continue to suffer?" asked Sanguinius who was clearly displeased at the idea of doing nothing.
"Legally speaking, yes," confirmed Nedzu who then added, "However, you have my word that everyone who knows about your actual origins will be informed about the hospital. Also, due to having both All Might and twelve former primarchs present here, this school will quite likely be targeted at some point which is why I am having the defences of this place upgraded even as we speak."
"I assume that Dorn is in charge of the defensive upgrades?" asked Guilliman.
"Unofficially, but yes," answered Nedzu.
"Then we can at least be assured that the defences of this place will not be lacking due to a lack of trying," said Guilliman.
"We will need something that can ward off any possible daemonic incursions," said Sanguinius.
"A modified version of a 'gellar field generator' or even a reverse-engineered 'null field generator' might work," said Guilliman.
"We can ask Vulkan and Ferrus to work on making the generators," said Sanguinius.
Nedzu nodded and said, "As much as I would like to have them focus on building a fully functional incubator for growing replacement organs, preventing the need to have organs replaced in the first place takes precedence." Part of the reason why Nedzu wanted the option to grow replacement organs was the simple reality that mechanical prosthetics did not always mesh well with a person's quirk. All Might, for example, would be unable to use his quirk to fight if his prosthetics could not cope with not only the transformation of his body every time he used his quirk but also his superhuman strength.
"Do you think we need psychic wards?" asked Icarian. Although she had died before the start of the Horus Heresy, she heard enough about the events during and after the said heresy from the other former primarchs to understand the usefulness of carefully-controlled psychic sorcery.
Guilliman sighed and groaned, "As much as I loathe resorting to sorcery and faith, we might not have a choice."
"Hopefully, building a shrine and placing some purity seals around the school grounds will be enough to ward off any possible Chaos taint," said Sanguinius.
"If you intend to build a shrine and place purity seals, perhaps doing a bit of research on local religious practices can help," suggested Nedzu.
"Might as well," said Guilliman who was familiar with the idea of sanctioned imperial cults and was quite certain that she might end up creating one on the current version of Terra. She could only hope that it would not cause the local people to become religious fanatics.
-In the primarchs' original universe…-
The Dark Gods had been keeping an eye on Lorgar, Tomura and Katsuki so they were already aware of Tomura's suggestion of moderation to Lorgar long before she prayed to them.
Tzeentch, who liked complicated long-term plans, did not mind Tomura's audacious suggestion. In fact, he found the idea very amusing as he knew that both Khorne and Slaanesh would be immensely displeased by it. He also knew that Tomura was secretly planning to rebel against becoming their pawn and found the endeavour entertaining.
Nurgle, who knew that all things were doomed to die and decay sooner or later, also did not mind Tomura's suggestion. After all, once his gifts had taken hold and were allowed to grow and spread, no amount of moderation would prevent the glorious rebirth. Besides, no one said that he could not make his "gifts" contagious.
While Khorne was furious at the very idea of moderating the number of kills, he at least knew, from experience as a god of war, that certain strategies required at least some level of restraint to be viable. He also acknowledged that, unintentional as it had been at the time, the destruction of the hospital was a fine act of ruthless murder in his name. As such, he begrudgingly heeded Lorgar's prayers but warned her that any further blessings from him would require eight times the number of skulls.
Unsurprisingly, Slaanesh was very strongly opposed to any notion of moderation, far more so than Khorne in fact. What was surprising though, even to Tzeentch, was that Slaanesh actually threw a fitful temper tantrum not unlike a spoilt child of an imperial planetary governor when she kept on refusing to listen to Lorgar's prayer. It took the combined might of the other three Dark Gods to "remind" the youngest among them that the long-term benefits would likely outweigh the temporary loss of excess and pleasure. Although Slaanesh eventually agreed to heed Lorgar's prayer, she did so with a petulant pout on her face. Even Lorgar, who viewed the four Chaos Gods reverently, could not help but find Slaanesh's reaction rather shameful.
The 42nd Millennium was a time of thirsting gods but it was also increasingly becoming a time when humanity realise that even god-like beings can make mistakes and act foolishly.
-End Chapter-
Author's Notes:
In case anyone asks, writing about the villains and how their actions and choices have changed the course of the story in Izuku's world have taken quite a bit of time and effort.
When I first started writing this story, I had the idea of Lorgar and the League of Villains being allies. That idea broke down pretty darn quickly as the writing of this story progressed. Besides the fact that All For One is the arrogant type that will refuse to bow to anyone, I needed a reason to delay the inevitable conflict between the heroes and the villains until at least the 'USJ Arc' of the canon 'Boku No Hero Academia' storyline (call me a sucker for the "stages of canon" but I want the canon Class 1A and 1B students to make their appearance at least). As for Tomura, I have already hinted that he and Lorgar are like siblings early on in this story and the canon story of 'Boku no Hero Academia' has already shown him turning against All For One for the sake of his own ideals so it is not impossible for him to side with Lorgar in this story. Some may argue that Tomura should despise the idea of being controlled the Chaos Gods but remember that he desires causing destruction which the Chaos Gods are all to happy to allow unlike All For One who wants to rule over everything instead.
Admittedly, the idea of Tomura comparing the Chaos Gods as gamers is a head-canon idea that I could not resist making.
Yes, three of the Khornate cultists who used to be Izuku's classmates are dead and Tomura has taken one of the three Marks of Khorne as a result. Among the Chaos cultists, only Tomura, Lorgar and Katsuki will have at least some level of "plot armour".
Anyway, the details of the Chaos Cultists, both living and dead, are as follows:
Shigaraki Tomura's Marks of Chaos
- The Mark of Tzeentch is on the back of his left hand. Unlike his original quirk, his left hand causes abnormal mutations in both living and non-living materials. The mutations can spread beyond the original point of contact, leaving a trail of aberrant mutations in its wake. The spread of the mutations can be channelled, thus allowing Tomura to not only extend its maximum range of effect when channelled into one direction but also keep it hidden beneath the surface and avoid mutating unintended targets. Mutated objects tend to be blue in colour with gold-yellow highlights or eyes. The mutations, both living and non-living, can also release multi-coloured gouts of flames or bolts of lightning which cause victims to either turn into dust or mutate into 'chaos spawn'.
- The Mark of Khorne is on the back of his right hand. Much like his original quirk, it causes decay and can extend its effects beyond the point of contact. However, it spreads more quickly and has a wider range of effect due to focusing on causing things to break into pieces first before decaying completely. This not only makes the altered quirk more lethal but also harder to avoid. To avoid indiscriminate destruction, Tomura can focus on destroying one single object including things that have been mutated by his left hand.
Bakugou Katsuki's Marks of Chaos
- The Mark of Khorne is Katsuki's first mark and is on the palm of his right hand. The blood that flows from the mark enhances the explosions that he creates with his right hand by granting them the ability to penetrate through armour and, upon exposure to another person's blood, create a second explosion to destroy the target from within after a short delay (not unlike a Space Marine's bolter shot). Although the effective range of penetration is short, explosions from his right hand can still cause additional explosions when it comes into contact with blood.
Unimi Paiku - His Mark of Khorne is on the back of his right hand. The bronze-coloured spikes that he grows on his right hand are not only sharper and harder but also grant him the ability to heal and rejuvenate himself by draining the blood of his enemies.
Kesseki Ude - His Mark of Khorne is on the back of his right hand. Stone growths on his right hand are bronze-coloured and tougher than the ones that grows on the rest of his body. It also has sharpened edges for cutting and tearing through flesh. The blood drawn by the bronze-coloured stones on his right hand allows him to heal and rejuvenate himself. (Yes, he is dead.)
Furekku Suji - His Mark of Khorne is on the back of his right hand. While the mark grants enhanced strength in his right arm even in its base form, the effects are even more pronounced when he transforms into his muscular form. In his muscular form, the right arm grows tough red scaly skin and sharp black claws. His right arm is also immune to fire. (Yes, he is dead.)
Shaapuno Hakiba - His mark of Khorne is on his right cheek. When his teeth transforms, they are shark-like and metallic-iron in colour. His teeth can bite through metal and stone and, when drawing blood, allows him to heal and rejuvenate himself.
Sukuinote Kakeru - His mark of Khorne is on the back of his left hand. When he grows his additional forearms, the forearms posses tough red scaly skin and sharp black claws. They are also longer than his original forearms and are immune to fire so he can use the red-skinned forearms as his primary means of physical attacks. (Yes, he is dead.)
Kyoufuu Kazeko - Her Mark of Khorne is on the palm of her right hand. The blood that comes from the mark allows the gales of wind from her right hand to slash through her enemies. Should her enemies bleed, their blood will be added to the gales of wind to not only make the cutting attacks stronger but also longer-ranged. However, the initial effective range of her blood-enhanced gale of wind is short so she must get close enough to use it.
Kagayaku Tamako - Her Mark of Khorne is on the palm of her left hand. The blood that comes from the mark allows her balls of energy to become even more destructive due to enhanced concussive power. However, the effectiveness of the blood is short-lived so she must fight in close quarters to make full use of its effects.
I plan to go back to writing about Izuku and the former primarchs at U.A. High School. Perhaps a training montage arc before the start of the exam.
Until next time, go beyond, plus ultra!
