Chapter 10 winds howl and thunders bark
As soon as tiger claw and his followers from the dark forest and thunder clan fled from the cave that thunder clan called home fire star called for a clan meeting to discuss what should be done about them the whole clan agreed on one thing a group of warriors should go after them but one warrior inparticular seemed to be more worried then all of the others about their problems the new cat was a golden tabby Tom with long legs and amber eyes and as the clan broke apart to go for a nights sleep lucky went over to speak with the new Tom cat who introduced himself as bracken fur the brother of both cinder pelt and bright heart.
And the former apprentice of the missing deputy of thunder clan gray stripe and was also fire stars apprentice for a time I'm sorry if I don't feel much like talking now I am just a bit worried about tiger claw and his group that they will be able to coordinate a surprise attack on us since me and dust pelt partial built the dens that that the clan is using now a majority of the work was done by two legs but do you see the sticks and piles of stones in place of the entrance to each cave to which lucky nodded and bracken fur then said well me and dust pelt put them there so we could start shoring up the walls of the dens to keep them stable which was a surprise to lucky he had never heard of a creature using sticks and stones to keep their homes from collapsing and then bracken fur continued with the main reason I'm worried was because I have a mate who is heavy with my kittens and he was worried for his sisters as well since they were both injured by tiger claws plans for power bright heart lost half of her face and one ear and then there's cinder pelt who got hit by a monster and lost the use of her hind leg as well as she as been acting strange lately like she had been talking to someone no one else could see.
To which lucky interrupted with ok that's enough I see where you're coming from but if there's on thing I have learned with my life on my own is that you can not let your fears control your life instead use the fear to make you a more powerful protecter of both your mate ad your sisters to which bracken fur responded with thanks I needed that and lucky answered with any time and then bracken fur asked lucky would you like to meet my mate to which lucky responded with actually I would love to if you think it would be alright with your mate to which bracken fur answered lucky back with actually she has been waiting to meet you since she heard we had a dog for a guest and with that bracken fur lead lucky over to a larger than normal den with bramble walls all around it and then bracken fur poked his head into the den and said sorrel tail our dog guest is just outside the den if you still want to meet him and a feminine voice answered yes I would but only if fern cloud is allowed to meet him as well.
To which lucky respond with its fine with me and with that two she cats came out of the den one was white with orange legs black paws a tail with orange and black stripes and a black spot on both her face and chest as well as orange spots in almost the exact same places the other was little with pale gray fur with darker flecks throughout and pale leaf green eyes the white she cat introduced herself as sorrel tail the mate of bracken fur and the gray she cat introduced herself as fern cloud and then fern cloud noticed something that seemed to catch her interest and asked lucky about it I notice your tail is wagging did something happen to you today that made you upset because that's what it means to us cats and lucky answered no actually but I can see your confusion since I'm probably the first calm dog you've met and the two she cats respond with yes it is well when my tail moves like this it means I am a little bit happy and the faster it goes the happier we dogs are or it could mean we are excited about it and then the pale gray she cat fern cloud asked what are you happy about to which lucky answered with I'm happy for you fern cloud because I can scent that you are pregnant with kits along with sorrel tail which came as a shock to both she cats and then lucky continued with well I can guess that sorrel tail is pregnant with bracken fur kits but who is the father of your litter fern cloud. Just as lucky finished speaking a little cat with glossy light brown fur and amber eyes came up to fern cloud and said to her while rubbing his head under her chin mom you wouldn't believe what fire star just told me and then bracken fur said I can probably guess your getting a new mentor starting tomorrow birch paw and then the light brown Tom said how could you guess bracken fur he told me I will begin training with bramble claw and then fern cloud asked what happened to you being trained by your uncle ash fur to which birch paw responded with I don't know why he just said that it had something to do with tiger claw coming back from the dead and then lucky respond with I can tell you about that but you might not like it because it involves spider paw and dust pelt as well. To which fern cloud responded with you might as well tell us now so me and my son here can be prepared and lucky began telling all the cats present how he and birch kit accidentally stumbled upon dust pelt and ash fur having a meeting just behind the dirt place tunnel and how dust pelt himself killed spider paw to become tiger caws new vessel and how tiger claw promised sand storm to become dust pelts mate and squirrel flight to ash fur if they agreed to help him which caused fern cloud to say with a growl in her voice. When I get my paws on those three I will rip off all of their pelts and use the fur for me and my kittens bedding which got a purr of laughter out of both sorrel tail and bracken fur then fern cloud noticed a scratch on lucky's snout and asked the dog who gave you that scratch and lucky answered it was dust pelt he attacked me as they were fleeing from the cave and heading for the pine forest and then fern cloud said alright lie down and when lucky complied the she cat began licking his snout to clean the scratches which lucky couldn't deny felt good to him and he stated this isn't your first time being a mother is it to which the she cat answered with no actually this litter will be my third my first litter was spider paw and his brother shrew paw who died trying to collect prey for the clan during the time our home was being destroyed by two legs before we came here and the second litter was birch paw and his two siblings who died from starvation one was named larch kit who was a female the other was also a female named holly kit the father of both litters was dust pelt unfortunately just as fern cloud finished speaking three new cats who appeared out from what seemed thin air two were small brown females with amber eyes and the last was a male who had dark brown fur with amber eyes and a narrow muzzle the two females ran up to fern cloud and began rubbing up against her chest while the male stayed back a bit and fern cloud began licking the two females while saying what have you two been up to it looks like you both were pulled through a bramble bush by both of your tails to which both the females responded with yes we were by shrew paw he thought it might be to much for you if we showed up so soon after fathers betrayal to which fern cloud purr even louder and said no this is exactly what I need after tonight and then shrew paw came over to fern cloud ad began to lick her all over while describing what star clan looked like to her to which fern cloud asked the three new cats why did you leave paradise for here. And then spotted leaf appeared from out of the opening into fire stars den which she said she would share with the thunder clan leader and thunder star for the time being and explained to fern cloud that we in star clan thought it was unfair that you lost your kits and so we gave them the chance to come come back to life which all three accepted which caused fern cloud to start purring loud enough that lucky thought it sounded similar to the loud cages of the long paws and the dog decided he had enough time with these families and decided to go to his den outside of the thunder clan cave and just as he exited the cave he smelled something unfamiliar to him so he used his nose to track the smell and once he got to where the smell seemed to be its strongest it was a bush and when lucky parted the bush to get a look at what he was smelling it was a she cat with three kittens the she cat was cream furred with blue eyes one of the kits was a small gray and white she kitten with a whip like tail the second was a gray and white Tom kitten with fluffy thick fur which looked soft and green eyes the last was also a Tom kitten with long cream colored fur and a big bushy tail the she cat then said please don't hurt my kittens Bella I was just looking for a safe place to live where my kittens won't be stolen from me and smoky won't hurt me and the moment I left the barn two new she cats came up to me and said that they would give me and my kittens sanctuary if I help them destroy something called thunder clan one was a ginger she cat with one white paw and a bushy tail and amber eyes the other was a slender pale ginger she cat with pale leaf green eyes. And then just as the she cat finished speaking maple shade in the body of squirrel flight and sand storm jumped out of a bush with a muscular gray and white Tom and then the new she cat said to the new Tom smoky what are you doing here with these two she cats to which the new Tom named smoky answered they offered me protection to me and floss from the clans if we helped them murder this dog here and then let out a loud wail and then a long paw with what looked like a log of metal appeared and squeezed a loop close to the end of the log close to its hand and then lucky fell dead on the spot. And then when lucky awoke he noticed he was in a field with a abundance of creatures scurrying around trees and when he looked up at the sky he saw nine stars coming down from the sky and as they got closer to the ground they started taking the form of of cats the first one to began speaking was a large broad shouldered male cat with dark brown fur with amber eyes who said his name was ragged star and that was also partly responsible for what was happening now but he would do everything in his body to help make things right if lucky would accept his gift to which lucky answered if you are truly sorry for what you did I see no reason to not forgive you so I accept your gift then ragged star said then with this life I give you a bark that summon a storm when ever you need it and then ragged star stepped away for a new cat to take his place the new cat was a wiry black Tom with a broad forehead and shoulders with green eyes he said his mam was lightning tail and his gift to lucky was endless stamina the next cat was a she cat who was sleek with raven black fur and green eyes she said her name was leopard foot and she gave him the love of a mother for all young ones which lucky didn't see a use for but accepted anyway the next was a chestnut brown she cat who was short with thick fur and amber eyes she said her name was acorn fur and she gave him a life for knowledge of all herbs and plants needed for healing the next was a dark gray she cat with amber eyes who gave him a life for courage in the face of any advisory the next was a ginger and black she cat with amber eyes who said her name was milk weed and her gift was the gift of compassion the next cat was a black and white male with amber eyes who shot milk weed a look of regret and said he was once milk weeds mate and his name was leaf and his gift was that of mercy the next cat was a she cat with sleek and soft fur in pale gray and green eyes she said her name was storm and that her gift would be something called sight beyond sight and lastly was a was a sleek furred speckled she cat with blue eyes and her name was quiet rain and her gift would be a fang so sharp it could cut through anything to which lucky accepted with great honor and pride then the cats started chanting lucky star lucky star lucky star and when lucky awoke he noticed something in his mouth and quickly spat it out and looked at it the thing looked like what her female long paw would use to defend herself when the male long paw drank his fire water and would get violent but this one had cow hide wrapped around it so lucky could get a good grip on it in his mouth and the evil cats and long paw were starring at him with a look of horror on their faces and lucky decided to try and use the power that ragged star gave him so he barked with all of his might leave me and my friends alone which made a lightning bolt strike down on top of maple shade which killed her instantly and sand storm and smoky carried her away while saying this isn't the last you've seen of us we will be back with more allies to end all of you once and for all and then lucky said to daisy now that that's over Let's get you and your kits some place safe which daisy gladly and then the four cats and one dog headed to the thunder clan camp and lucky explained way had happened to squirrel flight who was on guard duty and leaf pool who was returning from a late night herb gathering session and lead daisy her kittens and lucky over to the medicine den where leaf pool cinder pelt and spotted leaf could examine them for any injuries and the three medicine acts were Impressed with how lucky had healed and cinder heart then said well I guess there is a first time for everything and then they sent daisy and her kittens to the now crowded nursery but lucky was able to quickly fix that problem by digging more holes in the rock wall which impressed fern cloud and sorrel tail who said it would have taken bracken fur and dust pelt all day to dig a new tunnel and everyone went to sleep and then daisy went to one of the new tunnels and fell asleep mean while on the moor land a battle was raging on between wind clan and blood clan and leopard hole who they thought was there to help them as well as omega and blade with their pack and tiger claw and the dark forest cats foaloan was tossing the cats around like they were fleas on his back but just as foaloan was about to help crow feather a black cat with a purple piece of cloth which Bella explained was called a collar but it had what looked like dog fangs sticking out of the spaces in the collar and the claws as well the strange new cat went and jabbed his fake claws into foaloan throat and the next thing foaloan saw was a big moor land with four giant oak trees in its center and a sky full of stars it was also cloudy in the wind clan territory then nine stars came down to the moor land and as they touched it they became cats the first. to come to the wolf foalan was a wiry thin gray furred Tom cat with green eyes a long tail and fur that spiked up on his head he said his name was gorse star and he was the father of moth flight and the mate of wind star and that he and the rest of star clan had a gift for him if the wolf accepted it which faolan gladly accepted and the gorse star said then with this life I give you a howl that can summon wind capable of stunning any enemy the next cat to come up was a kitten who was brown and white with a white underbelly he said his name was ember kit and his gift was the endless energy of a kitten who had yet to leave its nest the next was a gray Tom with amber eyes his name was dust muzzle and he gave faoloan the courage of the bravest warrior the next was a tiny fluffy she cat with brown and white fur she said her name was morning whisker and her gift would be armor that no claw could pierce the next three cats came up as a group the first was a male with pale ginger fur and amber eyes he gave faoloan the wisdom and strength of a tunneler cat the next was a ginger female kitten who gave compassion the last was a thin soft furred black and white she cat who gave faoloan the fierce determination of a mother defending her kits then the three introduced themselves as sand gorse finch kit and pale bird the family of tall star next was a white she cat who gave faoloan the gift of stamina and finally was a stone gray Tom with flecks of brown fur and yellow eyes he gave faoloan the wisdom of how the herbs of the moor land can heal others then the cats of star clan began chanting lupine star lupine star lupine star and then faoloan awoke and let out a howl that seemed to scare every cat the first cat faoloan attacked was the black cat who killed him he quickly grabbed the cat by it's neck and started to throw the Tom around like he was a toy around the battlefield he then went to help crow feather who was being cornered by mud claw and hound leap and omega from the viscous dog pack so faoloan immediately jumped to his new feline friend aid and the first thing he did was grab hound leap and mud claw by their scruff and say to omega now you have two choices either you leave this cat alone or I will rip out both of their throats and crush your wind pipe but then the coward of a wolf dog grabbed crow feather by his scruff and said to faoloan how about a new deal either you let my comrades go and give up your life to us or your little friend here dies but before faoloan could make a decision a muscular black she cat with amber eyes sunk her claws into the wolf dogs backside which made him drop crow feather and then turn around to try to get who attacked him and when faoloan saw it was night cloud and faoloan used the confusion to step on hound leaps throat killing the evil cat instantly and ripped out mud claws throat before night cloud could finish blinding her opponent which made the wolf dog run for the pine forest while howling a cry of retreat which all of the evil creatures except for blade tiger claw and leopard hole seemed to be following the wolf dogs advice the first to come up to faoloan was blade the viscous packs leader who said well I guess I owe you a favor for blinding that traitorous wolf he was just a waste of space in my pack so if you will agree I will let you join my pack as my mate the next to speak was tiger claw who said I could use someone like you on my team after all you were able to to toss around the ordinary cats like they were nothing and you killed two of my generals in one battle by yourself the last to speak was leopard hole who said just a friendly word of advice it's better to be on tiger claws side because no one will be able to get in your way of doing what you want and no one will ever beat you in a fight again faoloan waited for all three evil animals to stop speaking before answering with your offer sounds tempting but no even with all of the power you have offered me and claim to have I see what you really have to show for it you three are all alone with nothing to show for your efforts which got all three of the villains growling at faoloan and then tiger claw so be it but remember I gave you a chance for more before he stepped on the shadows of hound leap and mud claw only for nothing to happen which surprised his two companions but none more so than blade who turned to tiger star and growled you stupid sharp claw I thought you said me and my pack wouldn't have to fear death as long as we sided with you and the evil dog leapt for tiger claws throat only for leopard hole to get in the way and with a bite to her throat another one of leopard holes lives was taken away from her and then mud claws body began rising from where it had fallen and mud claw began speaking he said well that was a new experience I thought I would never get out of that place with all of the mushrooms but eight other spirits decided to bring me back so I guess I will be taking a play out of your book leopard fur and start calling myself hole from now on and then just as he was done talking both crow feather and night cloud mud hole together while saying looks like you forgot about something as the brave Tom struck his claws into his former mentors eyes while night cloud started wrestling with leopard hole and a new Tom who faoloan had never seen before sliced mud holes throat causing one of his nine lives which were represented by black balls of energy left his body as the evil Tom fell to the ground and as mud hole came two he asked the new Tom who had a wiry gray fur coat why did you kill me brother I thought we had something special and you would join me on tiger claws side when I killed all of wind clan you could have been my deputy to which the new Tom responded with as if I would ever join your side why you were ever picked to be our original deputy in the first place I will never know and why you betrayed every single cat who ever meant anything to us have you truly forgotten the lessons our mentors gave us or did you ever learn them in the first place to which mud hole responded with oh please you took those lessons we we're taught seriously I just used them as a way of gaining what I wanted torn ear dear brother which made all the cats stare at him in dis belief the first to begin speaking again was crow feather who said no wonder I had such a hard time becoming a warrior with a mentor who never even cared about the warrior code and then tiger claw leopard hole and mud hole all fled into the pine forest after the rest of the companions and with that all of wind clan went back to their camp for a nice long rest
