Boku no Hero Academia: Custodian Izuku
Disclaimer: This is a crossover fanfiction story of 'Boku no Hero Academia' and 'Warhammer 40k' (yes, really). I own nothing of the two series other than the fanfiction stories that I make.
I am making this story for the sake of fun, fluff and awesome after writing a one-shot story of the same story concept. If I am able to somehow impress fans of Warhammer 40k or even move someone to tears, even better.
Also, if anyone wants to know how in the world I got this idea in the first place, please refer to the artist, Ryuusei (Mark II), who has made some awesome pictures of gender-bent primarchs. The link is: .us/pools/17320
Please note that while I am familiar with the Warhammer 40k setting, my actual knowledge of it is casual at best. Also, if the genderbent primarchs seem at least a bit OOC, please kindly consider the fact that their bodies (especially the traitor primarchs) have changed drastically after entering Izuku's world.
In case anyone asks how much crack I was taking in to come up with the idea, I am just going to say enough to make even a loyalist Adaptus Astartes trippy.
Chapter 16: Days at U.A. High School (Part 2)
Shortly after the team matches had concluded, Izuku, Inko, Eri and the former primarchs who had joined the hero course returned to the Imperial Dorm. As they entered the dorm, they noticed Dorn, Ferrus and Vulkan sitting around a coffee table with their faces "firmly planted" onto the said table as though they had just fought an entire 'Ork WAARGH!' while armed with only spoons. Curious and concerned, Izuku asked the three, "Are you three okay?"
Dorn did not even bother to shift her face to speak clearly as she grumbled, "No, we have an Emperor-damned 'orky heretek' in our school."
Icarian raised an eyebrow and asked, "Orky… heretek?"
Similar to Dorn, Ferrus did not bother to shift her face to speak clearly as she groused, "I don't know how it's even possible, but that girl, Hatsume Mei, somehow has the combined madness of both an 'Ork Mekboy' and a 'Heretek' of the Adeptus Mechanicus in her mortal human brain!"
Vulkan suddenly raised her upper body to sit up straight and ran her hands over her hair as she complained, "Dat krazy git actually dought dat strappin' literal xplosive rocketz onta sumone'z back iz a gud idea to kounta Sanguiniuz' aerial superiority!"
No one knew exactly why but Vulkan had an unusual habit of talking like an Ork every time she got agitated or angry. The former primarchs suspected that it had to do with the way her past self died during a terrible conflict that happened after the Horus Heresy known as the 'War of the Beast'. Considering that she had sacrificed herself by literally detonating an orky generator that was producing massive amounts of 'WAAAGH!' energy, while empowering herself with that very same energy at the same time so that she could defeat a powerful ork known as the Beast, some side-effects were to be expected even though she was an immortal perpetual who could resurrect herself after dying.
Even Angron and Curze grew worried as Lion asked, "Is it even safe to let her continue studying in the support course?"
"Normally, I'd say no but she's actually good at what she does," said Dorn who then added despairingly, "It's just that she comes up with crazy ideas that only an Ork would approve."
"We had ta stop her from makin' da lab xplode… so many Emprah-zoggin' timez," groaned Vulkan.
It should be noted that a certain pro-hero who also worked as a teacher of the support course at U.A. High School, Maijima Higari, was very thankful that Dorn, Ferrus and Vulkan were present to prevent Mei from making the lab explode multiple times. In fact, he was willing to give them extra credit out of genuine gratitude and the other students in the support course unanimously agreed with Higari's decision.
"By the way, Izuku, she knows about your analysis skills and quirkless status so be ready for her demanding you to help her with making her support gear," warned Dorn.
"Why would she want my help?" asked Izuku who was both curious and worried.
"She thinks your analysis on quirks can be useful in making specialised support gear and considers your quirkless status as a potential boon for helping her create high-quality support gear that may very well be good enough to be comparable to natural quirks," said Dorn.
"In otha' wordz, dat krazy git wantz ta uze ya as a lab rat for her 'babiez'," grumbled Vulkan.
Although Izuku was glad to know that Mei did not seem to perceive his quirkless status as a reason for mockery, he could not shake off the terrifying idea of her strapping him onto an actual explosive rocket in an attempt to get him airborne. As such, he nervously said, "I'll keep that in mind… and keep an eye out for any inventors who want to use me to test their support gear."
Guilliman walked out of the kitchen with another girl whom the returning group of people had never met before and said, "Dinner is ready, everyone!"
Russ frowned at the unfamiliar girl who had tan skin, light-pink hair, darker-pink eyes and the ears and tail of a pink-furred cat. A primal canine part off her felt offended by the pink-haired girl's very presence as she growled, "Who's… that?"
"She's a student from the business course," answered Guilliman who then introduced her to the group who had just returned, "Her name is Nekomimi Nekona and she's offered to show me her cooking skills."
"Pleased to meet you, nyan," said Nekona while bowing to the group that had just returned from heroics training. As she did so, she kept a wary eye on Russ who clearly did not seem to like her for some reason.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Nekomimi," said Inko while she, Izuku and Eri bowed in return in typical Japanese custom.
Lion turned her attention towards Guilliman and said, "You mentioned about dinner."
"She offered to cook a meal for us to showcase her culinary skills and I agreed to let her do so as long as I was present to watch her cook," said Guilliman. Left unsaid was that Guilliman had made sure that Nekona did not use any "unauthorised ingredients or tricks" while preparing the meal.
Understanding the unspoken statement, Lion nodded while Angron asked, "What did she make?"
"I've prepared omurice for everyone, nyan," said Nekona.
"Omurice?" asked Eri.
Not surprised by Eri's ignorance due to both her young age and tragic early life, Inko kindly explained, "It's a fried rice dish with a scrambled egg omelette placed on top of it."
"Well, since we're going to have dinner soon and she's kind enough to prepare dinner for us, I suppose we should at least give her dish a try," said Jaghatai.
"Will you be eating with us?" asked Sanguinius.
"Of course," said Nekona who then added, "I want to hear your opinions about my omurice after all, nyan."
"What's your quirk by the way?" asked Izuku.
"Oh, my quirk is 'Meowscular'," answered Nekona who then explained, "It allows me to grow big and strong, nyan."
"That sound like a pretty strong quirk," said Izuku who somehow took out a notebook out of seemingly nowhere to write down Nekona's quirk.
"It is but I've always wanted to own my own restaurant and, since pro-heroes can help with advertisement, I've decided to join the business course here, nyan," replied Nekona.
Izuku nodded and said, "It's certainly true that pro-heroes can be a good source of advertisement for a business. That being said, your cooking skills will have to be legit for your restaurant to be successful regardless of advertising. That's not even counting which pro-hero is advertising your business."
Nekona nodded and said, "Indeed. The last thing I want to happen is for my restaurant business to suffer like Disney or Bud Light during the early 21st century, nyan."
Before long, dinner was served and, to nearly everyone's delight, Nekona's omurice was delicious.
"It's really tasty!" said Eri before stuffing her face with another spoonful of omurice with a happy smile on her face.
Curze smiled as she petted the little girl and said, "It certainly is."
"Assuming that all the dishes you plan to cook is of this quality, I can imagine you running a successful restaurant in the future even without using my quirk," said Icarian.
Angron, who clearly liked Nekona's omurice the most, blushed as she offered her "cleaned" plate and said, "Seconds, please."
"Coming right up, nyan!" said Nekona who was happy to know that her omurice was a hit among the residents of the Imperial Dorm. It was unanimously agreed by basically everyone in the business course that the residents of the dorm had the potential to be the next great heroes of the world.
While Nekona entered the kitchen to prepare another helping of omurice for Angron, as well as quite possibly other people as well, Russ grumbled, "I hate to say it, but her cooking's good."
"Why do you seem to dislike her so much?" asked Corax. She was far from the only one to have noticed Russ' unusual animosity towards Nekona.
"I don't know. I just have this urge to chase her away from the moment I saw her just now," said Russ.
"Maybe it's because she's a cat and you're a wolf," said Eri who understood that wolves were basically "big and fierce doggies".
A moment of silence passed before Angron snorted and said, "That actually makes sense."
Russ "planted" her face onto the table and groaned, "You have got to be frakking kidding me!"
Nekona, who was in the kitchen at the time, overheard the conversation due to her keen cat-like sense of hearing and said, "So that's why she does not seem to like me, and why I have this urge to transform and smack her in the face every time she glares at me."
-Some time later…-
After everyone had eaten dinner together, Nekona excused herself as she had to return to her own dorm. Before she left, she promised to visit again so that she could receive feedback on her other recipes. As everyone in the Imperial Dorm started to settle down for the evening, another group of visitors decided to drop by.
Inko tilted her head and asked, "A room competition?"
Mina, Tooru and Setsuna were grinning broadly as they nodded in unison before the pink-skinned girl said, "You and the others from the Imperial Dorm have been living here for quite a while already so you must have pretty amazing rooms."
"Well, I can't exactly say that our rooms are all that amazing," said Dorn who was being honest as the former primarchs' current rooms at U.A. High School were downright quaint compared to what they had owned back in their original universe.
"Let us be the judge of that," said Setsuna.
Tooru was clearly giving the residents of the Imperial Dorm the "puppy eyes" in spite of being invisible as she begged, "Please?"
Although the dorm residents saw no reason to humour the girls, most of them also saw no reason to not allow it at all. As such, Angron sighed and grumbled half-heartedly, "I suppose there are worse ways to waste an evening."
Sanguinius chuckled and said, "It seems that we're in majority agreement then." She then turned her attention towards Mina, Tooru and Setsuna and said, "Very well, we will hold the room competition but kindly keep the number of visitors reasonable."
"Yay!" exclaimed Mina, Tooru and Setsuna who then informed the rest of their classmates of the impromptu room competition. It only took a short while for every girl from Classes 1A and 1B to visit the dorm together with Minoru, Hanta, Denki, Mashirao, Eijirou, Inasa, Kousei, Monoma, Juuzou, Shihai and Tetsutetsu. Fumikage and Tenya had already seen the rooms before so they felt little need to take part in the room competition while the other boys were busy, uninterested or, as in the case of Kouji, Kojirou and Shouda, a little shy about visiting the Imperial Dorm to look at the girls' rooms.
With everyone gathered, Guilliman looked at her peers from Classes 1A and 1B and said, "It will be late soon so let us go upstairs to the second floor right away."
At the second floor, the first room that the visitors from Classes 1A and 1B looked at was Izuku's room which was right next to the floor entrance. Izuku was understandably embarrassed as nearly everyone from Classes 1A and 1B stared into his room and shared one thought, "His room is basically a wet-dream for any collector of All Might merchandise!" Ochako and Tsuyu, who had seen his room before, chuckled at their reactions.
The two things that really stood out in Izuku's room was a well-crafted clay figurine of a swordsman standing vigil while wearing what seemed to be futuristic plate armour and a detailed hand-drawn picture of All Might doing an actual bro-fist with the same man. Not surprisingly, many of the visitors grew curious and Eijirou asked, "Who's that manly-looking dude?"
Well-prepared for the possibility of someone asking him about the drawing and the figurine, Izuku replied, "Oh, he's someone from the girls' past."
Guilliman nodded and said, "He is a father-figure who, quite honestly, was terrible at being a father."
"For all his flaws though, he ultimately meant well in his own way," said Vulkan.
"So that's their father," thought Denki and Monoma.
"I'm guessing he's not something you girls like to talk about often?" asked Kyouka.
"You can say that," confirmed Angron.
"Then let's not linger on the topic for a second longer and carry on with the room competition," said Mina who was determined to have a good time with everyone in spite of the heavy topic she and the others had unintentionally brought up.
The next room that the visitors visited was Angron's room which was beside Izuku's room. Angron crossed her arms over her chest and said, "My room's nothing special."
At first glance, Angron's room seemed downright Spartan with only a few notable items such as books on psychology. However, Mina noticed something on Angron's bed and smirked as she spoke, "I wouldn't be too sure about that."
Angron took a moment to realise that she had forgotten to hide a little plush toy that was clearly based on Izuku. Her entire face became red as she avoided looking at anyone in the eyes.
Ochako, who had seen the plush toy before, giggled and said, "Angron-chan asked Dorn-chan to make a plush toy of Midoriya-kun for her."
"Normally, I'd be surprised that such a tough girl has something so cutesy in her room but her crush on Midoriya has been pretty darn obvious from day one," said Denki. Nearly everyone nodded in agreement with him as they recalled how Ochako got Angron flustered by simply asking her if she had ever kissed Izuku. A furious glare from Angron almost made Denki wet himself in fright even though she was still blushing.
The next room was Vulkan's room which was next to Angron's room. Setsuna loved dinosaurs but she also had an interest in reptiles in general so it was no surprise that she immediately took notice of the terrarium in Vulkan's room and said, "I didn't know you have a leopard gecko, Vulkan."
Vulkan chuckled and said, "Little Leonid has been… 'volunteered' to help Eri-chan learn to control her quirk. It's only fair that I help to keep it safe and healthy in between training sessions."
"Well, judging by how relaxed it is, I think you're doing a pretty good job," said Setsuna who noted how Leonid took one look at them before resuming it's nap on top of a dead tree branch in the heated terrarium.
"Kouda-chan would have loved to see the little guy, kero," said Tsuyu who made a mental note to introduce Kouji's pet rabbit,Yuwai-chan, to Eri.
Dorn's room was the fourth room that was visited by the group and, in spite of being aware of her skills in making plush toys, nearly everyone was still surprised by the sheer quantity and variety of both plush toys and synthetic fur carpets in her room. Dorn tried to remain stoic but her blush was obvious for everyone to see as Tooru squealed in delight and hugged one of the plush toys, which was actually a "chibified" version of an Imperial Fist Space Marine, while saying, "Oh, my gosh, it's so soft!"
Momo, who came from a very rich family, knelt down and touched one of the fur carpets before saying, "It's… really well-made." She then turned her attention towards Dorn and asked, "Did you really make all of these by yourself?"
Dorn's blush intensified as she replied, "Yes."
A moment of silence passed before Monoma said, "Assuming that you're as good as tailoring as I'm starting to assume here, I'm definitely going to ask you to make my next hero costume." Nearly all the other visitors nodded in agreement with Monoma.
After visiting Dorn's room, which lasted a bit longer than expected due to the girls being reluctant to leave the soft plush toys and fur carpets behind, everyone went to the opposite room which belonged to Khan. Kendou, who liked both black coffee and motorcycles, saw an actual schematic of a futuristic-looking motorcycle on Khan's wall and asked, "You like motorcycles too?"
Khan nodded with a smile and said, "As soon as I get my licence to ride on motorcycles, I'm going to have one of these built for me and ride on it to the sunset."
"That sounds awesome!" said Inasa while both Eijirou and Tetsutetsu nodded in agreement with him.
Kendou grinned at Khan and said, "Well, I certainly won't mind going on a bike ride to the sunset with you when the time comes."
Sanguinius' room was next and it was, to put it briefly, a room fit for a high-class artist. Although it was filled with both art supplies and various paintings, the room looked neat and beautifully decorated with various paintings and even sculptures.
"Well, this is certainly an artist's room if I've ever seen one," said Juuzou.
"It kind of reminds me of my own room for some reason," said Kyouka.
"Oh, are you an artist as well?" asked Sanguinius.
Kyouka blushed and said, "Kind of. I come from a family of musicians and I thought of becoming a musician like them at first before I decided to try and be a pro-hero."
"She has a lot of musical instruments in her room!" said Tooru.
Russ grinned and said, "I have an electric guitar in my room if you want to give us a demonstration."
Guilliman sighed and grumbled, "Even now, I still fail to see the appeal of that… metal music you listen to."
Russ rolled her eyes and said, "That's because you prefer listening to traditional Roman music while reading and studying, nerd."
"Which metal bands do you listen to?" asked Kyouka.
"I've been listening to 'Manowar', 'Brothers of Metal' and 'Sabaton'," answered Russ.
"Somehow, I'm not surprised that you enjoy listening to those three pre-quirk metal bands," said Kyouka who also enjoyed listening to their songs. She then added, "You should check out 'Miracle of Sound'. They are not a metal band but they have some pretty good songs that you might like."
"I'll keep that in mind," said Russ.
When the group left Sanguinius' room to check out Curze and Eri's shared room, Ibara was the last to leave due to sheer reluctance.
Mashirao blinked as he stared into the shared room and said, "Am I the only one who thinks that this… 'clash' is a little much?"
"Nope…!" said nearly every visitor in unison as they stared at the room with dumbstruck expressions on their faces. On one hand, the room had many things that one would expect a little girl to have such as plush toys of ponies from 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic' and crayons for drawing pictures. On the other hand, the room also had decorations that clearly belonged to someone who loved the horror genre such as expertly-crafted replicas of iconic masks worn by famous pre-quirk horror villains including Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers and Leatherface. There was even a poster of 'Friday the 13th'. The clash of decorations was somewhat mitigated by the presence of pre-quirk comic books that featured famous horror icons in more heroic or comical adaptations such as 'Camp Counsellor Jason Voorhees' and 'Erma'.
Eri was blushing as she asked the visitors, "So, what do you think?"
"Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect but, in hindsight, I feel that I shouldn't be too surprised by this," said Kousei.
Juuzou nodded and added, "It is a shared room after all." Left unsaid was that the room was shared between Eri and Curze who clearly had different preferences..
Mina, who had always loved old pre-quirk era films, especially of the sci-fi horror genre such as 'Aliens', grinned at Curze and asked, "So, you love horror movies too?"
Curze nodded and said, "I find some them pretty funny."
Curze's frank response made nearly everyone from Classes 1A and 1B pause for a moment before Reiko asked, "You… find them funny?"
"Yes," replied Curze.
"How so, exactly?" asked Shihai.
"The ways some of the victims get killed are pretty silly," replied Curze who recalled snickering while watching a scene of Jason Voorhees killing a young woman who tried hiding inside a sleeping bag by swinging the said bag and slamming it against a tree. She especially found a film named 'Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil' hilarious.
"She sometimes lets me watch them so that she can teach me how to avoid getting killed in silly ways," said Eri. As a child who had experienced actual torture and was saved by Curze, watching a horror film that involved slashers was honestly not very terrifying for her as long as Cruze was present as a source of security.
Another moment of silence passed before Minoru softly uttered, "Awkward…!"
"Anyway, let's carry on with the room competition!" said Tooru who was determined to change the topic. No one even thought to argue against the decision.
The last room that they visited on the second floor was Inko's room which was opposite Izuku's room. It was a rather ordinary room but Inko wasted no time in showing everyone pictures of Izuku's early childhood and some of the more memorable moments he had with the former primarchs. Understandably, Izuku and many of the former primarchs were embarrassed by the pictures while the students, especially the girls, took delight in looking at them. Considering the fact that it was also the moment when they learnt about not only Izuku's days of wearing an All Might onesie as a young child but also Angron wearing the dreaded frilly pink dress, their embarrassment was certainly understandable.
After looking at the pictures, with no small amount of friendly teasing at Izuku and even Angron's expense, the group made their way to the third floor. The first room that they visited was Lion's room as it was closest to the entrance. Similar to Angron's room, it was rather Spartan. In fact, it was even barer than Angron's room.
"As you can see, there is nothing of note in this room," said Lion who then curtly added, "Now, let us continue so that we can settle this pointless activity."
Mina pointed at Lion while asking Sanguinius, "She's not exactly one who likes fun, is she?"
"That's one way to put it," answered Sanguinius.
Guilliman nodded and said, "She's what you would call an 'all work and no play' kind of person."
"In other words, she's even duller than an a hammer," said Russ who had a grin on her face.
Lion glared at Russ and punched her in the arm with enough force to fracture most people's bones. Russ easily withstood the blow with no lasting harm and snickered at Lion's reaction.
The next room that the group visited was Corax's room which was next to Lion's room. To put it simply, it was a dark and gloomy room with a distinctively Gothic feel to it. Shihai nodded in approval and said, "You have good taste, Corvus-san."
Reiko also approved as she spoke, "Your room has a rather… comforting sense of eerie gloom to it."
"You two should check out Tokoyami's room then. His room is quite well-decorated too," said Corax.
It should be noted that Fumikage also liked Corax's room.
Pony timidly peeked out from behind Kendou and said, "This room's scary!"
"It feels like an actual ghost might appear at any moment here!" said Denki who was equally spooked.
The third room that they visited on the third floor was Icarian's room. Unlike the other rooms, Icarian's room was clearly Japanese in design as it had tatami mats on the floor and Japanese-style glass doors with wooden frames.
Kinoko tilted her head and said, "It looks like the kind of room my grandparents would live in, shroom."
Icarian blushed and admitted, "The tatami flats are… comforting to me." Left unsaid was that, in the former primarchs' original universe, the planet that she had lived on for much of her early life had a culture that was similar to that of ancient Japan.
"Well, this room is certainly distinct if nothing else," said Hanta who recalled how his own room had a South-east Asian design.
Considering that Icarian had lived in the dorm for months, no one thought it unusual for her room to have such a distinct appearance. After all, it was not as though she had the whole room redesigned within a day unlike a certain Todoroki Shouto whose talent in redesigning rooms still remained unknown to his peers.
Although each floor had a total of eight rooms, only six girls lived in the third floor so no one occupied the two rooms farthest from the entrance. That being said, Russ' personal brewery occupied one of the two rooms and it was next to her own room which was opposite Icarian's room. As such, Russ showed the visitors both her personal brewery and her room.
"To think that you would use advanced technology for such a sinful endeavour!" said Ibara as she looked at the frighteningly advanced-looking incubator that was already brewing high-quality alcoholic drinks.
"Bah, if brewing alcohol is such a sin, Jesus wouldn't have turned water into wine!" argued Russ.
Ibara wanted to argue but, well aware of the biblical stories of Jesus Christ turning water into wine, she stayed silent with an indignant pout instead.
"I'm still surprised that you're even allowed to brew any of this stuff," said Setsuna while looking at the machine.
"In my defence, this machine is just a prototype to do more advanced stuff like growing tissues or even organs for transplantation," said Russ.
"Not that it wasn't a convenient excuse for her to brew her own alcohol, mind you," said Vulkan.
"She laughed like a mad dok the moment this room was set up," said Dorn.
"Let's not forget the time when she got the teachers drunk," grumbled Guilliman.
"Wait, she got the teachers drunk?" asked Mina who then grinned broadly and said, "This is something I've got to hear!"
Russ chortled and said, "Ah, that's a fun story to tell. However, in the spirit of keeping this 'room competition' on track, this is a story best told at another time. For now, let us take a look at my actual room."
Before long, everyone looked into Russ' room and realised that she had a clear love for Norse mythology, cooking and metal music. Just as she had claimed earlier, she had an electric guitar which was notably larger than regular ones and was designed with a wolf motif. Kyouka whistled and said, "Damn, that guitar looks sick!"
"Got it custom-made for my size by Ferrus herself," said Russ.
Ferrus rolled her eyes and said, "She wouldn't stop bugging me to make an electric guitar that she can use to both play music and bash heads in."
"That guitar looks really manly!" said Tetsutetsu.
"Have you played any music with it?" asked Kyouka.
"A few times, but I mostly follow the tunes that I have already listened to," said Russ.
"Maybe we can try doing a band performance one day," said Kyouka.
"I'd like that," said Russ who was happy to have someone who wanted to play metal music with her. None of the other former primarchs, not even Sanguinius who loved art and music, were particularly enthusiastic about it.
Ferrus' room was between Russ and Guilliman's room so her room was the second last room to be visited. As soon as the visitors looked into the room, it was clear that she had an interest in both blacksmithing and engineering. Considering the different schematic drawings of both medieval weapons and advanced weaponry, her interest was rather impossible to mistake.
"Well, I'm definitely going to ask you for help with weapons and armour," said Denki while looking at a schematic drawing of a sword that had a futuristic look. In truth, the sword was Ferrus' attempt to recreate 'power swords' with the technology currently available.
"Holy crap, is that an actual schematic for power armour?" said Eijirou while looking at a drawing of what was clearly a power armour meant for military use. Yes, it was designed after the power armour worn by the space marines from Ferrus' original universe.
Ferrus smiled and said, "While I cannot guarantee that my weapons and armour will be able to mesh well with your quirks, I'm willing to do the best I can for all of you."
"Just knowing that we have your support is plenty already, kero," said Tsuyu while many other students nodded in affirmative.
"Maybe, you'll even build a suit that lets us go into space one day!" said Ochako who loved the idea of exploring the stars.
The former primarchs almost chuckled at Ochako's innocent naivety.
The last room that everyone visited was Guilliman's room. If Icarian's room was Japanese in design, Guilliman's room was its Roman counterpart. Another distinctive feature of the room was the shelves that were filled with books that covered various topics such as economics and war strategy.
"I didn't expect you to have an interest in Roman culture," said Momo.
"It's designs are appealing to me," replied Guilliman who, in the former primarchs' original universe, had lived on a planet named Macragge which had a Roman culture.
With all the rooms visited, everyone returned to the ground floor of the dorm. Mina then had everyone place their votes into a box before announcing the results, "After looking through the votes, the winner of the competition through having the majority of the votes is Dorn!"
Surprised, Dorn pointed at herself and asked, "Seriously? Why me?"
"It's because your room is full of soft and fluffy things!" said Tooru. Nearly all the girls nodded to affirm their agreement with Tooru's statement.
"I stand by my statement about wanting Dorn to make my costumes for me," said Monoma who had clearly voted for Dorn as well.
A moment of silence passed before Sanguinius started to chuckle. Her laughter was contagious as many other residents of the dorm soon started chuckling as well. Dorn's blush intensified as she grumbled, "I'm never going to live this one down, am I?"
"There's nothing unmanly about liking soft and fluffy things," said Eijirou.
"Whose room did you vote for?" asked Izuku.
"I voted for Russ' room. It's a really manly room," said Eijirou.
"Same here," said Tetsutetsu and Inasa in unison.
"I voted for Corax's room," said Shihai. Reiko nodded to indicate that she had also voted for Corax's room.
"I was was tempted to vote for Khan's room but the fluffy room won in the end," admitted Kendou who smiled sheepishly.
Ibara coughed softly and blushed while saying, "I voted for Sanguinius' room."
"Same here, actually," said Kousei who then sheepishly admitted, "The image of Sanguinius painting a picture in that room was enough to make me vote for her." Denki, Hanta and Minoru nodded with Kousei as they too thought about it and decided that Sanguinius deserved their votes.
Ibara glared at the four boys and thought, "I'm tempted to call them out for their impure thoughts but… I can't really blame their logic." Yes, she had voted for Sanguinius' room as well.
Juuzou scratched the back of his head and said, "I voted for Curze and Eri's room. It's a very distinctive room."
"No argument there," said Mashirao who voted for Icarian's room because its Japanese aesthetic reminded him of pre-quirk era martial arts films that he enjoyed watching on occasion.
The day ended with the visitors having some snacks with the residents of the Imperial Dorm before heading back to their respective dorms for the night. It was also the time when Eri realised that, like Fumikage, Pony liked apples as well.
-On the following day…-
Izuku and the rest of Class V were having their home-room period with Toshinori when the skeletal blond man announced, "Today, you are required to elect a class representative and a vice representative."
"Not interested," said Russ who then explained, "I'm all for being a leader who leads brave warriors to glorious battles but dealing with paperwork is a frakking pain in the arse."
Jaghatai nodded and said, "Personally, I'd rather not have to force myself to sit still in one place to deal with paperwork."
"I'm not one for publicly prominent positions of authority," said Corax.
"The last time I led a legion, I made many unforgivable mistakes, including choosing to betray the people of the Imperium," said Angron while Curze nodded.
"I may not have chosen to betray the Imperium, but I have made my own terrible mistakes," said Icarian.
"I don't mind the responsibilities of being a representative of this class but I am already busy with both making support gear and upgrading the defences of the school," said Dorn while both Vulkan and Ferrus nodded.
"So that leaves Guilliman, Sanguinius, Lion and Izuku," said Toshinori.
"What about me?" asked Eri while pointing at herself.
Surprised, everyone stared at Eri and blinked a few times before Toshinori said, "Well… you're much too young to be a class representative or vice representative. This is a class for high school students and, regardless of the circumstances that have brought you here, you're not high school age."
"Oh, okay," said Eri who was a little disappointed of not being able to be a class representative or vice representative. In her young mind, being a class representative or vice representative meant being able to help the rest of the class and she really wanted to be helpful towards Izuku and the former primarchs.
A moment of awkward silence passed before Toshinori coughed into his hand and said, "While you're too young to be a class representative or vice representative of this class, that does not mean that you cannot help in other ways, Eri-shoujo."
"We can always use a junior assistant," said Sanguinius who had an amused smile on her face.
Eri's expression immediately brightened and said, "Okay!"
"That still leaves the issue of who will be the class representative and vice representative of this class," said Lion.
Lion sighed and said, "I'm… not exactly the best at dealing with people and even I know that the people of this world are very different from the ones I have dealt with before."
Izuku scratched the back of his head and said, "I not sure if I'm ready for a position of authority and, at least for now, I want to focus on improving myself as a hero student."
Understanding Lion and Izuku's shared decision to not become class representative or vice representative, Toshinori asked Sanguinius and Guilliman, "What about you, two?"
Guilliman shrugged and said, "Personally, I am all right with either position. I'm used to dealing with paperwork and, compared to what I had to deal with in the past, this should be a lot easier in comparison." She then turned her attention towards Sanguinius and said, "That being said, I have the feeling that making Sanguinius vice representative will be an unwise decision."
Sanguinius sighed and muttered, "This is Imperium Secundus all over again."
Guilliman smiled and said, "On the bright side, we don't have to worry about our own classmates being outraged by the idea of your being a vice representative."
"There is that, but your previous statement clearly imply that at least a few members of this school will not approve of me being a 'mere vice representative' of this class," said Sanguinius.
Toshinori chuckled and said, "Such is the issue of fame, I'm afraid."
In the end, it was decided that Sanguinius would be the class representative with Guilliman as vice representative and Eri as junior assistant. In addition, Curze volunteered to be Eri's "personal guard".
As for Classes 1A and 1B, Momo became the class representative of 1A with Tenya as her vice representative while Kendou became the class representative of Class 1B with Nirengeki as her vice representative.
-Later that same day…-
Izuku was walking towards the cafeteria with the rest of Class V to have lunch when someone suddenly yelled, "There you are!"
Surprised, Izuku turned around to see a certain pink-haired girl with a mature build and yellow eyes which resembled scope lenses. Dorn, Ferrus and Vulkan immediately recognised the girl and thought in unison, "Oh, Emperor's Bloody Balls, it's Mei!"
Unaware, as well as uncaring to be perfectly honest, of the fact that three literal former demigods were a bit terrified of her, Mei approached the group and spoke to Izuku, "I've been trying to get in touch with you since the entrance exams!"
Izuku took a step back away from the intense pink-haired girl and said, "You're… Hatsume-san, aren't you?"
Mei's grin widened as she rhetorically asked, "Oh, so those three girls have told you about me and my babies then?"
"You can say that," said Izuku who was beginning to understand why Dorn, Ferrus and Vulkan had described Mei as an 'orky heretek'. The manic gleam in her eyes was downright frightening.
Before anyone, even the former primarchs, could react, Mei suddenly started feeling Izuku's body while saying, "Damn, for such a plain-looking boy, you're pretty well built!"
Outraged by Mei's act, Angron immediately grabbed her by the back of her uniform and yelled at her face, "What the frak are you doing?!" Letting Izuku make his own friends was one thing but letting some random person suddenly run his or her hands all over his body against his will was another matter altogether.
Clearly unrepentant, Mei grinned at Angron and said, "I'm getting his measurements of course! I can't start making his babies without knowing them."
Surprised that Mei did not show any fear, Angron was stunned for a second before she growled in a way that would have made most people whimper in sheer terror, "And why should any of us let you be responsible for making his support gear?"
"Why not?" asked Mei who then added, "He wants to be a pro-hero even though he's quirkless and could have done well in the support course thanks to his skill in quirk analysis. He will need all the help he can get to do well as a pro-hero and making support gear so good that they can keep up with quirks will surely be useful for him."
Mei's sincere response and lack of fear was such that Angron almost felt a begrudging sense of respect towards her. Even so, Angron argued, "In case you haven't noticed, he's already got Vulkan, Dorn and Ferrus to help make his support gear."
"All the more reason for me to join in then! I've seen the kinds of babies that they make and I want in!" said Mei who was clearly eager to work together with the three former primarchs.
Angron was at a loss for words as she struggled to say something to somehow dissuade Mei without resorting to threatening physical force before she sighed and turned around to face Vulkan, Dorn and Ferrus to say, "You three… have my deepest condolences."
Not even Lion was heartless enough to feel no sympathy for Vulkan, Dorn and Ferrus as they sighed in unison and shared despair.
"By the Emperor's golden throne, that girl is just as bad, if not even worse, than Belisarius Cawl," thought Guilliman who then shuddered and prayed, "Oh, Emperor of Mankind, please do NOT let those two meet in any shape or form!"
-After lunch break…-
Unlike a certain time line, there was no huge gathering of reporters and journalists at the gate of U.A. High School that day. After all, All Might had been working at U.A. High School for some time already so there was little reason for any reporter or journalist to be excited about his presence at the school at that point. True, there were the tall girls from Class V who had recently started their studies as official high school students of U.A. High School but Nedzu had made it clear that any attempt to interrogate the girls, who were still minors in terms of physical age, against their will would not be tolerated. Even if a large crowd had gathered at the gate of the school for one reason or another, the absence of a certain Shigaraki Tomura, who was elsewhere in this particular time line, meant that there was no one to destroy the gate before before taking advantage of the confusion to get away.
As a result, the rest of the school day proceeded as normal for most of the students at the school.
"Hey, ladies!" said Mei as she boldly approached Vulkan, Dorn and Ferrus. The three former primarchs stiffened ever so slightly before they reluctantly turned their attention towards Mei who was grinning broadly while presenting her latest "baby" to them, "I present to you, Baby No.1012-A!"
The three former primarchs looked at what appeared to be an advanced version of a shotgun shell in Mei's left hand. Their eyes widened as they realised that Mei had created before Ferrus asked, "H-how the frack did you manage to build and modify a bolt?!" Ferrus' yell brought the attention of everyone else in the same development studio.
Mei's grin widened as she explained, "Well, I have pretty good eyes and I noticed that one of your schematics which was about some really crazy bullets so I thought to myself, 'Why not prove myself to those three by making one?' and did just that."
A moment of stunned silence passed before Dorn asked, "You're telling me that you have built this bolt, literally from scratch at that, using only the information that you have acquired by glancing at one of our schematics?"
"Yep!" said Mei who then asked, "So, have you girls built a gun that can fire this baby?"
Ferrus, Dorn and Vulkan glanced at each other before Vulkan said, "We're… in the middle of building a gun that shoots bolts."
"Then let me help you build it so that we can test this baby I've made together!" said Mei.
In spite of their instincts warning them that letting Mei help them would be hazardous, they knew that letting Mei build anything that uses even downgraded imperial technology without their supervision was even worse. As such, the three former primarchs had no choice but to let her take part in building the very first 'bolt gun'. To their surprise, Mei was willing to follow their instructions as long as she was allowed to at least ask them if she could make any "improvements" to the gun.
Although Dorn, Vulkan and Ferrus ultimately refused to let Mei make any drastic modifications to the bolt gun, some of her suggestions, such as adding a "chain bayonet" onto the gun, were given consideration. Before long, the gun, as well as Mei's "home-brewed bolt", was ready for testing.
-A short while later…-
"You said that the bullet was supposed to stun the target," said Ferrus while looking at a smoking stump that used to be a ballistic dummy.
"Yes, I did," said Mei who was smiling in spite of fact that her bolt, which was supposed to release high voltage to stun a target upon impact, not only had enough kinetic force to punch a hole into the dummy but also released enough electrical power to cause burns and then exploded without enough force to reduce the dummy to "scorched silicon gibs". In short, Mei's "stun bolt" was clearly overkill by most sane standards.
"You also said that you have done the necessary calculations before making it," said Dorn while glancing at the experimental bolt gun that which had a smoking barrel and was thankfully still intact in spite of Mei's explosively ballistic projectile.
"Well, I might have made a mistake in using both regular shotgun shells and actual rockets as references for my calculations," admitted Mei.
A moment of silence passed before Vulkan said, "I'll admit…" she then added with a grin, "that's actually zoggin' awesome."
Mei's smile widened into a manic grin and said, "Oh, you think so too?"
Dorn nodded and said, "While this experimental bolt is definitely too dangerous to be used on most people, I can see it being used to forcibly suppress an exceptionally tough enemy that is large-sized, well armoured or both."
Ferrus smirked an added, "With an adjustment or twelve, we can fit these bolts into magazines for not only our bolt guns but also any suitable defensive turret."
Shocked at what Dorn, Ferrus and Vulkan were saying, nearly everyone from the support course who had decided to observe the live testing of the bolt gun thought, "What kind of enemies are you girls expecting to face to justify using THAT for 'suppression fire'?!"
"So, am I in?" asked Mei.
"As long as you let us know what you are doing and limit yourself to what we or Power Loader-sensei has authorised, yes," said Dorn who had a bitter smile on her face.
Suddenly, Mei laughed like an 'orky mad dok' as she exclaimed jubilantly, "YES! I have so many ideas for my babies!"
As Mei continued to laugh, nearly everyone in U.A. High School felt a shiver of primal terror crawl down their spines.
-In the primarchs' original universe…-
When images of Hatsume Mei started to appear in the visions, reactions of her attitude towards the craft of creating support gear was mixed to say the least. While most of the Adeptus Mechanicus acknowledged her talent and devotion to creating machines, they also felt that her love for experimenting was simply to radical to be acceptable. One notable exception among the Adeptus Mechanicus was a certain Belisarious Cawl who wished that he could recruit her as an aspiring tech priest. Understandably, many people in the Imperium, including the Iron Hands, Imperial Fists and Salamanders, agreed that Mei and Cawl must never, ever, be allowed to meet.
Another notable faction that took notice of Mei was the Orks who declared her as an "orky humie". Not surprisingly, they approved of her tendency to make experimental weapons that had explosive results.
Even the daemonic entities of the Warp, especially a certain Vashtorr the Arkifane, had taken notice of Mei. Understandably, Vashtorr wanted to corrupt Mei into becoming his "heretek priestess" and was bitter over the fact that doing so was impossible for him.
Aside from Mei, the visions also showed Nekona. For some odd reason, some of the space marines from the Ultramarines and its successor chapters felt a faint connection towards her as though she, in another universe, could have been one of their own. As strange as the connection was, it was ultimately deemed as a mere coincidence amongst the said space marines especially since it was clear that Nekona got along with Guilliman.
Little did everyone realise that the Emperor of Mankind had plans for not only Mei but also Nekona.
-End Chapter-
Author's Notes:
If there is one good thing about updating a story more slowly, it is the occasional chance to introduce recently-discovered canon or fan-made elements to the story as it progresses. Case in point, while I was working on the previous chapter of this story, I came across a certain fan-made primarch of the second legion named Nekona.
[ /ChumiiCham/status/1652799041032400897?s=20 ]
While having Nekona as an actual primarch is not possible due to already having Icarian filling that role, no one said that I cannot have her adapted into a resident of the 'Boku no Hero Academia' world as a member of the business course at UA High School.
Her details are as follows:
Nekomimi Nekona - She is a student of the first year business course at UA High School and is a friend of Guilliman. She loves anime, cooking, frilly dresses and the colour pink. She dreams of owning a her own restaurant after she graduates. While some will argue that she can own a restaurant without being involved in the hero business, there is no denying that heroes can be a good source of advertisement for a business. She has tan skin, light-pink hair, darker-pink eyes and the ears and tail of a pink-furred cat. She is also a skilled cook, especially when it involves eggs for some reason, and has a quirk called, 'Meowscular'. It is a transformation quirk that allows her to transform into a larger and stronger form (as in from her original build, which is similar to Ashido Mina's, to a build comparable to Cathleen Bate). Although her quirk is suitable for heroics, she simply wants to own a restaurant and give delicious meals to other people. On a side note, Leman Russ cannot stand her for some reason.
Yes, the idea of Vulkan speaking like an Ork is inspired by the 'Text-To-Speech' video series.
Until next time, go beyond, plus ultra!
