Panic. Fear. PANIC. WHAT IS HAPPENING. As my thoughts race, I find myself sitting on an unfamiliar couch in an unfamiliar place. I am pulled out of my thoughts by an unfamiliar voice "Oh my god, you look just like her." Looking towards the voice I see a woman looking at Elena in wonder. "But I'm not. Please, whatever you-""BE QUIET" the woman cuts Elena off. Ignoring the clear threat and walking towards the woman Elena says "But I'm not Katherine. My name is Elena Gilbert; you don't have to do this." "I know who you are, I said be quiet." Sneers the woman in response. Without thought to the consequences Elena asks, "What do you want?" With an echoing sound I see fall to the other couch in the room, unconscious. Did this lady just slap her? "I want you to be quiet" says the woman before turning and leaving the room. What is going on?
Once Rose leaves the room, I rush to Elena's side and kneel beside her. I gently place my hand on her shoulder and try to wake her up, no luck. Taking a breath, I turn away from Elena and sit in front of her on the floor. Time to see if I can contact Bonnie. Closing my eyes and settling into the floor I focus on my amulet and pull some power from it. Shit. My eyes slam open and a wave of shame washes over me. I don't know what spell to use. Before I can get too lost in my thoughts, I hear a small groan leave Elena. Turning towards her I see her eyes start to flicker open. "Hey, are you okay?" I whisper towards her. She gives me a slight nod before saying "what are they talking about?" "Who?" Slowly Elena raises her arm and points towards the stairs "We need to get closer and figure out what is going on." As Elena pushes herself up, I attempt to help as I say "You can't be serious Elena! That woman just knocked you out with a single slap and you want to annoy her again?" "We have no choice, Annie. We need to figure this out." Elena quietly tells me as she stands and makes her way towards the door. With a resigned sigh I get up and follow behind Elena. As we stand by the door, we hear two people discussing someone named Elijah. When suddenly, Elena leans too far forward and a board under her squeaks. Shit. The door in front of us is thrown open the women steps out "You! There's nothing around here for miles. If you think you're getting out of this house, you're tragically wrong. Understand?" She says as she steps towards the two of us. Standing tall Elena asks, "Who's Elijah?" looking between the two of us the woman then says, "He's your worst nightmare." Great just what I need... More nightmares.
After our brief encounter with the woman, she takes off and I turn to Elena. "Have you heard the name Elijah before?" I ask Elena, who gently shakes her head no. "I haven't. But I bet she knows." "Of course, she knows Elena, she is the one who mentioned him!" I exclaim in disbelief. She quickly glances at me before explaining "I didn't mean it like that. I meant we need to get her to tell us who he is so that we know what we are dealing with!" "What is with you and facing death Elena?" Without acknowledging my question, she gently grabs my arm and drags me to off to look for the woman.
Shortly after we started looking for the woman, we find her in another room turning on a light. "Why are we here?" asks Elena. Turning to face us the woman responds, "You keep asking me these questions like I'm gonna answer them." before turning away and picking up a board from the ground and placing it in front of a window. To block the sun, I bet. "Why won't you?" "That's another one." Letting out a sigh I turn to Elena, but before I can say anything she does "You got me, okay? It's not like we can go anywhere. The least you can do is tell us what you want with us." Elena is going to get us killed. "I personally want nothing; I'm just a delivery service." says the woman, surprising us both. "To who? The Elijah person you were talking about?" I jump in. Glancing between the two of us she nods and continues to move things in the room around. "Who is he? Is he a vampire?" asks Elena. As the woman is adjusting books on a table she responds, "He's one of the vampires, the originals." "What do you mean the originals?" inquires Elena. "Again, with the questions. Haven't the Salvatore's been teaching you your vampire history?" Finally having enough, I jump in and step towards the woman with Elena following "Okay enough, what is going on and why are we here?" Letting out a sigh the woman stops fixing things and turns towards us "Trevor and I have been running from the originals for 500 years. We're tired, we want it over. We're using you to negotiate ourselves out of an old mess." "But why us?" asks Elena as I nod in agreement. "Because you're a Petrova Doppelgänger. You're the key to breaking the curse." But what about me? Interrupting my thoughts Elena asks, "The curse? The sun and the moon curse?" "Oh, you do know your history." says the woman with a clearly bored tone. "What do you mean I'm the key? The moonstone is what breaks the curse." "No, the moonstone is what binds the curse. The sacrifice is what breaks it." "Sacrifice?" I squeak out. Ignoring me the woman says to Elena, "The blood of the doppelgänger. You're the doppelgänger. Which means, in order to break the curse, you're the one who has to die." "Hold on a minute you kidnapped us so that she could die?" I say with curiosity. "No. I took her so that she could be given to the originals for them to sacrifice. I took you for another reason entirely." "Care to share that information?" I ask. "Not particularly" "But you just told Elena what she wanted to know!" As she raises her eyebrow at me a voice comes from behind.
"Captivity has made them pushy, eh? What do you want to know doppelicious and guest?" says the man the woman was speaking to earlier. He must be Trevor. "Who were you running from?" asks Elena. The originals, we already know this. I think to myself, at the same time Trevor answers similarly. "Yeah, she said that. What does that mean?" "The first family, the old world. Rose and I pissed them off." As he speaks the woman, Rose, nods in agreement. "Correction, I pissed them off, Rose had my back and for over half a millennium, they wanted us dead." he adds. "What did you do to them?" I ask. "He made the same mistake countless others did: he trusted Katerina Petrova." Shares Rose as Trevor comes to her side. "Katherine." Elena and I say at the same time. "I helped her escape her fate and now I've, sorry, we've been marked ever since." "Which is why we're not gonna make the same mistake again." Trevor and Rose add. As the two of them stare at us I can't help but wonder, this still doesn't answer why they took me too. As if reading my thoughts, Rose announces, "And no, just because we told you two about the curse and the originals does not mean we will tell you why we took you... Anastacia." How in the hell does she know my name.
With the conversation clearly over, Elena and I make our way back to the couches we woke up on. As Elena sits, we hear a light crunching sound. Standing up i make my way over to her and see her pull out a piece of paper from under her. Unfolding the paper, it reads, Stefan and Damon are coming for you –B. Trying not to make any noise in excitement, I smile at Elena as I sit down beside her. "Quick give me that to burn" I say. Nodding Elena hand me the note. Holding it in-between my hands in front of my face, I focus my energy and whisper "incendia" into them. The paper quickly burns and leaves no trace it was ever here. I feel Elena grab my hand after I put it down and I can't help but squeeze hers in return. We are going to make it out of here alive.
Still sitting on the same couches, Rose has been wandering around us packing when Trevor runs in. "He's here! This was a mistake." Rose turns towards Trevor and makes her way over to him while saying "No, I told you I would get us out of this. You have to trust me." "No! He wants me dead, Rose!" Trevor yells at her. Holding her arms out towards him Rose calmly states "He wants them more." With excessive pointing and hand movements Trevor responds I can't do this. You give her to him; he'll have mercy on you, but I need to get out of here." Who is this Elijah guy to have Trevor this freaked out? From my spot on the couch, I see Rose approach Trevor and grab his hands "Hey! What are we?" "We're family, forever." Broken from their moment a knock sounds on the main door.
"You're scared." asks Elena as both vampires jump slightly. Ignoring Elena, Rose turns to Trevor and tells him "Stay here with them and don't make a sound." Rose then rushes out of the room towards the front door. As she leaves Trevor looks more and more nervous with each passing second. I quickly glance at Elena and find her already looking at me with concern. What do we do now? Giving me a small sad smile Elena stands and begins to pace in front of me. Oh Bonnie, I think I need to learn more combat spells.
After wat feels like forever but is only a couple minutes Rose re-enters the room with an unknown figure. This must be Elijah. In less than a second Elijah speeds over to Elena and stops in front of her. Before I know it, he leans in and appears to smell her before saying "Human. It's impossible. Hello there." From behind her I see Elena's entire body stiffen as Elijah looks over her shoulder. At me. HIs eyes widen in almost shock as he gently pushes past Elena and take a few steps towards me. I scramble to stand and the second I find my footing I find myself against a wall with Elijah standing in front of me. "Now Rose you neglected to tell me about this one." As I take a deep breath to try and stay calm, I hear Rose respond, "I thought you might like a gift, an apology for our past actions if you will." Without acknowledging her, Elijah steps close to me and whispers so softly I have to strain to hear "The one made for a Mikaelson." Before I can comprehend what he has said, I find myself pressed against the wall with a wrist pressed to my mouth. What the hell. Wait. Is that... BLOOD. As I start to struggle against him, he uses his other hand to cup my face keeping me still and softly says "it is just a precaution young one, now drink." Realizing I do not have much of a choice I take a gulp of the metallic liquid pooling in my mouth. Nodding in happiness Elijah pauses for a moment before pulling away from me. I quickly glance down at his wrist and see the mound completely gone. As I blink, he is using a handkerchief and wiping what I can only assume is blood off my face. "We have a long journey head of us. We should be going."
From behind Elijah I see Elena step forward towards Rose "Please, don't let him take us." She begs. Without acknowledging Elena, Elijah steps away from me and turns towards Rose and Trevor "One last piece of business and we're done." After Elijah speaks, Trevor adds in "I've waited so long for this day, Elijah. I'm truly, very sorry." "Oh no, your apology's not necessary." "Yes, yes, it is. You trusted me with Katerina, and I failed you." As Trevor speaks, I see Elijah slowly circling around Trevor, oh yes, you are the guilty one and Rose aided you because she was loyal to you and that now I honor. Where was your loyalty?" As Elijah stops in front of him, Trevor responds "I beg your forgiveness." "So granted." As Trevor smiles at Elijah's response, Elijah raises one of his arms and swipes at Trevor. Simultaneously Rose, Elena, and I yell out in shock as Elijah cleanly removes Trevor's head from his body. As Rose begins to charge towards Elijah he simply states "Don't, Rose, now that you are free." and she stops in her tracks still crying.
Elijah turns towards Elena and I and tells us to come when Elena suddenly says with panic "No, what about the moonstone?" Stepping towards Elena with purpose Elijah asks, "What do you know about the moonstone?" "I know that you need it and I know where it is." "Yes?" Elijah says with clear impatience. Starting to calm down slightly Elena responds, "I can help you get it." "Tell me where it is." "It doesn't work that way." "Are you negotiating with me?" Elijah asks with clear surprise in his voice. Turning to Rose, who still has tears in her eyes, she tells him "It's the first I've heard of it." Turning back to Elena, it looks like Elijah is trying to compel her when he stops and says "What is this vervain doing around your neck?" In the same moment he reaches out and grabs her necklace from her neck and throws it across the room. He then uses his other hand to grab her head and forces her to look at him. "Tell me where the moonstone is." In an almost robotic voice Elena tells him "In the tomb, underneath the church ruins." "What is it doing there?" "It's with Katherine." "Interesting." Suddenly the sound of glass breaking pulls Elijah from his compulsion. "Who else is in this house Rose?" He asks as he turns towards her. "I don't know."
